ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਓਇ ਭੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
नानक संत भावै ता ओइ भी गति पाहि ॥२॥
Nānak sanṯ bẖāvai ṯā o▫e bẖī gaṯ pāhi. ||2||
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, even then, he may be saved. ||2||

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮਹਾ ਅਤਤਾਈ
संत का निंदकु महा अतताई ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak mahā aṯṯā▫ī.
The slanderer of the Saint is the worst evil-doer.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਟਿਕਨੁ ਪਾਈ
संत का निंदकु खिनु टिकनु न पाई ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak kẖin tikan na pā▫ī.
The slanderer of the Saint has not even a moment's rest.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮਹਾ ਹਤਿਆਰਾ
संत का निंदकु महा हतिआरा ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak mahā haṯi▫ārā.
The slanderer of the Saint is a brutal butcher.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਾ
संत का निंदकु परमेसुरि मारा ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak parmesur mārā.
The slanderer of the Saint is cursed by the Transcendent Lord.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਹੀਨੁ
संत का निंदकु राज ते हीनु ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak rāj ṯe hīn.
The slanderer of the Saint has no kingdom.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਅਰੁ ਦੀਨੁ
संत का निंदकु दुखीआ अरु दीनु ॥
Sanṯ kā ninḏak ḏukẖī▫ā ar ḏīn.
The slanderer of the Saint becomes miserable and poor.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਸਰਬ ਰੋਗ
संत के निंदक कउ सरब रोग ॥
Sanṯ ke ninḏak ka▫o sarab rog.
The slanderer of the Saint contracts all diseases.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਜੋਗ
संत के निंदक कउ सदा बिजोग ॥
Sanṯ ke ninḏak ka▫o saḏā bijog.
The slanderer of the Saint is forever separated.

ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੋਖ ਮਹਿ ਦੋਖੁ
संत की निंदा दोख महि दोखु ॥
Sanṯ kī ninḏā ḏokẖ mėh ḏokẖ.
To slander a Saint is the worst sin of sins.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਉਸ ਕਾ ਭੀ ਹੋਇ ਮੋਖੁ ॥੩॥
नानक संत भावै ता उस का भी होइ मोखु ॥३॥
Nānak sanṯ bẖāvai ṯā us kā bẖī ho▫e mokẖ. ||3||
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even this one may be liberated. ||3||

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਅਪਵਿਤੁ
संत का दोखी सदा अपवितु ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī saḏā apviṯ.
The slanderer of the Saint is forever impure.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਮਿਤੁ
संत का दोखी किसै का नही मितु ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī kisai kā nahī miṯ.
The slanderer of the Saint is nobody's friend.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਡਾਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ
संत के दोखी कउ डानु लागै ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī ka▫o dān lāgai.
The slanderer of the Saint shall be punished.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗੈ
संत के दोखी कउ सभ तिआगै ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī ka▫o sabẖ ṯi▫āgai.
The slanderer of the Saint is abandoned by all.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਮਹਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ
संत का दोखी महा अहंकारी ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī mahā ahaʼnkārī.
The slanderer of the Saint is totally egocentric.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ
संत का दोखी सदा बिकारी ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī saḏā bikārī.
The slanderer of the Saint is forever corrupt.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਜਨਮੈ ਮਰੈ
संत का दोखी जनमै मरै ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī janmai marai.
The slanderer of the Saint must endure birth and death.

ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਦੂਖਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਟਰੈ
संत की दूखना सुख ते टरै ॥
Sanṯ kī ḏūkẖnā sukẖ ṯe tarai.
The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of peace.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ
संत के दोखी कउ नाही ठाउ ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī ka▫o nāhī ṯẖā▫o.
The slanderer of the Saint has no place of rest.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
नानक संत भावै ता लए मिलाइ ॥४॥
Nānak sanṯ bẖāvai ṯā la▫e milā▫e. ||4||
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even such a one may merge in union. ||4||

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਅਧ ਬੀਚ ਤੇ ਟੂਟੈ
संत का दोखी अध बीच ते टूटै ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī aḏẖ bīcẖ ṯe tūtai.
The slanderer of the Saint breaks down mid-way.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਿਤੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਪਹੂਚੈ
संत का दोखी कितै काजि न पहूचै ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī kiṯai kāj na pahūcẖai.
The slanderer of the Saint cannot accomplish his tasks.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਈਐ
संत के दोखी कउ उदिआन भ्रमाईऐ ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī ka▫o uḏi▫ān bẖarmā▫ī▫ai.
The slanderer of the Saint wanders in the wilderness.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਈਐ
संत का दोखी उझड़ि पाईऐ ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī ujẖaṛ pā▫ī▫ai.
The slanderer of the Saint is misled into desolation.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਤੇ ਥੋਥਾ
संत का दोखी अंतर ते थोथा ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī anṯar ṯe thothā.
The slanderer of the Saint is empty inside,

ਜਿਉ ਸਾਸ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕੀ ਲੋਥਾ
जिउ सास बिना मिरतक की लोथा ॥
Ji▫o sās binā mirṯak kī lothā.
like the corpse of a dead man, without the breath of life.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ ਜੜ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ
संत के दोखी की जड़ किछु नाहि ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī kī jaṛ kicẖẖ nāhi.
The slanderer of the Saint has no heritage at all.

ਆਪਨ ਬੀਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ
आपन बीजि आपे ही खाहि ॥
Āpan bīj āpe hī kẖāhi.
He himself must eat what he has planted.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਅਵਰੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ
संत के दोखी कउ अवरु न राखनहारु ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī ka▫o avar na rākẖanhār.
The slanderer of the Saint cannot be saved by anyone else.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥੫॥
नानक संत भावै ता लए उबारि ॥५॥
Nānak sanṯ bẖāvai ṯā la▫e ubār. ||5||
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even he may be saved. ||5||

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਇਉ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ
संत का दोखी इउ बिललाइ ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī i▫o billā▫e.
The slanderer of the Saint bewails like this -

ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਤੜਫੜਾਇ
जिउ जल बिहून मछुली तड़फड़ाइ ॥
Ji▫o jal bihūn macẖẖulī ṯaṛafṛā▫e.
like a fish, out of water, writhing in agony.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਭੂਖਾ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਜੈ
संत का दोखी भूखा नही राजै ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī bẖūkẖā nahī rājai.
The slanderer of the Saint is hungry and is never satisfied,

ਜਿਉ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਈਧਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ
जिउ पावकु ईधनि नही ध्रापै ॥
Ji▫o pāvak īḏẖan nahī ḏẖarāpai.
as fire is not satisfied by fuel.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਛੁਟੈ ਇਕੇਲਾ
संत का दोखी छुटै इकेला ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī cẖẖutai ikelā.
The slanderer of the Saint is left all alone,

ਜਿਉ ਬੂਆੜੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਖੇਤ ਮਾਹਿ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ
जिउ बूआड़ु तिलु खेत माहि दुहेला ॥
Ji▫o bū▫āṛ ṯil kẖeṯ māhi ḏuhelā.
like the miserable barren sesame stalk abandoned in the field.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਰਹਤ
संत का दोखी धरम ते रहत ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī ḏẖaram ṯe rahaṯ.
The slanderer of the Saint is devoid of faith.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਹਤ
संत का दोखी सद मिथिआ कहत ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī saḏ mithi▫ā kahaṯ.
The slanderer of the Saint constantly lies.

ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਧੁਰਿ ਹੀ ਪਇਆ
किरतु निंदक का धुरि ही पइआ ॥
Kiraṯ ninḏak kā ḏẖur hī pa▫i▫ā.
The fate of the slanderer is pre-ordained from the very beginning of time.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਥਿਆ ॥੬॥
नानक जो तिसु भावै सोई थिआ ॥६॥
Nānak jo ṯis bẖāvai so▫ī thi▫ā. ||6||
O Nanak, whatever pleases God's Will comes to pass. ||6||

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਬਿਗੜ ਰੂਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ
संत का दोखी बिगड़ रूपु होइ जाइ ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī bigaṛ rūp ho▫e jā▫e.
The slanderer of the Saint becomes deformed.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕਉ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ
संत के दोखी कउ दरगह मिलै सजाइ ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī ka▫o ḏargėh milai sajā▫e.
The slanderer of the Saint receives his punishment in the Court of the Lord.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਕਾਈਐ
संत का दोखी सदा सहकाईऐ ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī saḏā sahkā▫ī▫ai.
The slanderer of the Saint is eternally in limbo.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਮਰੈ ਜੀਵਾਈਐ
संत का दोखी न मरै न जीवाईऐ ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī na marai na jīvā▫ī▫ai.
He does not die, but he does not live either.

ਸੰਤ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੀ ਪੁਜੈ ਆਸਾ
संत के दोखी की पुजै न आसा ॥
Sanṯ ke ḏokẖī kī pujai na āsā.
The hopes of the slanderer of the Saint are not fulfilled.

ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦੋਖੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੈ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ
संत का दोखी उठि चलै निरासा ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏokẖī uṯẖ cẖalai nirāsā.
The slanderer of the Saint departs disappointed.

ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਦੋਖਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਟੈ ਕੋਇ
संत कै दोखि न त्रिसटै कोइ ॥
Sanṯ kai ḏokẖ na ṯaristai ko▫e.
Slandering the Saint, no one attains satisfaction.

ਜੈਸਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇ
जैसा भावै तैसा कोई होइ ॥
Jaisā bẖāvai ṯaisā ko▫ī ho▫e.
As it pleases the Lord, so do people become;

ਪਇਆ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ
पइआ किरतु न मेटै कोइ ॥
Pa▫i▫ā kiraṯ na metai ko▫e.
no one can erase their past actions.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥
नानक जानै सचा सोइ ॥७॥
Nānak jānai sacẖā so▫e. ||7||
O Nanak, the True Lord alone knows all. ||7||

ਸਭ ਘਟ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਓਹੁ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ
सभ घट तिस के ओहु करनैहारु ॥
Sabẖ gẖat ṯis ke oh karnaihār.
All hearts are His; He is the Creator.

ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ
सदा सदा तिस कउ नमसकारु ॥
Saḏā saḏā ṯis ka▫o namaskār.
Forever and ever, I bow to Him in reverence.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ
प्रभ की उसतति करहु दिनु राति ॥
Parabẖ kī usṯaṯ karahu ḏin rāṯ.
Praise God, day and night.

ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ
तिसहि धिआवहु सासि गिरासि ॥
Ŧisėh ḏẖi▫āvahu sās girās.
Meditate on Him with every breath and morsel of food.

ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ
सभु कछु वरतै तिस का कीआ ॥
Sabẖ kacẖẖ varṯai ṯis kā kī▫ā.
Everything happens as He wills.

ਜੈਸਾ ਕਰੇ ਤੈਸਾ ਕੋ ਥੀਆ
जैसा करे तैसा को थीआ ॥
Jaisā kare ṯaisā ko thī▫ā.
As He wills, so people become.

ਅਪਨਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ
अपना खेलु आपि करनैहारु ॥
Apnā kẖel āp karnaihār.
He Himself is the play, and He Himself is the actor.

ਦੂਸਰ ਕਉਨੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ
दूसर कउनु कहै बीचारु ॥
Ḏūsar ka▫un kahai bīcẖār.
Who else can speak or deliberate upon this?
