ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
Jis parsāḏ sabẖ jagaṯ ṯarā▫i▫ā.
by his grace, the whole world is saved.

ਜਨ ਆਵਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
Jan āvan kā ihai su▫ā▫o.
This is his purpose in life;
|
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
Jan kai sang cẖiṯ āvai nā▫o.
in the Company of this humble servant, the Lord's Name comes to mind.
|
ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
Āp mukaṯ mukaṯ karai sansār.
He Himself is liberated, and He liberates the universe.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੨੩॥
Nānak ṯis jan ka▫o saḏā namaskār. ||8||23||
O Nanak, to that humble servant, I bow in reverence forever. ||8||23||

ਪੂਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
Pūrā parabẖ ārāḏẖi▫ā pūrā jā kā nā▫o.
I worship and adore the Perfect Lord God. Perfect is His Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
Nānak pūrā pā▫i▫ā pūre ke gun gā▫o. ||1||
O Nanak, I have obtained the Perfect One; I sing the Glorious Praises of the Perfect Lord. ||1||

ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ॥
Pūre gur kā sun upḏes.
Listen to the Teachings of the Perfect Guru;

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਪੇਖੁ ॥
Pārbarahm nikat kar pekẖ.
see the Supreme Lord God near you.
|
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
Sās sās simrahu gobinḏ.
With each and every breath, meditate in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe,
|
ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਉਤਰੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥
Man anṯar kī uṯrai cẖinḏ.
and the anxiety within your mind shall depart.
|
ਆਸ ਅਨਿਤ ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਤਰੰਗ ॥
Ās aniṯ ṯi▫āgahu ṯarang.
Abandon the waves of fleeting desire,
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੰਗ ॥
Sanṯ janā kī ḏẖūr man mang.
and pray for the dust of the feet of the Saints.
|
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਹੁ ॥
Āp cẖẖod benṯī karahu.
Renounce your selfishness and conceit and offer your prayers.
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਹੁ ॥
Sāḏẖsang agan sāgar ṯarahu.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, cross over the ocean of fire.
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੇ ਭਰਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
Har ḏẖan ke bẖar leho bẖandār.
Fill your stores with the wealth of the Lord.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੧॥
Nānak gur pūre namaskār. ||1||
Nanak bows in humility and reverence to the Perfect Guru. ||1||
|
ਖੇਮ ਕੁਸਲ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ॥
Kẖem kusal sahj ānanḏ.
Happiness, intuitive peace, poise and bliss -
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਜੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥
Sāḏẖsang bẖaj parmānanḏ.
in the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of supreme bliss.
|
ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਉਧਾਰਹੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
Narak nivār uḏẖārahu jī▫o.
You shall be spared from hell - save your soul!
|
ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ॥
Gun gobinḏ amriṯ ras pī▫o.
Drink in the ambrosial essence of the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
|
ਚਿਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਹੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਏਕ ॥
Cẖiṯ cẖiṯvahu nārā▫iṇ ek.
Focus your consciousness on the One, the All-pervading Lord -
|
ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
Ėk rūp jā ke rang anek.
He has One Form, but He has many manifestations.
|
ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
Gopāl ḏāmoḏar ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl.
Sustainer of the Universe, Lord of the world, Kind to the poor,
|
ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
Ḏukẖ bẖanjan pūran kirpāl.
Destroyer of sorrow, perfectly Merciful.
|
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰ ॥
Simar simar nām bāraʼn bār.
Meditate, meditate in remembrance on the Naam, again and again.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੨॥
Nānak jī▫a kā ihai aḏẖār. ||2||
O Nanak, it is the Support of the soul. ||2||
|
ਉਤਮ ਸਲੋਕ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ॥
Uṯam salok sāḏẖ ke bacẖan.
The most sublime hymns are the Words of the Holy.
|
ਅਮੁਲੀਕ ਲਾਲ ਏਹਿ ਰਤਨ ॥
Amulīk lāl ehi raṯan.
These are priceless rubies and gems.
|
ਸੁਨਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਹੋਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
Sunaṯ kamāvaṯ hoṯ uḏẖār.
One who listens and acts on them is saved.
|
ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਲੋਕਹ ਨਿਸਤਾਰ ॥
Āp ṯarai lokah nisṯār.
He himself swims across, and saves others as well.
|
ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
Safal jīvan safal ṯā kā sang.
His life is prosperous, and his company is fruitful;
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
Jā kai man lāgā har rang.
his mind is imbued with the love of the Lord.
|
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ॥
Jai jai sabaḏ anāhaḏ vājai.
Hail, hail to him, for whom the sound current of the Shabad vibrates.
|
ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਨਦ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗਾਜੈ ॥
Sun sun anaḏ kare parabẖ gājai.
Hearing it again and again, he is in bliss, proclaiming God's Praises.
|
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਮਹਾਂਤ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੇ ॥
Pargate gupāl mahāʼnṯ kai māthe.
The Lord radiates from the foreheads of the Holy.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ॥੩॥
Nānak uḏẖre ṯin kai sāthe. ||3||
Nanak is saved in their company. ||3||
|
ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਏ ॥
Saran jog sun sarnī ā▫e.
Hearing that He can give Sanctuary, I have come seeking His Sanctuary.
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Kar kirpā parabẖ āp milā▫e.
Bestowing His Mercy, God has blended me with Himself.
|
ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਬੈਰ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਰੇਨ ॥
Mit ga▫e bair bẖa▫e sabẖ ren.
Hatred is gone, and I have become the dust of all.
|
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਲੈਨ ॥
Amriṯ nām sāḏẖsang lain.
I have received the Ambrosial Naam in the Company of the Holy.
|
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
Suparsan bẖa▫e gurḏev.
The Divine Guru is perfectly pleased;
|
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
Pūran ho▫ī sevak kī sev.
the service of His servant has been rewarded.
|
ਆਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥
Āl janjāl bikār ṯe rahṯe.
I have been released from worldly entanglements and corruption,
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਤੇ ॥
Rām nām sun rasnā kahṯe.
hearing the Lord's Name and chanting it with my tongue.
|
ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
Kar parsāḏ ḏa▫i▫ā parabẖ ḏẖārī.
By His Grace, God has bestowed His Mercy.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਬਹੀ ਖੇਪ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
Nānak nibhī kẖep hamārī. ||4||
O Nanak, my merchandise has arrived save and sound. ||4||
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ॥
Parabẖ kī usṯaṯ karahu sanṯ mīṯ.
Sing the Praises of God, O Saints, O friends,
|
ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਏਕਾਗਰ ਚੀਤ ॥
Sāvḏẖān ekāgar cẖīṯ.
with total concentration and one-pointedness of mind.
|
ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸਹਜ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਨ ਨਾਮ ॥
Sukẖmanī sahj gobinḏ gun nām.
Sukhmani is the peaceful ease, the Glory of God, the Naam.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
Jis man basai so hoṯ niḏẖān.
When it abides in the mind, one becomes wealthy.
|
ਸਰਬ ਇਛਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
Sarab icẖẖā ṯā kī pūran ho▫e.
All desires are fulfilled.
|
ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਲੋਇ ॥
Parḏẖān purakẖ pargat sabẖ lo▫e.
One becomes the most respected person, famous all over the world.
|
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਪਾਏ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ॥
Sabẖ ṯe ūcẖ pā▫e asthān.
He obtains the highest place of all.
|
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
Bahur na hovai āvan jān.
He does not come and go in reincarnation any longer.
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲੈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
Har ḏẖan kẖāt cẖalai jan so▫e.
One who departs, after earning the wealth of the Lord's Name,
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥
Nānak jisahi parāpaṯ ho▫e. ||5||
O Nanak, realizes it. ||5||
|
ਖੇਮ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ॥
Kẖem sāʼnṯ riḏẖ nav niḏẖ.
Comfort, peace and tranquility, wealth and the nine treasures;
|
ਬੁਧਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਤਹ ਸਿਧਿ ॥
Buḏẖ gi▫ān sarab ṯah siḏẖ.
wisdom, knowledge, and all spiritual powers;
|
ਬਿਦਿਆ ਤਪੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
Biḏi▫ā ṯap jog parabẖ ḏẖi▫ān.
learning, penance, Yoga and meditation on God;
