ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਗੁ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ॥੨॥
Gur sevā mahal pā▫ī▫ai jag ḏuṯar ṯarī▫ai. ||2||
Serving the Guru, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is obtained, and the impassable world-ocean is crossed over. ||2||

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ
Ḏarisat ṯerī sukẖ pā▫ī▫ai man māhi niḏẖānā.
By Your Glance of Grace, peace is obtained, and the treasure fills the mind.

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਭਏ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
Jā ka▫o ṯum kirpāl bẖa▫e sevak se parvānā. ||3||
That servant, unto whom You bestow Your Mercy, is approved and accepted. ||3||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੋ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪੀਵੈ
Amriṯ ras har kīrṯano ko virlā pīvai.
How rare is that person who drinks in the Ambrosial Essence of the Lord's Kirtan.

ਵਜਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੈ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੧੧੬॥
vajahu Nānak milai ek nām riḏ jap jap jīvai. ||4||14||116||
Nanak has obtained the commodity of the One Name; he lives by chanting and meditating on it within his heart. ||4||14||116||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
Āsā mėhlā 5.
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਚੇਰੁਲੀ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ
Jā parabẖ kī ha▫o cẖerulī so sabẖ ṯe ūcẖā.
I am God's maid-servant; He is the highest of all.

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਂਢੀਐ ਥੋਰਾ ਅਰੁ ਮੂਚਾ ॥੧॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯā kā kāʼndẖī▫ai thorā ar mūcẖā. ||1||
All things, big and small, are said to belong to Him. ||1||

ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੀ ਮਨੀਆ
Jī▫a parān merā ḏẖano sāhib kī manī▫ā.
I surrender my soul, my breath of life, and my wealth, to my Lord Master.

ਨਾਮਿ ਜਿਸੈ ਕੈ ਊਜਲੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਦਾਸੀ ਗਨੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Nām jisai kai ūjlī ṯis ḏāsī ganī▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Through His Name, I become radiant; I am known as His slave. ||1||Pause||

ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ਅਨੰਦ ਮੈ ਨਾਉ ਮਾਣਕ ਹੀਰਾ
veparvāhu anand mai nā▫o māṇak hīrā.
You are Carefree, the Embodiment of Bliss. Your Name is a gem, a jewel.

ਰਜੀ ਧਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਤੂੰ ਮੀਰਾ ॥੨॥
Rajī ḏẖā▫ī saḏā sukẖ jā kā ṯūʼn mīrā. ||2||
One who has You as her Master, is satisfied, satiated and happy forever. ||2||

ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਰੀ ਸੰਗ ਕੀ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵਉ
Sakẖī saherī sang kī sumaṯ ḏariṛāva▫o.
O my companions and fellow maidens, please implant that balanced understanding within me.

ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਤਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੩॥
Sevhu sāḏẖū bẖā▫o kar ṯa▫o niḏẖ har pāva▫o. ||3||
Serve the Holy Saints lovingly, and find the treasure of the Lord. ||3||

ਸਗਲੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਠਾਕੁਰੈ ਸਭ ਕਹਤੀ ਮੇਰਾ
Saglī ḏāsī ṯẖākurai sabẖ kahṯī merā.
All are servants of the Lord Master, and all call Him their own.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੇ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੁਖਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੧੧੭॥
Jisahi sīgāre nānkā ṯis sukẖėh baserā. ||4||15||117||
She alone dwells in peace, O Nanak, whom the Lord adorns. ||4||15||117||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਦਾਸਰੀ ਏਹੁ ਅਚਾਰਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਰੀ
Sanṯā kī ho▫e ḏāsrī ehu acẖārā sikẖ rī.
Become the servant of the Saints, and learn this way of life.

ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣਾ ਗੁਣ ਊਤਮੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਿਖੁ ਰੀ ॥੧॥
Sagal guṇā guṇ ūṯmo bẖarṯā ḏūr na pikẖ rī. ||1||
Of all virtues, the most sublime virtue is to see your Husband Lord near at hand. ||1||

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੀ
Ih man sunḏar āpṇā har nām majīṯẖai rang rī.
So, dye this mind of yours with the color of the Lord's Love.

ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਚਾਤੁਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣੁ ਗੁਪਾਲਹਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Ŧi▫āg si▫āṇap cẖāṯurī ṯūʼn jāṇ gupālėh sang rī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Renounce cleverness and cunning, and know that the Sustainer of the world is with you. ||1||Pause||

ਭਰਤਾ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਏਹੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇ ਰੀ
Bẖarṯā kahai so mānī▫ai ehu sīgār baṇā▫e rī.
Whatever your Husband Lord says, accept that, and make it your decoration.

ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਏਹੁ ਤੰਬੋਲਾ ਖਾਇ ਰੀ ॥੨॥
Ḏūjā bẖā▫o visārī▫ai ehu ṯambolā kẖā▫e rī. ||2||
Forget the love of duality, and chew upon this betel leaf. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਪਕੋ ਇਹ ਸਤ ਕੀ ਸੇਜ ਬਿਛਾਇ ਰੀ
Gur kā sabaḏ kar ḏīpko ih saṯ kī sej bicẖẖā▫e rī.
Make the Word of the Guru's Shabad your lamp, and let your bed be Truth.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਰਹੁ ਤਉ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਰੀ ॥੩॥
Āṯẖ pahar kar joṛ rahu ṯa▫o bẖetai har rā▫e rī. ||3||
Twenty-four hours a day, stand with your palms pressed together, and the Lord, your King, shall meet you. ||3||

ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਚਜੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਈ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਪਾਰਿ ਰੀ
Ŧis hī cẖaj sīgār sabẖ sā▫ī rūp apār rī.
She alone is cultured and embellished, and she alone is of incomparable beauty.

ਸਾਈ ਸੋੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜੋ ਭਾਣੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੧੧੮॥
Sā▫ī sohagaṇ nānkā jo bẖāṇī karṯār rī. ||4||16||118||
She alone is the happy soul-bride, O Nanak, who is pleasing to the Creator Lord. ||4||16||118||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
Āsā mėhlā 5.
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਡੀਗਨ ਡੋਲਾ ਤਊ ਲਉ ਜਉ ਮਨ ਕੇ ਭਰਮਾ
Dīgan dolā ṯa▫ū la▫o ja▫o man ke bẖarmā.
As long as there are doubts in the mind, the mortal staggers and falls.

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਾਟੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਪਾਏ ਬਿਸਰਾਮਾ ॥੧॥
Bẖaram kāte gur āpṇai pā▫e bisrāmā. ||1||
The Guru removed my doubts, and I have obtained my place of rest. ||1||

ਓਇ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਦੋਖੀਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹੂਟੇ
O▫e bikẖāḏī ḏokẖī▫ā ṯe gur ṯe hūte.
Those quarrelsome enemies have been overcome, through the Guru.

ਹਮ ਛੂਟੇ ਅਬ ਉਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਓਇ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
Ham cẖẖūte ab unĥā ṯe o▫e ham ṯe cẖẖūte. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I have now escaped from them, and they have run away from me. ||1||Pause||

ਮੇਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਬੰਧਾ
Merā ṯerā jānṯā ṯab hī ṯe banḏẖā.
He is concerned with 'mine and yours', and so he is held in bondage.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਟੀ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਤਬ ਛੁਟਕੇ ਫੰਧਾ ॥੨॥
Gur kātī agi▫ānṯā ṯab cẖẖutke fanḏẖā. ||2||
When the Guru dispelled my ignorance, then the noose of death was cut away from my neck. ||2||

ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਤਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਲਉ ਦੁਖੀਆ
Jab lag hukam na būjẖ▫ṯā ṯab hī la▫o ḏukẖī▫ā.
As long as he does not understand the Command of God's Will, he remains miserable.

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੀਆ ॥੩॥
Gur mil hukam pacẖẖāṇi▫ā ṯab hī ṯe sukẖī▫ā. ||3||
Meeting with the Guru, he comes to recognize God's Will, and then, he becomes happy. ||3||

ਨਾ ਕੋ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਦੋਖੀਆ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਮੰਦਾ
Nā ko ḏusman ḏokẖī▫ā nāhī ko manḏā.
I have no enemies and no adversaries; no one is wicked to me.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮੈ ਬੰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੧੧੯॥
Gur kī sevā sevko Nānak kẖasmai banḏā. ||4||17||119||
That servant, who performs the Lord's service, O Nanak, is the slave of the Lord Master. ||4||17||119||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਉ
Sūkẖ sahj ānaḏ gẖaṇā har kīrṯan gā▫o.
Peace, celestial poise and absolute bliss are obtained, singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.

ਗਰਹ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
Garah nivāre saṯgurū ḏe apṇā nā▫o. ||1||
Bestowing His Name, the True Guru removes the evil omens. ||1||

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ
Balihārī gur āpṇe saḏ saḏ bal jā▫o.
I am a sacrifice to my Guru; forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him.
