ਕਹਤਿਅਹ ਕਹਤੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਰਹਤ ਕੋ ਖੁਸੀ ਨ ਆਯਉ ॥
कहतिअह कहती सुणी रहत को खुसी न आयउ ॥
Kėhṯi▫ah kahṯī suṇī rahaṯ ko kẖusī na ā▫ya▫o.
I listened to preachers and teachers, but I could not be happy with their lifestyles.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੇ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਉ ॥
हरि नामु छोडि दूजै लगे तिन्ह के गुण हउ किआ कहउ ॥
Har nām cẖẖod ḏūjai lage ṯinĥ ke guṇ ha▫o ki▫ā kaha▫o.
Those who have abandoned the Lord's Name, and become attached to duality - why should I speak in praise of them?

ਗੁਰੁ ਦਯਿ ਮਿਲਾਯਉ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਜਿਵ ਤੂ ਰਖਹਿ ਤਿਵ ਰਹਉ ॥੨॥੨੦॥
गुरु दयि मिलायउ भिखिआ जिव तू रखहि तिव रहउ ॥२॥२०॥
Gur ḏa▫yi milā▫ya▫o bẖikẖi▫ā jiv ṯū rakẖėh ṯiv raha▫o. ||2||20||
So speaks Bhikhaa: the Lord has led me to meet the Guru. As You keep me, I remain; as You protect me, I survive. ||2||20||

ਪਹਿਰਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਨਾਹੁ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਹੈ ਆਸਣਿ ਚੜਿਅਉ ॥
पहिरि समाधि सनाहु गिआनि है आसणि चड़िअउ ॥
Pahir samāḏẖ sanāhu gi▫ān hai āsaṇ cẖaṛi▫a▫o.
Wearing the armor of Samaadhi, the Guru has mounted the saddled horse of spiritual wisdom.

ਧ੍ਰੰਮ ਧਨਖੁ ਕਰ ਗਹਿਓ ਭਗਤ ਸੀਲਹ ਸਰਿ ਲੜਿਅਉ ॥
ध्रम धनखु कर गहिओ भगत सीलह सरि लड़िअउ ॥
Ḏẖaramm ḏẖanakẖ kar gahi▫o bẖagaṯ sīlah sar laṛi▫a▫o.
Holding the bow of Dharma in His Hands, He has shot the arrows of devotion and humility.

ਭੈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਅਟਲੁ ਮਨਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰ ਨੇਜਾ ਗਡਿਓ ॥
भै निरभउ हरि अटलु मनि सबदि गुर नेजा गडिओ ॥
Bẖai nirbẖa▫o har atal man sabaḏ gur nejā gadi▫o.
He is fearless in the Fear of the Eternal Lord God; He has thrust the spear of the Word of the Guru's Shabad into the mind.

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਪਤੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਬਿਖੰਡਿਓ ॥
काम क्रोध लोभ मोह अपतु पंच दूत बिखंडिओ ॥
Kām kroḏẖ lobẖ moh apaṯ pancẖ ḏūṯ bikẖandi▫o.
He has cut down the five demons of unfulfilled sexual desire, unresolved anger, unsatisfied greed, emotional attachment and self-conceit.

ਭਲਉ ਭੂਹਾਲੁ ਤੇਜੋ ਤਨਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਰਿ ॥
भलउ भूहालु तेजो तना न्रिपति नाथु नानक बरि ॥
Bẖala▫o bẖūhāl ṯejo ṯanā nripṯ nāth Nānak bar.
Guru Amar Daas, the son of Tayj Bhaan, of the noble Bhalla dynasty, blessed by Guru Nanak, is the Master of kings.

ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਸਚੁ ਸਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਭਣਿ ਤੈ ਦਲੁ ਜਿਤਉ ਇਵ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿ ॥੧॥੨੧॥
गुर अमरदास सचु सल्य भणि तै दलु जितउ इव जुधु करि ॥१॥२१॥
Gur Amarḏās sacẖ sal▫y bẖaṇ ṯai ḏal jiṯa▫o iv juḏẖ kar. ||1||21||
SALL speaks the truth; O Guru Amar Daas, you have conquered the army of evil, fighting the battle this way. ||1||21||

ਘਨਹਰ ਬੂੰਦ ਬਸੁਅ ਰੋਮਾਵਲਿ ਕੁਸਮ ਬਸੰਤ ਗਨੰਤ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
घनहर बूंद बसुअ रोमावलि कुसम बसंत गनंत न आवै ॥
Gẖanhar būnḏ basu▫a romāval kusam basanṯ gananṯ na āvai.
The raindrops of the clouds, the plants of the earth, and the flowers of the spring cannot be counted.

ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਉਦਰੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੋ ਗੰਗ ਤਰੰਗ ਅੰਤੁ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
रवि ससि किरणि उदरु सागर को गंग तरंग अंतु को पावै ॥
Rav sas kiraṇ uḏar sāgar ko gang ṯarang anṯ ko pāvai.
Who can know the limits of the rays of the sun and the moon, the waves of the ocean and the Ganges?

ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਕਬਿ ਜਨ ਭਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਉਨਹ ਜੋੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
रुद्र धिआन गिआन सतिगुर के कबि जन भल्य उनह जो गावै ॥
Ruḏr ḏẖi▫ān gi▫ān saṯgur ke kab jan bẖal▫y unah jo gāvai.
With Shiva's meditation and the spiritual wisdom of the True Guru, says BHALL the poet, these may be counted.

ਭਲੇ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੋਹਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥੨੨॥
भले अमरदास गुण तेरे तेरी उपमा तोहि बनि आवै ॥१॥२२॥
Bẖale Amarḏās guṇ ṯere ṯerī upmā ṯohi ban āvai. ||1||22||
O Guru Amar Daas, Your Glorious Virtues are so sublime; Your Praises belong only to You. ||1||22||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
इक मनि पुरखु निरंजनु धिआवउ ॥
Ik man purakẖ niranjan ḏẖi▫āva▫o.
Meditate single-mindedly on the Immaculate Primal Lord God.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
गुर प्रसादि हरि गुण सद गावउ ॥
Gur parsāḏ har guṇ saḏ gāva▫o.
By Guru's Grace, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever.

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਗਾਸਾ ॥
गुन गावत मनि होइ बिगासा ॥
Gun gāvaṯ man ho▫e bigāsā.
Singing His Praises, the mind blossoms forth in ecstasy.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰਿ ਜਨਹ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
सतिगुर पूरि जनह की आसा ॥
Saṯgur pūr janah kī āsā.
The True Guru fulfills the hopes of His humble servant.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਯਉ ॥
सतिगुरु सेवि परम पदु पायउ ॥
Saṯgur sev param paḏ pā▫ya▫o.
Serving the True Guru, the supreme status is obtained.

ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਬਿਗਤੁ ਧਿਆਯਉ ॥
अबिनासी अबिगतु धिआयउ ॥
Abẖināsī abigaṯ ḏẖi▫ā▫ya▫o.
Meditate on the Imperishable, Formless Lord God.

ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਦਾਰਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਚੰਪੈ ॥
तिसु भेटे दारिद्रु न च्मपै ॥
Ŧis bẖete ḏāriḏar na cẖampai.
Meeting with Him, one escapes poverty.

ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਸਹਾਰੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਗੁਣ ਜੰਪੈ ॥
कल्य सहारु तासु गुण ज्मपै ॥
Kal▫y sahār ṯās guṇ jampai.
Kal Sahaar chants His Glorious Praises.

ਜੰਪਉ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਮਲ ਸੁਜਨ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੇ ਅਮਿਅ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਫੁਰਿਆ ॥
ज्मपउ गुण बिमल सुजन जन केरे अमिअ नामु जा कउ फुरिआ ॥
Jampa▫o guṇ bimal sujan jan kere ami▫a nām jā ka▫o furi▫ā.
I chant the pure praises of that humble being who has been blessed with the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਇਨਿ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਬਦ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਯਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਉਰਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
इनि सतगुरु सेवि सबद रसु पाया नामु निरंजन उरि धरिआ ॥
In saṯgur sev sabaḏ ras pā▫yā nām niranjan ur ḏẖari▫ā.
He served the True Guru and was blessed with the sublime essence of the Shabad, the Word of God. The Immaculate Naam has been enshrined in his heart.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿਕੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਚਾਹਕੁ ਤਤ ਸਮਤ ਸਰੇ ॥
हरि नाम रसिकु गोबिंद गुण गाहकु चाहकु तत समत सरे ॥
Har nām rasik gobinḏ guṇ gāhak cẖāhak ṯaṯ samaṯ sare.
He enjoys and savors the Lord's Name, and purchases the Glorious Virtues of the Lord of the Universe. He seeks the essence of reality; he is the Fountain of even-handed justice.

ਕਵਿ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਠਕੁਰ ਹਰਦਾਸ ਤਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਰ ਅਭਰ ਭਰੇ ॥੧॥
कवि कल्य ठकुर हरदास तने गुर रामदास सर अभर भरे ॥१॥
Kav kal▫y ṯẖakur harḏās ṯane gur Rāmḏās sar abẖar bẖare. ||1||
So speaks KALL the poet: Guru Raam Daas, the son of Har Daas, fills the empty pools to overflowing. ||1||

ਛੁਟਤ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਅਮਿਅ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਸਦ ਭਰਿਆ ॥
छुटत परवाह अमिअ अमरा पद अम्रित सरोवर सद भरिआ ॥
Cẖẖutaṯ parvāh ami▫a amrā paḏ amriṯ sarovar saḏ bẖari▫ā.
The stream of ambrosial nectar flows and the immortal status is obtained; the pool is forever overflowing with Ambrosial Nectar.

ਤੇ ਪੀਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਪੁਬ ਜਿਨਹੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀਆ ॥
ते पीवहि संत करहि मनि मजनु पुब जिनहु सेवा करीआ ॥
Ŧe pīvėh sanṯ karahi man majan pub jinahu sevā karī▫ā.
Those Saints who have served the Lord in the past drink in this Nectar, and bathe their minds in it.

ਤਿਨ ਭਉ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਅਨਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਦੀਨਾ ਸਬਦ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਉਧਰ ਧਰੇ ॥
तिन भउ निवारि अनभै पदु दीना सबद मात्र ते उधर धरे ॥
Ŧin bẖa▫o nivār anbẖai paḏ ḏīnā sabaḏ maṯar ṯe uḏẖar ḏẖare.
God takes their fears away, and blesses them with the state of fearless dignity. Through the Word of His Shabad, He has saved them.

ਸਤਗੁਰ ਮਤਿ ਗੂੜ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬਿਮਲ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੁ ਭਯਾ ॥
सतगुर मति गूड़्ह बिमल सतसंगति आतमु रंगि चलूलु भया ॥
Saṯgur maṯ gūṛĥ bimal saṯsangaṯ āṯam rang cẖalūl bẖa▫yā.
The True Guru's understanding is deep and profound. The Sat Sangat is His Pure Congregation. His Soul is drenched in the deep crimson color of the Lord's Love.

ਜਾਗ੍ਯ੍ਯਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਵਲੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਪਰਕਾਸ੍ਯ੍ਯਾ ਅਭੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਘਰਹਿ ਲਹਾ ॥
जाग्या मनु कवलु सहजि परकास्या अभै निरंजनु घरहि लहा ॥
Jāg▫yā man kaval sahj parkās▫yā abẖai niranjan gẖarėh lahā.
The Lotus of His mind remains awake and aware, illuminated with intuitive wisdom. In His own home, He has obtained the Fearless, Immaculate Lord.
