ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਰਸ ਭੋਗੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अम्रितु नामु निरंजन पाइआ गिआन काइआ रस भोगं ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Amriṯ nām niranjan pā▫i▫ā gi▫ān kā▫i▫ā ras bẖogaʼn. ||1|| rahā▫o.
One who has obtained the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Immaculate Lord - his body enjoys the pleasure of spiritual wisdom. ||1||Pause||

ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣਿ ਬੈਸਉ ਕਲਪ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਬਾਦੰ ॥
सिव नगरी महि आसणि बैसउ कलप तिआगी बादं ॥
Siv nagrī mėh āsaṇ baisa▫o kalap ṯi▫āgī bāḏaʼn.
In the Lord's City, he sits in his Yogic posture, and he forsakes his desires and conflicts.

ਸਿੰਙੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਧੁਨਿ ਸੋਹੈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਦੰ ॥੨॥
सिंङी सबदु सदा धुनि सोहै अहिनिसि पूरै नादं ॥२॥
Sińī sabaḏ saḏā ḏẖun sohai ahinis pūrai nāḏaʼn. ||2||
The sound of the horn ever rings out its beautiful melody, and day and night, he is filled with the sound current of the Naad. ||2||

ਪਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਗਿਆਨ ਮਤਿ ਡੰਡਾ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਬਿਭੂਤੰ ॥
पतु वीचारु गिआन मति डंडा वरतमान बिभूतं ॥
Paṯ vīcẖār gi▫ān maṯ dandā varaṯmān bibẖūṯaʼn.
My cup is reflective meditation, and spiritual wisdom is my walking stick; to dwell in the Lord's Presence is the ashes I apply to my body.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਰਹਰਾਸਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਅਤੀਤੰ ॥੩॥
हरि कीरति रहरासि हमारी गुरमुखि पंथु अतीतं ॥३॥
Har kīraṯ rahrās hamārī gurmukẖ panth aṯīṯaʼn. ||3||
The Praise of the Lord is my occupation; and to live as Gurmukh is my pure religion. ||3||

ਸਗਲੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸੰਮਿਆ ਨਾਨਾ ਵਰਨ ਅਨੇਕੰ ॥
सगली जोति हमारी समिआ नाना वरन अनेकं ॥
Saglī joṯ hamārī sammi▫ā nānā varan anekaʼn.
My arm-rest is to see the Lord's Light in all, although their forms and colors are so numerous.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਿ ਭਰਥਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲਿਵ ਏਕੰ ॥੪॥੩॥੩੭॥
कहु नानक सुणि भरथरि जोगी पारब्रहम लिव एकं ॥४॥३॥३७॥
Kaho Nānak suṇ bẖarthar jogī pārbarahm liv ekaʼn. ||4||3||37||
Says Nanak, listen, O Bharthari Yogi: love only the Supreme Lord God. ||4||3||37||

ਗੁੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਕਸੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
गुड़ु करि गिआनु धिआनु करि धावै करि करणी कसु पाईऐ ॥
Guṛ kar gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān kar ḏẖāvai kar karṇī kas pā▫ī▫ai.
Make spiritual wisdom your molasses, and meditation your scented flowers; let good deeds be the herbs.

ਭਾਠੀ ਭਵਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਾ ਪੋਚਾ ਇਤੁ ਰਸਿ ਅਮਿਉ ਚੁਆਈਐ ॥੧॥
भाठी भवनु प्रेम का पोचा इतु रसि अमिउ चुआईऐ ॥१॥
Bẖāṯẖī bẖavan parem kā pocẖā iṯ ras ami▫o cẖu▫ā▫ī▫ai. ||1||
Let devotional faith be the distilling fire, and your love the ceramic cup. Thus the sweet nectar of life is distilled. ||1||

ਬਾਬਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਤਵਾਰੋ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਸਹਜ ਰੰਗ ਰਚਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
बाबा मनु मतवारो नाम रसु पीवै सहज रंग रचि रहिआ ॥
Bābā man maṯvāro nām ras pīvai sahj rang racẖ rahi▫ā.
O Baba, the mind is intoxicated with the Naam, drinking in its Nectar. It remains absorbed in the Lord's Love.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਬਨੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦ ਗਹਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अहिनिसि बनी प्रेम लिव लागी सबदु अनाहद गहिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ahinis banī parem liv lāgī sabaḏ anāhaḏ gahi▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Night and day, remaining attached to the Love of the Lord, the celestial music of the Shabad resounds. ||1||Pause||

ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪੀਆਏ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥
पूरा साचु पिआला सहजे तिसहि पीआए जा कउ नदरि करे ॥
Pūrā sācẖ pi▫ālā sėhje ṯisėh pī▫ā▫e jā ka▫o naḏar kare.
The Perfect Lord naturally gives the cup of Truth, to the one upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਮਦਿ ਛੂਛੈ ਭਾਉ ਧਰੇ ॥੨॥
अम्रित का वापारी होवै किआ मदि छूछै भाउ धरे ॥२॥
Amriṯ kā vāpārī hovai ki▫ā maḏ cẖẖūcẖẖai bẖā▫o ḏẖare. ||2||
One who trades in this Nectar - how could he ever love the wine of the world? ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਪੀਵਤ ਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
गुर की साखी अम्रित बाणी पीवत ही परवाणु भइआ ॥
Gur kī sākẖī amriṯ baṇī pīvaṯ hī parvāṇ bẖa▫i▫ā.
The Teachings of the Guru, the Ambrosial Bani - drinking them in, one becomes acceptable and renowned.

ਦਰ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੈ ਕਰੈ ਕਿਆ ॥੩॥
दर दरसन का प्रीतमु होवै मुकति बैकुंठै करै किआ ॥३॥
Ḏar ḏarsan kā parīṯam hovai mukaṯ baikunṯẖe karai ki▫ā. ||3||
Unto the one who loves the Lord's Court, and the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, of what use is liberation or paradise? ||3||

ਸਿਫਤੀ ਰਤਾ ਸਦ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹਾਰੈ ॥
सिफती रता सद बैरागी जूऐ जनमु न हारै ॥
Sifṯī raṯā saḏ bairāgī jū▫ai janam na hārai.
Imbued with the Lord's Praises, one is forever a Bairaagee, a renunciate, and one's life is not lost in the gamble.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਿ ਭਰਥਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਖੀਵਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੪॥੩੮॥
कहु नानक सुणि भरथरि जोगी खीवा अम्रित धारै ॥४॥४॥३८॥
Kaho Nānak suṇ bẖarthar jogī kẖīvā amriṯ ḏẖārai. ||4||4||38||
Says Nanak, listen, O Bharthari Yogi: drink in the intoxicating nectar of the Lord. ||4||4||38||

ਖੁਰਾਸਾਨ ਖਸਮਾਨਾ ਕੀਆ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨੁ ਡਰਾਇਆ ॥
खुरासान खसमाना कीआ हिंदुसतानु डराइआ ॥
Kẖurāsān kẖasmānā kī▫ā hinḏusaṯān darā▫i▫ā.
Having attacked Khuraasaan, Baabar terrified Hindustan.

ਆਪੈ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਗਲੁ ਚੜਾਇਆ ॥
आपै दोसु न देई करता जमु करि मुगलु चड़ाइआ ॥
Āpai ḏos na ḏe▫ī karṯā jam kar mugal cẖaṛā▫i▫ā.
The Creator Himself does not take the blame, but has sent the Mogal as the messenger of death.

ਏਤੀ ਮਾਰ ਪਈ ਕਰਲਾਣੇ ਤੈਂ ਕੀ ਦਰਦੁ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
एती मार पई करलाणे तैं की दरदु न आइआ ॥१॥
Ėṯī mār pa▫ī karlāṇe ṯaiʼn kī ḏaraḏ na ā▫i▫ā. ||1||
There was so much slaughter that the people screamed. Didn't You feel compassion, Lord? ||1||
|
ਕਰਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
करता तूं सभना का सोई ॥
Karṯā ṯūʼn sabẖnā kā so▫ī.
O Creator Lord, You are the Master of all.
|
ਜੇ ਸਕਤਾ ਸਕਤੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਰੋਸੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जे सकता सकते कउ मारे ता मनि रोसु न होई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Je sakṯā sakṯe ka▫o māre ṯā man ros na ho▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
If some powerful man strikes out against another man, then no one feels any grief in their mind. ||1||Pause||

ਸਕਤਾ ਸੀਹੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਪੈ ਵਗੈ ਖਸਮੈ ਸਾ ਪੁਰਸਾਈ ॥
सकता सीहु मारे पै वगै खसमै सा पुरसाई ॥
Sakṯā sīhu māre pai vagai kẖasmai sā pursā▫ī.
But if a powerful tiger attacks a flock of sheep and kills them, then its master must answer for it.

ਰਤਨ ਵਿਗਾੜਿ ਵਿਗੋਏ ਕੁਤੀ ਮੁਇਆ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
रतन विगाड़ि विगोए कुतीं मुइआ सार न काई ॥
Raṯan vigāṛ vigo▫e kuṯīʼn mu▫i▫ā sār na kā▫ī.
This priceless country has been laid waste and defiled by dogs, and no one pays any attention to the dead.

ਆਪੇ ਜੋੜਿ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨॥
आपे जोड़ि विछोड़े आपे वेखु तेरी वडिआई ॥२॥
Āpe joṛ vicẖẖoṛe āpe vekẖ ṯerī vadi▫ā▫ī. ||2||
You Yourself unite, and You Yourself separate; I gaze upon Your Glorious Greatness. ||2||

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ਧਰਾਏ ਵਡਾ ਸਾਦ ਕਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
जे को नाउ धराए वडा साद करे मनि भाणे ॥
Je ko nā▫o ḏẖarā▫e vadā sāḏ kare man bẖāṇe.
One may give himself a great name, and revel in the pleasures of the mind,
|
ਖਸਮੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਕੀੜਾ ਆਵੈ ਜੇਤੇ ਚੁਗੈ ਦਾਣੇ ॥
खसमै नदरी कीड़ा आवै जेते चुगै दाणे ॥
Kẖasmai naḏrī kīṛā āvai jeṯe cẖugai ḏāṇe.
but in the Eyes of the Lord and Master, he is just a worm, for all the corn that he eats.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥੩॥੫॥੩੯॥
मरि मरि जीवै ता किछु पाए नानक नामु वखाणे ॥३॥५॥३९॥
Mar mar jīvai ṯā kicẖẖ pā▫e Nānak nām vakẖāṇe. ||3||5||39||
Only one who dies to his ego while yet alive, obtains the blessings, O Nanak, by chanting the Lord's Name. ||3||5||39||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਵਡਭਾਗਿ ॥
हरि दरसनु पावै वडभागि ॥
Har ḏarsan pāvai vadbẖāg.
The Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan is obtained by great good fortune.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ॥
गुर कै सबदि सचै बैरागि ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ sacẖai bairāg.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, true detachment is obtained.

ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥
खटु दरसनु वरतै वरतारा ॥
Kẖat ḏarsan varṯai varṯārā.
The six systems of philosophy are pervasive,
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
गुर का दरसनु अगम अपारा ॥१॥
Gur kā ḏarsan agam apārā. ||1||
but the Guru's system is profound and unequalled. ||1||
