सुणिऐ दूख पाप का नासु ॥९॥
Suṇi▫ai ḏūkẖ pāp kā nās. ||9||
By hearing the Lord's Name disease and wickedness are wiped off.

सुणिऐ सतु संतोखु गिआनु ॥
Suṇi▫ai saṯ sanṯokẖ gi▫ān.
By hearkening to the Lord's Name truthfulness, contentment and Divine Knowledge are obtained.

सुणिऐ अठसठि का इसनानु ॥
Suṇi▫ai aṯẖsaṯẖ kā isnān.
By hearing the Lord's Name the fruit of the ablution at sixty-eight holies is attained.

सुणिऐ पड़ि पड़ि पावहि मानु ॥
Suṇi▫ai paṛ paṛ pāvahi mān.
By hearing and constantly reading God's Name man gains honour.

सुणिऐ लागै सहजि धिआनु ॥
Suṇi▫ai lāgai sahj ḏẖi▫ān.
By hearing the Name, man easily procures the Lord's meditation.

नानक भगता सदा विगासु ॥
Nānak bẖagṯā saḏā vigās.
Ever blissful are the saints, O Nanak!

सुणिऐ दूख पाप का नासु ॥१०॥
Suṇi▫ai ḏūkẖ pāp kā nās. ||10||
By hearing the Lord's Name disease and wickedness are wiped off.

सुणिऐ सरा गुणा के गाह ॥
Suṇi▫ai sarā guṇā ke gāh.
By hearing the Lord's Name man dives deep into the oceans of virtues.

सुणिऐ सेख पीर पातिसाह ॥
Suṇi▫ai sekẖ pīr pāṯisāh.
The hearkening of the Lord's Name renders the mortal a scholar, spiritual guide and a monarch.

सुणिऐ अंधे पावहि राहु ॥
Suṇi▫ai anḏẖe pāvahi rāhu.
By hearing the Master's Name the blind find their way.

सुणिऐ हाथ होवै असगाहु ॥
Suṇi▫ai hāth hovai asgāhu.
By hearing the Master's Name the unfathomable Lord becomes fathomable.

नानक भगता सदा विगासु ॥
Nānak bẖagṯā saḏā vigās.
Ever blissful are the saints, O Nanak!

सुणिऐ दूख पाप का नासु ॥११॥
Suṇi▫ai ḏūkẖ pāp kā nās. ||11||
By hearing the Lord's Name disease and wickedness are wiped off.

मंने की गति कही न जाइ ॥
Manne kī gaṯ kahī na jā▫e.
The condition of the mortal who obeys the Lord cannot by described.

जे को कहै पिछै पछुताइ ॥
Je ko kahai picẖẖai pacẖẖuṯā▫e.
If someone tries to describe he repents afterwards.

कागदि कलम न लिखणहारु ॥
Kāgaḏ kalam na likẖaṇhār.
There is no paper, pen, and scribe,

मंने का बहि करनि वीचारु ॥
Manne kā bahi karan vīcẖār.
with whom to sit and write over (reflect) the state of God's obeyer.

ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥
Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e.
Such is the Name of the immaculate Lord.

जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१२॥
Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||12||
if some one obeys God, such a solitary being understands the bliss there of in his very mind.

मंनै सुरति होवै मनि बुधि ॥
Mannai suraṯ hovai man buḏẖ.
By truly believing in the Lord's Name Divine comprehension enters man's mind and understanding.

मंनै सगल भवण की सुधि ॥
Mannai sagal bẖavaṇ kī suḏẖ.
By truly believing in God's Name the Knowledge of all the spheres is acquired.

मंनै मुहि चोटा ना खाइ ॥
Mannai muhi cẖotā nā kẖā▫e.
The worshipper of God suffers not blows on his face.

मंनै जम कै साथि न जाइ ॥
Mannai jam kai sāth na jā▫e.
Through inner belief in the Lord's Name man goes not with death's minister.

ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥
Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e.
Such is the stainless Name of God.

जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१३॥
Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||13||
If someone puts faith in the Lord's Name, he shall, then understand it within his mind.

मंनै मारगि ठाक न पाइ ॥
Mannai mārag ṯẖāk na pā▫e.
The believer in God's Name meets not obstruction in the way.

मंनै पति सिउ परगटु जाइ ॥
Mannai paṯ si▫o pargat jā▫e.
The Name's believer departs with honour and renown.

मंनै मगु न चलै पंथु ॥
Mannai mag na cẖalai panth.
The Name's believer walks not on the ritualistic religious paths.

मंनै धरम सेती सनबंधु ॥
Mannai ḏẖaram seṯī san▫banḏẖ.
The believer in God's Name has an alliance with righteousness.

ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥
Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e.
Such is the stainless Name of God.

जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१४॥
Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||14||
If someone puts faith in the Lord's Name, he shall, then understand it within his mind.

मंनै पावहि मोखु दुआरु ॥
Mannai pāvahi mokẖ ḏu▫ār.
The obeyer of the Lord's dictates obtains the door of salvation.

मंनै परवारै साधारु ॥
Mannai parvārai sāḏẖār.
The obeyer of the Lord's dictates reforms his kith and kin.

मंनै तरै तारे गुरु सिख ॥
Mannai ṯarai ṯāre gur sikẖ.
The obeyer of the Lord's fiat saves himself and saves the Sikhs of the Guru.

मंनै नानक भवहि न भिख ॥
Mannai Nānak bẖavahi na bẖikẖ.
The obeyer of the Lord's fiat goes not begging.

ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥
Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e.
Such is the stainless Name of God.

जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१५॥
Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||15||
If some one puts faith in the Lord's Name, he shall then, understand it within his mind.

पंच परवाण पंच परधानु ॥
Pancẖ parvāṇ pancẖ parḏẖān.
The elect are acceptable and the elect supreme.

पंचे पावहि दरगहि मानु ॥
Pancẖe pāvahi ḏargahi mān.
The saints obtain honour in the Lord's Court.

पंचे सोहहि दरि राजानु ॥
Pancẖe sohahi ḏar rājān.
God's slaves look beauteous in the Court of kings.

पंचा का गुरु एकु धिआनु ॥
Pancẖā kā gur ek ḏẖi▫ān.
The chosen center their attention on the Guru alone.

जे को कहै करै वीचारु ॥
Je ko kahai karai vīcẖār.
No matter how much someone may narrate and reflect,

करते कै करणै नाही सुमारु ॥
Karṯe kai karṇai nāhī sumār.
But there can be no enumeration of the Creator's doing.

धौलु धरमु दइआ का पूतु ॥
Ḏẖoul ḏẖaram ḏa▫i▫ā kā pūṯ.
The mythical bull is piety, the offspring of compassion, which is patiently holding the earth in order.

संतोखु थापि रखिआ जिनि सूति ॥
Sanṯokẖ thāp rakẖi▫ā jin sūṯ.
the offspring of compassion, which is patiently holding the earth in order.

जे को बुझै होवै सचिआरु ॥
Je ko bujẖai hovai sacẖiār.
If some one understands this, he becomes a true man:

धवलै उपरि केता भारु ॥
Ḏẖavlai upar keṯā bẖār.
How much load there is on the bull?

धरती होरु परै होरु होरु ॥
Ḏẖarṯī hor parai hor hor.
There are more worlds beyond this earth, more and more.

तिस ते भारु तलै कवणु जोरु ॥
Ŧis ṯe bẖār ṯalai kavaṇ jor.
What power is that which supports their weight from underneath?

जीअ जाति रंगा के नाव ॥
Jī▫a jāṯ rangā ke nāv.
The Kinds, colours and names of all the beings,

सभना लिखिआ वुड़ी कलाम ॥
Sabẖnā likẖi▫ā vuṛī kalām.
were all inscribed by the ever-flowing pen of God.

एहु लेखा लिखि जाणै कोइ ॥
Ėhu lekẖā likẖ jāṇai ko▫e.
A few know how to pen this account.

लेखा लिखिआ केता होइ ॥
Lekẖā likẖi▫ā keṯā ho▫e.
How voluminous would be the scribed scroll?

केता ताणु सुआलिहु रूपु ॥
Keṯā ṯāṇ su▫ālihu rūp.
What might and fascinating beauty are Thine, O Lord?

केती दाति जाणै कौणु कूतु ॥
Keṯī ḏāṯ jāṇai kouṇ kūṯ.
How great is Thy gift? Who can assess its extent.

कीता पसाउ एको कवाउ ॥
Kīṯā pasā▫o eko kavā▫o.
With One Word Thou didst effect the world's expansion

तिस ते होए लख दरीआउ ॥
Ŧis ṯe ho▫e lakẖ ḏarī▫ā▫o.
and where by lacs of rivers began to flow.

कुदरति कवण कहा वीचारु ॥
Kuḏraṯ kavaṇ kahā vīcẖār.
What power have I to describe (Thee or Thine doctrines)?

वारिआ न जावा एक वार ॥
vāri▫ā na jāvā ek vār.
I cannot even once be a sacrifice unto Thee.

जो तुधु भावै साई भली कार ॥
Jo ṯuḏẖ bẖāvai sā▫ī bẖalī kār.
Whatever pleases Thee, that is a good pursuit.

तू सदा सलामति निरंकार ॥१६॥
Ŧū saḏā salāmaṯ nirankār. ||16||
Thou art ever safe and sound, O Formless One!

असंख जप असंख भाउ ॥
Asaʼnkẖ jap asaʼnkẖ bẖā▫o.
Countless are Thine meditations and countless those who meditate on Thee with Love.

असंख पूजा असंख तप ताउ ॥
Asaʼnkẖ pūjā asaʼnkẖ ṯap ṯā▫o.
Countless are Thine worships and countless they who practise penance.

असंख गरंथ मुखि वेद पाठ ॥
Asaʼnkẖ garanth mukẖ veḏ pāṯẖ.
Countless are the scriptures and extempore reciters of Vedas.

असंख जोग मनि रहहि उदास ॥
Asaʼnkẖ jog man rahahi uḏās.
Countless are the yogis who remain detached (in mind) from the world.
