ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥
Anṯar alakẖ na jā▫ī lakẖi▫ā vicẖ paṛ▫ḏā ha▫umai pā▫ī.
The Unseen Lord is deep within the self; He cannot be seen; the curtain of egotism intervenes.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੋ ਜਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
Mā▫i▫ā mohi sabẖo jag so▫i▫ā ih bẖaram kahhu ki▫o jā▫ī. ||1||
In emotional attachment to Maya, all the world is asleep. Tell me, how can this doubt be dispelled? ||1||
|
ਏਕਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਇਕਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬਸਤੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
Ėkā sangaṯ ikaṯ garihi basṯe mil bāṯ na karṯe bẖā▫ī.
The one lives together with the other in the same house, but they do not talk to one another, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਏਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੁਹੇਲੇ ਓਹ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਠਾਈ ॥੨॥
Ėk basaṯ bin pancẖ ḏuhele oh basaṯ agocẖar ṯẖā▫ī. ||2||
Without the one substance, the five are miserable; that substance is in the unapproachable place. ||2||
|
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਾਲਾ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਉਪਾਈ ॥
Jis kā garihu ṯin ḏī▫ā ṯālā kunjī gur sa▫upā▫ī.
And the one whose home it is, has locked it up, and given the key to the Guru.

ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੩॥
Anik upāv kare nahī pāvai bin saṯgur sarṇā▫ī. ||3||
You may make all sorts of efforts, but it cannot be obtained, without the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||3||
|
ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
Jin ke banḏẖan kāte saṯgur ṯin sāḏẖsangaṯ liv lā▫ī.
Those whose bonds have been broken by the True Guru, enshrine love for the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥
Pancẖ janā mil mangal gā▫i▫ā har Nānak bẖeḏ na bẖā▫ī. ||4||
The self-elect, the self-realized beings, meet together and sing the joyous songs of the Lord. Nanak, there is no difference between them, O Siblings of Destiny. ||4||

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
Mere rām rā▫e in biḏẖ milai gusā▫ī.
This is how my Sovereign Lord King, the Lord of the Universe, is met;

ਸਹਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਠਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨੨॥
Sahj bẖa▫i▫ā bẖaram kẖin mėh nāṯẖā mil joṯī joṯ samā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o ḏūjā. ||1||122||
celestial bliss is attained in an instant, and doubt is dispelled. Meeting Him, my light merges in the Light. ||1||Second. Pause||1||122||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਐਸੋ ਪਰਚਉ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
Aiso parcẖa▫o pā▫i▫o.
I am intimate with Him;
|
ਕਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਬੀਠੁਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੁਝਹਿ ਬਤਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Karī kirpā ḏa▫i▫āl bīṯẖule saṯgur mujẖėh baṯā▫i▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
granting His Grace, my Kind Beloved has told me of the True Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਜਤ ਕਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਸੁਆਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਆਇਓ ॥
Jaṯ kaṯ ḏekẖ▫a▫u ṯaṯ ṯaṯ ṯum hī mohi ih bisu▫ās ho▫e ā▫i▫o.
Wherever I look, there You are; I am totally convinced of this.

ਕੈ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਉ ਸੁਨਤੋ ਹੈ ਰਘੁਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
Kai pėh kara▫o arḏās benṯī ja▫o sunṯo hai ragẖurā▫i▫o. ||1||
Unto whom should I pray? The Lord Himself hears all. ||1||
|
ਲਹਿਓ ਸਹਸਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਤੋਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
Lahi▫o sahsā banḏẖan gur ṯore ṯāʼn saḏā sahj sukẖ pā▫i▫o.
My anxiety is over. The Guru has cut away my bonds, and I have found eternal peace.

ਹੋਣਾ ਸਾ ਸੋਈ ਫੁਨਿ ਹੋਸੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਹਾ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
Hoṇā sā so▫ī fun hosī sukẖ ḏukẖ kahā ḏikẖā▫i▫o. ||2||
Whatever shall be, shall be in the end; so where can pain and pleasure be seen? ||2||
|
ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਠਾਣਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਰਦਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ॥
Kẖand barahmand kā eko ṯẖāṇā gur parḏā kẖol ḏikẖā▫i▫o.
The continents and the solar systems rest in the support of the One Lord. The Guru has removed the veil of illusion, and shown this to me.

ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਇਕ ਠਾਈ ਤਉ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੈਠੈ ਜਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
Na▫o niḏẖ nām niḏẖān ik ṯẖā▫ī ṯa▫o bāhar kaiṯẖai jā▫i▫o. ||3||
The nine treasures of the wealth of the Name of the Lord are in that one place. Where else should we go? ||3||
|
ਏਕੈ ਕਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਰਚਾਇਓ ॥
Ėkai kanik anik bẖāṯ sājī baho parkār racẖā▫i▫o.
The same gold is fashioned into various articles; just so, the Lord has made the many patterns of the creation.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਈ ਹੈ ਇਵ ਤਤੈ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੨੩॥
Kaho Nānak bẖaram gur kẖo▫ī hai iv ṯaṯai ṯaṯ milā▫i▫o. ||4||2||123||
Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt; in this way, my essence merges into God's essence. ||4||2||123||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਅਉਧ ਘਟੈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਾਰੇ ॥
A▫oḏẖ gẖatai ḏinas raināre.
This life is diminishing, day and night.
|
ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Man gur mil kāj savāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meeting with the Guru, your affairs shall be resolved. ||1||Pause||
|
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥
Kara▫o benanṯī sunhu mere mīṯā sanṯ tahal kī belā.
Listen, my friends, I beg of you: now is the time to serve the Saints!

ਈਹਾ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਆਗੈ ਬਸਨੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥੧॥
Īhā kẖāt cẖalhu har lāhā āgai basan suhelā. ||1||
In this world, earn the profit of the Lord's Name, and hereafter, you shall dwell in peace. ||1||
|
ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਸਹਸੇ ਮਹਿ ਤਰਿਓ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
Ih sansār bikār sahse mėh ṯari▫o barahm gi▫ānī.
This world is engrossed in corruption and cynicism. Only those who know God are saved.
|
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਗਾਇ ਪੀਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
Jisahi jagā▫e pī▫ā▫e har ras akath kathā ṯin jānī. ||2||
Those who are awakened by the Lord to drink in this sublime essence, come to know the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਆਏ ਸੋਈ ਵਿਹਾਝਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
Jā ka▫o ā▫e so▫ī vihājẖahu har gur ṯe manėh baserā.
Purchase only that for which you have come into the world, and through the Guru, the Lord shall dwell within your mind.

ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਇਗੋ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੩॥
Nij gẖar mahal pāvhu sukẖ sėhje bahur na ho▫igo ferā. ||3||
Within the home of your own inner being, you shall obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence with intuitive ease. You shall not be consigned again to the wheel of reincarnation. ||3||
|
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
Anṯarjāmī purakẖ biḏẖāṯe sarḏẖā man kī pūre.
O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts, Primal Being, Architect of Destiny: please fulfill this yearning of my mind.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੨੪॥
Nānak ḏās ihī sukẖ māgai mo ka▫o kar sanṯan kī ḏẖūre. ||4||3||124||
Nanak, Your slave, begs for this happiness: let me be the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||3||124||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਰਾਖੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
Rākẖ piṯā parabẖ mere.
Save me, O My Father God.

ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਸਭ ਗੁਨ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Mohi nirgun sabẖ gun ṯere. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I am worthless and without virtue; all virtues are Yours. ||1||Pause||
|
ਪੰਚ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਏਕੁ ਗਰੀਬਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
Pancẖ bikẖāḏī ek garībā rākẖo rākẖanhāre.
The five vicious thieves are assaulting my poor being; save me, O Savior Lord!

ਖੇਦੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਰੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸੰਤਾਵਹਿ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
Kẖeḏ karahi ar bahuṯ sanṯāvėh ā▫i▫o saran ṯuhāre. ||1||
They are tormenting and torturing me. I have come, seeking Your Sanctuary. ||1||
