ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਸਈਆ
मेरे राम मै मूरख हरि राखु मेरे गुसईआ ॥
Mere rām mai mūrakẖ har rākẖ mere gus▫ī▫ā.
O my Lord, I am so foolish; save me, O my Lord God!

ਜਨ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਵਡਈਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जन की उपमा तुझहि वडईआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jan kī upmā ṯujẖėh vad▫ī▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Your servant's praise is Your Own Glorious Greatness. ||1||Pause||

ਮੰਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ
मंदरि घरि आनंदु हरि हरि जसु मनि भावै ॥
Manḏar gẖar ānanḏ har har jas man bẖāvai.
Those whose minds are pleased by the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, are joyful in the palaces of their own homes.

ਸਭ ਰਸ ਮੀਠੇ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ
सभ रस मीठे मुखि लगहि जा हरि गुण गावै ॥
Sabẖ ras mīṯẖe mukẖ lagėh jā har guṇ gāvai.
Their mouths savor all the sweet delicacies when they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ਸਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਇਕੀਹ ਕੁਲੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
हरि जनु परवारु सधारु है इकीह कुली सभु जगतु छडावै ॥२॥
Har jan parvār saḏẖār hai ikīh kulī sabẖ jagaṯ cẖẖadāvai. ||2||
The Lord's humble servants are the saviors of their families; they save their families for twenty-one generations - they save the entire world! ||2||

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ
जो किछु कीआ सो हरि कीआ हरि की वडिआई ॥
Jo kicẖẖ kī▫ā so har kī▫ā har kī vadi▫ā▫ī.
Whatever has been done, has been done by the Lord; it is the Glorious Greatness of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂੰ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਜ ਕਰਾਈ
हरि जीअ तेरे तूं वरतदा हरि पूज कराई ॥
Har jī▫a ṯere ṯūʼn varaṯḏā har pūj karā▫ī.
O Lord, in Your creatures, You are pervading; You inspire them to worship You.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਲਹਾਇਦਾ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤਾਈ ॥੩॥
हरि भगति भंडार लहाइदा आपे वरताई ॥३॥
Har bẖagaṯ bẖandār lahā▫iḏā āpe varṯā▫ī. ||3||
The Lord leads us to the treasure of devotional worship; He Himself bestows it. ||3||

ਲਾਲਾ ਹਾਟਿ ਵਿਹਾਝਿਆ ਕਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ
लाला हाटि विहाझिआ किआ तिसु चतुराई ॥
Lālā hāt vihājẖi▫ā ki▫ā ṯis cẖaṯurā▫ī.
I am a slave, purchased in Your market; what clever tricks do I have?

ਜੇ ਰਾਜਿ ਬਹਾਲੇ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਲਾਮੁ ਘਾਸੀ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਢਾਈ
जे राजि बहाले ता हरि गुलामु घासी कउ हरि नामु कढाई ॥
Je rāj bahāle ṯā har gulām gẖāsī ka▫o har nām kadẖā▫ī.
If the Lord were to set me upon a throne, I would still be His slave. If I were a grass-cutter, I would still chant the Lord's Name.

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੮॥੪੬॥
जनु नानकु हरि का दासु है हरि की वडिआई ॥४॥२॥८॥४६॥
Jan Nānak har kā ḏās hai har kī vadi▫ā▫ī. ||4||2||8||46||
Servant Nanak is the slave of the Lord; contemplate the Glorious Greatness of the Lord||4||2||8||46||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ४ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 4.
Gauree Bairaagan, Fourth Mehl:

ਕਿਰਸਾਣੀ ਕਿਰਸਾਣੁ ਕਰੇ ਲੋਚੈ ਜੀਉ ਲਾਇ
किरसाणी किरसाणु करे लोचै जीउ लाइ ॥
Kirsāṇī kirsāṇ kare locẖai jī▫o lā▫e.
The farmers love to work their farms;

ਹਲੁ ਜੋਤੈ ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁਤੁ ਧੀ ਖਾਇ
हलु जोतै उदमु करे मेरा पुतु धी खाइ ॥
Hal joṯai uḏam kare merā puṯ ḏẖī kẖā▫e.
they plow and work the fields, so that their sons and daughters may eat.

ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੧॥
तिउ हरि जनु हरि हरि जपु करे हरि अंति छडाइ ॥१॥
Ŧi▫o har jan har har jap kare har anṯ cẖẖadā▫e. ||1||
In just the same way, the Lord's humble servants chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and in the end, the Lord shall save them. ||1||

ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕੀਜੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ
मै मूरख की गति कीजै मेरे राम ॥
Mai mūrakẖ kī gaṯ kījai mere rām.
I am foolish - save me, O my Lord!

ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਇ ਹਮ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
गुर सतिगुर सेवा हरि लाइ हम काम ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur saṯgur sevā har lā▫e ham kām. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O Lord, enjoin me to work and serve the Guru, the True Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਲੈ ਤੁਰੇ ਸਉਦਾਗਰੀ ਸਉਦਾਗਰੁ ਧਾਵੈ
लै तुरे सउदागरी सउदागरु धावै ॥
Lai ṯure sa▫uḏāgrī sa▫uḏāgar ḏẖāvai.
The traders buy horses, planning to trade them.

ਧਨੁ ਖਟੈ ਆਸਾ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਧਾਵੈ
धनु खटै आसा करै माइआ मोहु वधावै ॥
Ḏẖan kẖatai āsā karai mā▫i▫ā moh vaḏẖāvai.
They hope to earn wealth; their attachment to Maya increases.

ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
तिउ हरि जनु हरि हरि बोलता हरि बोलि सुखु पावै ॥२॥
Ŧi▫o har jan har har bolṯā har bol sukẖ pāvai. ||2||
In just the same way, the Lord's humble servants chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; chanting the Lord's Name, they find peace. ||2||

ਬਿਖੁ ਸੰਚੈ ਹਟਵਾਣੀਆ ਬਹਿ ਹਾਟਿ ਕਮਾਇ
बिखु संचै हटवाणीआ बहि हाटि कमाइ ॥
Bikẖ sancẖai hatvāṇī▫ā bahi hāt kamā▫e.
The shop-keepers collect poison, sitting in their shops, carrying on their business.

ਮੋਹ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਝੂਠ ਕਾ ਝੂਠੇ ਲਪਟਾਇ
मोह झूठु पसारा झूठ का झूठे लपटाइ ॥
Moh jẖūṯẖ pasārā jẖūṯẖ kā jẖūṯẖe laptā▫e.
Their love is false, their displays are false, and they are engrossed in falsehood.

ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
तिउ हरि जनि हरि धनु संचिआ हरि खरचु लै जाइ ॥३॥
Ŧi▫o har jan har ḏẖan sancẖi▫ā har kẖaracẖ lai jā▫e. ||3||
In just the same way, the Lord's humble servants gather the wealth of the Lord's Name; they take the Lord's Name as their supplies. ||3||

ਇਹੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੂਜੈ ਫਾਸ
इहु माइआ मोह कुट्मबु है भाइ दूजै फास ॥
Ih mā▫i▫ā moh kutamb hai bẖā▫e ḏūjai fās.
This emotional attachment to Maya and family, and the love of duality, is a noose around the neck.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਤਰੈ ਜੋ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ
गुरमती सो जनु तरै जो दासनि दास ॥
Gurmaṯī so jan ṯarai jo ḏāsan ḏās.
Following the Guru's Teachings, the humble servants are carried across; they become the slaves of the Lord's slaves.

ਜਨਿ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥੪॥੩॥੯॥੪੭॥
जनि नानकि नामु धिआइआ गुरमुखि परगास ॥४॥३॥९॥४७॥
Jan Nānak nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā gurmukẖ pargās. ||4||3||9||47||
Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam; the Gurmukh is enlightened. ||4||3||9||47||

ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी बैरागणि महला ४ ॥
Ga▫oṛī bairāgaṇ mėhlā 4.
Gauree Bairaagan, Fourth Mehl:

ਨਿਤ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਲਾਲਚੁ ਕਰੇ ਭਰਮੈ ਭਰਮਾਇਆ
नित दिनसु राति लालचु करे भरमै भरमाइआ ॥
Niṯ ḏinas rāṯ lālacẖ kare bẖarmai bẖarmā▫i▫ā.
Continuously, day and night, they are gripped by greed and deluded by doubt.

ਵੇਗਾਰਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਵੇਗਾਰੀਆ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਠਾਇਆ
वेगारि फिरै वेगारीआ सिरि भारु उठाइआ ॥
vegār firai vegārī▫ā sir bẖār uṯẖā▫i▫ā.
The slaves labor in slavery, carrying the loads upon their heads.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਜਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਘਰ ਕੈ ਕੰਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
जो गुर की जनु सेवा करे सो घर कै कमि हरि लाइआ ॥१॥
Jo gur kī jan sevā kare so gẖar kai kamm har lā▫i▫ā. ||1||
That humble being who serves the Guru is put to work by the Lord in His Home. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਤੋੜਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਘਰ ਕੈ ਕੰਮਿ ਲਾਇ
मेरे राम तोड़ि बंधन माइआ घर कै कमि लाइ ॥
Mere rām ṯoṛ banḏẖan mā▫i▫ā gẖar kai kamm lā▫e.
O my Lord, please break these bonds of Maya, and put me to work in Your Home.

ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
नित हरि गुण गावह हरि नामि समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Niṯ har guṇ gāvah har nām samā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I continuously sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; I am absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਨਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਕਰੇ ਨਰਪਤਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਰਥਿ ਸਭ ਮਾਇਆ
नरु प्राणी चाकरी करे नरपति राजे अरथि सभ माइआ ॥
Nar parāṇī cẖākrī kare narpaṯ rāje arath sabẖ mā▫i▫ā.
Mortal men work for kings, all for the sake of wealth and Maya.

ਕੈ ਬੰਧੈ ਕੈ ਡਾਨਿ ਲੇਇ ਕੈ ਨਰਪਤਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇਆ
कै बंधै कै डानि लेइ कै नरपति मरि जाइआ ॥
Kai banḏẖai kai dān le▫e kai narpaṯ mar jā▫i▫ā.
But the king either imprisons them, or fines them, or else dies himself.

ਧੰਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
धंनु धनु सेवा सफल सतिगुरू की जितु हरि हरि नामु जपि हरि सुखु पाइआ ॥२॥
Ḏẖan ḏẖan sevā safal saṯgurū kī jiṯ har har nām jap har sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||2||
Blessed, rewarding and fruitful is the service of the True Guru; through it, I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and I have found peace. ||2||

ਨਿਤ ਸਉਦਾ ਸੂਦੁ ਕੀਚੈ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ
नित सउदा सूदु कीचै बहु भाति करि माइआ कै ताई ॥
Niṯ sa▫uḏā sūḏ kīcẖai baho bẖāṯ kar mā▫i▫ā kai ṯā▫ī.
Everyday, people carry on their business, with all sorts of devices to earn interest, for the sake of Maya.

ਜਾ ਲਾਹਾ ਦੇਇ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਨੇ ਤੋਟੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ
जा लाहा देइ ता सुखु मने तोटै मरि जाई ॥
Jā lāhā ḏe▫e ṯā sukẖ mane ṯotai mar jā▫ī.
If they earn a profit, they are pleased, but their hearts are broken by losses.

ਜੋ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਝੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
जो गुण साझी गुर सिउ करे नित नित सुखु पाई ॥३॥
Jo guṇ sājẖī gur si▫o kare niṯ niṯ sukẖ pā▫ī. ||3||
One who is worthy, becomes a partner with the Guru, and finds a lasting peace forever. ||3||
