ਕਵਨ ਗੁਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਮਿਲਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कवन गुन प्रानपति मिलउ मेरी माई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kavan gun parānpaṯ mila▫o merī mā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By what virtues can I meet the Lord of life, O my mother? ||1||Pause||

ਰੂਪ ਹੀਨ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਲ ਹੀਨੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਰਦੇਸਨਿ ਦੂਰ ਤੇ ਆਈ ॥੧॥
रूप हीन बुधि बल हीनी मोहि परदेसनि दूर ते आई ॥१॥
Rūp hīn buḏẖ bal hīnī mohi parḏesan ḏūr ṯe ā▫ī. ||1||
I have no beauty, understanding or strength; I am a stranger, from far away. ||1||

ਨਾਹਿਨ ਦਰਬੁ ਨ ਜੋਬਨ ਮਾਤੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੀ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
नाहिन दरबु न जोबन माती मोहि अनाथ की करहु समाई ॥२॥
Nāhin ḏarab na joban māṯī mohi anāth kī karahu samā▫ī. ||2||
I am not wealthy or youthful. I am an orphan - please, unite me with Yourself. ||2||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਈ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਫਿਰਤ ਤਿਸਾਈ ॥੩॥
खोजत खोजत भई बैरागनि प्रभ दरसन कउ हउ फिरत तिसाई ॥३॥
Kẖojaṯ kẖojaṯ bẖa▫ī bairāgan parabẖ ḏarsan ka▫o ha▫o firaṯ ṯisā▫ī. ||3||
Searching and searching, I have become a renunciate, free of desire. I wander around, searching for the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan. ||3||

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੧੮॥
दीन दइआल क्रिपाल प्रभ नानक साधसंगि मेरी जलनि बुझाई ॥४॥१॥११८॥
Ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl kirpāl parabẖ Nānak sāḏẖsang merī jalan bujẖā▫ī. ||4||1||118||
God is Compassionate, and Merciful to the meek; O Nanak, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the fire of desire has been quenched. ||4||1||118||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
प्रभ मिलबे कउ प्रीति मनि लागी ॥
Parabẖ milbe ka▫o parīṯ man lāgī.
The loving desire to meet my Beloved has arisen within my mind.

ਪਾਇ ਲਗਉ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੋਊ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पाइ लगउ मोहि करउ बेनती कोऊ संतु मिलै बडभागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pā▫e laga▫o mohi kara▫o benṯī ko▫ū sanṯ milai badbẖāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I touch His Feet, and offer my prayer to Him. If only I had the great good fortune to meet the Saint. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਖਉ ਆਗੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
मनु अरपउ धनु राखउ आगै मन की मति मोहि सगल तिआगी ॥
Man arpa▫o ḏẖan rākẖa▫o āgai man kī maṯ mohi sagal ṯi▫āgī.
I surrender my mind to Him; I place my wealth before Him. I totally renounce my selfish ways.

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਫਿਰਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਿਛੈ ਵਿਰਾਗੀ ॥੧॥
जो प्रभ की हरि कथा सुनावै अनदिनु फिरउ तिसु पिछै विरागी ॥१॥
Jo parabẖ kī har kathā sunāvai an▫ḏin fira▫o ṯis picẖẖai virāgī. ||1||
One who teaches me the Sermon of the Lord God - night and day, I shall follow Him. ||1||

ਪੂਰਬ ਕਰਮ ਅੰਕੁਰ ਜਬ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਰਸਿਕ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥
पूरब करम अंकुर जब प्रगटे भेटिओ पुरखु रसिक बैरागी ॥
Pūrab karam ankur jab pargate bẖeti▫o purakẖ rasik bairāgī.
When the seed of the karma of past actions sprouted, I met the Lord; He is both the Enjoyer and the Renunciate.

ਮਿਟਿਓ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਮਿਲਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੧੯॥
मिटिओ अंधेरु मिलत हरि नानक जनम जनम की सोई जागी ॥२॥२॥११९॥
Miti▫o anḏẖer milaṯ har Nānak janam janam kī so▫ī jāgī. ||2||2||119||
My darkness was dispelled when I met the Lord. O Nanak, after being asleep for countless incarnations, I have awakened. ||2||2||119||

ਨਿਕਸੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਖੀ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਂਖ ॥
निकसु रे पंखी सिमरि हरि पांख ॥
Nikas re pankẖī simar har pāʼnkẖ.
Come out, O soul-bird, and let the meditative remembrance of the Lord be your wings.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਹੀਅਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मिलि साधू सरणि गहु पूरन राम रतनु हीअरे संगि राखु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mil sāḏẖū saraṇ gahu pūran rām raṯan hī▫are sang rākẖ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meet the Holy Saint, take to His Sanctuary, and keep the perfect jewel of the Lord enshrined in your heart. ||1||Pause||

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਕੂਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਰਸ ਪੰਕਜ ਅਤਿ ਤੀਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਣ ਮੋਹ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥
भ्रम की कूई त्रिसना रस पंकज अति तीख्यण मोह की फास ॥
Bẖaram kī kū▫ī ṯarisnā ras pankaj aṯ ṯīkẖ▫yaṇ moh kī fās.
Superstition is the well, thirst for pleasure is the mud, and emotional attachment is the noose, so tight around your neck.

ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰ ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੧॥
काटनहार जगत गुर गोबिद चरन कमल ता के करहु निवास ॥१॥
Kātanhār jagaṯ gur gobiḏ cẖaran kamal ṯā ke karahu nivās. ||1||
The only one who can cut this is the Guru of the World, the Lord of the Universe. So let yourself dwell at His Lotus Feet. ||1||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
करि किरपा गोबिंद प्रभ प्रीतम दीना नाथ सुनहु अरदासि ॥
Kar kirpā gobinḏ parabẖ parīṯam ḏīnā nāth sunhu arḏās.
Bestow Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe, O God, My Beloved, Master of the meek - please, listen to my prayer.

ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੨੦॥
करु गहि लेहु नानक के सुआमी जीउ पिंडु सभु तुमरी रासि ॥२॥३॥१२०॥
Kar gėh leho Nānak ke su▫āmī jī▫o pind sabẖ ṯumrī rās. ||2||3||120||
Take my hand, O Lord and Master of Nanak; my body and soul all belong to You. ||2||3||120||

ਹਰਿ ਪੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
हरि पेखन कउ सिमरत मनु मेरा ॥
Har pekẖan ka▫o simraṯ man merā.
My mind yearns to behold the Lord in meditation.

ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨੀ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਨੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आस पिआसी चितवउ दिनु रैनी है कोई संतु मिलावै नेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ās pi▫āsī cẖiṯva▫o ḏin rainī hai ko▫ī sanṯ milāvai nerā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I think of Him, I hope and thirst for Him, day and night; is there any Saint who may bring Him near me? ||1||Pause||

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਉ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਉ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ॥
सेवा करउ दास दासन की अनिक भांति तिसु करउ निहोरा ॥
Sevā kara▫o ḏās ḏāsan kī anik bẖāʼnṯ ṯis kara▫o nihorā.
I serve the slaves of His slaves; in so many ways, I beg of Him.

ਤੁਲਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਤੋਲੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸ ਸਭੋ ਹੀ ਥੋਰਾ ॥੧॥
तुला धारि तोले सुख सगले बिनु हरि दरस सभो ही थोरा ॥१॥
Ŧulā ḏẖār ṯole sukẖ sagle bin har ḏaras sabẖo hī thorā. ||1||
Setting them upon the scale, I have weighed all comforts and pleasures; without the Lord's Blessed Vision, they are all totally inadequate. ||1||
|
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੋ ਜਾਤ ਬਹੋਰਾ ॥
संत प्रसादि गाए गुन सागर जनम जनम को जात बहोरा ॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ gā▫e gun sāgar janam janam ko jāṯ bahorā.
By the Grace of the Saints, I sing the Praises of the Ocean of virtue; after countless incarnations, I have been released.

ਆਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਰਥੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਸਵੇਰਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੨੧॥
आनद सूख भेटत हरि नानक जनमु क्रितारथु सफलु सवेरा ॥२॥४॥१२१॥
Ānaḏ sūkẖ bẖetaṯ har Nānak janam kirṯārath safal saverā. ||2||4||121||
Meeting the Lord, Nanak has found peace and bliss; his life is redeemed, and prosperity dawns for him. ||2||4||121||

किन बिधि मिलै गुसाई मेरे राम राइ ॥
Kin biḏẖ milai gusā▫ī mere rām rā▫e.
How may I meet my Master, the King, the Lord of the Universe?

ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦੇਇ ਬਤਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कोई ऐसा संतु सहज सुखदाता मोहि मारगु देइ बताई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ko▫ī aisā sanṯ sahj sukẖ▫ḏāṯa mohi mārag ḏe▫e baṯā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Is there any Saint, who can bestow such celestial peace, and show me the Way to Him? ||1||Pause||
