ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੂਰੇ
निधि निधान हरि अम्रित पूरे ॥
Niḏẖ niḏẖān har amriṯ pūre.
They are filled and fulfilled with the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, the Treasure of sublime wealth;

ਤਹ ਬਾਜੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥੩੬॥
तह बाजे नानक अनहद तूरे ॥३६॥
Ŧah bāje Nānak anhaḏ ṯūre. ||36||
O Nanak, the unstruck celestial melody vibrates for them. ||36||

ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤਜਿ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ
पति राखी गुरि पारब्रहम तजि परपंच मोह बिकार ॥
Paṯ rākẖī gur pārbarahm ṯaj parpancẖ moh bikār.
The Guru, the Supreme Lord God, preserved my honor, when I renounced hypocrisy, emotional attachment and corruption.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਊ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
नानक सोऊ आराधीऐ अंतु न पारावारु ॥१॥
Nānak so▫ū ārāḏẖī▫ai anṯ na pārāvār. ||1||
O Nanak, worship and adore the One, who has no end or limitation. ||1||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਪਪਾ ਪਰਮਿਤਿ ਪਾਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ
पपा परमिति पारु न पाइआ ॥
Papā parmiṯ pār na pā▫i▫ā.
PAPPA: He is beyond estimation; His limits cannot be found.

ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਅਗਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ
पतित पावन अगम हरि राइआ ॥
Paṯiṯ pāvan agam har rā▫i▫ā.
The Sovereign Lord King is inaccessible;

ਹੋਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕੋਟ ਅਪਰਾਧੂ
होत पुनीत कोट अपराधू ॥
Hoṯ punīṯ kot aprāḏẖū.
He is the Purifier of sinners. Millions of sinners are purified;

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ
अम्रित नामु जपहि मिलि साधू ॥
Amriṯ nām jāpėh mil sāḏẖū.
they meet the Holy, and chant the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਪਰਪਚ ਧ੍ਰੋਹ ਮੋਹ ਮਿਟਨਾਈ
परपच ध्रोह मोह मिटनाई ॥
Parpacẖ ḏẖaroh moh mitnāī.
Deception, fraud and emotional attachment are eliminated,

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਸਾਈ
जा कउ राखहु आपि गुसाई ॥
Jā ka▫o rākẖo āp gusā▫ī.
by those who are protected by the Lord of the World.

ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਸਿਰ ਸੋਊ
पातिसाहु छत्र सिर सोऊ ॥
Pāṯisāhu cẖẖaṯar sir so▫ū.
He is the Supreme King, with the royal canopy above His Head.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦੂਸਰ ਅਵਰੁ ਕੋਊ ॥੩੭॥
नानक दूसर अवरु न कोऊ ॥३७॥
Nānak ḏūsar avar na ko▫ū. ||37||
O Nanak, there is no other at all. ||37||

ਸਲੋਕੁ
सलोकु ॥

Shalok:

ਫਾਹੇ ਕਾਟੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਗਵਨ ਫਤਿਹ ਭਈ ਮਨਿ ਜੀਤ
फाहे काटे मिटे गवन फतिह भई मनि जीत ॥
Fāhe kāte mite gavan faṯih bẖa▫ī man jīṯ.
The noose of Death is cut, and one's wanderings cease; victory is obtained, when one conquers his own mind.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਥਿਤ ਪਾਈ ਫਿਰਨ ਮਿਟੇ ਨਿਤ ਨੀਤ ॥੧॥
नानक गुर ते थित पाई फिरन मिटे नित नीत ॥१॥
Nānak gur ṯe thiṯ pā▫ī firan mite niṯ nīṯ. ||1||
O Nanak, eternal stability is obtained from the Guru, and one's day-to-day wanderings cease. ||1||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥

Pauree:

ਫਫਾ ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਤੂ ਆਇਆ
फफा फिरत फिरत तू आइआ ॥
Fafā firaṯ firaṯ ṯū ā▫i▫ā.
FAFFA: After wandering and wandering for so long, you have come;

ਦ੍ਰੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ
द्रुलभ देह कलिजुग महि पाइआ ॥
Ḏarulabẖ ḏeh kalijug mėh pā▫i▫ā.
in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, you have obtained this human body, so very difficult to obtain.

ਫਿਰਿ ਇਆ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਚਰੈ ਹਾਥਾ
फिरि इआ अउसरु चरै न हाथा ॥
Fir i▫ā a▫osar cẖarai na hāthā.
This opportunity shall not come into your hands again.

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਤਉ ਕਟੀਅਹਿ ਫਾਸਾ
नामु जपहु तउ कटीअहि फासा ॥
Nām japahu ṯa▫o katī▫ah fāsā.
So chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and the noose of Death shall be cut away.

ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ਹੋਈ
फिरि फिरि आवन जानु न होई ॥
Fir fir āvan jān na ho▫ī.
You shall not have to come and go in reincarnation over and over again,

ਏਕਹਿ ਏਕ ਜਪਹੁ ਜਪੁ ਸੋਈ
एकहि एक जपहु जपु सोई ॥
Ėkėh ek japahu jap so▫ī.
if you chant and meditate on the One and Only Lord.

ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੇ
करहु क्रिपा प्रभ करनैहारे ॥
Karahu kirpā parabẖ karnaihāre.
Shower Your Mercy, O God, Creator Lord,

ਮੇਲਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਚਾਰੇ ॥੩੮॥
मेलि लेहु नानक बेचारे ॥३८॥
Mel leho Nānak becẖāre. ||38||
and unite poor Nanak with Yourself. ||38||

ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ
बिनउ सुनहु तुम पारब्रहम दीन दइआल गुपाल ॥
Bin▫o sunhu ṯum pārbarahm ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl gupāl.
Hear my prayer, O Supreme Lord God, Merciful to the meek, Lord of the World.

ਸੁਖ ਸੰਪੈ ਬਹੁ ਭੋਗ ਰਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲ ॥੧॥
सुख स्मपै बहु भोग रस नानक साध रवाल ॥१॥
Sukẖ sampai baho bẖog ras Nānak sāḏẖ ravāl. ||1||
The dust of the feet of the Holy is peace, wealth, great enjoyment and pleasure for Nanak. ||1||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਬਬਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਾਨਤ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ
बबा ब्रहमु जानत ते ब्रहमा ॥
Babā barahm jānaṯ ṯe barahmā.
BABBA: One who knows God is a Brahmin.

ਬੈਸਨੋ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਚ ਧਰਮਾ
बैसनो ते गुरमुखि सुच धरमा ॥
Baisno ṯe gurmukẖ sucẖ ḏẖarmā.
A Vaishnaav is one who, as Gurmukh, lives the righteous life of Dharma.

ਬੀਰਾ ਆਪਨ ਬੁਰਾ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ
बीरा आपन बुरा मिटावै ॥
Bīrā āpan burā mitāvai.
One who eradicates his own evil is a brave warrior;

ਤਾਹੂ ਬੁਰਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ
ताहू बुरा निकटि नही आवै ॥
Ŧāhū burā nikat nahī āvai.
no evil even approaches him.

ਬਾਧਿਓ ਆਪਨ ਹਉ ਹਉ ਬੰਧਾ
बाधिओ आपन हउ हउ बंधा ॥
Bāḏẖi▫o āpan ha▫o ha▫o banḏẖā.
Man is bound by the chains of his own egotism, selfishness and conceit.

ਦੋਸੁ ਦੇਤ ਆਗਹ ਕਉ ਅੰਧਾ
दोसु देत आगह कउ अंधा ॥
Ḏos ḏeṯ āgah ka▫o anḏẖā.
The spiritually blind place the blame on others.

ਬਾਤ ਚੀਤ ਸਭ ਰਹੀ ਸਿਆਨਪ
बात चीत सभ रही सिआनप ॥
Bāṯ cẖīṯ sabẖ rahī si▫ānap.
But all debates and clever tricks are of no use at all.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਨਾਵਹੁ ਸੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਨਾਨਕ ॥੩੯॥
जिसहि जनावहु सो जानै नानक ॥३९॥
Jisahi janāvhu so jānai Nānak. ||39||
O Nanak, he alone comes to know, whom the Lord inspires to know. ||39||

ਸਲੋਕੁ

Shalok:

ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਅਘ ਦੂਖ ਨਾਸ ਮਨਹਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਰੇ
भै भंजन अघ दूख नास मनहि अराधि हरे ॥
Bẖai bẖanjan agẖ ḏūkẖ nās manėh arāḏẖ hare.
The Destroyer of fear, the Eradicator of sin and sorrow - enshrine that Lord in your mind.

ਸੰਤਸੰਗ ਜਿਹ ਰਿਦ ਬਸਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮੇ ॥੧॥
संतसंग जिह रिद बसिओ नानक ते न भ्रमे ॥१॥
Saṯsang jih riḏ basi▫o Nānak ṯe na bẖarame. ||1||
One whose heart abides in the Society of the Saints, O Nanak, does not wander around in doubt. ||1||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥

Pauree:

ਭਭਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਅਪਨਾ
भभा भरमु मिटावहु अपना ॥
Bẖabẖā bẖaram mitāvhu apnā.
BHABHA: Cast out your doubt and delusion -

ਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਹੈ ਸੁਪਨਾ
इआ संसारु सगल है सुपना ॥
I▫ā sansār sagal hai supnā.
this world is just a dream.

ਭਰਮੇ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ
भरमे सुरि नर देवी देवा ॥
Bẖarme sur nar ḏevī ḏevā.
The angelic beings, goddesses and gods are deluded by doubt.

ਭਰਮੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇਵਾ
भरमे सिध साधिक ब्रहमेवा ॥
Bẖarme siḏẖ sāḏẖik barahmevā.
The Siddhas and seekers, and even Brahma are deluded by doubt.

ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਏ
भरमि भरमि मानुख डहकाए ॥
Bẖaram bẖaram mānukẖ dahkā▫e.
Wandering around, deluded by doubt, people are ruined.

ਦੁਤਰ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਮ ਇਹ ਮਾਏ
दुतर महा बिखम इह माए ॥
Ḏuṯar mahā bikẖam ih mā▫e.
It is so very difficult and treacherous to cross over this ocean of Maya.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ
गुरमुखि भ्रम भै मोह मिटाइआ ॥
Gurmukẖ bẖaram bẖai moh mitā▫i▫ā.
That Gurmukh who has eradicated doubt, fear and attachment,

ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਹ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪੦॥
नानक तेह परम सुख पाइआ ॥४०॥
Nānak ṯeh param sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||40||
O Nanak, obtains supreme peace. ||40||

ਸਲੋਕੁ

Shalok:

ਮਾਇਆ ਡੋਲੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਪਟਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗ
माइआ डोलै बहु बिधी मनु लपटिओ तिह संग ॥
Mā▫i▫ā dolai baho biḏẖī man lapti▫o ṯih sang.
Maya clings to the mind, and causes it to waver in so many ways.

ਮਾਗਨ ਤੇ ਜਿਹ ਤੁਮ ਰਖਹੁ ਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਹਿ ਰੰਗ ॥੧॥
मागन ते जिह तुम रखहु सु नानक नामहि रंग ॥१॥
Māgan ṯe jih ṯum rakẖahu so Nānak nāmėh rang. ||1||
When You, O Lord, restrain someone from asking for wealth, then, O Nanak, he comes to love the Name. ||1||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਮਮਾ ਮਾਗਨਹਾਰ ਇਆਨਾ
ममा मागनहार इआना ॥
Mamā māganhār i▫ānā.
MAMMA: The beggar is so ignorant -

ਦੇਨਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਓ ਸੁਜਾਨਾ
देनहार दे रहिओ सुजाना ॥
Ḏenhār ḏe rahi▫o sujānā.
the Great Giver continues to give. He is All-knowing.

ਜੋ ਦੀਨੋ ਸੋ ਏਕਹਿ ਬਾਰ
जो दीनो सो एकहि बार ॥
Jo ḏīno so ekėh bār.
Whatever He gives, He gives once and for all.

ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਹ ਕਰਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰ
मन मूरख कह करहि पुकार ॥
Man mūrakẖ kah karahi pukār.
O foolish mind, why do you complain, and cry out so loud?

ਜਉ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਤਉ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਬੀਆ
जउ मागहि तउ मागहि बीआ ॥
Ja▫o māgėh ṯa▫o māgėh bī▫ā.
Whenever you ask for something, you ask for worldly things;

ਜਾ ਤੇ ਕੁਸਲ ਕਾਹੂ ਥੀਆ
जा ते कुसल न काहू थीआ ॥
Jā ṯe kusal na kāhū thī▫ā.
no one has obtained happiness from these.

ਮਾਗਨਿ ਮਾਗ ਏਕਹਿ ਮਾਗ
मागनि माग त एकहि माग ॥
Māgan māg ṯa ekėh māg.
If you must ask for a gift, then ask for the One Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਗ ॥੪੧॥
नानक जा ते परहि पराग ॥४१॥
Nānak jā ṯe parėh parāg. ||41||
O Nanak, by Him, you shall be saved. ||41||
