ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਬ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
भए अनंद मिलि साधू संगि अब मेरा मनु कत ही न जाइ ॥१॥
Bẖa▫e anand mil sāḏẖū sang ab merā man kaṯ hī na jā▫e. ||1||
I am in bliss, meeting with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and now, my mind does not go wandering. ||1||

ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਾਇ
तपति बुझी गुर सबदी माइ ॥
Ŧapaṯ bujẖī gur sabḏī mā▫e.
My burning desires are quenched, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, O mother.

ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਇਓ ਤਾਪ ਸਭ ਸਹਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
बिनसि गइओ ताप सभ सहसा गुरु सीतलु मिलिओ सहजि सुभाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Binas ga▫i▫o ṯāp sabẖ sahsā gur sīṯal mili▫o sahj subẖā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The fever of doubt has been totally eliminated; meeting the Guru, I am cooled and soothed, with intuitive ease. ||1||Pause||

ਧਾਵਤ ਰਹੇ ਏਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਬੂਝਿਆ ਆਇ ਬਸੇ ਅਬ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਥਾਇ
धावत रहे एकु इकु बूझिआ आइ बसे अब निहचलु थाइ ॥
Ḏẖāvaṯ rahe ek ik būjẖi▫ā ā▫e base ab nihcẖal thā▫e.
My wandering has ended, since I have realized the One and Only Lord; now, I have come to dwell in the eternal place.

ਜਗਤੁ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਸੰਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਇ ॥੨॥
जगतु उधारन संत तुमारे दरसनु पेखत रहे अघाइ ॥२॥
Jagaṯ uḏẖāran sanṯ ṯumāre ḏarsan pekẖaṯ rahe agẖā▫e. ||2||
Your Saints are the Saving Grace of the world; beholding the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, I remain satisfied. ||2||

ਜਨਮ ਦੋਖ ਪਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਛੈ ਅਬ ਪਕਰੇ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਾਇ
जनम दोख परे मेरे पाछै अब पकरे निहचलु साधू पाइ ॥
Janam ḏokẖ pare mere pācẖẖai ab pakre nihcẖal sāḏẖū pā▫e.
I have left behind the sins of countless incarnations, now that I have grasped the feet of the eternal Holy Guru.

ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਮੰਗਲ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਬ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਫੁਨਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਖਾਇ ॥੩॥
सहज धुनि गावै मंगल मनूआ अब ता कउ फुनि कालु न खाइ ॥३॥
Sahj ḏẖun gāvai mangal manū▫ā ab ṯā ka▫o fun kāl na kẖā▫e. ||3||
My mind sings the celestial melody of bliss and death shall no longer consume it. ||3||

ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮਰਥ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ
करन कारन समरथ हमारे सुखदाई मेरे हरि हरि राइ ॥
Karan kāran samrath hamāre sukẖ▫ḏā▫ī mere har har rā▫e.
My Lord, the Cause of all causes, is All-powerful, the Giver of peace; He is my Lord, my Lord King.

ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੪॥੯॥
नामु तेरा जपि जीवै नानकु ओति पोति मेरै संगि सहाइ ॥४॥९॥
Nām ṯerā jap jīvai Nānak oṯ poṯ merai sang sahā▫e. ||4||9||
Nanak lives by chanting Your Name, O Lord; You are my helper, with me, through and through. ||4||9||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला ५ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 5.
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਰੜਾਵੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਵੈ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ
अरड़ावै बिललावै निंदकु ॥
Arṛāvai billāvai ninḏak.
The slanderer cries out and bewails.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਾਵੈ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
पारब्रहमु परमेसरु बिसरिआ अपणा कीता पावै निंदकु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pārbarahm parmesar bisri▫ā apṇā kīṯā pāvai ninḏak. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He has forgotten the Supreme Lord, the Transcendent Lord; the slanderer reaps the rewards of his own actions. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਲੇ ਲਏ ਸਿਧਾਵੈ
जे कोई उस का संगी होवै नाले लए सिधावै ॥
Je ko▫ī us kā sangī hovai nāle la▫e siḏẖāvai.
If someone is his companion, then he shall be taken along with him.

ਅਣਹੋਦਾ ਅਜਗਰੁ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਠਾਏ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਅਗਨੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਜਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
अणहोदा अजगरु भारु उठाए निंदकु अगनी माहि जलावै ॥१॥
Aṇhoḏā ajgar bẖār uṯẖā▫e ninḏak agnī māhi jalāvai. ||1||
Like the dragon, the slanderer carries his huge, useless loads, and burns in his own fire. ||1||

ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਜਿ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਤੀਤੈ ਸੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ
परमेसर कै दुआरै जि होइ बितीतै सु नानकु आखि सुणावै ॥
Parmesar kai ḏu▫ārai jė ho▫e biṯīṯai so Nānak ākẖ suṇāvai.
Nanak proclaims and announces what happens at the Door of the Transcendent Lord.

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਇ ਬਿਗਸਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੧੦॥
भगत जना कउ सदा अनंदु है हरि कीरतनु गाइ बिगसावै ॥२॥१०॥
Bẖagaṯ janā ka▫o saḏā anand hai har kīrṯan gā▫e bigsāvai. ||2||10||
The humble devotees of the Lord are forever in bliss; singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, they blossom forth. ||2||10||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ
आसा महला ५ ॥
Āsā mėhlā 5.
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਉ ਮੈ ਕੀਓ ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰਾ
जउ मै कीओ सगल सीगारा ॥
Ja▫o mai kī▫o sagal sīgārā.
Even though I totally decorated myself,

ਤਉ ਭੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਪਤੀਆਰਾ
तउ भी मेरा मनु न पतीआरा ॥
Ŧa▫o bẖī merā man na paṯī▫ārā.
still, my mind was not satisfied.

ਅਨਿਕ ਸੁਗੰਧਤ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਵਉ
अनिक सुगंधत तन महि लावउ ॥
Anik suganḏẖaṯ ṯan mėh lāva▫o.
I applied various scented oils to my body,

ਓਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਸਮਾਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵਉ
ओहु सुखु तिलु समानि नही पावउ ॥
Oh sukẖ ṯil samān nahī pāva▫o.
and yet, I did not obtain even a tiny bit of pleasure from this.

ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਐਸੀ ਆਸਾਈ
मन महि चितवउ ऐसी आसाई ॥
Man mėh cẖiṯva▫o aisī āsā▫ī.
Within my mind, I hold such a desire,

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਦੇਖਤ ਜੀਵਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
प्रिअ देखत जीवउ मेरी माई ॥१॥
Pari▫a ḏekẖaṯ jīva▫o merī mā▫ī. ||1||
that I may live only to behold my Beloved, O my mother. ||1||

ਮਾਈ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਉ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰੈ
माई कहा करउ इहु मनु न धीरै ॥
Mā▫ī kahā kara▫o ih man na ḏẖīrai.
O mother, what should I do? This mind cannot rest.

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਹਿਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
प्रिअ प्रीतम बैरागु हिरै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pari▫a parīṯam bairāg hirai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
It is bewitched by the tender love of my Beloved. ||1||Pause||

ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਭੂਖਨ ਸੁਖ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਿਸੇਖੈ
बसत्र बिभूखन सुख बहुत बिसेखै ॥
Basṯar bibẖūkẖan sukẖ bahuṯ bisekẖai.
Garments, ornaments, and such exquisite pleasures -

ਓਇ ਭੀ ਜਾਨਉ ਕਿਤੈ ਲੇਖੈ
ओइ भी जानउ कितै न लेखै ॥
O▫e bẖī jān▫o kiṯai na lekẖai.
I look upon these as of no account.

ਪਤਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਮਹਤੁ
पति सोभा अरु मानु महतु ॥
Paṯ sobẖā ar mān mahaṯ.
Likewise, honor, fame, dignity and greatness,

ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ
आगिआकारी सगल जगतु ॥
Āgi▫ākārī sagal jagaṯ.
obedience by the whole world,

ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਲਾਲ
ग्रिहु ऐसा है सुंदर लाल ॥
Garihu aisā hai sunḏar lāl.
and a household as beautiful as a jewel.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥
प्रभ भावा ता सदा निहाल ॥२॥
Parabẖ bẖāvā ṯā saḏā nihāl. ||2||
If I am pleasing to God's Will, then I shall be blessed, and forever in bliss. ||2||

ਬਿੰਜਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਪਰਕਾਰ
बिंजन भोजन अनिक परकार ॥
Binjan bẖojan anik parkār.
With foods and delicacies of so many different kinds,

ਰੰਗ ਤਮਾਸੇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ
रंग तमासे बहुतु बिसथार ॥
Rang ṯamāse bahuṯ bisthār.
and such abundant pleasures and entertainments,

ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਖ ਅਰੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਸਿ
राज मिलख अरु बहुतु फुरमाइसि ॥
Rāj milakẖ ar bahuṯ furmā▫is.
power and property and absolute command -

ਮਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਾਇਸਿ
मनु नही ध्रापै त्रिसना न जाइसि ॥
Man nahī ḏẖarāpai ṯarisnā nā jā▫is.
with these, the mind is not satisfied, and its thirst is not quenched.

ਬਿਨੁ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਇਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਬਿਹਾਵੈ
बिनु मिलबे इहु दिनु न बिहावै ॥
Bin milbe ih ḏin na bihāvai.
Without meeting Him, this day does not pass.

ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
मिलै प्रभू ता सभ सुख पावै ॥३॥
Milai parabẖū ṯā sabẖ sukẖ pāvai. ||3||
Meeting God, I find peace. ||3||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਸੁਨੀ ਇਹ ਸੋਇ
खोजत खोजत सुनी इह सोइ ॥
Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ sunī ih so▫e.
By searching and seeking, I have heard this news,

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਤਰਿਓ ਕੋਇ
साधसंगति बिनु तरिओ न कोइ ॥
Sāḏẖsangaṯ bin ṯari▫o na ko▫e.
that without the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, no one swims across.

ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ
जिसु मसतकि भागु तिनि सतिगुरु पाइआ ॥
Jis masṯak bẖāg ṯin saṯgur pā▫i▫ā.
One who has this good destiny written upon his forehead, finds the True Guru.

ਪੂਰੀ ਆਸਾ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇਆ
पूरी आसा मनु त्रिपताइआ ॥
Pūrī āsā man ṯaripṯā▫i▫ā.
His hopes are fulfilled, and his mind is satisfied.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਾ ਚੂਕੀ ਡੰਝਾ
प्रभ मिलिआ ता चूकी डंझा ॥
Parabẖ mili▫ā ṯā cẖūkī danjẖā.
When one meets God, then his thirst is quenched.

ਨਾਨਕ ਲਧਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਮੰਝਾ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
नानक लधा मन तन मंझा ॥४॥११॥
Nānak laḏẖā man ṯan manjẖā. ||4||11||
Nanak has found the Lord, within his mind and body. ||4||11||

आसा महला ५ पंचपदे ॥
Āsā mėhlā 5 pancẖpaḏe.
