गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ
जोग जुगति सुनि आइओ गुर ते ॥
Jog jugaṯ sun ā▫i▫o gur ṯe.
I came to the Guru, to learn the Way of Yoga.

ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੁਝਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मो कउ सतिगुर सबदि बुझाइओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mo ka▫o saṯgur sabaḏ bujẖā▫i▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The True Guru has revealed it to me through the Word of the Shabad. ||1||Pause||

ਨਉ ਖੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਾ
नउ खंड प्रिथमी इसु तन महि रविआ निमख निमख नमसकारा ॥
Na▫o kẖand parithmī is ṯan mėh ravi▫ā nimakẖ nimakẖ namaskārā.
He is contained in the nine continents of the world, and within this body; each and every moment, I humbly bow to Him.

ਦੀਖਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਕਾਨੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਿਓ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
दीखिआ गुर की मुंद्रा कानी द्रिड़िओ एकु निरंकारा ॥१॥
Ḏīkẖi▫ā gur kī munḏrā kānī ḏariṛi▫o ek nirankārā. ||1||
I have made the Guru's Teachings my ear-rings, and I have enshrined the One Formless Lord within my being. ||1||

ਪੰਚ ਚੇਲੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਏ ਇਕਤ੍ਰਾ ਏਕਸੁ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਏ
पंच चेले मिलि भए इकत्रा एकसु कै वसि कीए ॥
Pancẖ cẖele mil bẖa▫e ikṯarā ekas kai vas kī▫e.
I have brought the five disciples together, and they are now under the control of the one mind.

ਦਸ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਤਬ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੋਗੀ ਥੀਏ ॥੨॥
दस बैरागनि आगिआकारी तब निरमल जोगी थीए ॥२॥
Ḏas bairāgan āgi▫ākārī ṯab nirmal jogī thī▫e. ||2||
When the ten hermits become obedient to the Lord, then I became an immaculate Yogi. ||2||

ਭਰਮੁ ਜਰਾਇ ਚਰਾਈ ਬਿਭੂਤਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਏਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੇਖਿਆ
भरमु जराइ चराई बिभूता पंथु एकु करि पेखिआ ॥
Bẖaram jarā▫e cẖarā▫ī bibẖūṯā panth ek kar pekẖi▫ā.
I have burnt my doubt, and smeared my body with the ashes. My path is to see the One and Only Lord.

ਸਹਜ ਸੂਖ ਸੋ ਕੀਨੀ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖਿਆ ॥੩॥
सहज सूख सो कीनी भुगता जो ठाकुरि मसतकि लेखिआ ॥३॥
Sahj sūkẖ so kīnī bẖugṯā jo ṯẖākur masṯak lekẖi▫ā. ||3||
I have made that intuitive peace my food; the Lord Master has written this pre-ordained destiny upon my forehead. ||3||

ਜਹ ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਹਾ ਆਸਨੁ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਸਿੰਗੀ ਅਨਹਤ ਬਾਨੀ
जह भउ नाही तहा आसनु बाधिओ सिंगी अनहत बानी ॥
Jah bẖa▫o nāhī ṯahā āsan bāḏẖi▫o singī anhaṯ bānī.
In that place where there is no fear, I have assumed my Yogic posture. The unstruck melody of His Bani is my horn.

ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਡੰਡਾ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਨੀ ॥੪॥
ततु बीचारु डंडा करि राखिओ जुगति नामु मनि भानी ॥४॥
Ŧaṯ bīcẖār dandā kar rākẖi▫o jugaṯ nām man bẖānī. ||4||
I have made contemplation upon the essential reality my Yogic staff. The Love of the Name in my mind is my Yogic lifestyle. ||4||

ਐਸਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਭੇਟੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੈ
ऐसा जोगी वडभागी भेटै माइआ के बंधन काटै ॥
Aisā jogī vadbẖāgī bẖetai mā▫i▫ā ke banḏẖan kātai.
By great good fortune, such a Yogi is met, who cuts away the bonds of Maya.

ਸੇਵਾ ਪੂਜ ਕਰਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਕੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਗ ਚਾਟੈ ॥੫॥੧੧॥੧੩੨॥
सेवा पूज करउ तिसु मूरति की नानकु तिसु पग चाटै ॥५॥११॥१३२॥
Sevā pūj kara▫o ṯis mūraṯ kī Nānak ṯis pag cẖātai. ||5||11||132||
Nanak serves and adores this wondrous person, and kisses his feet. ||5||11||132||

ਅਨੂਪ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਗਲ ਧਿਆਇਲੇ ਮੀਤਾ
अनूप पदारथु नामु सुनहु सगल धिआइले मीता ॥
Anūp paḏārath nām sunhu sagal ḏẖi▫ā▫ile mīṯā.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is an incomparably beautiful treasure. Listen, everyone, and meditate on it, O friends.

ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि अउखधु जा कउ गुरि दीआ ता के निरमल चीता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har a▫ukẖaḏẖ jā ka▫o gur ḏī▫ā ṯā ke nirmal cẖīṯā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Those, unto whom the Guru has given the Lord's medicine - their minds become pure and immaculate. ||1||Pause||

ਅੰਧਕਾਰੁ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ
अंधकारु मिटिओ तिह तन ते गुरि सबदि दीपकु परगासा ॥
Anḏẖkār miti▫o ṯih ṯan ṯe gur sabaḏ ḏīpak pargāsā.
Darkness is dispelled from within that body, in which the Divine Light of the Guru's Shabad shines.

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਜਾਲੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
भ्रम की जाली ता की काटी जा कउ साधसंगति बिस्वासा ॥१॥
Bẖaram kī jālī ṯā kī kātī jā ka▫o sāḏẖsangaṯ bisvāsā. ||1||
The noose of doubt is cut away from those who place their faith in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||

ਤਾਰੀਲੇ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੂ ਬਿਖੜਾ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਾ
तारीले भवजलु तारू बिखड़ा बोहिथ साधू संगा ॥
Ŧārīle bẖavjal ṯārū bikẖ▫ṛā bohith sāḏẖū sangā.
The treacherous and terrifying world-ocean is crossed over, in the boat of the Saadh Sangat.

ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਾ ॥੨॥
पूरन होई मन की आसा गुरु भेटिओ हरि रंगा ॥२॥
Pūran ho▫ī man kī āsā gur bẖeti▫o har rangā. ||2||
My mind's desires are fulfilled, meeting the Guru, in love with the Lord. ||2||

ਨਾਮ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ
नाम खजाना भगती पाइआ मन तन त्रिपति अघाए ॥
Nām kẖajānā bẖagṯī pā▫i▫ā man ṯan ṯaripaṯ agẖā▫e.
The devotees have found the treasure of the Naam; their minds and bodies are satisfied and satiated.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਦੇਵੈ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਏ ॥੩॥੧੨॥੧੩੩॥
नानक हरि जीउ ता कउ देवै जा कउ हुकमु मनाए ॥३॥१२॥१३३॥
Nānak har jī▫o ṯā ka▫o ḏevai jā ka▫o hukam manā▫e. ||3||12||133||
O Nanak, the Dear Lord gives it only to those who surrender to the Lord's Command. ||3||12||133||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਮੋਰੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੋਰੀ
दइआ मइआ करि प्रानपति मोरे मोहि अनाथ सरणि प्रभ तोरी ॥
Ḏa▫i▫ā ma▫i▫ā kar parānpaṯ more mohi anāth saraṇ parabẖ ṯorī.
Please be kind and compassionate, O Lord of my life; I am helpless, and I seek Your Sanctuary, God.

ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਉਕਤਿ ਮੋਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
अंध कूप महि हाथ दे राखहु कछू सिआनप उकति न मोरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anḏẖ kūp mėh hāth ḏe rākẖo kacẖẖū si▫ānap ukaṯ na morī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Please, give me Your Hand, and lift me up, out of the deep dark pit. I have no clever tricks at all. ||1||Pause||

ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਤੁਮ ਸਮਰਥ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਨ ਹੋਰੀ
करन करावन सभ किछु तुम ही तुम समरथ नाही अन होरी ॥
Karan karāvan sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯum hī ṯum samrath nāhī an horī.
You are the Doer, the Cause of causes - You are everything. You are All-powerful; there is no other than You.

ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਸੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਜਿਨ ਭਾਗ ਮਥੋਰੀ ॥੧॥
तुमरी गति मिति तुम ही जानी से सेवक जिन भाग मथोरी ॥१॥
Ŧumrī gaṯ miṯ ṯum hī jānī se sevak jin bẖāg mathorī. ||1||
You alone know Your condition and extent. They alone become Your servants, upon whose foreheads such good destiny is recorded. ||1||

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਤੇ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਰੀ
अपुने सेवक संगि तुम प्रभ राते ओति पोति भगतन संगि जोरी ॥
Apune sevak sang ṯum parabẖ rāṯe oṯ poṯ bẖagṯan sang jorī.
You are imbued with Your servant, God; Your devotees are woven into Your Fabric, through and through.

ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਚਾਹੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਓਹ ਚੰਦ ਚਕੋਰੀ ॥੨॥
प्रिउ प्रिउ नामु तेरा दरसनु चाहै जैसे द्रिसटि ओह चंद चकोरी ॥२॥
Pari▫o pari▫o nām ṯerā ḏarsan cẖāhai jaise ḏarisat oh cẖanḏ cẖakorī. ||2||
O Darling Beloved, they yearn for Your Name and the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, like the chakvee bird which longs to see the moon. ||2||

ਰਾਮ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਿ ਭੇਦੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਏਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਕਈ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਖ ਕਰੋਰੀ
राम संत महि भेदु किछु नाही एकु जनु कई महि लाख करोरी ॥
Rām sanṯ mėh bẖeḏ kicẖẖ nāhī ek jan ka▫ī mėh lākẖ karorī.
Between the Lord and His Saint, there is no difference at all. Among hundreds of thousands and millions, there is scarcely one humble being.

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਆ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਰਸਨ ਰਮੋਰੀ ॥੩॥
जा कै हीऐ प्रगटु प्रभु होआ अनदिनु कीरतनु रसन रमोरी ॥३॥
Jā kai hī▫ai pargat parabẖ ho▫ā an▫ḏin kīrṯan rasan ramorī. ||3||
Those whose hearts are illuminated by God, sing the Kirtan of His Praises night and day with their tongues. ||3||

ਤੁਮ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਤਿ ਊਚੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧੋਰੀ
तुम समरथ अपार अति ऊचे सुखदाते प्रभ प्रान अधोरी ॥
Ŧum samrath apār aṯ ūcẖe sukẖ▫ḏāṯe parabẖ parān aḏẖorī.
You are All-powerful and Infinite, the most lofty and exalted, the Giver of peace; O God, You are the Support of the breath of life.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਜੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਉਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਗੋਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੧੩੪॥
नानक कउ प्रभ कीजै किरपा उन संतन कै संगि संगोरी ॥४॥१३॥१३४॥
Nānak ka▫o parabẖ kījai kirpā un sanṯan kai sang sangorī. ||4||13||134||
Please show mercy to Nanak, O God, that he may remain in the Society of the Saints. ||4||13||134||
