ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਹਾਇ ॥
सतिगुर विचि अम्रित नामु है अम्रितु कहै कहाइ ॥
Saṯgur vicẖ amriṯ nām hai amriṯ kahai kahā▫e.
The Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is within the True Guru.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੋੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
गुरमती नामु निरमलो निरमल नामु धिआइ ॥
Gurmaṯī nām nirmalo nirmal nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
Following the Guru's Teachings, one meditates on the Immaculate Naam, the Pure and Holy Naam.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਤਤੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
अम्रित बाणी ततु है गुरमुखि वसै मनि आइ ॥
Amriṯ baṇī ṯaṯ hai gurmukẖ vasai man ā▫e.
The Ambrosial Word of His Bani is the true essence. It comes to abide in the mind of the Gurmukh.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
हिरदै कमलु परगासिआ जोती जोति मिलाइ ॥
Hirḏai kamal pargāsi▫ā joṯī joṯ milā▫e.
The heart-lotus blossoms forth, and one's light merges in the Light.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਮੇਲਿਓਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਲਿਖਾਇ ॥੨੫॥
नानक सतिगुरु तिन कउ मेलिओनु जिन धुरि मसतकि भागु लिखाइ ॥२५॥
Nānak saṯgur ṯin ka▫o meli▫on jin ḏẖur masṯak bẖāg likẖā▫e. ||25||
O Nanak, they alone meet with the True Guru, who have such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||25||

ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਿ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
अंदरि तिसना अगि है मनमुख भुख न जाइ ॥
Anḏar ṯisnā ag hai manmukẖ bẖukẖ na jā▫e.
Within the self-willed manmukhs is the fire of desire; their hunger does not depart.

ਮੋਹੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੂੜੁ ਹੈ ਕੂੜਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥
मोहु कुट्मबु सभु कूड़ु है कूड़ि रहिआ लपटाइ ॥
Moh kutamb sabẖ kūṛ hai kūṛ rahi▫ā laptā▫e.
Emotional attachments to relatives are totally false; they remain engrossed in falsehood.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਚਿੰਤਵੈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਬਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
अनदिनु चिंता चिंतवै चिंता बधा जाइ ॥
An▫ḏin cẖinṯā cẖinṯvai cẖinṯā baḏẖā jā▫e.
Night and day, they are troubled by anxiety; bound to anxiety, they depart.

ਜੰਮਣੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਚੁਕਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
जमणु मरणु न चुकई हउमै करम कमाइ ॥
Jamaṇ maraṇ na cẖuk▫ī ha▫umai karam kamā▫e.
Their comings and goings in reincarnation never end; they do their deeds in egotism.

ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਉਬਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੨੬॥
गुर सरणाई उबरै नानक लए छडाइ ॥२६॥
Gur sarṇā▫ī ubrai Nānak la▫e cẖẖadā▫e. ||26||
But in the Guru's Sanctuary, they are saved, O Nanak, and set free. ||26||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥
सतिगुर पुरखु हरि धिआइदा सतसंगति सतिगुर भाइ ॥
Saṯgur purakẖ har ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏā saṯsangaṯ saṯgur bẖā▫e.
The True Guru meditates on the Lord, the Primal Being. The Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, loves the True Guru.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥
सतसंगति सतिगुर सेवदे हरि मेले गुरु मेलाइ ॥
Saṯsangaṯ saṯgur sevḏe har mele gur melā▫e.
Those who join the Sat Sangat, and serve the True Guru - the Guru unites them in the Lord's Union.

ਏਹੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰਾਇ ॥
एहु भउजलु जगतु संसारु है गुरु बोहिथु नामि तराइ ॥
Ėhu bẖa▫ojal jagaṯ sansār hai gur bohith nām ṯarā▫e.
This world, this universe, is a terrifying ocean. On the Boat of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Guru carries us across.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖੀ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਇ ॥
गुरसिखी भाणा मंनिआ गुरु पूरा पारि लंघाइ ॥
Gursikẖī bẖāṇā mani▫ā gur pūrā pār langẖā▫e.
The Sikhs of the Guru accept and obey the Lord's Will; the Perfect Guru carries them across.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਭੀ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਂਹਿ ॥
गुरसिखां की हरि धूड़ि देहि हम पापी भी गति पांहि ॥
Gursikẖāʼn kī har ḏẖūṛ ḏėh ham pāpī bẖī gaṯ pāʼnhi.
O Lord, please bless me with the dust of the feet of the Guru's Sikhs. I am a sinner - please save me.

ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥
धुरि मसतकि हरि प्रभ लिखिआ गुर नानक मिलिआ आइ ॥
Ḏẖur masṯak har parabẖ likẖi▫ā gur Nānak mili▫ā ā▫e.
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny written upon their foreheads by the Lord God, come to meet Guru Nanak.

ਜਮਕੰਕਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
जमकंकर मारि बिदारिअनु हरि दरगह लए छडाइ ॥
Jamkankar mār biḏāri▫an har ḏargėh la▫e cẖẖadā▫e.
The Messenger of Death is beaten and driven away; we are saved in the Court of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਨੋ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨੭॥
गुरसिखा नो साबासि है हरि तुठा मेलि मिलाइ ॥२७॥
Gursikẖā no sābās hai har ṯuṯẖā mel milā▫e. ||27||
Blessed and celebrated are the Sikhs of the Guru; in His Pleasure, the Lord unites them in His Union. ||27||

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
गुरि पूरै हरि नामु दिड़ाइआ जिनि विचहु भरमु चुकाइआ ॥
Gur pūrai har nām ḏiṛā▫i▫ā jin vicẖahu bẖaram cẖukā▫i▫ā.
The Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord's Name within me; it has dispelled my doubts from within.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਮਗੁ ਦੇਖਾਇਆ ॥
राम नामु हरि कीरति गाइ करि चानणु मगु देखाइआ ॥
Rām nām har kīraṯ gā▫e kar cẖānaṇ mag ḏekẖā▫i▫ā.
Singing the Kirtan of the Praises of the Lord's Name, the Lord's path is illuminated and shown to His Sikhs.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
हउमै मारि एक लिव लागी अंतरि नामु वसाइआ ॥
Ha▫umai mār ek liv lāgī anṯar nām vasā▫i▫ā.
Conquering my egotism, I remain lovingly attuned to the One Lord; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within me.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
गुरमती जमु जोहि न सकै सचै नाइ समाइआ ॥
Gurmaṯī jam johi na sakai sacẖai nā▫e samā▫i▫ā.
I follow the Guru's Teachings, and so the Messenger of Death cannot even see me; I am immersed in the True Name.

ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
सभु आपे आपि वरतै करता जो भावै सो नाइ लाइआ ॥
Sabẖ āpe āp varṯai karṯā jo bẖāvai so nā▫e lā▫i▫ā.
The Creator Himself is All-pervading; as He pleases, He links us to His Name.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਾਉ ਲਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥੨੮॥
जन नानकु नाउ लए तां जीवै बिनु नावै खिनु मरि जाइआ ॥२८॥
Jan Nānak nā▫o la▫e ṯāʼn jīvai bin nāvai kẖin mar jā▫i▫ā. ||28||
Servant Nanak lives, chanting the Name. Without the Name, he dies in an instant. ||28||

ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਾਕਤ ਦੁਰਜਨਾ ॥
मन अंतरि हउमै रोगु भ्रमि भूले हउमै साकत दुरजना ॥
Man anṯar ha▫umai rog bẖaram bẖūle ha▫umai sākaṯ ḏurjanā.
Within the minds of the faithless cynics is the disease of egotism; these evil people wander around lost, deluded by doubt.

ਨਾਨਕ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਜਣਾ ॥੨੯॥
नानक रोगु गवाइ मिलि सतिगुर साधू सजणा ॥२९॥
Nānak rog gavā▫e mil saṯgur sāḏẖū sajṇā. ||29||
O Nanak, this disease is eradicated only by meeting with the True Guru, the Holy Friend. ||29||

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੇ ॥
गुरमती हरि हरि बोले ॥
Gurmaṯī har har bole.
Following the Guru's Teachings, chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
|
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਕਸਾਈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚੋਲੇ ॥
हरि प्रेमि कसाई दिनसु राति हरि रती हरि रंगि चोले ॥
Har parem kasā▫ī ḏinas rāṯ har raṯī har rang cẖole.
Attracted by the Lord's Love, day and night, the body-robe is imbued with the Lord's Love.

ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਲਭਈ ਸਭੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਗਤੁ ਮੈ ਟੋਲੇ ॥
हरि जैसा पुरखु न लभई सभु देखिआ जगतु मै टोले ॥
Har jaisā purakẖ na labẖ▫ī sabẖ ḏekẖi▫ā jagaṯ mai tole.
I have not found any being like the Lord, although I have searched and looked all over the world.

ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਡੋਲੇ ॥
गुर सतिगुरि नामु दिड़ाइआ मनु अनत न काहू डोले ॥
Gur saṯgur nām ḏiṛā▫i▫ā man anaṯ na kāhū dole.
The Guru, the True Guru, has implanted the Naam within; now, my mind does not waver or wander anywhere else.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਲ ਗੋਲੇ ॥੩੦॥
जन नानकु हरि का दासु है गुर सतिगुर के गुल गोले ॥३०॥
Jan Nānak har kā ḏās hai gur saṯgur ke gul gole. ||30||
Servant Nanak is the slave of the Lord, the slave of the slaves of the Guru, the True Guru. ||30||
