ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਲਾਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
मनु तनु सीतलु सांति सहज लागा प्रभ की सेव ॥
Man ṯan sīṯal sāʼnṯ sahj lāgā parabẖ kī sev.
My mind and body are cooled, are in peace and equipoise, and I have applied myself to Lord's service.

ਟੂਟੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਸਫਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਮ ॥
टूटे बंधन बहु बिकार सफल पूरन ता के काम ॥
Tūte banḏẖan baho bikār safal pūran ṯā ke kām.
His bounds are broken, his manifolds sins are erased, his affairs are arranged and accomplished,

ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਿਟੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੁਟੀ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥
दुरमति मिटी हउमै छुटी सिमरत हरि को नाम ॥
Ḏurmaṯ mitī ha▫umai cẖẖutī simraṯ har ko nām.
his mal-intellect disappears and his ego is stilled, who remembers God's Name.

ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਆਵਾ ਗਵਨ ॥
सरनि गही पारब्रहम की मिटिआ आवा गवन ॥
Saran gahī pārbarahm kī miti▫ā āvā gavan.
By grasping the protection of the Supreme Lord's coming and going has ended

ਆਪਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਿਉ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਬਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਵਨ ॥
आपि तरिआ कुट्मब सिउ गुण गुबिंद प्रभ रवन ॥
Āp ṯari▫ā kutamb si▫o guṇ gubinḏ parabẖ ravan.
By uttering the praise of the Lord Master, he saves himself along with his family.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
हरि की टहल कमावणी जपीऐ प्रभ का नामु ॥
Har kī tahal kamāvṇī japī▫ai parabẖ kā nām.
I perform the service of God alone and utter the Name of the Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥੧੫॥
गुर पूरे ते पाइआ नानक सुख बिस्रामु ॥१५॥
Gur pūre ṯe pā▫i▫ā Nānak sukẖ bisrām. ||15||
From the perfect Guru, Nanak has obtained peace and pleasure.

ਪੂਰਨੁ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਿ ॥
पूरनु कबहु न डोलता पूरा कीआ प्रभ आपि ॥
Pūran kabahu na dolṯā pūrā kī▫ā parabẖ āp.
The perfect man, whom the Lord Himself has made perfect, never wavers.

ਦਿਨੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਤ ਨ ਘਾਟਿ ॥੧੬॥
दिनु दिनु चड़ै सवाइआ नानक होत न घाटि ॥१६॥
Ḏin ḏin cẖaṛai savā▫i▫ā Nānak hoṯ na gẖāt. ||16||
Day by day he prospers and fails not, O Nanak.

ਪੂਰਨਮਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕੁ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
पूरनमा पूरन प्रभ एकु करण कारण समरथु ॥
Pūrnamā pūran parabẖ ek karaṇ kāraṇ samrath.
The day of full moon: The omnipotent Lord, alone is perfect and the cause of causes.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹਥੁ ॥
जीअ जंत दइआल पुरखु सभ ऊपरि जा का हथु ॥
Jī▫a janṯ ḏa▫i▫āl purakẖ sabẖ ūpar jā kā hath.
The Lord, whose protecting hand is over all, is merciful to the mortals and other beings.

ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਰ ਕੀਆ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुण निधान गोबिंद गुर कीआ जा का होइ ॥
Guṇ niḏẖān gobinḏ gur kī▫ā jā kā ho▫e.
The great Lord, at whose instant everything is done, is the treasure of excellences.

ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸੋਇ ॥
अंतरजामी प्रभु सुजानु अलख निरंजन सोइ ॥
Anṯarjāmī parabẖ sujān alakẖ niranjan so▫e.
He, the wise, unseen and pure Lord, is the knower of hearts.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੋ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ॥
पारब्रहमु परमेसरो सभ बिधि जानणहार ॥
Pārbarahm parmesaro sabẖ biḏẖ jānaṇhār.
Transcendent Lord, the Lofty master is the knower of all the devices.

ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥
संत सहाई सरनि जोगु आठ पहर नमसकार ॥
Sanṯ sahā▫ī saran jog āṯẖ pahar namaskār.
He is the helper of the saints and potent to give shelter. I ever make obeisance to Him.

ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਨਹ ਬੂਝੀਐ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ॥
अकथ कथा नह बूझीऐ सिमरहु हरि के चरन ॥
Akath kathā nah būjẖī▫ai simrahu har ke cẖaran.
I meditate on the feet of God, whose ineffable discourse cannot be known.

ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਅਨਾਥ ਨਾਥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨ ॥੧੬॥
पतित उधारन अनाथ नाथ नानक प्रभ की सरन ॥१६॥
Paṯiṯ uḏẖāran anāth nāth Nānak parabẖ kī saran. ||16||
Nanak has entered the sanctuary of the Lord, who is the savior of the sinners and the Master of masterless.

ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਗਇਓ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
दुख बिनसे सहसा गइओ सरनि गही हरि राइ ॥
Ḏukẖ binse sahsā ga▫i▫o saran gahī har rā▫e.
My pain has fled and my doubt has departed, since I have grasped the shelter of God the king.

ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧੭॥
मनि चिंदे फल पाइआ नानक हरि गुन गाइ ॥१७॥
Man cẖinḏe fal pā▫i▫ā Nānak har gun gā▫e. ||17||
By singing the praises of God, Nanak has obtained his heart desired fruits.

ਕੋਈ ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਸੁਣੈ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
कोई गावै को सुणै कोई करै बीचारु ॥
Ko▫ī gāvai ko suṇai ko▫ī karai bīcẖār.
Let someone sing, some one hear, some one reflect on,
|
ਕੋ ਉਪਦੇਸੈ ਕੋ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
को उपदेसै को द्रिड़ै तिस का होइ उधारु ॥
Ko upḏesai ko ḏariṛai ṯis kā ho▫e uḏẖār.
some one preach the Name of God and some one preach the Name of God and some one fix it in his mind, he shall forthwith be saved.

ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਮਲੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
किलबिख काटै होइ निरमला जनम जनम मलु जाइ ॥
Kilbikẖ kātai ho▫e nirmalā janam janam mal jā▫e.
His sins shall be effaced, he shall become pure and his filth of many births shall be washed off.

ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲਾ ਨਹ ਪੋਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇ ॥
हलति पलति मुखु ऊजला नह पोहै तिसु माइ ॥
Halaṯ palaṯ mukẖ ūjlā nah pohai ṯis mā▫e.
In this world and the next world, his countenance shall be bright, and mammon shall not affect him.
|
ਸੋ ਸੁਰਤਾ ਸੋ ਬੈਸਨੋ ਸੋ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਧਨਵੰਤੁ ॥
सो सुरता सो बैसनो सो गिआनी धनवंतु ॥
So surṯā so baisno so gi▫ānī ḏẖanvanṯ.
He is the man of wisdom, he the vegetarian, he the divine and the man of wealth;

ਸੋ ਸੂਰਾ ਕੁਲਵੰਤੁ ਸੋਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਭਜਿਆ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
सो सूरा कुलवंतु सोइ जिनि भजिआ भगवंतु ॥
So sūrā kulvanṯ so▫e jin bẖaji▫ā bẖagvanṯ.
He is the hero, and he is of high family, who has meditated on the Fortunate Lord.

ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਸੂਦੁ ਬੈਸੁ ਉਧਰੈ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚੰਡਾਲ ॥
खत्री ब्राहमणु सूदु बैसु उधरै सिमरि चंडाल ॥
Kẖaṯrī barāhmaṇ sūḏ bais uḏẖrai simar cẖandāl.
The warriors, priests, menials, the farmers and pariahs are saved by remembering the Lord.

ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਰਵਾਲ ॥੧੭॥
जिनि जानिओ प्रभु आपना नानक तिसहि रवाल ॥१७॥
Jin jāni▫o parabẖ āpnā Nānak ṯisėh ravāl. ||17||
Nanak is the dust of his feet, who knows his Lord.
|
ਗਉੜੀ ਕੀ ਵਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Eulogy of Gauri, 4th Guru.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but one God. By the True Guru's grace He is obtained.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਮਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
सतिगुरु पुरखु दइआलु है जिस नो समतु सभु कोइ ॥
Saṯgur purakẖ ḏa▫i▫āl hai jis no samaṯ sabẖ ko▫e.
Compassionate is the Great True Guru, for whom all are alike.
|
ਏਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਮਨ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਤੇ ਸਿਧਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
एक द्रिसटि करि देखदा मन भावनी ते सिधि होइ ॥
Ėk ḏarisat kar ḏekẖ▫ḏā man bẖāvnī ṯe siḏẖ ho▫e.
He beholds all with the same eye, but with mind faith he is obtained.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
सतिगुर विचि अम्रितु है हरि उतमु हरि पदु सोइ ॥
Saṯgur vicẖ amriṯ hai har uṯam har paḏ so▫e.
In the True Guru abides the Name nectar. He is sublime like God and hold Divine rank.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
नानक किरपा ते हरि धिआईऐ गुरमुखि पावै कोइ ॥१॥
Nānak kirpā ṯe har ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai gurmukẖ pāvai ko▫e. ||1||
Nanak by Guru's grace, God is remembered. A few Guru-ward's obtain the Lord.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਭ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਤ ਜਗਿ ਤੋਟਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
हउमै माइआ सभ बिखु है नित जगि तोटा संसारि ॥
Ha▫umai mā▫i▫ā sabẖ bikẖ hai niṯ jag ṯotā sansār.
Self-conceit and wealth are all poison. Attached therewith, man ever suffers loss in this world.
|
ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
लाहा हरि धनु खटिआ गुरमुखि सबदु वीचारि ॥
Lāhā har ḏẖan kẖati▫ā gurmukẖ sabaḏ vīcẖār.
By pondering on the Name, the Guru-ward earns the profit of God wealth.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
हउमै मैलु बिखु उतरै हरि अम्रितु हरि उर धारि ॥
Ha▫umai mail bikẖ uṯrai har amriṯ har ur ḏẖār.
By placing God and God and God's elixir in the mind, the poison of the filth of ego is removed.
