ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ
मनि निरमलि वसै सचु सोइ ॥
Man nirmal vasai sacẖ so▫e.
The mind becomes pure, when the True Lord dwells within.

ਸਾਚਿ ਵਸਿਐ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਭ ਕਾਰ
साचि वसिऐ साची सभ कार ॥
Sācẖ vasi▫ai sācẖī sabẖ kār.
When one dwells in Truth, all actions become true.

ਊਤਮ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਬਦ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥੩॥
ऊतम करणी सबद बीचार ॥३॥
Ūṯam karṇī sabaḏ bīcẖār. ||3||
The ultimate action is to contemplate the Word of the Shabad. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੋਇ
गुर ते साची सेवा होइ ॥
Gur ṯe sācẖī sevā ho▫e.
Through the Guru, true service is performed.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ
गुरमुखि नामु पछाणै कोइ ॥
Gurmukẖ nām pacẖẖāṇai ko▫e.
How rare is that Gurmukh who recognizes the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਜੀਵੈ ਦਾਤਾ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੁ
जीवै दाता देवणहारु ॥
Jīvai ḏāṯā ḏevaṇhār.
The Giver, the Great Giver, lives forever.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੧॥
नानक हरि नामे लगै पिआरु ॥४॥१॥२१॥
Nānak har nāme lagai pi▫ār. ||4||1||21||
Nanak enshrines love for the Name of the Lord. ||4||1||21||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 3.
Gauree Gwaarayree, Third Mehl:

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ
गुर ते गिआनु पाए जनु कोइ ॥
Gur ṯe gi▫ān pā▫e jan ko▫e.
Those who obtain spiritual wisdom from the Guru are very rare.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੀਝੈ ਸੋਇ
गुर ते बूझै सीझै सोइ ॥
Gur ṯe būjẖai sījẖai so▫e.
Those who obtain this understanding from the Guru become acceptable.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਹਜੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ
गुर ते सहजु साचु बीचारु ॥
Gur ṯe sahj sācẖ bīcẖār.
Through the Guru, we intuitively contemplate the True One.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੧॥
गुर ते पाए मुकति दुआरु ॥१॥
Gur ṯe pā▫e mukaṯ ḏu▫ār. ||1||
Through the Guru, the Gate of Liberation is found. ||1||

ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਆਇ
पूरै भागि मिलै गुरु आइ ॥
Pūrai bẖāg milai gur ā▫e.
Through perfect good destiny, we come to meet the Guru.

ਸਾਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
साचै सहजि साचि समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sācẖai sahj sācẖ samā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The true ones are intuitively absorbed in the True Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ
गुरि मिलिऐ त्रिसना अगनि बुझाए ॥
Gur mili▫ai ṯarisnā agan bujẖā▫e.
Meeting the Guru, the fire of desire is quenched.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਏ
गुर ते सांति वसै मनि आए ॥
Gur ṯe sāʼnṯ vasai man ā▫e.
Through the Guru, peace and tranquility come to dwell within the mind.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਸੁਚਿ ਹੋਇ
गुर ते पवित पावन सुचि होइ ॥
Gur ṯe paviṯ pāvan sucẖ ho▫e.
Through the Guru, we become pure, holy and true.

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
गुर ते सबदि मिलावा होइ ॥२॥
Gur ṯe sabaḏ milāvā ho▫e. ||2||
Through the Guru, we are absorbed in the Word of the Shabad. ||2||

ਬਾਝੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਭ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ
बाझु गुरू सभ भरमि भुलाई ॥
Bājẖ gurū sabẖ bẖaram bẖulā▫ī.
Without the Guru, everyone wanders in doubt.

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ
बिनु नावै बहुता दुखु पाई ॥
Bin nāvai bahuṯā ḏukẖ pā▫ī.
Without the Name, they suffer in terrible pain.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ
गुरमुखि होवै सु नामु धिआई ॥
Gurmukẖ hovai so nām ḏẖi▫ā▫ī.
Those who meditate on the Naam become Gurmukh.

ਦਰਸਨਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚੀ ਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥
दरसनि सचै सची पति होई ॥३॥
Ḏarsan sacẖai sacẖī paṯ ho▫ī. ||3||
True honor is obtained through the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the True Lord. ||3||

ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਹੀਐ ਦਾਤਾ ਇਕੁ ਸੋਈ
किस नो कहीऐ दाता इकु सोई ॥
Kis no kahī▫ai ḏāṯā ik so▫ī.
Why speak of any other? He alone is the Giver.

ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਈ
किरपा करे सबदि मिलावा होई ॥
Kirpā kare sabaḏ milāvā ho▫ī.
When He grants His Grace, union with the Shabad is obtained.

ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ
मिलि प्रीतम साचे गुण गावा ॥
Mil parīṯam sācẖe guṇ gāvā.
Meeting with my Beloved, I sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੨॥
नानक साचे साचि समावा ॥४॥२॥२२॥
Nānak sācẖe sācẖ samāvā. ||4||2||22||
O Nanak, becoming true, I am absorbed in the True One. ||4||2||22||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 3.
Gauree Gwaarayree, Third Mehl:

ਸੁ ਥਾਉ ਸਚੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ
सु थाउ सचु मनु निरमलु होइ ॥
So thā▫o sacẖ man nirmal ho▫e.
True is that place, where the mind becomes pure.

ਸਚਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ
सचि निवासु करे सचु सोइ ॥
Sacẖ nivās kare sacẖ so▫e.
True is the one who abides in Truth.

ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਜਾਪੈ
सची बाणी जुग चारे जापै ॥
Sacẖī baṇī jug cẖāre jāpai.
The True Bani of the Word is known throughout the four ages.

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੈ ॥੧॥
सभु किछु साचा आपे आपै ॥१॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ sācẖā āpe āpai. ||1||
The True One Himself is everything. ||1||

ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ
करमु होवै सतसंगि मिलाए ॥
Karam hovai saṯsang milā▫e.
Through the karma of good actions, one joins the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਬੈਸਿ ਸੁ ਥਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि गुण गावै बैसि सु थाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har guṇ gāvai bais so thā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Sing the Glories of the Lord, sitting in that place. ||1||Pause||

ਜਲਉ ਇਹ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ
जलउ इह जिहवा दूजै भाइ ॥
Jala▫o ih jihvā ḏūjai bẖā▫e.
Burn this tongue, which loves duality,

ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ਫੀਕਾ ਆਲਾਇ
हरि रसु न चाखै फीका आलाइ ॥
Har ras na cẖākẖai fīkā ālā▫e.
which does not taste the sublime essence of the Lord, and which utters insipid words.

ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਫੀਕਾ ਹੋਇ
बिनु बूझे तनु मनु फीका होइ ॥
Bin būjẖe ṯan man fīkā ho▫e.
Without understanding, the body and mind become tasteless and insipid.

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਚਲਿਆ ਰੋਇ ॥੨॥
बिनु नावै दुखीआ चलिआ रोइ ॥२॥
Bin nāvai ḏukẖī▫ā cẖali▫ā ro▫e. ||2||
Without the Name, the miserable ones depart crying out in pain. ||2||

ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ
रसना हरि रसु चाखिआ सहजि सुभाइ ॥
Rasnā har ras cẖākẖi▫ā sahj subẖā▫e.
One whose tongue naturally and intuitively tastes the Lord's sublime essence,

ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ
गुर किरपा ते सचि समाइ ॥
Gur kirpā ṯe sacẖ samā▫e.
by Guru's Grace, is absorbed in the True Lord.

ਸਾਚੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰ
साचे राती गुर सबदु वीचार ॥
Sācẖe rāṯī gur sabaḏ vīcẖār.
Imbued with Truth, one contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad,

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਧਾਰ ॥੩॥
अम्रितु पीवै निरमल धार ॥३॥
Amriṯ pīvai nirmal ḏẖār. ||3||
and drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar, from the immaculate stream within. ||3||

ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਭਾਡਾ ਹੋਇ
नामि समावै जो भाडा होइ ॥
Nām samāvai jo bẖādā ho▫e.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is collected in the vessel of the mind.

ਊਂਧੈ ਭਾਂਡੈ ਟਿਕੈ ਕੋਇ
ऊंधै भांडै टिकै न कोइ ॥
Ūʼnḏẖai bẖāʼndai tikai na ko▫e.
Nothing is collected if the vessel is upside-down.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ
गुर सबदी मनि नामि निवासु ॥
Gur sabḏī man nām nivās.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Naam abides within the mind.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਬਦ ਪਿਆਸ ॥੪॥੩॥੨੩॥
नानक सचु भांडा जिसु सबद पिआस ॥४॥३॥२३॥
Nānak sacẖ bẖāʼndā jis sabaḏ pi▫ās. ||4||3||23||
O Nanak, True is that vessel of the mind, which thirsts for the Shabad. ||4||3||23||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ
गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ३ ॥
Ga▫oṛī gu▫ārerī mėhlā 3.
Gauree Gwaarayree, Third Mehl:

ਇਕਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਰਹੇ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇ
इकि गावत रहे मनि सादु न पाइ ॥
Ik gāvaṯ rahe man sāḏ na pā▫e.
Some sing on and on, but their minds do not find happiness.

ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ
हउमै विचि गावहि बिरथा जाइ ॥
Ha▫umai vicẖ gāvahi birthā jā▫e.
In egotism, they sing, but it is wasted uselessly.

ਗਾਵਣਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੁ
गावणि गावहि जिन नाम पिआरु ॥
Gāvaṇ gāvahi jin nām pi▫ār.
Those who love the Naam, sing the song.

ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
साची बाणी सबद बीचारु ॥१॥
Sācẖī baṇī sabaḏ bīcẖār. ||1||
They contemplate the True Bani of the Word, and the Shabad. ||1||

ਗਾਵਤ ਰਹੈ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ
गावत रहै जे सतिगुर भावै ॥
Gāvaṯ rahai je saṯgur bẖāvai.
They sing on and on, if it pleases the True Guru.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
मनु तनु राता नामि सुहावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Man ṯan rāṯā nām suhāvai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Their minds and bodies are embellished and adorned, attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਇਕਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਇਕਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇਹਿ
इकि गावहि इकि भगति करेहि ॥
Ik gāvahi ik bẖagaṯ karehi.
Some sing, and some perform devotional worship.

ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਸਨੇਹ
नामु न पावहि बिनु असनेह ॥
Nām na pāvahi bin asneh.
Without heart-felt love, the Naam is not obtained.

ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਪਿਆਰਿ
सची भगति गुर सबद पिआरि ॥
Sacẖī bẖagaṯ gur sabaḏ pi▫ār.
True devotional worship consists of love for the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਅਪਨਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
अपना पिरु राखिआ सदा उरि धारि ॥२॥
Apnā pir rākẖi▫ā saḏā ur ḏẖār. ||2||
The devotee keeps his Beloved clasped tightly to his heart. ||2||
