ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਧਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੋ
हरि गुण सारी ता कंत पिआरी नामे धरी पिआरो ॥
Har guṇ sārī ṯā kanṯ pi▫ārī nāme ḏẖarī pi▫āro.
Dwell upon the Lord's Glories, and you shall be loved by your Husband, embracing love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਲਿ ਹਾਰੋ ॥੨॥
नानक कामणि नाह पिआरी राम नामु गलि हारो ॥२॥
Nānak kāmaṇ nāh pi▫ārī rām nām gal hāro. ||2||
O Nanak, the soul-bride who wears the necklace of the Lord's Name around her neck is loved by her Husband Lord. ||2||

ਧਨ ਏਕਲੜੀ ਜੀਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ
धन एकलड़ी जीउ बिनु नाह पिआरे ॥
Ḏẖan ekalṛī jī▫o bin nāh pi▫āre.
The soul-bride who is without her beloved Husband is all alone.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮੁਠੀ ਜੀਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਕਰਾਰੇ
दूजै भाइ मुठी जीउ बिनु गुर सबद करारे ॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e muṯẖī jī▫o bin gur sabaḏ karāre.
She is cheated by the love of duality, without the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਉਣੁ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਖੁਆਈ
बिनु सबद पिआरे कउणु दुतरु तारे माइआ मोहि खुआई ॥
Bin sabaḏ pi▫āre ka▫uṇ ḏuṯar ṯāre mā▫i▫ā mohi kẖu▫ā▫ī.
Without the Shabad of her Beloved, how can she cross over the treacherous ocean? Attachment to Maya has led her astray.

ਕੂੜਿ ਵਿਗੁਤੀ ਤਾ ਪਿਰਿ ਮੁਤੀ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਈ
कूड़ि विगुती ता पिरि मुती सा धन महलु न पाई ॥
Kūṛ viguṯī ṯā pir muṯī sā ḏẖan mahal na pā▫ī.
Ruined by falsehood, she is deserted by her Husband Lord. The soul-bride does not attain the Mansion of His Presence.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਏ
गुर सबदे राती सहजे माती अनदिनु रहै समाए ॥
Gur sabḏe rāṯī sėhje māṯī an▫ḏin rahai samā▫e.
But she who is attuned to the Guru's Shabad is intoxicated with celestial love; night and day, she remains absorbed in Him.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੩॥
नानक कामणि सदा रंगि राती हरि जीउ आपि मिलाए ॥३॥
Nānak kāmaṇ saḏā rang rāṯī har jī▫o āp milā▫e. ||3||
O Nanak, that soul-bride who remains constantly steeped in His Love, is blended by the Lord into Himself. ||3||

ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਜੀਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਣੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ
ता मिलीऐ हरि मेले जीउ हरि बिनु कवणु मिलाए ॥
Ŧā milī▫ai har mele jī▫o har bin kavaṇ milā▫e.
If the Lord merges us with Himself, we are merged with Him. Without the Dear Lord, who can merge us with Him?

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਉ ਕਉਣੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ
बिनु गुर प्रीतम आपणे जीउ कउणु भरमु चुकाए ॥
Bin gur parīṯam āpṇe jī▫o ka▫uṇ bẖaram cẖukā▫e.
Without our Beloved Guru, who can dispel our doubt?

ਗੁਰੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ਇਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਮਾਏ ਤਾ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ
गुरु भरमु चुकाए इउ मिलीऐ माए ता सा धन सुखु पाए ॥
Gur bẖaram cẖukā▫e i▫o milī▫ai mā▫e ṯā sā ḏẖan sukẖ pā▫e.
Through the Guru, doubt is dispelled. O my mother, this is the way to meet Him; this is how the soul-bride finds peace.

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਗੁ ਪਾਏ
गुर सेवा बिनु घोर अंधारु बिनु गुर मगु न पाए ॥
Gur sevā bin gẖor anḏẖār bin gur mag na pā▫e.
Without serving the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. Without the Guru, the Way is not found.

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ
कामणि रंगि राती सहजे माती गुर कै सबदि वीचारे ॥
Kāmaṇ rang rāṯī sėhje māṯī gur kai sabaḏ vīcẖāre.
That wife who is intuitively imbued with the color of His Love, contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
नानक कामणि हरि वरु पाइआ गुर कै भाइ पिआरे ॥४॥१॥
Nānak kāmaṇ har var pā▫i▫ā gur kai bẖā▫e pi▫āre. ||4||1||
O Nanak, the soul-bride obtains the Lord as her Husband, by enshrining love for the Beloved Guru. ||4||1||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 3.
Gauree, Third Mehl:

ਪਿਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਖਰੀ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਜੀਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ
पिर बिनु खरी निमाणी जीउ बिनु पिर किउ जीवा मेरी माई ॥
Pir bin kẖarī nimāṇī jī▫o bin pir ki▫o jīvā merī mā▫ī.
Without my Husband, I am utterly dishonored. Without my Husband Lord, how can I live, O my mother?

ਪਿਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਨੀਦ ਆਵੈ ਜੀਉ ਕਾਪੜੁ ਤਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ
पिर बिनु नीद न आवै जीउ कापड़ु तनि न सुहाई ॥
Pir bin nīḏ na āvai jī▫o kāpaṛ ṯan na suhā▫ī.
Without my Husband, sleep does not come, and my body is not adorned with my bridal dress.

ਕਾਪਰੁ ਤਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ਜਾ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈਐ
कापरु तनि सुहावै जा पिर भावै गुरमती चितु लाईऐ ॥
Kāpar ṯan suhāvai jā pir bẖāvai gurmaṯī cẖiṯ lā▫ī▫ai.
The bridal dress looks beautiful upon my body, when I am pleasing to my Husband Lord. Following the Guru's Teachings, my consciousness is focused on Him.

ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ
सदा सुहागणि जा सतिगुरु सेवे गुर कै अंकि समाईऐ ॥
Saḏā suhāgaṇ jā saṯgur seve gur kai ank samā▫ī▫ai.
I become His happy soul-bride forever, when I serve the True Guru; I sit in the Lap of the Guru.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੈ ਮੇਲਾ ਤਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੀ ਲਾਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ
गुर सबदै मेला ता पिरु रावी लाहा नामु संसारे ॥
Gur sabḏai melā ṯā pir rāvī lāhā nām sansāre.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the soul-bride meets her Husband Lord, who ravishes and enjoys her. The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the only profit in this world.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
नानक कामणि नाह पिआरी जा हरि के गुण सारे ॥१॥
Nānak kāmaṇ nāh pi▫ārī jā har ke guṇ sāre. ||1||
O Nanak, the soul-bride is loved by her Husband, when she dwells upon the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||

ਸਾ ਧਨ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ
सा धन रंगु माणे जीउ आपणे नालि पिआरे ॥
Sā ḏẖan rang māṇe jī▫o āpṇe nāl pi▫āre.
The soul-bride enjoys the Love of her Beloved.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਜੀਉ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ
अहिनिसि रंगि राती जीउ गुर सबदु वीचारे ॥
Ahinis rang rāṯī jī▫o gur sabaḏ vīcẖāre.
Imbued with His Love night and day, she contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੇ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ
गुर सबदु वीचारे हउमै मारे इन बिधि मिलहु पिआरे ॥
Gur sabaḏ vīcẖāre ha▫umai māre in biḏẖ milhu pi▫āre.
Contemplating the Guru's Shabad, she conquers her ego, and in this way, she meets her Beloved.

ਸਾ ਧਨ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ
सा धन सोहागणि सदा रंगि राती साचै नामि पिआरे ॥
Sā ḏẖan sohagaṇ saḏā rang rāṯī sācẖai nām pi▫āre.
She is the happy soul-bride of her Lord, who is forever imbued with the Love of the True Name of her Beloved.

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਗਹੀਐ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ
अपुने गुर मिलि रहीऐ अम्रितु गहीऐ दुबिधा मारि निवारे ॥
Apune gur mil rahī▫ai amriṯ gahī▫ai ḏubiḏẖā mār nivāre.
Abiding in the Company of our Guru, we grasp the Ambrosial Nectar; we conquer and cast out our sense of duality.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
नानक कामणि हरि वरु पाइआ सगले दूख विसारे ॥२॥
Nānak kāmaṇ har var pā▫i▫ā sagle ḏūkẖ visāre. ||2||
O Nanak, the soul-bride attains her Husband Lord, and forgets all her pains. ||2||

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਪਿਰਹੁ ਭੁਲੀ ਜੀਉ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ
कामणि पिरहु भुली जीउ माइआ मोहि पिआरे ॥
Kāmaṇ pirahu bẖulī jī▫o mā▫i▫ā mohi pi▫āre.
The soul-bride has forgotten her Husband Lord, because of love and emotional attachment to Maya.

ਝੂਠੀ ਝੂਠਿ ਲਗੀ ਜੀਉ ਕੂੜਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਕੂੜਿਆਰੇ
झूठी झूठि लगी जीउ कूड़ि मुठी कूड़िआरे ॥
Jẖūṯẖī jẖūṯẖ lagī jī▫o kūṛ muṯẖī kūṛi▫āre.
The false bride is attached to falsehood; the insincere one is cheated by insincerity.

ਕੂੜੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਾਰੇ
कूड़ु निवारे गुरमति सारे जूऐ जनमु न हारे ॥
Kūṛ nivāre gurmaṯ sāre jū▫ai janam na hāre.
She who drives out her falsehood, and acts according to the Guru's Teachings, does not lose her life in the gamble.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੇ
गुर सबदु सेवे सचि समावै विचहु हउमै मारे ॥
Gur sabaḏ seve sacẖ samāvai vicẖahu ha▫umai māre.
One who serves the Word of the Guru's Shabad is absorbed in the True Lord; she eradicates egotism from within.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਏ ਐਸਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੀਗਾਰੋ
हरि का नामु रिदै वसाए ऐसा करे सीगारो ॥
Har kā nām riḏai vasā▫e aisā kare sīgāro.
So let the Name of the Lord abide within your heart; decorate yourself in this way.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੋ ॥੩॥
नानक कामणि सहजि समाणी जिसु साचा नामु अधारो ॥३॥
Nānak kāmaṇ sahj samāṇī jis sācẖā nām aḏẖāro. ||3||
O Nanak, the soul-bride who takes the Support of the True Name is intuitively absorbed in the Lord. ||3||

ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਾ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਖਰੀ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ
मिलु मेरे प्रीतमा जीउ तुधु बिनु खरी निमाणी ॥
Mil mere parīṯamā jī▫o ṯuḏẖ bin kẖarī nimāṇī.
Meet me, O my Dear Beloved. Without You, I am totally dishonored.

ਮੈ ਨੈਣੀ ਨੀਦ ਆਵੈ ਜੀਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਅੰਨੁ ਪਾਣੀ
मै नैणी नीद न आवै जीउ भावै अंनु न पाणी ॥
Mai naiṇī nīḏ na āvai jī▫o bẖāvai ann na pāṇī.
Sleep does not come to my eyes, and I have no desire for food or water.

ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਨੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਮਰੀਐ ਹਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ
पाणी अंनु न भावै मरीऐ हावै बिनु पिर किउ सुखु पाईऐ ॥
Pāṇī ann na bẖāvai marī▫ai hāvai bin pir ki▫o sukẖ pā▫ī▫ai.
I have no desire for food or water, and I am dying from the pain of separation. Without my Husband Lord, how can I find peace?
