ਪੀਊ ਦਾਦੇ ਕਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ॥
Pī▫ū ḏāḏe kā kẖol diṯẖā kẖajānā.
When I opened it up and gazed upon the treasures of my father and grandfather,
|
ਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
Ŧā merai man bẖa▫i▫ā niḏẖānā. ||1||
then my mind became very happy. ||1||
|
ਰਤਨ ਲਾਲ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਮੋਲੁ ॥
Raṯan lāl jā kā kacẖẖū na mol.
Overflowing with priceless jewels and rubies,
|
ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਅਖੂਟ ਅਤੋਲ ॥੨॥
Bẖare bẖandār akẖūt aṯol. ||2||
the storehouse is inexhaustible and immeasurable. ||2||
|
ਖਾਵਹਿ ਖਰਚਹਿ ਰਲਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਾਈ ॥
Kẖāvėh kẖarcẖėh ral mil bẖā▫ī.
The Siblings of Destiny meet together, and eat and spend,
|
ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਵਧਦੋ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
Ŧot na āvai vaḏẖ▫ḏo jā▫ī. ||3||
but these resources do not diminish; they continue to increase. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇ ॥
Kaho Nānak jis masṯak lekẖ likẖā▫e.
Says Nanak, one who has such destiny written on his forehead,
|
ਸੁ ਏਤੁ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਲਇਆ ਰਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੩੧॥੧੦੦॥
So eṯ kẖajānai la▫i▫ā ralā▫e. ||4||31||100||
becomes a partner in these treasures. ||4||31||100||

Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਡਰਿ ਡਰਿ ਮਰਤੇ ਜਬ ਜਾਨੀਐ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
Dar dar marṯe jab jānī▫ai ḏūr.
I was scared, scared to death, when I thought that He was far away.
|
ਡਰੁ ਚੂਕਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
Dar cẖūkā ḏekẖi▫ā bẖarpūr. ||1||
But my fear was removed, when I saw that He is pervading everywhere. ||1||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
Saṯgur apune ka▫o balihārai.
I am a sacrifice to my True Guru.
|
ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਰਪਰ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Cẖẖod na jā▫ī sarpar ṯārai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He shall not abandon me; He shall surely carry me across. ||1||Pause||
|
ਦੂਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਜਬ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
Ḏūkẖ rog sog bisrai jab nām.
Pain, disease and sorrow come when one forgets the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
|
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮੁ ॥੨॥
Saḏā anand jā har guṇ gām. ||2||
Eternal bliss comes when one sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਕਹੀਜੈ ॥
Burā bẖalā ko▫ī na kahījai.
Do not say that anyone is good or bad.
|
ਛੋਡਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੀਜੈ ॥੩॥
Cẖẖod mān har cẖaran gahījai. ||3||
Renounce your arrogant pride, and grasp the Feet of the Lord. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ॥
Kaho Nānak gur manṯar cẖiṯār.
Says Nanak, remember the GurMantra;
|
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੧੦੧॥
Sukẖ pāvahi sācẖai ḏarbār. ||4||32||101||
you shall find peace at the True Court. ||4||32||101||

Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5.
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਹੈ ਸਮੀਆ ॥
Jā kā mīṯ sājan hai samī▫ā.
Those who have the Lord as their Friend and Companion -
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕਹੁ ਕਾ ਕੀ ਕਮੀਆ ॥੧॥
Ŧis jan ka▫o kaho kā kī kamī▫ā. ||1||
tell me, what else do they need? ||1||
|
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
Jā kī parīṯ gobinḏ si▫o lāgī.
Those who are in love with the Lord of the Universe -
|
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ḏūkẖ ḏaraḏ bẖaram ṯā kā bẖāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
pain, suffering and doubt run away from them. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹੈ ਆਇਓ ॥
Jā ka▫o ras har ras hai ā▫i▫o.
Those who have enjoyed the flavor of the Lord's sublime essence
|
ਸੋ ਅਨ ਰਸ ਨਾਹੀ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
So an ras nāhī laptā▫i▫o. ||2||
are not attracted to any other pleasures. ||2||
|
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਚਲੈ ॥
Jā kā kahi▫ā ḏargėh cẖalai.
Those whose speech is accepted in the Court of the Lord -
|
ਸੋ ਕਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਲੈ ਆਵੈ ਤਲੈ ॥੩॥
So kis ka▫o naḏar lai āvai ṯalai. ||3||
what do they care about anything else? ||3||
|
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jā kā sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯā kā ho▫e.
Those who belong to the One, unto whom all things belong -
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੧੦੨॥
Nānak ṯā ka▫o saḏā sukẖ ho▫e. ||4||33||102||
O Nanak, they find a lasting peace. ||4||33||102||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥
Jā kai ḏukẖ sukẖ sam kar jāpai.
Those who look alike upon pleasure and pain -
|
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਾੜਾ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥੧॥
Ŧā ka▫o kāṛā kahā bi▫āpai. ||1||
how can anxiety touch them? ||1||
|
ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Sahj anand har sāḏẖū māhi.
The Lord's Holy Saints abide in celestial bliss.
|
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Āgi▫ākārī har har rā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
They remain obedient to the Lord, the Sovereign Lord King. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
Jā kai acẖinṯ vasai man ā▫e.
Those who have the Carefree Lord abiding in their minds -
|
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
Ŧā ka▫o cẖinṯā kaṯahūʼn nāhi. ||2||
no cares will ever bother them. ||2||
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
Jā kai binsi▫o man ṯe bẖarmā.
Those who have banished doubt from their minds
|
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕਛੂ ਨਾਹੀ ਡਰੁ ਜਮਾ ॥੩॥
Ŧā kai kacẖẖū nāhī dar jamā. ||3||
are not afraid of death at all. ||3||
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
Jā kai hirḏai ḏī▫o gur nāmā.
Those whose hearts are filled with the Lord's Name by the Guru, -
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੧੦੩॥
Kaho Nānak ṯā kai sagal niḏẖānā. ||4||34||103||
says Nanak, all treasures come to them. ||4||34||103||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਗਮ ਰੂਪ ਕਾ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਨਾ ॥
Agam rūp kā man mėh thānā.
The Lord of Unfathomable Form has His Place in the mind.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
Gur parsāḏ kinai virlai jānā. ||1||
By Guru's Grace, a rare few come to understand this. ||1||
|
ਸਹਜ ਕਥਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੁੰਟਾ ॥
Sahj kathā ke amriṯ kuntā.
The Ambrosial Pools of the celestial sermon -
|
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਲੈ ਭੁੰਚਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jisahi parāpaṯ ṯis lai bẖuncẖā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
those who find them, drink them in. ||1||Pause||
|
ਅਨਹਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਥਾਨੁ ਨਿਰਾਲਾ ॥
Anhaṯ baṇī thān nirālā.
The unstruck melody of the Guru's Bani vibrates in that most special place.
|
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਮੋਹੇ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
Ŧā kī ḏẖun mohe gopālā. ||2||
The Lord of the World is fascinated with this melody. ||2||
|
ਤਹ ਸਹਜ ਅਖਾਰੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥
Ŧah sahj akẖāre anek ananṯā.
The numerous, countless places of celestial peace -
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ ਸੰਗੀ ਸੰਤਾ ॥੩॥
Pārbarahm ke sangī sanṯā. ||3||
there, the Saints dwell, in the Company of the Supreme Lord God. ||3||
|
ਹਰਖ ਅਨੰਤ ਸੋਗ ਨਹੀ ਬੀਆ ॥
Harakẖ ananṯ sog nahī bī▫ā.
There is infinite joy, and no sorrow or duality.
|
ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੧੦੪॥
So gẖar gur Nānak ka▫o ḏī▫ā. ||4||35||104||
The Guru has blessed Nanak with this home. ||4||35||104||

ਕਵਨ ਜੋਗ ਕਾਇਆ ਲੇ ਸਾਧਉ ॥੧॥
Kavan jog kā▫i▫ā le sāḏẖa▫o. ||1||
What Yoga should I practice to control my body? ||1||
