ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੩੩॥
नानक नामि रते निहकेवल निरबाणी ॥४॥१३॥३३॥
Nānak nām raṯe nihkeval nirbāṇī. ||4||13||33||
O Nanak, attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord, they are detached, in the perfect balance of Nirvaanaa. ||4||13||33||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 3.
Gauree Gwaarayree, Third Mehl:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਭਾਗਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ
सतिगुरु मिलै वडभागि संजोग ॥
Saṯgur milai vadbẖāg sanjog.
Through great good fortune and high destiny, one meets the True Guru.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥੧॥
हिरदै नामु नित हरि रस भोग ॥१॥
Hirḏai nām niṯ har ras bẖog. ||1||
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is constantly within the heart, and one enjoys the sublime essence of the Lord. ||1||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ
गुरमुखि प्राणी नामु हरि धिआइ ॥
Gurmukẖ parāṇī nām har ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
O mortal, become Gurmukh, and meditate on the Name of the Lord.

ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जनमु जीति लाहा नामु पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Janam jīṯ lāhā nām pā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Be victorious in the game of life, and earn the profit of the Naam. ||1||Pause||

ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ
गिआनु धिआनु गुर सबदु है मीठा ॥
Gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān gur sabaḏ hai mīṯẖā.
Spiritual wisdom and meditation come to those unto whom the Word of the Guru's Shabad is sweet.

ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਚਖਿ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੨॥
गुर किरपा ते किनै विरलै चखि डीठा ॥२॥
Gur kirpā ṯe kinai virlai cẖakẖ dīṯẖā. ||2||
By Guru's Grace, a few have tasted, and seen it. ||2||

ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡ ਬਹੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਚਾਰ
करम कांड बहु करहि अचार ॥
Karam kāʼnd baho karahi acẖār.
They may perform all sorts of religious rituals and good actions,

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥੩॥
बिनु नावै ध्रिगु ध्रिगु अहंकार ॥३॥
Bin nāvai ḏẖarig ḏẖarig ahaʼnkār. ||3||
but without the Name, the egotistical ones are cursed and doomed. ||3||

ਬੰਧਨਿ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਮਾਇਆ ਫਾਸ
बंधनि बाधिओ माइआ फास ॥
Banḏẖan bāḏẖi▫o mā▫i▫ā fās.
They are bound and gagged, and hung by Maya's noose;

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਛੂਟੈ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੩੪॥
जन नानक छूटै गुर परगास ॥४॥१४॥३४॥
Jan Nānak cẖẖūtai gur pargās. ||4||14||34||
O servant Nanak, they shall be released only by Guru's Grace. ||4||14||34||

ਮਹਲਾ ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ
महला ३ गउड़ी बैरागणि ॥
Mėhlā 3 ga▫oṛī bairāgaṇ.
Third Mehl, Gauree Bairaagan:

ਜੈਸੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਊਪਰਿਮੇਘੁਲਾ ਬਰਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਆ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਧੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਹੀ
जैसी धरती ऊपरिमेघुला बरसतु है किआ धरती मधे पाणी नाही ॥
Jaisī ḏẖarṯī ūpar megẖulā barsaṯ hai ki▫ā ḏẖarṯī maḏẖe pāṇī nāhī.
The clouds pour their rain down upon the earth, but isn't there water within the earth as well?

ਜੈਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਧੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਗਾ ਵਰਸਤ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
जैसे धरती मधे पाणी परगासिआ बिनु पगा वरसत फिराही ॥१॥
Jaise ḏẖarṯī maḏẖe pāṇī pargāsi▫ā bin pagā varsaṯ firā▫ī. ||1||
Water is contained within the earth; without feet, the clouds run around and let down their rain. ||1||

ਬਾਬਾ ਤੂੰ ਐਸੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਹੀ
बाबा तूं ऐसे भरमु चुकाही ॥
Bābā ṯūʼn aise bẖaram cẖukāhī.
O Baba, get rid of your doubts like this.

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਤੁ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਤੈਸੇ ਜਾਇ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जो किछु करतु है सोई कोई है रे तैसे जाइ समाही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo kicẖẖ karaṯ hai so▫ī ko▫ī hai re ṯaise jā▫e samāhī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
As you act, so shall you become, and so you shall go and mingle. ||1||Pause||

ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਕਿਆ ਓਇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹੀ
इसतरी पुरख होइ कै किआ ओइ करम कमाही ॥
Isṯarī purakẖ ho▫e kai ki▫ā o▫e karam kamāhī.
As woman or man, what can anyone do?

ਨਾਨਾ ਰੂਪ ਸਦਾ ਹਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
नाना रूप सदा हहि तेरे तुझ ही माहि समाही ॥२॥
Nānā rūp saḏā hėh ṯere ṯujẖ hī māhi samāhī. ||2||
The many and various forms are always Yours, O Lord; they shall merge again into You. ||2||

ਇਤਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ਸੇ ਜਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਭੂਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ
इतने जनम भूलि परे से जा पाइआ ता भूले नाही ॥
Iṯne janam bẖūl pare se jā pā▫i▫ā ṯā bẖūle nāhī.
In countless incarnations, I went astray. Now that I have found You, I shall no longer wander.

ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਈ ਪਰੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੩॥
जा का कारजु सोई परु जाणै जे गुर कै सबदि समाही ॥३॥
Jā kā kāraj so▫ī par jāṇai je gur kai sabaḏ samāhī. ||3||
It is His work; those who are absorbed in the Word of the Guru's Shabad come to know it well. ||3||

ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਹਹਿ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹਾਹੀ
तेरा सबदु तूंहै हहि आपे भरमु कहाही ॥
Ŧerā sabaḏ ṯūʼnhai hėh āpe bẖaram kahāhī.
The Shabad is Yours; You are Yourself. Where is there any doubt?

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਤੁ ਤਤ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਆਹੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫॥੩੫॥
नानक ततु तत सिउ मिलिआ पुनरपि जनमि न आही ॥४॥१॥१५॥३५॥
Nānak ṯaṯ ṯaṯ si▫o mili▫ā punrap janam na āhī. ||4||1||15||35||
O Nanak, one whose essence is merged with the Lord's essence does not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation again. ||4||1||15||35||

ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी बैरागणि महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī bairāgaṇ mėhlā 3.
Gauree Bairaagan, Third Mehl:

ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਬਾਧਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ
सभु जगु कालै वसि है बाधा दूजै भाइ ॥
Sabẖ jag kālai vas hai bāḏẖā ḏūjai bẖā▫e.
The whole world is under the power of Death, bound by the love of duality.

ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
हउमै करम कमावदे मनमुखि मिलै सजाइ ॥१॥
Ha▫umai karam kamāvḏe manmukẖ milai sajā▫e. ||1||
The self-willed manmukhs do their deeds in ego; they receive their just rewards. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ
मेरे मन गुर चरणी चितु लाइ ॥
Mere man gur cẖarṇī cẖiṯ lā▫e.
O my mind, focus your consciousness on the Guru's Feet.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਲੈ ਦਰਗਹ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
गुरमुखि नामु निधानु लै दरगह लए छडाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gurmukẖ nām niḏẖān lai ḏargėh la▫e cẖẖadā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
As Gurmukh, you shall be awarded the treasure of the Naam. In the Court of the Lord, you shall be saved. ||1||Pause||

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਮਨਹਠਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ
लख चउरासीह भरमदे मनहठि आवै जाइ ॥
Lakẖ cẖa▫orāsīh bẖaramḏe manhaṯẖ āvai jā▫e.
Through 8.4 million incarnations, people wander lost; in stubborn-mindedness, they come and go.

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਚੀਨਿਓ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुर का सबदु न चीनिओ फिरि फिरि जोनी पाइ ॥२॥
Gur kā sabaḏ na cẖīni▫o fir fir jonī pā▫e. ||2||
They do not realize the Word of the Guru's Shabad; they are reincarnated over and over again. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ
गुरमुखि आपु पछाणिआ हरि नामु वसिआ मनि आइ ॥
Gurmukẖ āp pacẖẖāṇi▫ā har nām vasi▫ā man ā▫e.
The Gurmukh understands his own self. The Lord's Name comes to dwell within the mind.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
अनदिनु भगती रतिआ हरि नामे सुखि समाइ ॥३॥
An▫ḏin bẖagṯī raṯi▫ā har nāme sukẖ samā▫e. ||3||
Imbued with devotion to the Lord's Name, night and day, he merges in peace. ||3||

ਮਨੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ
मनु सबदि मरै परतीति होइ हउमै तजे विकार ॥
Man sabaḏ marai parṯīṯ ho▫e ha▫umai ṯaje vikār.
When one's mind dies in the Shabad, one radiates faith and confidence, shedding egotism and corruption.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਮੀ ਪਾਈਅਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬॥੩੬॥
जन नानक करमी पाईअनि हरि नामा भगति भंडार ॥४॥२॥१६॥३६॥
Jan Nānak karmī pā▫ī▫an har nāmā bẖagaṯ bẖandār. ||4||2||16||36||
O servant Nanak, through the karma of good actions, the treasure of devotional worship and the Name of the Lord are attained. ||4||2||16||36||

ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी बैरागणि महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī bairāgaṇ mėhlā 3.
Gauree Bairaagan, Third Mehl:

ਪੇਈਅੜੈ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ
पेईअड़ै दिन चारि है हरि हरि लिखि पाइआ ॥
Pe▫ī▫aṛai ḏin cẖār hai har har likẖ pā▫i▫ā.
The Lord, Har, Har, has ordained that the soul is to stay in her parents' home for only a few short days.

ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ
सोभावंती नारि है गुरमुखि गुण गाइआ ॥
Sobẖāvanṯī nār hai gurmukẖ guṇ gā▫i▫ā.
Glorious is that soul-bride, who as Gurmukh, sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਪੇਵਕੜੈ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਮਲੈ ਸਾਹੁਰੈ ਵਾਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ
पेवकड़ै गुण समलै साहुरै वासु पाइआ ॥
Pevkaṛai guṇ sammlai sāhurai vās pā▫i▫ā.
She who cultivates virtue in her parents' home, shall obtain a home at her in-laws.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
गुरमुखि सहजि समाणीआ हरि हरि मनि भाइआ ॥१॥
Gurmukẖ sahj samāṇī▫ā har har man bẖā▫i▫ā. ||1||
The Gurmukhs are intuitively absorbed into the Lord. The Lord is pleasing to their minds. ||1||

ਸਸੁਰੈ ਪੇਈਐ ਪਿਰੁ ਵਸੈ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ
ससुरै पेईऐ पिरु वसै कहु कितु बिधि पाईऐ ॥
Sasurai pe▫ī▫ai pir vasai kaho kiṯ biḏẖ pā▫ī▫ai.
Our Husband Lord dwells in this world, and in the world beyond. Tell me, how can He be found?

ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
आपि निरंजनु अलखु है आपे मेलाईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Āp niranjan alakẖ hai āpe melā▫ī▫ai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Immaculate Lord Himself is unseen. He unites us with Himself. ||1||Pause||
