ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ
नदरि करहि जे आपणी तां आपे लैहि सवारि ॥
Naḏar karahi je āpṇī ṯāʼn āpe laihi savār.
But if the Lord casts His Glance of Grace, then He Himself embellishes us.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੬੩॥
नानक गुरमुखि जिन्ही धिआइआ आए से परवाणु ॥६३॥
Nānak gurmukẖ jinĥī ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā ā▫e se parvāṇ. ||63||
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs meditate on the Lord; blessed and approved is their coming into the world. ||63||

ਜੋਗੁ ਭਗਵੀ ਕਪੜੀ ਜੋਗੁ ਮੈਲੇ ਵੇਸਿ
जोगु न भगवी कपड़ी जोगु न मैले वेसि ॥
Jog na bẖagvī kapṛī jog na maile ves.
Yoga is not obtained by wearing saffron robes; Yoga is not obtained by wearing dirty robes.

ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਠਿਆ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ॥੬੪॥
नानक घरि बैठिआ जोगु पाईऐ सतिगुर कै उपदेसि ॥६४॥
Nānak gẖar baiṯẖi▫ā jog pā▫ī▫ai saṯgur kai upḏes. ||64||
O Nanak, Yoga is obtained even while sitting in your own home, by following the Teachings of the True Guru. ||64||

ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਜੇ ਭਵਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਪੜਹਿ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰਿ
चारे कुंडा जे भवहि बेद पड़हि जुग चारि ॥
Cẖāre kundā je bẖavėh beḏ paṛėh jug cẖār.
You may wander in all four directions, and read the Vedas throughout the four ages.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ ॥੬੫॥
नानक साचा भेटै हरि मनि वसै पावहि मोख दुआर ॥६५॥
Nānak sācẖā bẖetai har man vasai pāvahi mokẖ ḏu▫ār. ||65||
O Nanak, if you meet with the True Guru, the Lord shall come to dwell within your mind, and you shall find the door of salvation. ||65||

ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਮਤਿ ਭਵੀ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਚਲ ਚਿਤ
नानक हुकमु वरतै खसम का मति भवी फिरहि चल चित ॥
Nānak hukam varṯai kẖasam kā maṯ bẖavī firėh cẖal cẖiṯ.
O Nanak, the Hukam, the Command of your Lord and Master, is prevailing. The intellectually confused person wanders around lost, misled by his fickle consciousness.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸੁਖ ਕਿ ਪੁਛਹਿ ਮਿਤ
मनमुख सउ करि दोसती सुख कि पुछहि मित ॥
Manmukẖ sa▫o kar ḏosṯī sukẖ kė pucẖẖėh miṯ.
If you make friends with the self-willed manmukhs, O friend, who can you ask for peace?

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਉ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ
गुरमुख सउ करि दोसती सतिगुर सउ लाइ चितु ॥
Gurmukẖ sa▫o kar ḏosṯī saṯgur sa▫o lā▫e cẖiṯ.
Make friends with the Gurmukhs, and focus your consciousness on the True Guru.

ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੀ ਮਿਤ ॥੬੬॥
जमण मरण का मूलु कटीऐ तां सुखु होवी मित ॥६६॥
Jamaṇ maraṇ kā mūl katī▫ai ṯāʼn sukẖ hovī miṯ. ||66||
The root of birth and death will be cut away, and then, you shall find peace, O friend. ||66||

ਭੁਲਿਆਂ ਆਪਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਸੀ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ
भुलिआं आपि समझाइसी जा कउ नदरि करे ॥
Bẖuli▫āʼn āp samjẖā▫isī jā ka▫o naḏar kare.
The Lord Himself instructs those who are misguided, when He casts His Glance of Grace.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਕਰਣ ਪਲਾਹ ਕਰੇ ॥੬੭॥
नानक नदरी बाहरी करण पलाह करे ॥६७॥
Nānak naḏrī bāhrī karaṇ palāh kare. ||67||
O Nanak, those who are not blessed by His Glance of Grace, cry and weep and wail. ||67||

Shalok, Fourth Mehl:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ
वडभागीआ सोहागणी जिन्हा गुरमुखि मिलिआ हरि राइ ॥
vadbẖāgī▫ā sohāgaṇī jinĥā gurmukẖ mili▫ā har rā▫e.
Blessed and very fortunate are those happy soul-brides who, as Gurmukh, meet their Sovereign Lord King.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
अंतरि जोति परगासीआ नानक नामि समाइ ॥१॥
Anṯar joṯ pargāsī▫ā Nānak nām samā▫e. ||1||
The Light of God shines within them; O Nanak, they are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੋਇ
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु पुरखु है जिनि सचु जाता सोइ ॥
vāhu vāhu saṯgur purakẖ hai jin sacẖ jāṯā so▫e.
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, the Primal Being, who has realized the True Lord.

ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤਿਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ
जितु मिलिऐ तिख उतरै तनु मनु सीतलु होइ ॥
Jiṯ mili▫ai ṯikẖ uṯrai ṯan man sīṯal ho▫e.
Meeting Him, thirst is quenched, and the body and mind are cooled and soothed.

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਮਤੁ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु सति पुरखु है जिस नो समतु सभ कोइ ॥
vāhu vāhu saṯgur saṯ purakẖ hai jis no samaṯ sabẖ ko▫e.
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, the True Primal Being, who looks upon all alike.

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਤੁਲਿ ਹੋਇ
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु निरवैरु है जिसु निंदा उसतति तुलि होइ ॥
vāhu vāhu saṯgur nirvair hai jis ninḏā usṯaṯ ṯul ho▫e.
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, who has no hatred; slander and praise are all the same to Him.

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु सुजाणु है जिसु अंतरि ब्रहमु वीचारु ॥
vāhu vāhu saṯgur sujāṇ hai jis anṯar barahm vīcẖār.
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the All-knowing True Guru, who has realized God within.

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरु निरंकारु है जिसु अंतु न पारावारु ॥
vāhu vāhu saṯgur nirankār hai jis anṯ na pārāvār.
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the Formless True Guru, who has no end or limitation.

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਸਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਸੋਇ
वाहु वाहु सतिगुरू है जि सचु द्रिड़ाए सोइ ॥
vāhu vāhu saṯgurū hai jė sacẖ driṛ▫ā▫e so▫e.
Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, who implants the Truth within.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
नानक सतिगुर वाहु वाहु जिस ते नामु परापति होइ ॥२॥
Nānak saṯgur vāhu vāhu jis ṯe nām parāpaṯ ho▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, Blessed and Great is the True Guru, through whom the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is received. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ
हरि प्रभ सचा सोहिला गुरमुखि नामु गोविंदु ॥
Har parabẖ sacẖā sohilā gurmukẖ nām govinḏ.
For the Gurmukh, the true Song of Praise is to chant the Name of the Lord God.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ
अनदिनु नामु सलाहणा हरि जपिआ मनि आनंदु ॥
An▫ḏin nām salāhṇā har japi▫ā man ānanḏ.
Chanting the Praises of the Lord, their minds are in ecstasy.

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ
वडभागी हरि पाइआ पूरन परमानंदु ॥
vadbẖāgī har pā▫i▫ā pūran parmānanḏ.
By great good fortune, they find the Lord, the Embodiment of perfect, supreme bliss.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੩॥
जन नानक नामु सलाहिआ बहुड़ि न मनि तनि भंगु ॥३॥
Jan Nānak nām sahāli▫ā bahuṛ na man ṯan bẖang. ||3||
Servant Nanak praises the Naam, the Name of the Lord; no obstacle will block his mind or body. ||3||

ਮੂੰ ਪਿਰੀਆ ਸਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ
मूं पिरीआ सउ नेहु किउ सजण मिलहि पिआरिआ ॥
Mūʼn pirī▫ā sa▫o nehu ki▫o sajaṇ milėh pi▫āri▫ā.
I am in love with my Beloved; how can I meet my Dear Friend?

ਹਉ ਢੂਢੇਦੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਜਣ ਸਚਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ
हउ ढूढेदी तिन सजण सचि सवारिआ ॥
Ha▫o dẖūdẖeḏī ṯin sajaṇ sacẖ savāri▫ā.
I seek that friend, who is embellished with Truth.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੈਡਾ ਮਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ
सतिगुरु मैडा मितु है जे मिलै त इहु मनु वारिआ ॥
Saṯgur maidā miṯ hai je milai ṯa ih man vāri▫ā.
The True Guru is my Friend; if I meet Him, I will offer this mind as a sacrifice to Him.

ਦੇਂਦਾ ਮੂੰ ਪਿਰੁ ਦਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿਆ
देंदा मूं पिरु दसि हरि सजणु सिरजणहारिआ ॥
Ḏeʼnḏā mūʼn pir ḏas har sajaṇ sirjaṇhāri▫ā.
He has shown me my Beloved Lord, my Friend, the Creator.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਪਿਰੁ ਭਾਲੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ॥੪॥
नानक हउ पिरु भाली आपणा सतिगुर नालि दिखालिआ ॥४॥
Nānak ha▫o pir bẖālī āpṇā saṯgur nāl ḏikẖāli▫ā. ||4||
O Nanak, I was searching for my Beloved; the True Guru has shown me that He has been with me all the time. ||4||

ਹਉ ਖੜੀ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ਪੰਧੁ ਮਤੁ ਮੂੰ ਸਜਣੁ ਆਵਏ
हउ खड़ी निहाली पंधु मतु मूं सजणु आवए ॥
Ha▫o kẖaṛī nihālī panḏẖ maṯ mūʼn sajaṇ āv▫e.
I stand by the side of the road, waiting for You; O my Friend, I hope that You will come.

ਕੋ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਅਜੁ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਏ
को आणि मिलावै अजु मै पिरु मेलि मिलावए ॥
Ko āṇ milāvai aj mai pir mel milāva▫e.
If only someone would come today and unite me in Union with my Beloved.
