ਸੋ ਛੂਟੈ ਮਹਾ ਜਾਲ ਤੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ॥੨॥
सो छूटै महा जाल ते जिसु गुर सबदु निरंतरि ॥२॥
So cẖẖūtai mahā jāl ṯe jis gur sabaḏ niranṯar. ||2||
They escape from the great noose of death; they are permeated with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਸਤ ਸਰੁ
गुर की महिमा किआ कहा गुरु बिबेक सत सरु ॥
Gur kī mahimā ki▫ā kahā gur bibek saṯ sar.
How can I chant the Glorious Praises of the Guru? The Guru is the ocean of Truth and clear understanding.

ਓਹੁ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ॥੩॥
ओहु आदि जुगादी जुगह जुगु पूरा परमेसरु ॥३॥
Oh āḏ jugāḏī jugah jug pūrā parmesar. ||3||
He is the Perfect Transcendent Lord, from the very beginning, and throughout the ages. ||3||

ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗੇ
नामु धिआवहु सद सदा हरि हरि मनु रंगे ॥
Nām ḏẖi▫āvahu saḏ saḏā har har man range.
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, forever and ever, my mind is filled with the Love of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਧਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦੪॥
जीउ प्राण धनु गुरू है नानक कै संगे ॥४॥२॥१०४॥
Jī▫o parāṇ ḏẖan gurū hai Nānak kai sange. ||4||2||104||
The Guru is my soul, my breath of life, and wealth; O Nanak, He is with me forever. ||4||2||104||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला ५ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 5.
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਾਈ ਅਲਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਭੋਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ
साई अलखु अपारु भोरी मनि वसै ॥
Sā▫ī alakẖ apār bẖorī man vasai.
If the Invisible and Infinite Lord dwells within my mind, even for a moment,

ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਮਾਇ ਮੈਡਾ ਹਭੁ ਨਸੈ ॥੧॥
दूखु दरदु रोगु माइ मैडा हभु नसै ॥१॥
Ḏūkẖ ḏaraḏ rog mā▫e maidā habẖ nasai. ||1||
then all my pains, troubles, and diseases vanish. ||1||

ਹਉ ਵੰਞਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ਸਾਈ ਆਪਣੇ
हउ वंञा कुरबाणु साई आपणे ॥
Ha▫o vañā kurbāṇ sā▫ī āpṇe.
I am a sacrifice to my Lord Master.

ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜਾਪਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
होवै अनदु घणा मनि तनि जापणे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Hovai anaḏ gẖaṇā man ṯan jāpṇe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meditating on Him, a great joy wells up within my mind and body. ||1||Pause||

ਬਿੰਦਕ ਗਾਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ
बिंदक गाल्हि सुणी सचे तिसु धणी ॥
Binḏak gālėh suṇī sacẖe ṯis ḏẖaṇī.
I have heard only a little bit of news about the True Lord Master.

ਸੂਖੀ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ਮਾਇ ਕੀਮ ਗਣੀ ॥੨॥
सूखी हूं सुखु पाइ माइ न कीम गणी ॥२॥
Sūkẖī hūʼn sukẖ pā▫e mā▫e na kīm gaṇī. ||2||
I have obtained the peace of all peace, O my mother; I cannot estimate its worth. ||2||

ਨੈਣ ਪਸੰਦੋ ਸੋਇ ਪੇਖਿ ਮੁਸਤਾਕ ਭਈ
नैण पसंदो सोइ पेखि मुसताक भई ॥
Naiṇ pasanḏo so▫e pekẖ musṯāk bẖa▫ī.
He is so beautiful to my eyes; beholding Him, I have been bewitched.

ਮੈ ਨਿਰਗੁਣਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇ ਆਪਿ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਲਈ ॥੩॥
मै निरगुणि मेरी माइ आपि लड़ि लाइ लई ॥३॥
Mai nirguṇ merī mā▫e āp laṛ lā▫e la▫ī. ||3||
I am worthless, O my mother; He Himself has attached me to the hem of His robe. ||3||

ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਹਭਾ ਹੂੰ ਬਾਹਰਾ
बेद कतेब संसार हभा हूं बाहरा ॥
Beḏ kaṯeb sansār habẖā hūʼn bāhrā.
He is beyond the world of the Vedas, the Koran and the Bible.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਦਿਸੈ ਜਾਹਰਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੦੫॥
नानक का पातिसाहु दिसै जाहरा ॥४॥३॥१०५॥
Nānak kā pāṯisāhu ḏisai jāhrā. ||4||3||105||
The Supreme King of Nanak is immanent and manifest. ||4||3||105||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला ५ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 5.
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਲਾਖ ਭਗਤ ਆਰਾਧਹਿ ਜਪਤੇ ਪੀਉ ਪੀਉ
लाख भगत आराधहि जपते पीउ पीउ ॥
Lākẖ bẖagaṯ ārāḏẖėh japṯe pī▫o pī▫o.
Tens of thousands of devotees worship and adore You, chanting, "Beloved, Beloved".

ਕਵਨ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਵਉ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਬਿਖਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
कवन जुगति मेलावउ निरगुण बिखई जीउ ॥१॥
Kavan jugaṯ melāva▫o nirguṇ bikẖ▫ī jī▫o. ||1||
How shall You unite me, the worthless and corrupt soul, with Yourself. ||1||

ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ
तेरी टेक गोविंद गुपाल दइआल प्रभ ॥
Ŧerī tek govinḏ gupāl ḏa▫i▫āl parabẖ.
You are my Support, O Merciful God, Lord of the Universe, Sustainer of the World.

ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਥ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
तूं सभना के नाथ तेरी स्रिसटि सभ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧūʼn sabẖnā ke nāth ṯerī sarisat sabẖ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
You are the Master of all; the entire creation is Yours. ||1||Pause||

ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੰਤ ਪੇਖਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ
सदा सहाई संत पेखहि सदा हजूरि ॥
Saḏā sahā▫ī sanṯ pekẖėh saḏā hajūr.
You are the constant help and support of the Saints, who behold You Ever-present.

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨੜਿਆ ਸੇ ਮਰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਵਿਸੂਰਿ ਵਿਸੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
नाम बिहूनड़िआ से मरन्हि विसूरि विसूरि ॥२॥
Nām bihūnṛi▫ā se marniĥ visūr visūr. ||2||
Those who lack the Naam, the Name of the Lord, shall die, engulfed in sorrow and pain. ||2||

ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਤਣ ਭਾਇ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਗਉਣੁ
दास दासतण भाइ मिटिआ तिना गउणु ॥
Ḏās ḏāsṯaṇ bẖā▫e miti▫ā ṯinā ga▫oṇ.
Those servants, who lovingly perform the Lord's service, are freed from the cycle of reincarnation.

ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨਾੜਾ ਹਾਲੁ ਕਉਣੁ ॥੩॥
विसरिआ जिन्हा नामु तिनाड़ा हालु कउणु ॥३॥
visri▫ā jinĥā nām ṯināṛā hāl ka▫uṇ. ||3||
What shall be the fate of those who forget the Naam? ||3||

ਜੈਸੇ ਪਸੁ ਹਰ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਆਉ ਤੈਸਾ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਭ
जैसे पसु हर्हिआउ तैसा संसारु सभ ॥
Jaise pas hariĥ▫ā▫o ṯaisā sansār sabẖ.
As are the cattle which have strayed, so is the entire world.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੦੬॥
नानक बंधन काटि मिलावहु आपि प्रभ ॥४॥४॥१०६॥
Nānak banḏẖan kāt milāvhu āp parabẖ. ||4||4||106||
O God, please cut away Nanak's bonds, and unite him with Yourself. ||4||4||106||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला ५ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਹਭੇ ਥੋਕ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਹਿਕੋ ਖਿਆਲੁ ਕਰਿ
हभे थोक विसारि हिको खिआलु करि ॥
Habẖe thok visār hiko kẖi▫āl kar.
Forget all other things, and dwell upon the Lord alone.

ਝੂਠਾ ਲਾਹਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਧਰਿ ॥੧॥
झूठा लाहि गुमानु मनु तनु अरपि धरि ॥१॥
Jẖūṯẖā lāhi gumān man ṯan arap ḏẖar. ||1||
Lay aside your false pride, and dedicate your mind and body to Him. ||1||

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਤੂੰ
आठ पहर सालाहि सिरजनहार तूं ॥
Āṯẖ pahar sālāhi sirjanhār ṯūʼn.
Twenty-four hours a day, praise the Creator Lord.

ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जीवां तेरी दाति किरपा करहु मूं ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jīvāʼn ṯerī ḏāṯ kirpā karahu mūʼn. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I live by Your bountiful gifts - please, shower me with Your Mercy! ||1||Pause||

ਸੋਈ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਮਾਇ ਜਿਤੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ
सोई कमु कमाइ जितु मुखु उजला ॥
So▫ī kamm kamā▫e jiṯ mukẖ ujlā.
So, do that work, by which your face shall be made radiant.

ਸੋਈ ਲਗੈ ਸਚਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਅਲਾ ॥੨॥
सोई लगै सचि जिसु तूं देहि अला ॥२॥
So▫ī lagai sacẖ jis ṯūʼn ḏėh alā. ||2||
He alone becomes attached to the Truth, O Lord, unto whom You give it. ||2||

ਜੋ ਢਹੰਦੋ ਮੂਲਿ ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਕਰਿ
जो न ढहंदो मूलि सो घरु रासि करि ॥
Jo na dẖahanḏo mūl so gẖar rās kar.
So build and adorn that house, which shall never be destroyed.

ਹਿਕੋ ਚਿਤਿ ਵਸਾਇ ਕਦੇ ਜਾਇ ਮਰਿ ॥੩॥
हिको चिति वसाइ कदे न जाइ मरि ॥३॥
Hiko cẖiṯ vasā▫e kaḏe na jā▫e mar. ||3||
Enshrine the One Lord within your consciousness; He shall never die. ||3||

ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਿਆ
तिन्हा पिआरा रामु जो प्रभ भाणिआ ॥
Ŧinĥā pi▫ārā rām jo parabẖ bẖāṇi▫ā.
The Lord is dear to those, who are pleasing to the Will of God.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਅਕਥੁ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਵਖਾਣਿਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੦੭॥
गुर परसादि अकथु नानकि वखाणिआ ॥४॥५॥१०७॥
Gur parsāḏ akath Nānak vakẖāṇi▫ā. ||4||5||107||
By Guru's Grace, Nanak describes the indescribable. ||4||5||107||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੇ ਕਿਨੇਹਿਆ
जिन्हा न विसरै नामु से किनेहिआ ॥
Jinĥā na visrai nām se kinehi▫ā.
What are they like - those who do not forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord?

ਭੇਦੁ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮੂਲਿ ਸਾਂਈ ਜੇਹਿਆ ॥੧॥
भेदु न जाणहु मूलि सांई जेहिआ ॥१॥
Bẖeḏ na jāṇhu mūl sāʼn▫ī jehi▫ā. ||1||
Know that there is absolutely no difference; they are exactly like the Lord. ||1||

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਭੇਟਿਆ
मनु तनु होइ निहालु तुम्ह संगि भेटिआ ॥
Man ṯan ho▫e nihāl ṯumĥ sang bẖeti▫ā.
The mind and body are enraptured, meeting with You, O Lord.

ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਮੇਟਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
सुखु पाइआ जन परसादि दुखु सभु मेटिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sukẖ pā▫i▫ā jan parsāḏ ḏukẖ sabẖ meti▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Peace is obtained, by the favor of the Lord's humble servant; all pains are taken away. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇਤੇ ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਤਿੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਖੇ
जेते खंड ब्रहमंड उधारे तिंन्ह खे ॥
Jeṯe kẖand barahmand uḏẖāre ṯinĥ kẖe.
As many as are the continents of the world, so many have been saved.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਪਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੇ ॥੨॥
जिन्ह मनि वुठा आपि पूरे भगत से ॥२॥
Jinĥ man vuṯẖā āp pūre bẖagaṯ se. ||2||
Those, in whose minds You Yourself dwell, O Lord, are the perfect devotees. ||2||
