ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਕਿਉ ਮੁਕਰਿ ਪਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ suṇḏā vekẖ▫ḏā ki▫o mukar pa▫i▫ā jā▫e.
The Lord Hears and Sees every thing. How can, then, man refuse to admit?

ਪਾਪੋ ਪਾਪੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਪਾਪੇ ਪਚਹਿ ਪਚਾਇ ॥
Pāpo pāp kamāvḏe pāpe pacẖėh pacẖā▫e.
They, who commit sins upon sins, putrefy and die in sins.
|
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
So parabẖ naḏar na āvī manmukẖ būjẖ na pā▫e.
That Lord they perceive not. The self-willed obtain not understanding.

ਜਿਸੁ ਵੇਖਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੫੬॥
Jis vekẖāle so▫ī vekẖai Nānak gurmukẖ pā▫e. ||4||23||56||
He alone, whom God shows, sees Him. O Nanak! through the Guru He is obtained.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਤੁਟਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਪੀੜ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Bin gur rog na ṯut▫ī ha▫umai pīṛ na jā▫e.
Without the Guru disease is not cured nor is the pain of pride removed.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
Gur parsādī man vasai nāme rahai samā▫e.
By Guru's grace God dwells in the mind and man remains merged in His Name.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
Gur sabḏī har pā▫ī▫ai bin sabḏai bẖaram bẖulā▫e. ||1||
Through Guru's hymns God is obtained. Without Gurbani the man is lost in doubt.

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Man re nij gẖar vāsā ho▫e.
O my Soul! thou shalt dwell in thy real Home.
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Rām nām sālāhi ṯū fir āvaṇ jāṇ na ho▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Praise the name of the Lord thou shalt not again come and go. Pause.
|
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
Har iko ḏāṯā varaṯḏā ḏūjā avar na ko▫e.
God alone, the Bestower, is doing everything. There is no other second.
|
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sabaḏ sālāhī man vasai sėhje hī sukẖ ho▫e.
If thou praise the Lord, He shall abide in thy mind and thou shalt automatically obtain peace.

ਸਭ ਨਦਰੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੨॥
Sabẖ naḏrī anḏar vekẖ▫ḏā jai bẖāvai ṯai ḏe▫e. ||2||
God beholds (keeps) all under His glance, He gives gift to Him whom He likes.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਾ ਗਣਤ ਹੈ ਗਣਤੈ ਨਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Ha▫umai sabẖā gaṇaṯ hai gaṇṯai na▫o sukẖ nāhi.
In pride are all counts. Unto counting one's doings there is no solace.
|
ਬਿਖੁ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
Bikẖ kī kār kamāvṇī bikẖ hī māhi samāhi.
Men take to evil ways and sink in evil.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਠਉਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ ਜਮਪੁਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
Bin nāvai ṯẖa▫ur na pā▫inī jam pur ḏūkẖ sahāhi. ||3||
Without Lord's Name, they find no resting place and suffer agony in the city of death.
|
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
Jī▫o pind sabẖ ṯis ḏā ṯisai ḏā āḏẖār.
The soul and body all being to Him and there is no support except that of Him.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਤਾ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
Gur parsādī bujẖī▫ai ṯā pā▫e mokẖ ḏu▫ār.
If by Guru's grace, man understand this it is then, that he attains to the door of salvation.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੫੭॥
Nānak nām salāhi ṯūʼn anṯ na pārāvār. ||4||24||57||
O Nanak! sing thou the praises of the Name of God whose limit, this and that end, no one knows.

ਤਿਨਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
Ŧinā anand saḏā sukẖ hai jinā sacẖ nām āḏẖār.
They alone are in joy and ever-lasting peace who have the support of the True Name.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
Gur sabḏī sacẖ pā▫i▫ā ḏūkẖ nivāraṇhār.
By Guru's gospel they have obtained the True Being, the Destroyer of distress.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
Saḏā saḏā sācẖe guṇ gāvahi sācẖai nā▫e pi▫ār.
For ever and aye, they sing the praises of the True Lord and profess love for the True Name.
|
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਿਤੋਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Kirpā kar kai āpṇī ḏiṯon bẖagaṯ bẖandār. ||1||
By showing His Mercy, the Lord has bestowed on them the treasures of His devotion.
|
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
Man re saḏā anand guṇ gā▫e.
O My mind! everlasting bliss is acquired by singing Lord's praises.
|
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sacẖī baṇī har pā▫ī▫ai har si▫o rahai samā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Through the True Word God is gained and man remains blended with God. Pause.
|
ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਲੁ ਥੀਆ ਰਤਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
Sacẖī bẖagṯī man lāl thī▫ā raṯā sahj subẖā▫e.
With sincere worship, the mind goes red and is naturally, imbued with Lord's love.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Gur sabḏī man mohi▫ā kahṇā kacẖẖū na jā▫e.
By Guru's Word the soul is so bewitched that its description cannot be given.

ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰਤੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਰਸਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
Jihvā raṯī sabaḏ sacẖai amriṯ pīvai ras guṇ gā▫e.
The tongue is imbued with the True Name. It delightfully quaffs the Nectar of chanting God's glories.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
Gurmukẖ ehu rang pā▫ī▫ai jis no kirpā kare rajā▫e. ||2||
He, unto whom the Lord of Will shows mercy, obtains this Divine love, through the Guru.
|
ਸੰਸਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਸੁਤਿਆ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
Sansā ih sansār hai suṯi▫ā raiṇ vihā▫e.
This word is asleep in an illusion and in sleep the night (life) passes away.
|
ਇਕਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਕਢਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
Ik āpṇai bẖāṇai kadẖ la▫i▫an āpe la▫i▫on milā▫e.
Some He delivers of His own will and unites with Himself.
|
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥
Āpe hī āp man vasi▫ā mā▫i▫ā moh cẖukā▫e.
He Himself abides within (man's) mind and drives off love of mammon.
|
ਆਪਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਦਿਤੀਅਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੩॥
Āp vadā▫ī ḏiṯī▫an gurmukẖ ḏe▫e bujẖā▫e. ||3||
He Himself bestows honour and causes Himself to be understood through the Guru.
|
ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਭੁਲਿਆ ਲਏ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥
Sabẖnā kā ḏāṯā ek hai bẖuli▫ā la▫e samjẖā▫e.
The Lord alone is the Giver for all. He corrects those in error.

ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਖੁਆਇਅਨੁ ਦੂਜੈ ਛਡਿਅਨੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
Ik āpe āp kẖu▫ā▫i▫an ḏūjai cẖẖadi▫an lā▫e.
He Himself has misled some and has attached them to duality.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
Gurmaṯī har pā▫ī▫ai joṯī joṯ milā▫e.
Under Guru's instruction God is attained and man's soul merges with the Supreme Soul.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੫੮॥
An▫ḏin nāme raṯi▫ā Nānak nām samā▫e. ||4||25||58||
By remaining imbued with Lord's Name night and day, O Nanak! mortal is absorbed in the Name.

ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
Guṇvanṯī sacẖ pā▫i▫ā ṯarisnā ṯaj vikār.
The virtuous attained the Truth by forsaking desire for vice.7
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
Gur sabḏī man rangi▫ā rasnā parem pi▫ār.
The mind of such is dyed in Guru's word and on their tongue is the love and affection of God.
