संत प्रसादि जनम मरण ते छोट ॥१॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ janam maraṇ ṯe cẖẖot. ||1||
By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from birth and death. ||1||
|
|
संत का दरसु पूरन इसनानु ॥
Sanṯ kā ḏaras pūran isnān.
The Blessed Vision of the Saints is the perfect cleansing bath.
|
|
संत क्रिपा ते जपीऐ नामु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṯ kirpā ṯe japī▫ai nām. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By the Grace of the Saints, one comes to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
|
संत कै संगि मिटिआ अहंकारु ॥
Sanṯ kai sang miti▫ā ahaʼnkār.
In the Society of the Saints, egotism is shed,
|
|
द्रिसटि आवै सभु एकंकारु ॥२॥
Ḏarisat āvai sabẖ ekankār. ||2||
and the One Lord is seen everywhere. ||2||
|
|
संत सुप्रसंन आए वसि पंचा ॥
Sanṯ suparsan ā▫e vas pancẖā.
By the pleasure of the Saints, the five passions are overpowered,
|
|
अम्रितु नामु रिदै लै संचा ॥३॥
Amriṯ nām riḏai lai sancẖā. ||3||
and the heart is irrigated with the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||
|
|
कहु नानक जा का पूरा करम ॥
Kaho Nānak jā kā pūrā karam.
Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect,
|
|
तिसु भेटे साधू के चरन ॥४॥४६॥११५॥
Ŧis bẖete sāḏẖū ke cẖaran. ||4||46||115||
touches the feet of the Holy. ||4||46||115||

गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
|
हरि गुण जपत कमलु परगासै ॥
Har guṇ japaṯ kamal pargāsai.
Meditating on the Glories of the Lord, the heart-lotus blossoms radiantly.
|
|
हरि सिमरत त्रास सभ नासै ॥१॥
Har simraṯ ṯarās sabẖ nāsai. ||1||
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all fears are dispelled. ||1||
|
|
सा मति पूरी जितु हरि गुण गावै ॥
Sā maṯ pūrī jiṯ har guṇ gāvai.
Perfect is that intellect, by which the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.
|
|
वडै भागि साधू संगु पावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
vadai bẖāg sāḏẖū sang pāvai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By great good fortune, one finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||
|
|
साधसंगि पाईऐ निधि नामा ॥
Sāḏẖsang pā▫ī▫ai niḏẖ nāmā.
In the Saadh Sangat, the treasure of the Name is obtained.
|
|
साधसंगि पूरन सभि कामा ॥२॥
Sāḏẖsang pūran sabẖ kāmā. ||2||
In the Saadh Sangat, all one's works are brought to fruition. ||2||
|
|
हरि की भगति जनमु परवाणु ॥
Har kī bẖagaṯ janam parvāṇ.
Through devotion to the Lord, one's life is approved.
|
|
गुर किरपा ते नामु वखाणु ॥३॥
Gur kirpā ṯe nām vakẖāṇ. ||3||
By Guru's Grace, one chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||
|
|
कहु नानक सो जनु परवानु ॥
Kaho Nānak so jan parvān.
Says Nanak, that humble being is accepted,
|
|
जा कै रिदै वसै भगवानु ॥४॥४७॥११६॥
Jā kai riḏai vasai bẖagvān. ||4||47||116||
within whose heart the Lord God abides. ||4||47||116||

गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
|
एकसु सिउ जा का मनु राता ॥
Ėkas si▫o jā kā man rāṯā.
Those whose minds are imbued with the One Lord,
|
|
विसरी तिसै पराई ताता ॥१॥
visrī ṯisai parā▫ī ṯāṯā. ||1||
forget to feel jealous of others. ||1||
|
|
बिनु गोबिंद न दीसै कोई ॥
Bin gobinḏ na ḏīsai ko▫ī.
They see none other than the Lord of the Universe.
|
|
करन करावन करता सोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Karan karāvan karṯā so▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Creator is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause||
|
|
मनहि कमावै मुखि हरि हरि बोलै ॥
Manėh kamāvai mukẖ har har bolai.
Those who work willingly, and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har -
|
|
सो जनु इत उत कतहि न डोलै ॥२॥
So jan iṯ uṯ kaṯėh na dolai. ||2||
they do not waver, here or hereafter. ||2||
|
|
जा कै हरि धनु सो सच साहु ॥
Jā kai har ḏẖan so sacẖ sāhu.
Those who possess the wealth of the Lord are the true bankers.
|
|
गुरि पूरै करि दीनो विसाहु ॥३॥
Gur pūrai kar ḏīno visāhu. ||3||
The Perfect Guru has established their line of credit. ||3||
|
|
जीवन पुरखु मिलिआ हरि राइआ ॥
Jīvan purakẖ mili▫ā har rā▫i▫ā.
The Giver of life, the Sovereign Lord King meets them.
|
|
कहु नानक परम पदु पाइआ ॥४॥४८॥११७॥
Kaho Nānak param paḏ pā▫i▫ā. ||4||48||117||
Says Nanak, they attain the supreme status. ||4||48||117||

गउड़ी महला ५ ॥
Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
|
नामु भगत कै प्रान अधारु ॥
Nām bẖagaṯ kai parān aḏẖār.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of the breath of life of His devotees.
|
|
नामो धनु नामो बिउहारु ॥१॥
Nāmo ḏẖan nāmo bi▫uhār. ||1||
The Naam is their wealth, the Naam is their occupation. ||1||
|
|
नाम वडाई जनु सोभा पाए ॥
Nām vadā▫ī jan sobẖā pā▫e.
By the greatness of the Naam, His humble servants are blessed with glory.
|
|
करि किरपा जिसु आपि दिवाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kar kirpā jis āp ḏivā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Lord Himself bestows it, in His Mercy. ||1||Pause||
|
|
नामु भगत कै सुख असथानु ॥
Nām bẖagaṯ kai sukẖ asthān.
The Naam is the home of peace of His devotees.
|
|
नाम रतु सो भगतु परवानु ॥२॥
Nām raṯ so bẖagaṯ parvān. ||2||
Attuned to the Naam, His devotees are approved. ||2||
|
|
हरि का नामु जन कउ धारै ॥
Har kā nām jan ka▫o ḏẖārai.
The Name of the Lord is the support of His humble servants.
|
|
सासि सासि जनु नामु समारै ॥३॥
Sās sās jan nām samārai. ||3||
With each and every breath, they remember the Naam. ||3||
|
|
कहु नानक जिसु पूरा भागु ॥
Kaho Nānak jis pūrā bẖāg.
Says Nanak, those who have perfect destiny -
|
|
नाम संगि ता का मनु लागु ॥४॥४९॥११८॥
Nām sang ṯā kā man lāg. ||4||49||118||
their minds are attached to the Naam. ||4||49||118||

Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
|
संत प्रसादि हरि नामु धिआइआ ॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
By the Grace of the Saints, I meditated on the Name of the Lord.
|
|
तब ते धावतु मनु त्रिपताइआ ॥१॥
Ŧab ṯe ḏẖāvaṯ man ṯaripṯā▫i▫ā. ||1||
Since then, my restless mind has been satisfied. ||1||
|
|
सुख बिस्रामु पाइआ गुण गाइ ॥
Sukẖ bisrām pā▫i▫ā guṇ gā▫e.
I have obtained the home of peace, singing His Glorious Praises.
|
|
स्रमु मिटिआ मेरी हती बलाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saram miti▫ā merī haṯī balā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
My troubles have ended, and the demon has been destroyed. ||1||Pause||
|
|
चरन कमल अराधि भगवंता ॥
Cẖaran kamal arāḏẖ bẖagvanṯā.
Worship and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord God.
|
|
हरि सिमरन ते मिटी मेरी चिंता ॥२॥
Har simran ṯe mitī merī cẖinṯā. ||2||
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, my anxiety has come to an end. ||2||
|
|
सभ तजि अनाथु एक सरणि आइओ ॥
Sabẖ ṯaj anāth ek saraṇ ā▫i▫o.
I have renounced all - I am an orphan. I have come to the Sanctuary of the One Lord.
|
|
ऊच असथानु तब सहजे पाइओ ॥३॥
Ūcẖ asthān ṯab sėhje pā▫i▫o. ||3||
Since then, I have found the highest celestial home. ||3||
|
|
दूखु दरदु भरमु भउ नसिआ ॥
Ḏūkẖ ḏaraḏ bẖaram bẖa▫o nasi▫ā.
My pains, troubles, doubts and fears are gone.
|
|
करणहारु नानक मनि बसिआ ॥४॥५०॥११९॥
Karanhār Nānak man basi▫ā. ||4||50||119||
The Creator Lord abides in Nanak's mind. ||4||50||119||

|
कर करि टहल रसना गुण गावउ ॥
Kar kar tahal rasnā guṇ gāva▫o.
With my hands I do His work; with my tongue I sing His Glorious Praises.
