ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮਾ ਰਾਮਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
राम रामा रामा गुन गावउ ॥
Rām rāmā rāmā gun gāva▫o.
I sing the praise of the All-pervading Lord.

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਿ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
संत प्रतापि साध कै संगे हरि हरि नामु धिआवउ रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṯ parṯāp sāḏẖ kai sange har har nām ḏẖi▫āva▫o re. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By saints greatness I, in the saints congregation utter the Name of Lord God. Pause.

ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਈ ॥
सगल समग्री जा कै सूति परोई ॥
Sagal samagrī jā kai sūṯ paro▫ī.
On whose thread all the things are strung,
|
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
घट घट अंतरि रविआ सोई ॥२॥
Gẖat gẖat anṯar ravi▫ā so▫ī. ||2||
He, the Lord, is contained in all the hearts.
|
ਓਪਤਿ ਪਰਲਉ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
ओपति परलउ खिन महि करता ॥
Opaṯ parla▫o kẖin mėh karṯā.
Evolution and destruction, He, the Lord, does in a moment.
|
ਆਪਿ ਅਲੇਪਾ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੩॥
आपि अलेपा निरगुनु रहता ॥३॥
Āp alepā nirgun rahṯā. ||3||
The Absolute Lord Himself remains detached.
|
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
करन करावन अंतरजामी ॥
Karan karāvan anṯarjāmī.
The searcher of Hearts is the Designer of causes.
|
ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੬੪॥
अनंद करै नानक का सुआमी ॥४॥१३॥६४॥
Anand karai Nānak kā su▫āmī. ||4||13||64||
Nanak's Lord ever makes merry.

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਰਹੇ ਭਵਾਰੇ ॥
कोटि जनम के रहे भवारे ॥
Kot janam ke rahe bẖavāre.
My rounds in millions of births have ceased.
|
ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਜੀਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
दुलभ देह जीती नही हारे ॥१॥
Ḏulabẖ ḏeh jīṯī nahī hāre. ||1||
I have won and not lost this rarely procurable human body.
|
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦੁਖ ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
किलबिख बिनासे दुख दरद दूरि ॥
Kilbikẖ bināse ḏukẖ ḏaraḏ ḏūr.
My sins have been annulled, and gone are my sufferings and agonies.

ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
भए पुनीत संतन की धूरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bẖa▫e punīṯ sanṯan kī ḏẖūr. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Pure I have become with the dust of saints feet. Pause.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਜੋਗ ॥
प्रभ के संत उधारन जोग ॥
Parabẖ ke sanṯ uḏẖāran jog.
Lord's saint are potent to save.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੨॥
तिसु भेटे जिसु धुरि संजोग ॥२॥
Ŧis bẖete jis ḏẖur sanjog. ||2||
Meet they him, who is predestined to meet them.
|
ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
मनि आनंदु मंत्रु गुरि दीआ ॥
Man ānanḏ manṯar gur ḏī▫ā.
Happy is my mind, the Guru has given me the spell of Lord's Name.

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥
त्रिसन बुझी मनु निहचलु थीआ ॥३॥
Ŧarisan bujẖī man nihcẖal thī▫ā. ||3||
My desire is extinguished, and my soul has become constant.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ॥
नामु पदारथु नउ निधि सिधि ॥
Nām paḏārath na▫o niḏẖ siḏẖ.
The Name's wealth is my nine treasure and miraculous powers.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਬੁਧਿ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੬੫॥
नानक गुर ते पाई बुधि ॥४॥१४॥६५॥
Nānak gur ṯe pā▫ī buḏẖ. ||4||14||65||
From the Guru, O Nanak, I have obtained understanding.

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
आसा महला ५ ॥

Asa 5th Guru.
|
ਮਿਟੀ ਤਿਆਸ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੇ ॥
मिटी तिआस अगिआन अंधेरे ॥
Mitī ṯi▫ās agi▫ān anḏẖere.
My thirst and darkness of ignorance are removed.
|
ਸਾਧ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਘ ਕਟੇ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥੧॥
साध सेवा अघ कटे घनेरे ॥१॥
Sāḏẖ sevā agẖ kate gẖanere. ||1||
By saints service, many sins are obliterated.
|
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਘਨਾ ॥
सूख सहज आनंदु घना ॥
Sūkẖ sahj ānanḏ gẖanā.
I have attained celestial peace and immense joy.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर सेवा ते भए मन निरमल हरि हरि हरि हरि नामु सुना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur sevā ṯe bẖa▫e man nirmal har har har har nām sunā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By Guru's service, my mind has become immaculate and I have heard the Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord's Name. Pause.

ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਢੀਠਾ ॥
बिनसिओ मन का मूरखु ढीठा ॥
Binsi▫o man kā mūrakẖ dẖīṯẖā.
The foolish shamelessness of my soul is gone.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਲਾਗਾ ਮੀਠਾ ॥੨॥
प्रभ का भाणा लागा मीठा ॥२॥
Parabẖ kā bẖāṇā lāgā mīṯẖā. ||2||
Lord's will has become sweet unto me.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ॥
गुर पूरे के चरण गहे ॥
Gur pūre ke cẖaraṇ gahe.
I have grasped the feet of the Perfect Guru,
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਹੇ ॥੩॥
कोटि जनम के पाप लहे ॥३॥
Kot janam ke pāp lahe. ||3||
and the sins of myriads of births of mind, have been washed off.
|
ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਇਹੁ ਸਫਲ ਭਇਆ ॥
रतन जनमु इहु सफल भइआ ॥
Raṯan janam ih safal bẖa▫i▫ā.
This jewel like life of mine has become fruitful.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰੀ ਮਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੬੬॥
कहु नानक प्रभ करी मइआ ॥४॥१५॥६६॥
Kaho Nānak parabẖ karī ma▫i▫ā. ||4||15||66||
Says Nanak, the Lord has shown mercy unto me.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥
सतिगुरु अपना सद सदा सम्हारे ॥
Saṯgur apnā saḏ saḏā samĥāre.
Ever, ever, I think of the True Guru,

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਕੇਸ ਸੰਗਿ ਝਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
गुर के चरन केस संगि झारे ॥१॥
Gur ke cẖaran kes sang jẖāre. ||1||
and the Guru's feet I brush with my head's hair.
|
ਜਾਗੁ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਗਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
जागु रे मन जागनहारे ॥
Jāg re man jāganhāre.
Be wakeful, O my awaking soul.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਆਵਸਿ ਕਾਮਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिनु हरि अवरु न आवसि कामा झूठा मोहु मिथिआ पसारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin har avar na āvas kāmā jẖūṯẖā moh mithi▫ā pasāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without God, nothing shall be of avail unto Thee, and false is the worldly attachment and vain the worldly involvements. Pause.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
गुर की बाणी सिउ रंगु लाइ ॥
Gur kī baṇī si▫o rang lā▫e.
Embrace through the love for Guru's hymns.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुरु किरपालु होइ दुखु जाइ ॥२॥
Gur kirpāl ho▫e ḏukẖ jā▫e. ||2||
If the Guru becomes merciful, then is the pain destroyed.
|
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
गुर बिनु दूजा नाही थाउ ॥
Gur bin ḏūjā nāhī thā▫o.
Without the Guru, there is no other place or rest.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥੩॥
गुरु दाता गुरु देवै नाउ ॥३॥
Gur ḏāṯā gur ḏevai nā▫o. ||3||
The Guru is giver, and the Guru bestows the Name.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਆਪਿ ॥
गुरु पारब्रहमु परमेसरु आपि ॥
Gur pārbarahm parmesar āp.
The Guru himself is the transcendent Lord and the supreme master.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੬੭॥
आठ पहर नानक गुर जापि ॥४॥१६॥६७॥
Āṯẖ pahar Nānak gur jāp. ||4||16||67||
Throughout the eight watches of the day, O Nanak meditate thou on the Guru.

ਆਪੇ ਪੇਡੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੀ ਸਾਖ ॥
आपे पेडु बिसथारी साख ॥
Āpe ped bisthārī sākẖ.
The Lord himself is the tree and its extended branches.
|
ਅਪਨੀ ਖੇਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਖ ॥੧॥
अपनी खेती आपे राख ॥१॥
Apnī kẖeṯī āpe rākẖ. ||1||
His own crop, He himself preserve.
|
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਏਕੈ ਓਹੀ ॥
जत कत पेखउ एकै ओही ॥
Jaṯ kaṯ pekẖa▫o ekai ohī.
Where ever I behold, I behold that Lord alone.
|
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
घट घट अंतरि आपे सोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gẖat gẖat anṯar āpe so▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Among all the hearts, he himself is contained. Pause.
|
ਆਪੇ ਸੂਰੁ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ ॥
आपे सूरु किरणि बिसथारु ॥
Āpe sūr kiraṇ bisthār.
He himself is the sun and the expanse of its rays.
|
ਸੋਈ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਸੋਈ ਆਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
सोई गुपतु सोई आकारु ॥२॥
So▫ī gupaṯ so▫ī ākār. ||2||
He is concealed and He is apparent.
|
ਸਰਗੁਣ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਥਾਪੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
सरगुण निरगुण थापै नाउ ॥
Sarguṇ nirguṇ thāpai nā▫o.
Attached and above attachments, are the Names, He is described with.
|
ਦੁਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਠਾਉ ॥੩॥
दुह मिलि एकै कीनो ठाउ ॥३॥
Ḏuh mil ekai kīno ṯẖā▫o. ||3||
And in him -the unique Lord both converge on the single place.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਖੋਇਆ ॥
कहु नानक गुरि भ्रमु भउ खोइआ ॥
Kaho Nānak gur bẖaram bẖa▫o kẖo▫i▫ā.
Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt and dread.

ਅਨਦ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨੈਨ ਅਲੋਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੬੮॥
अनद रूपु सभु नैन अलोइआ ॥४॥१७॥६८॥
Anaḏ rūp sabẖ nain alo▫i▫ā. ||4||17||68||
God, the embodiment of bliss, I, now, perceive everywhere with my eyes.
