ਰਹਿਓ ਝਝਕਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥
रहिओ झझकि नाही परवाना ॥
Rahi▫o jẖajẖak nāhī parvānā.
Thou shrinkest back and art not acceptable to God.
|
ਕਤ ਝਖਿ ਝਖਿ ਅਉਰਨ ਸਮਝਾਵਾ ॥
कत झखि झखि अउरन समझावा ॥
Kaṯ jẖakẖ jẖakẖ a▫uran samjẖāvā.
Why talk nonsense to convince other?
|
ਝਗਰੁ ਕੀਏ ਝਗਰਉ ਹੀ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੧੫॥
झगरु कीए झगरउ ही पावा ॥१५॥
Jẖagar kī▫e jẖagara▫o hī pāvā. ||15||
By stirring up controversy, controversy thou shalt have.
|
ਞੰਞਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਜੁ ਘਟ ਰਹਿਓ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਹਾ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
ञंञा निकटि जु घट रहिओ दूरि कहा तजि जाइ ॥
Ñañā nikat jo gẖat rahi▫o ḏūr kahā ṯaj jā▫e.
Nj--The Lord abides near thee in thy heart. Why leave Him and go far to seek Him?
|
ਜਾ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਜਗੁ ਢੂਢਿਅਉ ਨੇਰਉ ਪਾਇਅਉ ਤਾਹਿ ॥੧੬॥
जा कारणि जगु ढूढिअउ नेरउ पाइअउ ताहि ॥१६॥
Jā kāraṇ jag dẖūdẖi▫a▫o nera▫o pā▫i▫a▫o ṯāhi. ||16||
Him, for whom I have searched the whole world, I have found near me.
|
ਟਟਾ ਬਿਕਟ ਘਾਟ ਘਟ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
टटा बिकट घाट घट माही ॥
Tatā bikat gẖāt gẖat māhī.
T-The difficult way to God is within man's mind.
|
ਖੋਲਿ ਕਪਾਟ ਮਹਲਿ ਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
खोलि कपाट महलि कि न जाही ॥
Kẖol kapāt mahal kė na jāhī.
Opening the shutters, why dost thou not repair to His presence?
|
ਦੇਖਿ ਅਟਲ ਟਲਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਵਾ ॥
देखि अटल टलि कतहि न जावा ॥
Ḏekẖ atal tal kaṯėh na jāvā.
Beholding the Immovable One, thou shalt not slip and go elsewhere.
|
ਰਹੈ ਲਪਟਿ ਘਟ ਪਰਚਉ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੧੭॥
रहै लपटि घट परचउ पावा ॥१७॥
Rahai lapat gẖat parcẖa▫o pāvā. ||17||
Thou shalt remain clung to God and thy heart shall be glad.
|
ਠਠਾ ਇਹੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਠਗ ਨੀਰਾ ॥
ठठा इहै दूरि ठग नीरा ॥
Ŧẖaṯẖā ihai ḏūr ṯẖag nīrā.
Th--Keep thyself at distance from this mammon's mirage.
|
ਨੀਠਿ ਨੀਠਿ ਮਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਧੀਰਾ ॥
नीठि नीठि मनु कीआ धीरा ॥
Nīṯẖ nīṯẖ man kī▫ā ḏẖīrā.
With great difficulty, I have rendered my mind patient.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਠਗਿ ਠਗਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਵਾ ॥
जिनि ठगि ठगिआ सगल जगु खावा ॥
Jin ṯẖag ṯẖagi▫ā sagal jag kẖāvā.
The cheat, which had cheated and devoured the whole world,
|
ਸੋ ਠਗੁ ਠਗਿਆ ਠਉਰ ਮਨੁ ਆਵਾ ॥੧੮॥
सो ठगु ठगिआ ठउर मनु आवा ॥१८॥
So ṯẖag ṯẖagi▫ā ṯẖa▫ur man āvā. ||18||
I have cheated that cheat,. my mind is now at peace.
|
ਡਡਾ ਡਰ ਉਪਜੇ ਡਰੁ ਜਾਈ ॥
डडा डर उपजे डरु जाई ॥
Dadā dar upje dar jā▫ī.
D - When Lord's fear is produced others fears depart.
|
ਤਾ ਡਰ ਮਹਿ ਡਰੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
ता डर महि डरु रहिआ समाई ॥
Ŧā dar mėh dar rahi▫ā samā▫ī.
In that fear, Other fears remain absorbed.
|
ਜਉ ਡਰ ਡਰੈ ਤ ਫਿਰਿ ਡਰੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
जउ डर डरै त फिरि डरु लागै ॥
Ja▫o dar darai ṯā fir dar lāgai.
When man rejects Lord's fear, then others fears cling to him.
|
ਨਿਡਰ ਹੂਆ ਡਰੁ ਉਰ ਹੋਇ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੧੯॥
निडर हूआ डरु उर होइ भागै ॥१९॥
Nidar hū▫ā dar ur ho▫e bẖāgai. ||19||
If he becomes fear-free, the fear of him mind flees away.
|
ਢਢਾ ਢਿਗ ਢੂਢਹਿ ਕਤ ਆਨਾ ॥
ढढा ढिग ढूढहि कत आना ॥
Dẖadẖā dẖig dẖūdẖėh kaṯ ānā.
Dh--Why searchest thou Him elsewhere in other directions?
|
ਢੂਢਤ ਹੀ ਢਹਿ ਗਏ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥
ढूढत ही ढहि गए पराना ॥
Dẖūdẖaṯ hī dẖėh ga▫e parānā.
While searching for Him elsewhere the life ends.
|
ਚੜਿ ਸੁਮੇਰਿ ਢੂਢਿ ਜਬ ਆਵਾ ॥
चड़ि सुमेरि ढूढि जब आवा ॥
Cẖaṛ sumer dẖūdẖ jab āvā.
When I returned, after ascending the mountain, in search for Him,
|
ਜਿਹ ਗੜੁ ਗੜਿਓ ਸੁ ਗੜ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨੦॥
जिह गड़ु गड़िओ सु गड़ महि पावा ॥२०॥
Jih gaṛ gaṛi▫o so gaṛ mėh pāvā. ||20||
I found Him in the body castle, the castle which He Himself had make.
|
ਣਾਣਾ ਰਣਿ ਰੂਤਉ ਨਰ ਨੇਹੀ ਕਰੈ ॥
णाणा रणि रूतउ नर नेही करै ॥
Ņāṇā raṇ rūṯa▫o nar nehī karai.
N--The Man engaged in strife, should practise perseverance.
|
ਨਾ ਨਿਵੈ ਨਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੰਚਰੈ ॥
ना निवै ना फुनि संचरै ॥
Nā nivai nā fun sancẖrai.
He should neither quail, and again nor should he retreat.
|
ਧੰਨਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਗਣੈ ॥
धंनि जनमु ताही को गणै ॥
Ḏẖan janam ṯāhī ko gaṇai.
Blessed is accounted the advent of him,
|
ਮਾਰੈ ਏਕਹਿ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਇ ਘਣੈ ॥੨੧॥
मारै एकहि तजि जाइ घणै ॥२१॥
Mārai ekėh ṯaj jā▫e gẖaṇai. ||21||
who conquers his one mind and eschews the many desires.
|
ਤਤਾ ਅਤਰ ਤਰਿਓ ਨਹ ਜਾਈ ॥
तता अतर तरिओ नह जाई ॥
Ŧaṯā aṯar ṯari▫o nah jā▫ī.
T - The unswimable world-ocean cannot be forded.
|
ਤਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
तन त्रिभवण महि रहिओ समाई ॥
Ŧan ṯaribẖavaṇ mėh rahi▫o samā▫ī.
The human body is engrossed in the three worlds.
|
ਜਉ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ॥
जउ त्रिभवण तन माहि समावा ॥
Ja▫o ṯaribẖavaṇ ṯan māhi samāvā.
When the Lord of the three worlds enters into my body,
|
ਤਉ ਤਤਹਿ ਤਤ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨੨॥
तउ ततहि तत मिलिआ सचु पावा ॥२२॥
Ŧa▫o ṯaṯėh ṯaṯ mili▫ā sacẖ pāvā. ||22||
then my real-self blends with the Reality and obtains the True Lord.
|
ਥਥਾ ਅਥਾਹ ਥਾਹ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
थथा अथाह थाह नही पावा ॥
Thathā athāh thāh nahī pāvā.
Th--The Lord is Unfathomable. His depth cannot be explored.
|
ਓਹੁ ਅਥਾਹ ਇਹੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਵਾ ॥
ओहु अथाह इहु थिरु न रहावा ॥
Oh athāh ih thir na rahāvā.
He is limitless, This body remains not stable.
|
ਥੋੜੈ ਥਲਿ ਥਾਨਕ ਆਰੰਭੈ ॥
थोड़ै थलि थानक आर्मभै ॥
Thoṛai thal thānak ārambẖai.
Over a small space man begins to erect a hamlet.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਹੀ ਥਾਭਹ ਮੰਦਿਰੁ ਥੰਭੈ ॥੨੩॥
बिनु ही थाभह मंदिरु थ्मभै ॥२३॥
Bin hī thābẖah manḏir thambẖai. ||23||
Without pillars, he wishes to support a mansion
|
ਦਦਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੁ ਬਿਨਸਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
ददा देखि जु बिनसनहारा ॥
Ḏaḏā ḏekẖ jo binsanhārā.
Th--Whatever we see is perishable.
|
ਜਸ ਅਦੇਖਿ ਤਸ ਰਾਖਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
जस अदेखि तस राखि बिचारा ॥
Jas aḏekẖ ṯas rākẖ bicẖārā.
Think of Him who is unseen.
|
ਦਸਵੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਕੁੰਚੀ ਜਬ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
दसवै दुआरि कुंची जब दीजै ॥
Ḏasvai ḏu▫ār kuncẖī jab ḏījai.
When the key of Divine Knowledge is applied to the tenth gate,
|
ਤਉ ਦਇਆਲ ਕੋ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨੪॥
तउ दइआल को दरसनु कीजै ॥२४॥
Ŧa▫o ḏa▫i▫āl ko ḏarsan kījai. ||24||
then is the sight of the Merciful Master beheld.
|
ਧਧਾ ਅਰਧਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥
धधा अरधहि उरध निबेरा ॥
Ḏẖaḏẖā arḏẖahi uraḏẖ niberā.
Dh - Everything is settled, if one from lower region soars to the higher One.
|
ਅਰਧਹਿ ਉਰਧਹ ਮੰਝਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
अरधहि उरधह मंझि बसेरा ॥
Arḏẖahi urḏẖah manjẖ baserā.
Lord's abode is in earth and heaven.
|
ਅਰਧਹ ਛਾਡਿ ਉਰਧ ਜਉ ਆਵਾ ॥
अरधह छाडि उरध जउ आवा ॥
Arḏẖah cẖẖād uraḏẖ ja▫o āvā.
When leaving the earth, the soul goes to heaven then,
|
ਤਉ ਅਰਧਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨੫॥
तउ अरधहि उरध मिलिआ सुख पावा ॥२५॥
Ŧa▫o arḏẖahi uraḏẖ mili▫ā sukẖ pāvā. ||25||
the soul and God meet and peace is obtained.
|
ਨੰਨਾ ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਜਾਈ ॥
नंना निसि दिनु निरखत जाई ॥
Nannā nis ḏin nirkẖaṯ jā▫ī.
N - My nights and days pass looking for God.
|
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਨੈਨ ਰਹੇ ਰਤਵਾਈ ॥
निरखत नैन रहे रतवाई ॥
Nirkẖaṯ nain rahe raṯvā▫ī.
By such waiting my eyes have grown blood-shout.
|
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਜਬ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
निरखत निरखत जब जाइ पावा ॥
Nirkẖaṯ nirkẖaṯ jab jā▫e pāvā.
When, after long waiting, man finds God in his heart's abode,
|
ਤਬ ਲੇ ਨਿਰਖਹਿ ਨਿਰਖ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ॥੨੬॥
तब ले निरखहि निरख मिलावा ॥२६॥
Ŧab le nirkẖahi nirakẖ milāvā. ||26||
then, He who beholds blends with Him who is looked for.
|
ਪਪਾ ਅਪਰ ਪਾਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
पपा अपर पारु नही पावा ॥
Papā apar pār nahī pāvā.
P - The Master is boundless and His bounds cannot be known.
|
ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਚਉ ਲਾਵਾ ॥
परम जोति सिउ परचउ लावा ॥
Param joṯ si▫o parcẖa▫o lāvā.
I have contracted intimacy with the Supreme light.
|
ਪਾਂਚਉ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਰਹ ਕਰਈ ॥
पांचउ इंद्री निग्रह करई ॥
Pāʼncẖa▫o inḏrī nigrėh kar▫ī.
He who controls his five senses,
|
ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੋਊ ਨਿਰਵਰਈ ॥੨੭॥
पापु पुंनु दोऊ निरवरई ॥२७॥
Pāp punn ḏo▫ū nirvar▫ī. ||27||
is relieved of the idea of both evil and goodness.
|
ਫਫਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਫੂਲਹ ਫਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
फफा बिनु फूलह फलु होई ॥
Fafā bin fūlah fal ho▫ī.
Ph - Without the flower, the fruit is produced.
|
ਤਾ ਫਲ ਫੰਕ ਲਖੈ ਜਉ ਕੋਈ ॥
ता फल फंक लखै जउ कोई ॥
Ŧā fal fank lakẖai ja▫o ko▫ī.
If anyone looks at the slice of that fruit,
|
ਦੂਣਿ ਨ ਪਰਈ ਫੰਕ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥
दूणि न परई फंक बिचारै ॥
Ḏūṇ na par▫ī fank bicẖārai.
and reflects on the slice, he suffers not transmigration.
|
ਤਾ ਫਲ ਫੰਕ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਫਾਰੈ ॥੨੮॥
ता फल फंक सभै तन फारै ॥२८॥
Ŧā fal fank sabẖai ṯan fārai. ||28||
That section of the fruit tears up all the bodies.
|
ਬਬਾ ਬਿੰਦਹਿ ਬਿੰਦ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ॥
बबा बिंदहि बिंद मिलावा ॥
Babā binḏėh binḏ milāvā.
B - When the drop blends with drop,
|
ਬਿੰਦਹਿ ਬਿੰਦਿ ਨ ਬਿਛੁਰਨ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
बिंदहि बिंदि न बिछुरन पावा ॥
Binḏėh binḏ na bicẖẖuran pāvā.
then these drops separate not again.
|
ਬੰਦਉ ਹੋਇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਗਹੈ ॥
बंदउ होइ बंदगी गहै ॥
Banḏa▫o ho▫e banḏagī gahai.
Becoming Lord's slave, man ought to hold fast His meditation.
|
ਬੰਦਕ ਹੋਇ ਬੰਧ ਸੁਧਿ ਲਹੈ ॥੨੯॥
बंदक होइ बंध सुधि लहै ॥२९॥
Banḏak ho▫e banḏẖ suḏẖ lahai. ||29||
If one becomes the thinker of the Lord, He takes care of him like a relation.
