ਕਵਿ ਕੀਰਤ ਜੋ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ਮੁੜਿ ਲਾਗਹਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਜਮ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸੁ ॥
कवि कीरत जो संत चरन मुड़ि लागहि तिन्ह काम क्रोध जम को नही त्रासु ॥
Kav kīraṯ jo sanṯ cẖaran muṛ lāgėh ṯinĥ kām kroḏẖ jam ko nahī ṯarās.
Says Kirat, who cling to the feet of saints by turning away from the world, they dread not lust, wrath and death.

ਜਿਵ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਅੰਗਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤਿਵ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਕੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਰਾਮਦਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
जिव अंगदु अंगि संगि नानक गुर तिव गुर अमरदास कै गुरु रामदासु ॥१॥
Jiv angaḏ ang sang Nānak gur ṯiv gur Amarḏās kai gur Rāmḏās. ||1||
As Guru Nanak was always present with Angad, so abides Guru Amar, Dass with Guru Ram Dass.

ਜਿਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਯਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
जिनि सतिगुरु सेवि पदारथु पायउ निसि बासुर हरि चरन निवासु ॥
Jin saṯgur sev paḏārath pā▫ya▫o nis bāsur har cẖaran nivās.
Serving the True Guru, whosoever attains the treasure of Name, night and day, he abides at the God's feet.

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਘਨ ਭਾਇ ਭਉ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਮਲੀਆਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸੁਬਾਸੁ ॥
ता ते संगति सघन भाइ भउ मानहि तुम मलीआगर प्रगट सुबासु ॥
Ŧā ṯe sangaṯ sagẖan bẖā▫e bẖa▫o mānėh ṯum malī▫āgar pargat subās.
Therefore, the entire congregation loves and fears thee. O Guru. Thou are the sandal tree and manifest if thy fragrance.

ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਕਬੀਰ ਤਿਲੋਚਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਉਪਜ੍ਯ੍ਯੋ ਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
ध्रू प्रहलाद कबीर तिलोचन नामु लैत उपज्यो जु प्रगासु ॥
Ḏẖarū parahlāḏ Kabīr ṯilocẖan nām laiṯ upjeo jo pargās.
Reciting the Lord's Name, the Divine Light welled up in Dhru, Prahlad, Kabir and Trilochan.

ਜਿਹ ਪਿਖਤ ਅਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਰਹਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸੁ ॥੨॥
जिह पिखत अति होइ रहसु मनि सोई संत सहारु गुरू रामदासु ॥२॥
Jih pikẖaṯ aṯ ho▫e rahas man so▫ī sanṯ sahār gurū Rāmḏās. ||2||
Seeing whom, the soul is greatly whom, the soul is greatly pleased, he, the support of the saints, is Guru Ram Dass.

ਨਾਨਕਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਜਾਨ੍ਯ੍ਯਉ ਕੀਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
नानकि नामु निरंजन जान्यउ कीनी भगति प्रेम लिव लाई ॥
Nānak nām niranjan jān▫ya▫o kīnī bẖagaṯ parem liv lā▫ī.
Nanak realised the immaculate Name and lovingly fixed his attention on the Lord's devotional service.

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਯੋ ਸਾਇਰੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਕੀ ਨੀਵ ਰਖਾਈ ॥
ता ते अंगदु अंग संगि भयो साइरु तिनि सबद सुरति की नीव रखाई ॥
Ŧā ṯe angaḏ ang sang bẖa▫yo sā▫ir ṯin sabaḏ suraṯ kī nīv rakẖā▫ī.
From him became manifest, like the ocean, Angad, who ever lived in his presence. He rained the Lord's Name on the mortal's mind.

ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਇਕ ਜੀਹ ਕਛੁ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
गुर अमरदास की अकथ कथा है इक जीह कछु कही न जाई ॥
Gur Amarḏās kī akath kathā hai ik jīh kacẖẖ kahī na jā▫ī.
Ineffable is the story of Guru Amar Dass, which cannot, at all, be told, with one tongue.

ਸੋਢੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟਿ ਸਕਲ ਤਾਰਣ ਕਉ ਅਬ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੀ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੩॥
सोढी स्रिस्टि सकल तारण कउ अब गुर रामदास कउ मिली बडाई ॥३॥
Sodẖī sarisat sakal ṯāraṇ ka▫o ab gur Rāmḏās ka▫o milī badā▫ī. ||3||
Sodhi Guru Ram Dass has now obtained glory, in order to ferry across the whole world.

ਹਮ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਭਰੇ ਏਕੁ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ॥
हम अवगुणि भरे एकु गुणु नाही अम्रितु छाडि बिखै बिखु खाई ॥
Ham avguṇ bẖare ek guṇ nāhī amriṯ cẖẖād bikẖai bikẖ kẖā▫ī.
I am brimful with sins and have not even a single virtue. Abandoning Nectar, I eat nothing but poison.

ਮਾਯਾ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ਪੈ ਭੂਲੇ ਸੁਤ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥
माया मोह भरम पै भूले सुत दारा सिउ प्रीति लगाई ॥
Mā▫yā moh bẖaram pai bẖūle suṯ ḏārā si▫o parīṯ lagā▫ī.
Falling into love of riches and doubt, I am wandering about and have contracted affection with my sons and wife.

ਇਕੁ ਉਤਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਮਿਲੰਤ ਜਮ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
इकु उतम पंथु सुनिओ गुर संगति तिह मिलंत जम त्रास मिटाई ॥
Ik uṯam panth suni▫o gur sangaṯ ṯih milanṯ jam ṯarās mitā▫ī.
I have heard that the Guru's congregation alone is the sublime path, adhering to which, the fear of death is shed.

ਇਕ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਭਾਟ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੪॥੫੮॥
इक अरदासि भाट कीरति की गुर रामदास राखहु सरणाई ॥४॥५८॥
Ik arḏās bẖāt kīraṯ kī gur Rāmḏās rākẖo sarṇā▫ī. ||4||58||
Kirat the minstrel, makes a supplication, O Guru Ram Dass, keep thou me ever under thy protection.

ਮੋਹੁ ਮਲਿ ਬਿਵਸਿ ਕੀਅਉ ਕਾਮੁ ਗਹਿ ਕੇਸ ਪਛਾੜ੍ਯ੍ਯਉ ॥
मोहु मलि बिवसि कीअउ कामु गहि केस पछाड़्यउ ॥
Moh mal bivas kī▫a▫o kām gėh kes pacẖẖāṛ▫ya▫o.
The Guru has crushed and overpowered his worldly love and seizing lust by the hair has knocked it down.

ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਖੰਡਿ ਪਰਚੰਡਿ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਸਿਉ ਝਾੜ੍ਯ੍ਯਉ ॥
क्रोधु खंडि परचंडि लोभु अपमान सिउ झाड़्यउ ॥
Kroḏẖ kẖand parcẖand lobẖ apmān si▫o jẖāṛ▫ya▫o.
With his power, he has cut wrath into pieces and avarice, he has disgraced and shaken off.

ਜਨਮੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਮੰਨੈ ॥
जनमु कालु कर जोड़ि हुकमु जो होइ सु मंनै ॥
Janam kāl kar joṛ hukam jo ho▫e so mannai.
With joined hands, birth and death both obey the order, the Guru gives.

ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬੰਧਿਅਉ ਸਿਖ ਤਾਰੇ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੈ ॥
भव सागरु बंधिअउ सिख तारे सुप्रसंनै ॥
Bẖav sāgar banḏẖi▫a▫o sikẖ ṯāre suparsannai.
The world ocean, thou have brought under thy sway and by thy supreme pleasure, thou have ferried across thine disciples.

ਸਿਰਿ ਆਤਪਤੁ ਸਚੌ ਤਖਤੁ ਜੋਗ ਭੋਗ ਸੰਜੁਤੁ ਬਲਿ ॥
सिरि आतपतु सचौ तखतु जोग भोग संजुतु बलि ॥
Sir āṯpaṯ sacẖou ṯakẖaṯ jog bẖog sanjuṯ bal.
With canopy on thy head, thou are seated on the True Throne and are embellished with both the spiritual and secular powers.

ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਚੁ ਸਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਭਣਿ ਤੂ ਅਟਲੁ ਰਾਜਿ ਅਭਗੁ ਦਲਿ ॥੧॥
गुर रामदास सचु सल्य भणि तू अटलु राजि अभगु दलि ॥१॥
Gur Rāmḏās sacẖ sal▫y bẖaṇ ṯū atal rāj abẖag ḏal. ||1||
Sall, the bard, recites the truth, O Guru Ram Dass, eternal is thy rule and unconquerable thy army.

ਤੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗੀ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ॥
तू सतिगुरु चहु जुगी आपि आपे परमेसरु ॥
Ŧū saṯgur cẖahu jugī āp āpe parmesar.
Thou are the True Guru of the four ages and thou thyself are the Supreme Lord.

ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸਿਖ ਸੇਵੰਤ ਧੁਰਹ ਧੁਰੁ ॥
सुरि नर साधिक सिध सिख सेवंत धुरह धुरु ॥
Sur nar sāḏẖik siḏẖ sikẖ sevanṯ ḏẖurah ḏẖur.
Since the very beginning, angelic persons, strivers, adepts and disciples have been serving thee.

ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਦਿ ਕਲਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਲੋਅਹ ॥
आदि जुगादि अनादि कला धारी त्रिहु लोअह ॥
Āḏ jugāḏ anāḏ kalā ḏẖārī ṯarihu lo▫ah.
O Primeval person, Thou are since the commencement of ages and without any beginning. Thy power is giving support to the three worlds.

ਅਗਮ ਨਿਗਮ ਉਧਰਣ ਜਰਾ ਜੰਮਿਹਿ ਆਰੋਅਹ ॥
अगम निगम उधरण जरा जमिहि आरोअह ॥
Agam nigam uḏẖraṇ jarā jamihi āro▫ah.
The Unfathomable Lord is the Saviour of the Vedas and he has conquered old age and death.

ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸਿ ਥਿਰੁ ਥਪਿਅਉ ਪਰਗਾਮੀ ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ॥
गुर अमरदासि थिरु थपिअउ परगामी तारण तरण ॥
Gur Amarḏās thir thapi▫a▫o pargāmī ṯāraṇ ṯaraṇ.
Guru Amar Dass has eternally established thee. Thou are the emancipator of mortals and a ship to ferry across.

ਅਘ ਅੰਤਕ ਬਦੈ ਨ ਸਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਵਿ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣ ॥੨॥੬੦॥
अघ अंतक बदै न सल्य कवि गुर रामदास तेरी सरण ॥२॥६०॥
Agẖ anṯak baḏai na sal▫y kav gur Rāmḏās ṯerī saraṇ. ||2||60||
Says Sall, the poet, O Guru Ram Dass, thou are the destroyer of sins; therefore, I have sought Thine refuge.

ਸਵਈਏ ਮਹਲੇ ਪੰਜਵੇ ਕੇ ੫
सवईए महले पंजवे के ५
Sava▫ī▫e mahle panjve ke 5
Swayas in praise of the 5th Guru.
|
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. But the True Guru's grace, is He attained.
|
ਸਿਮਰੰ ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਚਲੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
सिमरं सोई पुरखु अचलु अबिनासी ॥
Simaraʼn so▫ī purakẖ acẖal abẖināsī.
Meditate I on Him who is the Eternal and Imperishable Lord.

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਲੁ ਨਾਸੀ ॥
जिसु सिमरत दुरमति मलु नासी ॥
Jis simraṯ ḏurmaṯ mal nāsī.
Contemplating upon whom, the filth of evil understanding is washed off.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਕਵਲ ਰਿਦਿ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
सतिगुर चरण कवल रिदि धारं ॥
Saṯgur cẖaraṇ kaval riḏ ḏẖāraʼn.
The True Guru's lotus feet, enshrine I within my mind.
