ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਛੋਡਹਿ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ
करि करि हारिओ अनिक बहु भाती छोडहि कतहूं नाही ॥
Kar kar hāri▫o anik baho bẖāṯī cẖẖodėh kaṯahūʼn nāhī.
Trying all sorts of things, I have grown weary, but still, they will not leave me alone.

ਏਕ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਤਾਕੀ ਓਟਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
एक बात सुनि ताकी ओटा साधसंगि मिटि जाही ॥२॥
Ėk bāṯ sun ṯākī otā sāḏẖsang mit jāhī. ||2||
But I have heard that they can be rooted out, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; and so I seek their Shelter. ||2||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਪਾਇਆ
करि किरपा संत मिले मोहि तिन ते धीरजु पाइआ ॥
Kar kirpā sanṯ mile mohi ṯin ṯe ḏẖīraj pā▫i▫ā.
In their Mercy, the Saints have met me, and from them, I have obtained satisfaction.

ਸੰਤੀ ਮੰਤੁ ਦੀਓ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
संती मंतु दीओ मोहि निरभउ गुर का सबदु कमाइआ ॥३॥
Sanṯī manṯ ḏī▫o mohi nirbẖa▫o gur kā sabaḏ kamā▫i▫ā. ||3||
The Saints have given me the Mantra of the Fearless Lord, and now I practice the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3||

ਜੀਤਿ ਲਏ ਓਇ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ
जीति लए ओइ महा बिखादी सहज सुहेली बाणी ॥
Jīṯ la▫e o▫e mahā bikẖāḏī sahj suhelī baṇī.
I have now conquered those terrible evil-doers, and my speech is now sweet and sublime.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨੫॥
कहु नानक मनि भइआ परगासा पाइआ पदु निरबाणी ॥४॥४॥१२५॥
Kaho Nānak man bẖa▫i▫ā pargāsā pā▫i▫ā paḏ nirbāṇī. ||4||4||125||
Says Nanak, the Divine Light has dawned within my mind; I have obtained the state of Nirvaanaa. ||4||4||125||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਓਹੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਇਆ
ओहु अबिनासी राइआ ॥
Oh abẖināsī rā▫i▫ā.
He is the Eternal King.

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਬਸਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਡਰਨੁ ਕਹਾ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
निरभउ संगि तुमारै बसते इहु डरनु कहा ते आइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Nirbẖa▫o sang ṯumārai basṯe ih daran kahā ṯe ā▫i▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Fearless Lord abides with you. So where does this fear come from? ||1||Pause||

ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਹਿ ਅਫਾਰੋ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਨਿਮਾਨੋ
एक महलि तूं होहि अफारो एक महलि निमानो ॥
Ėk mahal ṯūʼn hohi afāro ek mahal nimāno.
In one person, You are arrogant and proud, and in another, You are meek and humble.

ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਗਰੀਬਾਨੋ ॥੧॥
एक महलि तूं आपे आपे एक महलि गरीबानो ॥१॥
Ėk mahal ṯūʼn āpe āpe ek mahal garībāno. ||1||
In one person, You are all by Yourself, and in another, You are poor. ||1||

ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਬਕਤਾ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਖਲੁ ਹੋਤਾ
एक महलि तूं पंडितु बकता एक महलि खलु होता ॥
Ėk mahal ṯūʼn pandiṯ bakṯā ek mahal kẖal hoṯā.
In one person, you are a Pandit, a religious scholar and a preacher, and in another, You are just a fool.

ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਗ੍ਰਾਹਜੁ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਕਛੂ ਲੇਤਾ ॥੨॥
एक महलि तूं सभु किछु ग्राहजु एक महलि कछू न लेता ॥२॥
Ėk mahal ṯūʼn sabẖ kicẖẖ garāhaj ek mahal kacẖẖū na leṯā. ||2||
In one person, You grab hold of everything, and in another, You accept nothing. ||2||

ਕਾਠ ਕੀ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਬਪੁਰੀ ਖਿਲਾਵਨਹਾਰੋ ਜਾਨੈ
काठ की पुतरी कहा करै बपुरी खिलावनहारो जानै ॥
Kāṯẖ kī puṯrī kahā karai bapurī kẖilāvanhāro jānai.
What can the poor wooden puppet do? The Master Puppeteer knows everything.

ਜੈਸਾ ਭੇਖੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਬਾਜੀਗਰੁ ਓਹੁ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਸਾਜੁ ਆਨੈ ॥੩॥
जैसा भेखु करावै बाजीगरु ओहु तैसो ही साजु आनै ॥३॥
Jaisā bẖekẖ karāvai bājīgar oh ṯaiso hī sāj ānai. ||3||
As the Puppeteer dresses the puppet, so is the role the puppet plays. ||3||

ਅਨਿਕ ਕੋਠਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਆ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ
अनिक कोठरी बहुतु भाति करीआ आपि होआ रखवारा ॥
Anik koṯẖrī bahuṯ bẖāṯ karī▫ā āp ho▫ā rakẖvārā.
The Lord has created the various chambers of assorted descriptions, and He Himself protects them.

ਜੈਸੇ ਮਹਲਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਤੈਸੈ ਰਹਨਾ ਕਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
जैसे महलि राखै तैसै रहना किआ इहु करै बिचारा ॥४॥
Jaise mahal rākẖai ṯaisai rahnā ki▫ā ih karai bicẖārā. ||4||
As is that vessel in which the Lord places the soul, so does it dwell. What can this poor being do? ||4||

ਜਿਨਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਆ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਾਜੀ
जिनि किछु कीआ सोई जानै जिनि इह सभ बिधि साजी ॥
Jin kicẖẖ kī▫ā so▫ī jānai jin ih sabẖ biḏẖ sājī.
The One who created the thing, understands it; He has fashioned all of this.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਾਜੀ ॥੫॥੫॥੧੨੬॥
कहु नानक अपर्मपर सुआमी कीमति अपुने काजी ॥५॥५॥१२६॥
Kaho Nānak aprampar su▫āmī kīmaṯ apune kājī. ||5||5||126||
Says Nanak, the Lord and Master is Infinite; He alone understands the value of His Creation. ||5||5||126||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਛੋਡਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਰੇ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕੇ ਰਸੂਆ
छोडि छोडि रे बिखिआ के रसूआ ॥
Cẖẖod cẖẖod re bikẖi▫ā ke rasū▫ā.
Give them up - give up the pleasures of corruption;

ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਰੇ ਬਾਵਰ ਗਾਵਰ ਜਿਉ ਕਿਰਖੈ ਹਰਿਆਇਓ ਪਸੂਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
उरझि रहिओ रे बावर गावर जिउ किरखै हरिआइओ पसूआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Urajẖ rahi▫o re bāvar gāvar ji▫o kirkẖai hari▫ā▫i▫o pasū▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
you are entangled in them, you crazy fool, like an animal grazing in the green fields. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਾਜੈ ਸੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਤਸੂਆ
जो जानहि तूं अपुने काजै सो संगि न चालै तेरै तसूआ ॥
Jo jānėh ṯūʼn apune kājai so sang na cẖālai ṯerai ṯasū▫ā.
That which you believe to be of use to you, shall not go even an inch with you.

ਨਾਗੋ ਆਇਓ ਨਾਗ ਸਿਧਾਸੀ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਲਿ ਗਰਸੂਆ ॥੧॥
नागो आइओ नाग सिधासी फेरि फिरिओ अरु कालि गरसूआ ॥१॥
Nāgo ā▫i▫o nāg siḏẖāsī fer firi▫o ar kāl garsū▫ā. ||1||
Naked you came, and naked you shall depart. You shall go round and round the cycle of birth and death, and you shall be food for Death. ||1||

ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਰੇ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਕੀ ਲੀਲਾ ਰਾਚਿ ਮਾਚਿ ਤਿਨਹੂੰ ਲਉ ਹਸੂਆ
पेखि पेखि रे कसु्मभ की लीला राचि माचि तिनहूं लउ हसूआ ॥
Pekẖ pekẖ re kasumbẖ kī līlā rācẖ mācẖ ṯinhūʼn la▫o hasū▫ā.
Watching, watching the transitory dramas of the world, you are embroiled and enmeshed in them, and you laugh with delight.

ਛੀਜਤ ਡੋਰਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਅਰੁ ਰੈਨੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਕਾਜੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਛੂਆ ॥੨॥
छीजत डोरि दिनसु अरु रैनी जीअ को काजु न कीनो कछूआ ॥२॥
Cẖẖījaṯ dor ḏinas ar rainī jī▫a ko kāj na kīno kacẖẖū▫ā. ||2||
The string of life is wearing thin, day and night, and you have done nothing for your soul. ||2||

ਕਰਤ ਕਰਤ ਇਵ ਹੀ ਬਿਰਧਾਨੋ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਉਕਤੇ ਤਨੁ ਖੀਨਸੂਆ
करत करत इव ही बिरधानो हारिओ उकते तनु खीनसूआ ॥
Karaṯ karaṯ iv hī birḏẖāno hāri▫o ukṯe ṯan kẖīnsū▫ā.
Doing your deeds, you have grown old; your voice fails you, and your body has become weak.

ਜਿਉ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਉਨਿ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਬਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੁਚ ਚਸੂਆ ॥੩॥
जिउ मोहिओ उनि मोहनी बाला उस ते घटै नाही रुच चसूआ ॥३॥
Ji▫o mohi▫o un mohnī bālā us ṯe gẖatai nāhī rucẖ cẖasū▫ā. ||3||
You were enticed by Maya in your youth, and your attachment for it has not diminished, one little bit. ||3||

ਜਗੁ ਐਸਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ਤਉ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਤਜਿ ਗਰਬਸੂਆ
जगु ऐसा मोहि गुरहि दिखाइओ तउ सरणि परिओ तजि गरबसूआ ॥
Jag aisā mohi gurėh ḏikẖā▫i▫o ṯa▫o saraṇ pari▫o ṯaj garabsu▫ā.
The Guru has shown me that this is the way of the world; I have abandoned the dwelling of pride, and entered Your Sanctuary.

ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੋ ਸੰਤਿ ਬਤਾਇਓ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੂਆ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੨੭॥
मारगु प्रभ को संति बताइओ द्रिड़ी नानक दास भगति हरि जसूआ ॥४॥६॥१२७॥
Mārag parabẖ ko sanṯ baṯā▫i▫o ḏariṛī Nānak ḏās bẖagaṯ har jasū▫ā. ||4||6||127||
The Saint has shown me the Path of God; slave Nanak has implanted devotional worship and the Praise of the Lord. ||4||6||127||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी महला ५ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਨੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ
तुझ बिनु कवनु हमारा ॥
Ŧujẖ bin kavan hamārā.
Except for You, who is mine?

ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मेरे प्रीतम प्रान अधारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mere parīṯam parān aḏẖārā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O my Beloved, You are the Support of the breath of life. ||1||Pause||

ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸਜਨ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ
अंतर की बिधि तुम ही जानी तुम ही सजन सुहेले ॥
Anṯar kī biḏẖ ṯum hī jānī ṯum hī sajan suhele.
You alone know the condition of my inner being. You are my Beautiful Friend.

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਮੈ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥੧॥
सरब सुखा मै तुझ ते पाए मेरे ठाकुर अगह अतोले ॥१॥
Sarab sukẖā mai ṯujẖ ṯe pā▫e mere ṯẖākur agah aṯole. ||1||
I receive all comforts from You, O my Unfathomable and Immeasurable Lord and Master. ||1||
