ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਏਕੈ
करन करावन सभु किछु एकै ॥
Karan karāvan sabẖ kicẖẖ ekai.
The One Lord is the Creator of all things, the Cause of causes.

ਆਪੇ ਬੁਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੈ
आपे बुधि बीचारि बिबेकै ॥
Āpe buḏẖ bīcẖār bibekai.
He Himself is wisdom, contemplation and discerning understanding.

ਦੂਰਿ ਨੇਰੈ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਾ
दूरि न नेरै सभ कै संगा ॥
Ḏūr na nerai sabẖ kai sangā.
He is not far away; He is near at hand, with all.

ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਣੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਾ ॥੮॥੧॥
सचु सालाहणु नानक हरि रंगा ॥८॥१॥
Sacẖ sālāhaṇ Nānak har rangā. ||8||1||
So praise the True One, O Nanak, with love! ||8||1||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਾਗਾ
गुर सेवा ते नामे लागा ॥
Gur sevā ṯe nāme lāgā.
Serving the Guru, one is committed to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗਾ
तिस कउ मिलिआ जिसु मसतकि भागा ॥
Ŧis ka▫o mili▫ā jis masṯak bẖāgā.
It is received only by those who have such good destiny inscribed upon their foreheads.

ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਇ
तिस कै हिरदै रविआ सोइ ॥
Ŧis kai hirḏai ravi▫ā so▫e.
The Lord dwells within their hearts.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
मनु तनु सीतलु निहचलु होइ ॥१॥
Man ṯan sīṯal nihcẖal ho▫e. ||1||
Their minds and bodies become peaceful and stable. ||1||

ਐਸਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ
ऐसा कीरतनु करि मन मेरे ॥
Aisā kīrṯan kar man mere.
O my mind, sing such Praises of the Lord,

ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਜੋ ਕਾਮਿ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ईहा ऊहा जो कामि तेरै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Īhā ūhā jo kām ṯerai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
which shall be of use to you here and hereafter. ||1||Pause||

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਭਉ ਅਪਦਾ ਜਾਇ
जासु जपत भउ अपदा जाइ ॥
Jās japaṯ bẖa▫o apḏā jā▫e.
Meditating on Him, fear and misfortune depart,

ਧਾਵਤ ਮਨੂਆ ਆਵੈ ਠਾਇ
धावत मनूआ आवै ठाइ ॥
Ḏẖāvaṯ manū▫ā āvai ṯẖā▫e.
and the wandering mind is held steady.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਲਾਗੈ
जासु जपत फिरि दूखु न लागै ॥
Jās japaṯ fir ḏūkẖ na lāgai.
Meditating on Him, suffering shall never again overtake you.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੨॥
जासु जपत इह हउमै भागै ॥२॥
Jās japaṯ ih ha▫umai bẖāgai. ||2||
Meditating on Him, this ego runs away. ||2||

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਵਸਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਪੰਚਾ
जासु जपत वसि आवहि पंचा ॥
Jās japaṯ vas āvahi pancẖā.
Meditating on Him, the five passions are overcome.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਰਿਦੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸੰਚਾ
जासु जपत रिदै अम्रितु संचा ॥
Jās japaṯ riḏai amriṯ sancẖā.
Meditating on Him, Ambrosial Nectar is collected in the heart.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਇਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ
जासु जपत इह त्रिसना बुझै ॥
Jās japaṯ ih ṯarisnā bujẖai.
Meditating on Him, this desire is quenched.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਸਿਝੈ ॥੩॥
जासु जपत हरि दरगह सिझै ॥३॥
Jās japaṯ har ḏargėh sijẖai. ||3||
Meditating on Him, one is approved in the Court of the Lord. ||3||

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧ
जासु जपत कोटि मिटहि अपराध ॥
Jās japaṯ kot mitėh aprāḏẖ.
Meditating on Him, millions of mistakes are erased.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਸਾਧ
जासु जपत हरि होवहि साध ॥
Jās japaṯ har hovėh sāḏẖ.
Meditating on Him, one becomes Holy, blessed by the Lord.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ
जासु जपत मनु सीतलु होवै ॥
Jās japaṯ man sīṯal hovai.
Meditating on Him, the mind is cooled and soothed.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਲੁ ਸਗਲੀ ਖੋਵੈ ॥੪॥
जासु जपत मलु सगली खोवै ॥४॥
Jās japaṯ mal saglī kẖovai. ||4||
Meditating on Him, all filth is washed away. ||4||

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ
जासु जपत रतनु हरि मिलै ॥
Jās japaṯ raṯan har milai.
Meditating on Him, the jewel of the Lord is obtained.

ਬਹੁਰਿ ਛੋਡੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਿਲੈ
बहुरि न छोडै हरि संगि हिलै ॥
Bahur na cẖẖodai har sang hilai.
One is reconciled with the Lord, and shall not abandon Him again.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਕਈ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਾਸੁ
जासु जपत कई बैकुंठ वासु ॥
Jās japaṯ ka▫ī baikunṯẖ vās.
Meditating on Him, many acquire a home in the heavens.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੫॥
जासु जपत सुख सहजि निवासु ॥५॥
Jās japaṯ sukẖ sahj nivās. ||5||
Meditating on Him, one abides in intuitive peace. ||5||

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਇਹ ਅਗਨਿ ਪੋਹਤ
जासु जपत इह अगनि न पोहत ॥
Jās japaṯ ih agan na pohaṯ.
Meditating on Him, one is not affected by this fire.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਇਹੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਜੋਹਤ
जासु जपत इहु कालु न जोहत ॥
Jās japaṯ ih kāl na johaṯ.
Meditating on Him, one is not under the gaze of Death.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਾਥਾ
जासु जपत तेरा निरमल माथा ॥
Jās japaṯ ṯerā nirmal māthā.
Meditating on Him, your forehead shall be immaculate.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਸਗਲਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥੬॥
जासु जपत सगला दुखु लाथा ॥६॥
Jās japaṯ saglā ḏukẖ lāthā. ||6||
Meditating on Him, all pains are destroyed. ||6||

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਮੁਸਕਲੁ ਕਛੂ ਬਨੈ
जासु जपत मुसकलु कछू न बनै ॥
Jās japaṯ muskal kacẖẖū na banai.
Meditating on Him, no difficulties are encountered.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਣਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਧੁਨੈ
जासु जपत सुणि अनहत धुनै ॥
Jās japaṯ suṇ anhaṯ ḏẖunai.
Meditating on Him, one hears the unstruck melody.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਇਹ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ
जासु जपत इह निरमल सोइ ॥
Jās japaṯ ih nirmal so▫e.
Meditating on Him, one acquires this pure reputation.

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਕਮਲੁ ਸੀਧਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੭॥
जासु जपत कमलु सीधा होइ ॥७॥
Jās japaṯ kamal sīḏẖā ho▫e. ||7||
Meditating on Him, the heart-lotus is turned upright. ||7||

ਗੁਰਿ ਸੁਭ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਰੀ
गुरि सुभ द्रिसटि सभ ऊपरि करी ॥
Gur subẖ ḏarisat sabẖ ūpar karī.
The Guru has bestowed His Glance of Grace upon all,

ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦੇ ਹਰੀ
जिस कै हिरदै मंत्रु दे हरी ॥
Jis kai hirḏai manṯar ḏe harī.
within whose hearts the Lord has implanted His Mantra.

ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਚੂਰਾ
अखंड कीरतनु तिनि भोजनु चूरा ॥
Akẖand kīrṯan ṯin bẖojan cẖūrā.
The unbroken Kirtan of the Lord's Praises is their food and nourishment.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੮॥੨॥
कहु नानक जिसु सतिगुरु पूरा ॥८॥२॥
Kaho Nānak jis saṯgur pūrā. ||8||2||
Says Nanak, they have the Perfect True Guru. ||8||2||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਰੈ
गुर का सबदु रिद अंतरि धारै ॥
Gur kā sabaḏ riḏ anṯar ḏẖārai.
Those who implant the Word of the Guru's Shabad within their hearts

ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ
पंच जना सिउ संगु निवारै ॥
Pancẖ janā si▫o sang nivārai.
cut their connections with the five passions.

ਦਸ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਵਾਸਿ
दस इंद्री करि राखै वासि ॥
Ḏas inḏrī kar rākẖai vās.
They keep the ten organs under their control;

ਤਾ ਕੈ ਆਤਮੈ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
ता कै आतमै होइ परगासु ॥१॥
Ŧā kai āṯmai ho▫e pargās. ||1||
their souls are enlightened. ||1||

ਐਸੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹੋਇ
ऐसी द्रिड़ता ता कै होइ ॥
Aisī ḏariṛ▫ṯā ṯā kai ho▫e.
They alone acquire such stability,

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जा कउ दइआ मइआ प्रभ सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jā ka▫o ḏa▫i▫ā ma▫i▫ā parabẖ so▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
whom God blesses with His Mercy and Grace. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਜਨੁ ਦੁਸਟੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨੈ
साजनु दुसटु जा कै एक समानै ॥
Sājan ḏusat jā kai ek samānai.
Friend and foe are one and the same to them.

ਜੇਤਾ ਬੋਲਣੁ ਤੇਤਾ ਗਿਆਨੈ
जेता बोलणु तेता गिआनै ॥
Jeṯā bolaṇ ṯeṯā gi▫ānai.
Whatever they speak is wisdom.

ਜੇਤਾ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਤੇਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ
जेता सुनणा तेता नामु ॥
Jeṯā sunṇā ṯeṯā nām.
Whatever they hear is the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਜੇਤਾ ਪੇਖਨੁ ਤੇਤਾ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੨॥
जेता पेखनु तेता धिआनु ॥२॥
Jeṯā pekẖan ṯeṯā ḏẖi▫ān. ||2||
Whatever they see is meditation. ||2||

ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾਗਣੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੋਇ
सहजे जागणु सहजे सोइ ॥
Sėhje jāgaṇ sėhje so▫e.
They awaken in peace and poise; they sleep in peace and poise.

ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਤਾ ਜਾਇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ
सहजे होता जाइ सु होइ ॥
Sėhje hoṯā jā▫e so ho▫e.
That which is meant to be, automatically happens.

ਸਹਜਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਹਸਨਾ
सहजि बैरागु सहजे ही हसना ॥
Sahj bairāg sėhje hī hasnā.
In peace and poise, they remain detached; in peace and poise, they laugh.

ਸਹਜੇ ਚੂਪ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੩॥
सहजे चूप सहजे ही जपना ॥३॥
Sėhje cẖūp sėhje hī japnā. ||3||
In peace and poise, they remain silent; in peace and poise, they chant. ||3||

ਸਹਜੇ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਭਾਉ
सहजे भोजनु सहजे भाउ ॥
Sėhje bẖojan sėhje bẖā▫o.
In peace and poise they eat; in peace and poise they love.

ਸਹਜੇ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਰਾਉ
सहजे मिटिओ सगल दुराउ ॥
Sėhje miti▫o sagal ḏurā▫o.
The illusion of duality is easily and totally removed.

ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ
सहजे होआ साधू संगु ॥
Sėhje ho▫ā sāḏẖū sang.
They naturally join the Saadh Sangat, the Society of the Holy.

ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਸੰਗੁ ॥੪॥
सहजि मिलिओ पारब्रहमु निसंगु ॥४॥
Sahj mili▫o pārbarahm nisang. ||4||
In peace and poise, they meet and merge with the Supreme Lord God. ||4||

ਸਹਜੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ
सहजे ग्रिह महि सहजि उदासी ॥
Sėhje garih mėh sahj uḏāsī.
They are at peace in their homes, and they are at peace while detached.
