ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲੀ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥
Ukaṯ si▫āṇap saglī ṯi▫āg.
Give up all your clever tricks and devices,
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
Sanṯ janā kī cẖarṇī lāg. ||2||
and hold tight to the Feet of the Saints. ||2||
|
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਅ ਹਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
Sarab jī▫a hėh jā kai hāth.
The One, who holds all creatures in His Hands,
|
ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
Kaḏe na vicẖẖuṛai sabẖ kai sāth.
is never separated from them; He is with them all.
|
ਉਪਾਵ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ॥
Upāv cẖẖod gahu ṯis kī ot.
Abandon your clever devices, and grasp hold of His Support.
|
ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥੩॥
Nimakẖ māhi hovai ṯerī cẖẖot. ||3||
In an instant, you shall be saved. ||3||
|
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
Saḏā nikat kar ṯis no jāṇ.
Know that He is always near at hand.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Parabẖ kī āgi▫ā saṯ kar mān.
Accept the Order of God as True.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਆਪੁ ॥
Gur kai bacẖan mitāvhu āp.
Through the Guru's Teachings, eradicate selfishness and conceit.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੭੩॥
Har har nām Nānak jap jāp. ||4||4||73||
O Nanak, chant and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||4||73||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 5.

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan saḏā abẖināsī.
The Guru's Word is eternal and everlasting.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੀ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ॥
Gur kai bacẖan katī jam fāsī.
The Guru's Word cuts away the noose of Death.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan jī▫a kai sang.
The Guru's Word is always with the soul.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਚੈ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥
Gur kai bacẖan racẖai rām kai rang. ||1||
Through the Guru's Word, one is immersed in the Love of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥
Jo gur ḏī▫ā so man kai kām.
Whatever the Guru gives, is useful to the mind.
|
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sanṯ kā kī▫ā saṯ kar mān. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Whatever the Saint does - accept that as True. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਟਲ ਅਛੇਦ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan atal acẖẖeḏ.
The Guru's Word is infallible and unchanging.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੇਦ ॥
Gur kai bacẖan kate bẖaram bẖeḏ.
Through the Guru's Word, doubt and prejudice are dispelled.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan kaṯahu na jā▫e.
The Guru's Word never goes away;
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੨॥
Gur kai bacẖan har ke guṇ gā▫e. ||2||
through the Guru's Word, we sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan jī▫a kai sāth.
The Guru's Word accompanies the soul.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan anāth ko nāth.
The Guru's Word is the Master of the masterless.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ॥
Gur kai bacẖan narak na pavai.
The Guru's Word saves one from falling into hell.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਵੈ ॥੩॥
Gur kai bacẖan rasnā amriṯ ravai. ||3||
Through the Guru's Word, the tongue savors the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
Gur kā bacẖan pargat sansār.
The Guru's Word is revealed in the world.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
Gur kai bacẖan na āvai hār.
Through the Guru's Word, no one suffers defeat.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
Jis jan ho▫e āp kirpāl.
Unto whom the Lord Himself has blessed with His Mercy,
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੪॥੫॥੭੪॥
Nānak saṯgur saḏā ḏa▫i▫āl. ||4||5||74||
O Nanak, to those the True Guru is always kind and compassionate. ||4||5||74||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 5.

ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮਾਟੀ ਤੇ ਰਤਨੁ ॥
Jin kīṯā mātī ṯe raṯan.
He makes jewels out of the dust,
|
ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਤਨੁ ॥
Garabẖ mėh rākẖi▫ā jin kar jaṯan.
and He managed to preserve you in the womb.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Jin ḏīnī sobẖā vadi▫ā▫ī.
He has given you fame and greatness;
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥
Ŧis parabẖ ka▫o āṯẖ pahar ḏẖi▫ā▫ī. ||1||
meditate on that God, twenty-four hours a day. ||1||
|
ਰਮਈਆ ਰੇਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
Rama▫ī▫ā ren sāḏẖ jan pāva▫o.
O Lord, I seek the dust of the feet of the Holy.
|
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur mil apunā kẖasam ḏẖi▫āva▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meeting the Guru, I meditate on my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੂੜ ਤੇ ਬਕਤਾ ॥
Jin kīṯā mūṛ ṯe bakṯā.
He transformed me, the fool, into a fine speaker,
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਬੇਸੁਰਤ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤਾ ॥
Jin kīṯā besuraṯ ṯe surṯā.
and He made the unconscious become conscious;
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
Jis parsāḏ navai niḏẖ pā▫ī.
by His Grace, I have obtained the nine treasures.
|
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
So parabẖ man ṯe bisraṯ nāhī. ||2||
May I never forget that God from my mind. ||2||
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
Jin ḏī▫ā nithāve ka▫o thān.
He has given a home to the homeless;
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Jin ḏī▫ā nimāne ka▫o mān.
He has given honor to the dishonored.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
Jin kīnī sabẖ pūran āsā.
He has fulfilled all desires;
|
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
Simra▫o ḏin rain sās girāsā. ||3||
remember Him in meditation, day and night, with every breath and every morsel of food. ||3||
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਿਲਕ ਕਾਟੀ ॥
Jis parsāḏ mā▫i▫ā silak kātī.
By His Grace, the bonds of Maya are cut away.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਟੀ ॥
Gur parsāḏ amriṯ bikẖ kẖātī.
By Guru's Grace, the bitter poison has become Ambrosial Nectar.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Kaho Nānak is ṯe kicẖẖ nāhī.
Says Nanak, I cannot do anything;
|
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਕਉ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੫॥
Rākẖanhāre ka▫o sālāhī. ||4||6||75||
I praise the Lord, the Protector. ||4||6||75||

Ŧis kī saraṇ nāhī bẖa▫o sog.
In His Sanctuary, there is no fear or sorrow.

ਉਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
Us ṯe bāhar kacẖẖū na hog.
Without Him, nothing at all can be done.
|
ਤਜੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
Ŧajī si▫āṇap bal buḏẖ bikār.
I have renounced clever tricks, power and intellectual corruption.
|
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥
Ḏās apne kī rākẖanhār. ||1||
God is the Protector of His servant. ||1||
|
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
Jap man mere rām rām rang.
Meditate, O my mind, on the Lord, Raam, Raam, with love.
|
ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gẖar bāhar ṯerai saḏ sang. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Within your home, and beyond it, He is always with you. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
Ŧis kī tek manai mėh rākẖ.
Keep His Support in your mind.
