ਸਗਲ ਦੂਖ ਕਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੨॥
Sagal ḏūkẖ kā ho▫i▫ā nās. ||2||
all suffering comes to an end. ||2||

ਆਸਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਧਨੁ ਏਕ ॥
Āsā māṇ ṯāṇ ḏẖan ek.
The One Lord is my hope, honor, power and wealth.
|
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਟੇਕ ॥੩॥
Sācẖe sāh kī man mėh tek. ||3||
Within my mind is the Support of the True Banker. ||3||
|
ਮਹਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਜਨ ਸਾਧ ਅਨਾਥ ॥
Mahā garīb jan sāḏẖ anāth.
I am the poorest and most helpless servant of the Holy.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੪॥੮੫॥੧੫੪॥
Nānak parabẖ rākẖe ḏe hāth. ||4||85||154||
O Nanak, giving me His Hand, God has protected me. ||4||85||154||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਚੇ ॥
Har har nām majan kar sūcẖe.
Taking my cleansing bath in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have been purified.
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਪੁੰਨ ਫਲ ਮੂਚੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kot garahaṇ punn fal mūcẖe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Its reward surpasses the giving of charity at millions of solar eclipses. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਬਸੇ ॥
Har ke cẖaraṇ riḏe mėh base.
With the Lord's Feet abiding in the heart,
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਸੇ ॥੧॥
Janam janam ke kilvikẖ nase. ||1||
the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations are removed. ||1||
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Sāḏẖsang kīrṯan fal pā▫i▫ā.
I have obtained the reward of the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
Jam kā mārag ḏarisat na ā▫i▫ā. ||2||
I no longer have to gaze upon the way of death. ||2||
|
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
Man bacẖ karam govinḏ aḏẖār.
In thought, word and deed, seek the Support of the Lord of the Universe;
|
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਿਓ ਬਿਖੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
Ŧā ṯe cẖẖuti▫o bikẖ sansār. ||3||
thus you shall be saved from the poisonous world-ocean. ||3||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
Kar kirpā parabẖ kīno apnā.
Granting His Grace, God has made me His Own.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੪॥੮੬॥੧੫੫॥
Nānak jāp jape har japnā. ||4||86||155||
Nanak chants and meditates on the Chant of the Lord's Name. ||4||86||155||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ॥
Pa▫o sarṇā▫ī jin har jāṯe.
Seek the Sanctuary of those who have come to know the Lord.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਚਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
Man ṯan sīṯal cẖaraṇ har rāṯe. ||1||
Your mind and body shall become cool and peaceful, imbued with the Feet of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਬਸਾਹੀ ॥
Bẖai bẖanjan parabẖ man na basāhī.
If God, the Destroyer of fear, does not dwell within your mind,
|
ਡਰਪਤ ਡਰਪਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Darpaṯ darpaṯ janam bahuṯ jāhī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
you shall spend countless incarnations in fear and dread. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥
Jā kai riḏai basi▫o har nām.
Those who have the Lord's Name dwelling within their hearts
|
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥
Sagal manorath ṯā ke pūran kām. ||2||
have all their desires and tasks fulfilled. ||2||
|
ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਾਸਿ ॥
Janam jarā miraṯ jis vās.
Birth, old age and death are in His Power,
|
ਸੋ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
So samrath simar sās girās. ||3||
so remember that All-powerful Lord with each breath and morsel of food. ||3||
|
ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕ ॥
Mīṯ sājan sakẖā parabẖ ek.
The One God is my Intimate, Best Friend and Companion.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੮੭॥੧੫੬॥
Nām su▫āmī kā Nānak tek. ||4||87||156||
The Naam, the Name of my Lord and Master, is Nanak's only Support. ||4||87||156||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
Bāhar rākẖi▫o riḏai samāl.
When they are out and about, they keep Him enshrined in their hearts;
|
ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਲੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
Gẖar ā▫e govinḏ lai nāl. ||1||
returning home, the Lord of the Universe is still with them. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
Har har nām sanṯan kai sang.
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Companion of His Saints.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Man ṯan rāṯā rām kai rang. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Their minds and bodies are imbued with the Love of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
Gur parsādī sāgar ṯari▫ā.
By Guru's Grace, one crosses over the world-ocean;
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
Janam janam ke kilvikẖ sabẖ hiri▫ā. ||2||
the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations are all washed away. ||2||
|
ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
Sobẖā suraṯ nām bẖagvanṯ.
Honor and intuitive awareness are acquired through the Name of the Lord God.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤੁ ॥੩॥
Pūre gur kā nirmal manṯ. ||3||
The Teachings of the Perfect Guru are immaculate and pure. ||3||
|
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
Cẖaraṇ kamal hirḏe mėh jāp.
Within your heart, meditate on the His Lotus Feet.
|
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੪॥੮੮॥੧੫੭॥
Nānak pekẖ jīvai parṯāp. ||4||88||157||
Nanak lives by beholding the Lord's Expansive Power. ||4||88||157||

ਧੰਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
Ḏẖan ih thān govinḏ guṇ gā▫e.
Blessed is this place, where the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe are sung.
|
ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਬਸਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kusal kẖem parabẖ āp basā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
God Himself bestows peace and pleasure. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਿਪਤਿ ਤਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Bipaṯ ṯahā jahā har simran nāhī.
Misfortune occurs where the Lord is not remembered in meditation.
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਜਹ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
Kot anand jah har gun gāhī. ||1||
There are millions of joys where the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥
Har bisri▫ai ḏukẖ rog gẖanere.
Forgetting the Lord, all sorts of pains and diseases come.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੨॥
Parabẖ sevā jam lagai na nere. ||2||
Serving God, the Messenger of Death will not even approach you. ||2||
|
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
So vadbẖāgī nihcẖal thān.
Very blessed, stable and sublime is that place,
|
ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥
Jah japī▫ai parabẖ keval nām. ||3||
where the Name of God alone is chanted. ||3||
|
ਜਹ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Jah jā▫ī▫ai ṯah nāl merā su▫āmī.
Wherever I go, my Lord and Master is with me.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੮੯॥੧੫੮॥
Nānak ka▫o mili▫ā anṯarjāmī. ||4||89||158||
Nanak has met the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||89||158||

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
Jo parāṇī govinḏ ḏẖi▫āvai.
That mortal who meditates on the Lord of the Universe,
|
ਪੜਿਆ ਅਣਪੜਿਆ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
Paṛi▫ā aṇpaṛi▫ā param gaṯ pāvai. ||1||
whether educated or uneducated, obtains the state of supreme dignity. ||1||
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
Sāḏẖū sang simar gopāl.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of the World.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਝੂਠਾ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Bin nāvai jẖūṯẖā ḏẖan māl. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Without the Name, wealth and property are false. ||1||Pause||
