जो मारे तिनि पारब्रहमि से किसै न संदे ॥
Jo māre ṯin pārbarahm se kisai na sanḏe.
Those who are struck down by the Supreme Lord God do not belong to anyone.
वैरु करनि निरवैर नालि धरमि निआइ पचंदे ॥
vair karan nirvair nāl ḏẖaram ni▫ā▫e pacẖanḏe.
Those who hate the One who has no hatred, are destroyed by righteous justice.
जो जो संति सरापिआ से फिरहि भवंदे ॥
Jo jo sanṯ sarāpi▫ā se firėh bẖavanḏe.
Those who are cursed by the Saints wander around lost.
पेडु मुंढाहू कटिआ तिसु डाल सुकंदे ॥३१॥
Ped mundẖāhū kati▫ā ṯis dāl sukanḏe. ||31||
When the tree is cut off at its roots, the branches wither and die. ||31||

Salok mėhlā 5.
Shalok, Fifth Mehl:
गुर नानक हरि नामु द्रिड़ाइआ भंनण घड़ण समरथु ॥
Gur Nānak har nām driṛ▫ā▫i▫ā bẖannaṇ gẖaṛaṇ samrath.
Guru Nanak implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me; He is All-powerful, to create and destroy.
प्रभु सदा समालहि मित्र तू दुखु सबाइआ लथु ॥१॥
Parabẖ saḏā samālėh miṯar ṯū ḏukẖ sabā▫i▫ā lath. ||1||
Remember God forever, my friend, and all your suffering will disappear. ||1||
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:
खुधिआवंतु न जाणई लाज कुलाज कुबोलु ॥
Kẖuḏẖi▫āvanṯ na jāṇ▫ī lāj kulāj kubol.
The hungry person does not care about honor, dishonor or harsh words.
नानकु मांगै नामु हरि करि किरपा संजोगु ॥२॥
Nānak māʼngai nām har kar kirpā sanjog. ||2||
Nanak begs for the Name of the Lord; please grant Your Grace, and unite me with Yourself. ||2||
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:
जेवेहे करम कमावदा तेवेहे फलते ॥
Javehe karam kamāvḏā ṯavehe falṯe.
According to the deeds which one does, so are the fruits one obtains.
चबे तता लोह सारु विचि संघै पलते ॥
Cẖabe ṯaṯā loh sār vicẖ sangẖai palṯe.
If someone chews on red-hot iron, his throat will be burned.
घति गलावां चालिआ तिनि दूति अमल ते ॥
Gẖaṯ galāvāʼn cẖāli▫ā ṯin ḏūṯ amal ṯe.
The halter is put around his neck and he is led away, because of the evil deeds he has done.
काई आस न पुंनीआ नित पर मलु हिरते ॥
Kā▫ī ās na punnī▫ā niṯ par mal hirṯe.
None of his desires are fulfilled; he continually steals the filth of others.
कीआ न जाणै अकिरतघण विचि जोनी फिरते ॥
Kī▫ā na jāṇai ākiraṯ▫gẖaṇ vicẖ jonī firṯe.
The ungrateful wretch does not appreciate what he has been given; he wanders lost in reincarnation.
सभे धिरां निखुटीअसु हिरि लईअसु धर ते ॥
Sabẖe ḏẖirāʼn nikẖutī▫as hir la▫ī▫as ḏẖar ṯe.
He loses all support, when the Support of the Lord is taken away from him.
विझण कलह न देवदा तां लइआ करते ॥
vijẖaṇ kalah na ḏevḏā ṯāʼn la▫i▫ā karṯe.
He does not let the embers of strife die down, and so the Creator destroys him.
जो जो करते अहमेउ झड़ि धरती पड़ते ॥३२॥
Jo jo karṯe ahame▫o jẖaṛ ḏẖarṯī paṛ▫ṯe. ||32||
Those who indulge in egotism crumble and fall to the ground. ||32||
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:
गुरमुखि गिआनु बिबेक बुधि होइ ॥
Gurmukẖ gi▫ān bibek buḏẖ ho▫e.
The Gurmukh is blessed with spiritual wisdom and a discerning intellect.
हरि गुण गावै हिरदै हारु परोइ ॥
Har guṇ gāvai hirḏai hār paro▫e.
He sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and weaves this garland into his heart.
पवितु पावनु परम बीचारी ॥
Paviṯ pāvan param bīcẖārī.
He becomes the purest of the pure, a being of supreme understanding.
जि ओसु मिलै तिसु पारि उतारी ॥
Jė os milai ṯis pār uṯārī.
Whoever he meets, he saves and carries across.
अंतरि हरि नामु बासना समाणी ॥
Anṯar har nām bāsnā samāṇī.
The fragrance of the Lord's Name permeates his being deep within.
हरि दरि सोभा महा उतम बाणी ॥
Har ḏar sobẖā mahā uṯam baṇī.
He is honored in the Court of the Lord, and his speech is the most sublime.
जि पुरखु सुणै सु होइ निहालु ॥
Jė purakẖ suṇai so ho▫e nihāl.
Those who hear him are delighted.
नानक सतिगुर मिलिऐ पाइआ नामु धनु मालु ॥१॥
Nānak saṯgur mili▫ai pā▫i▫ā nām ḏẖan māl. ||1||
O Nanak, meeting the True Guru, one obtains the wealth and property of the Naam. ||1||
मः ४ ॥
Mėhlā 4.
Fourth Mehl:
सतिगुर के जीअ की सार न जापै कि पूरै सतिगुर भावै ॥
Saṯgur ke jī▫a kī sār na jāpai kė pūrai saṯgur bẖāvai.
The sublime state of the True Guru is not known; no one knows what pleases the Perfect True Guru.
गुरसिखां अंदरि सतिगुरू वरतै जो सिखां नो लोचै सो गुर खुसी आवै ॥
Gursikẖāʼn anḏar saṯgurū varṯai jo sikẖāʼn no locẖai so gur kẖusī āvai.
Deep within the hearts of His GurSikhs, the True Guru is pervading. The Guru is pleased with those who long for His Sikhs.
सतिगुरु आखै सु कार कमावनि सु जपु कमावहि गुरसिखां की घाल सचा थाइ पावै ॥
Saṯgur ākẖai so kār kamāvan so jap kamāvėh gursikẖāʼn kī gẖāl sacẖā thā▫e pāvai.
As the True Guru directs them, they do their work and chant their prayers. The True Lord accepts the service of His GurSikhs.
विणु सतिगुर के हुकमै जि गुरसिखां पासहु कमु कराइआ लोड़े तिसु गुरसिखु फिरि नेड़ि न आवै ॥
viṇ saṯgur ke hukmai jė gursikẖāʼn pāshu kamm karā▫i▫ā loṛe ṯis gursikẖ fir neṛ na āvai.
But those who want the GurSikhs to work for them, without the Order of the True Guru - the Guru's Sikhs shall not come near them again.
गुर सतिगुर अगै को जीउ लाइ घालै तिसु अगै गुरसिखु कार कमावै ॥
Gur saṯgur agai ko jī▫o lā▫e gẖālai ṯis agai gursikẖ kār kamāvai.
One who works diligently for the Guru, the True Guru - the GurSikhs work for him.
जि ठगी आवै ठगी उठि जाइ तिसु नेड़ै गुरसिखु मूलि न आवै ॥
Jė ṯẖagī āvai ṯẖagī uṯẖ jā▫e ṯis neṛai gursikẖ mūl na āvai.
One who comes to deceive, who rises up and goes out to deceive - the GurSikhs shall never come near him.
ब्रहमु बीचारु नानकु आखि सुणावै ॥
Barahm bīcẖār Nānak ākẖ suṇāvai.
Nanak proclaims and announces this wisdom of God.
जि विणु सतिगुर के मनु मंने कमु कराए सो जंतु महा दुखु पावै ॥२॥
Jė viṇ saṯgur ke man manne kamm karā▫e so janṯ mahā ḏukẖ pāvai. ||2||
One who is not pleasing to the Mind of the True Guru may do his deeds, but that being will only suffer in terrible pain. ||2||
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:
तूं सचा साहिबु अति वडा तुहि जेवडु तूं वड वडे ॥
Ŧūʼn sacẖā sāhib aṯ vadā ṯuhi jevad ṯūʼn vad vade.
O True Lord and Master, You are so very great. As great as You are, You are the greatest of the great.
जिसु तूं मेलहि सो तुधु मिलै तूं आपे बखसि लैहि लेखा छडे ॥
Jis ṯūʼn melėh so ṯuḏẖ milai ṯūʼn āpe bakẖas laihi lekẖā cẖẖade.
He alone is united with You, whom You unite with Yourself. You Yourself bless and forgive us, and tear up our accounts.
जिस नो तूं आपि मिलाइदा सो सतिगुरु सेवे मनु गड गडे ॥
Jis no ṯūʼn āp milā▫iḏā so saṯgur seve man gad gade.
One whom You unite with Yourself, whole-heartedly serves the True Guru.
तूं सचा साहिबु सचु तू सभु जीउ पिंडु चमु तेरा हडे ॥
Ŧūʼn sacẖā sāhib sacẖ ṯū sabẖ jī▫o pind cẖamm ṯerā hade.
You are the True One, the True Lord and Master; my soul, body, flesh and bones are all Yours.
जिउ भावै तिउ रखु तूं सचिआ नानक मनि आस तेरी वड वडे ॥३३॥१॥ सुधु ॥
Ji▫o bẖāvai ṯi▫o rakẖ ṯūʼn sacẖi▫ā Nānak man ās ṯerī vad vade. ||33||1|| suḏẖ.
If it pleases You, then save me, True Lord. Nanak places the hopes of his mind in You alone, O greatest of the great! ||33||1|| Sudh||
