ਹਾਥ ਪਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਚੀਤੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨੧੩॥
हाथ पाउ करि कामु सभु चीतु निरंजन नालि ॥२१३॥
Hāth pā▫o kar kām sabẖ cẖīṯ niranjan nāl. ||213||
With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord. ||213||

Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਬੀਰਾ ਹਮਰਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਹਮ ਕਿਸ ਹੂ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ
कबीरा हमरा को नही हम किस हू के नाहि ॥
Kabīrā hamrā ko nahī ham kis hū ke nāhi.
Kabeer, no one belongs to me, and I belong to no one else.

ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੨੧੪॥
जिनि इहु रचनु रचाइआ तिस ही माहि समाहि ॥२१४॥
Jin ih racẖan racẖā▫i▫ā ṯis hī māhi samāhi. ||214||
The One who created the creation - into Him I shall be absorbed. ||214||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕੀਚੜਿ ਆਟਾ ਗਿਰਿ ਪਰਿਆ ਕਿਛੂ ਆਇਓ ਹਾਥ
कबीर कीचड़ि आटा गिरि परिआ किछू न आइओ हाथ ॥
Kabīr kīcẖaṛ ātā gir pari▫ā kicẖẖū na ā▫i▫o hāth.
Kabeer, the flour has fallen into the mud; nothing has come into my hands.

ਪੀਸਤ ਪੀਸਤ ਚਾਬਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਨਿਬਹਿਆ ਸਾਥ ॥੨੧੫॥
पीसत पीसत चाबिआ सोई निबहिआ साथ ॥२१५॥
Pīsaṯ pīsaṯ cẖābi▫ā so▫ī nibhi▫ā sāth. ||215||
That which was eaten while it was being ground - that alone is of any use. ||215||

ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਭ ਬਾਤ ਜਾਨਤ ਹੀ ਅਉਗਨੁ ਕਰੈ
कबीर मनु जानै सभ बात जानत ही अउगनु करै ॥
Kabīr man jānai sabẖ bāṯ jānaṯ hī a▫ugan karai.
Kabeer, the mortal knows everything, and knowing, he still makes mistakes.

ਕਾਹੇ ਕੀ ਕੁਸਲਾਤ ਹਾਥਿ ਦੀਪੁ ਕੂਏ ਪਰੈ ॥੨੧੬॥
काहे की कुसलात हाथि दीपु कूए परै ॥२१६॥
Kāhe kī kuslāṯ hāth ḏīp kū▫e parai. ||216||
What good is a lamp in one's hand, if he falls into the well? ||216||

ਕਬੀਰ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਸਿਉ ਬਰਜੈ ਲੋਗੁ ਅਜਾਨੁ
कबीर लागी प्रीति सुजान सिउ बरजै लोगु अजानु ॥
Kabīr lāgī parīṯ sujān si▫o barjai log ajān.
Kabeer, I am in love with the All-knowing Lord; the ignorant ones try to hold me back.

ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਟੂਟੀ ਕਿਉ ਬਨੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਾਨ ॥੨੧੭॥
ता सिउ टूटी किउ बनै जा के जीअ परान ॥२१७॥
Ŧā si▫o tūtī ki▫o banai jā ke jī▫a parān. ||217||
How could I ever break with the One, who owns our soul and breath of life. ||217||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋਠੇ ਮੰਡਪ ਹੇਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਮਰਹੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ
कबीर कोठे मंडप हेतु करि काहे मरहु सवारि ॥
Kabīr koṯẖe mandap heṯ kar kāhe marahu savār.
Kabeer, why kill yourself for your love of decorations of your home and mansion?

ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਾਢੇ ਤੀਨਿ ਹਥ ਘਨੀ ਪਉਨੇ ਚਾਰਿ ॥੨੧੮॥
कारजु साढे तीनि हथ घनी त पउने चारि ॥२१८॥
Kāraj sādẖe ṯīn hath gẖanī ṯa pa▫une cẖār. ||218||
In the end, only six feet, or a little more, shall be your lot. ||218||

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋ ਮੈ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਨਾ ਕਰੈ ਕਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿਤਵੇ ਹੋਇ
कबीर जो मै चितवउ ना करै किआ मेरे चितवे होइ ॥
Kabīr jo mai cẖiṯva▫o nā karai ki▫ā mere cẖiṯve ho▫e.
Kabeer, whatever I wish for does not happen. What can I accomplish by merely thinking?

ਅਪਨਾ ਚਿਤਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਰੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨੧੯॥
अपना चितविआ हरि करै जो मेरे चिति न होइ ॥२१९॥
Apnā cẖiṯvi▫ā har karai jo mere cẖiṯ na ho▫e. ||219||
The Lord does whatever He wishes; it is not up to me at all. ||219||

Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਚਿੰਤਾ ਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਇਸੀ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ
चिंता भि आपि कराइसी अचिंतु भि आपे देइ ॥
Cẖinṯā bẖė āp karā▫isī acẖinṯ bẖė āpe ḏe▫e.
God Himself makes the mortals anxious, and He Himself takes the anxiety away.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੨੨੦॥
नानक सो सालाहीऐ जि सभना सार करेइ ॥२२०॥
Nānak so salāhī▫ai jė sabẖnā sār kare▫i. ||220||
O Nanak, praise the One, who takes care of all. ||220||

Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਫਿਰਿਆ ਲਾਲਚ ਮਾਹਿ
कबीर रामु न चेतिओ फिरिआ लालच माहि ॥
Kabīr rām na cẖeṯi▫o firi▫ā lālacẖ māhi.
Kabeer, the mortal does not remember the Lord; he wanders around, engrossed in greed.

ਪਾਪ ਕਰੰਤਾ ਮਰਿ ਗਇਆ ਅਉਧ ਪੁਨੀ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੨੨੧॥
पाप करंता मरि गइआ अउध पुनी खिन माहि ॥२२१॥
Pāp karanṯā mar ga▫i▫ā a▫oḏẖ punī kẖin māhi. ||221||
Committing sins, he dies, and his life ends in an instant. ||221||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਾਚੀ ਕਾਰਵੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਕਾਚੀ ਧਾਤੁ
कबीर काइआ काची कारवी केवल काची धातु ॥
Kabīr kā▫i▫ā kācẖī kārvī keval kācẖī ḏẖāṯ.
Kabeer, the body is like a clay vessel or a brittle metal pot.

ਸਾਬਤੁ ਰਖਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਭਜੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਬਿਨਠੀ ਬਾਤ ॥੨੨੨॥
साबतु रखहि त राम भजु नाहि त बिनठी बात ॥२२२॥
Sābaṯ rakẖėh ṯa rām bẖaj nāhi ṯa binṯẖī bāṯ. ||222||
If you wish to keep it safe and sound, then vibrate and meditate on the Lord; otherwise, the thing shall break. ||222||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕੇਸੋ ਕੇਸੋ ਕੂਕੀਐ ਸੋਈਐ ਅਸਾਰ
कबीर केसो केसो कूकीऐ न सोईऐ असार ॥
Kabīr keso keso kūkī▫ai na so▫ī▫ai asār.
Kabeer, chant the Name of the Beautifully-haired Lord; do not sleep unaware.

ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਕੇ ਕੂਕਨੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਕੇ ਸੁਨੈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥੨੨੩॥
राति दिवस के कूकने कबहू के सुनै पुकार ॥२२३॥
Rāṯ ḏivas ke kūkne kabhū ke sunai pukār. ||223||
Chanting His Name night and day, the Lord will eventually hear your call. ||223||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਜਲੀ ਬਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਕੁੰਚਰੁ ਮਯ ਮੰਤੁ
कबीर काइआ कजली बनु भइआ मनु कुंचरु मय मंतु ॥
Kabīr kā▫i▫ā kajlī ban bẖa▫i▫ā man kuncẖar ma▫y manṯ.
Kabeer, the body is a banana forest, and the mind is an intoxicated elephant.

ਅੰਕਸੁ ਗ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਨੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਹੈ ਖੇਵਟੁ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਸੰਤੁ ॥੨੨੪॥
अंकसु ग्यानु रतनु है खेवटु बिरला संतु ॥२२४॥
Ankas ga▫yān raṯan hai kẖevat birlā sanṯ. ||224||
The jewel of spiritual wisdom is the prod, and the rare Saint is the rider. ||224||

ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਕੋਥਰੀ ਪਾਰਖ ਆਗੈ ਖੋਲਿ
कबीर राम रतनु मुखु कोथरी पारख आगै खोलि ॥
Kabīr rām raṯan mukẖ kothrī pārakẖ āgai kẖol.
Kabeer, the Lord's Name is the jewel, and the mouth is the purse; open this purse to the Appraiser.

ਕੋਈ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੈਗੋ ਗਾਹਕੀ ਲੇਗੋ ਮਹਗੇ ਮੋਲਿ ॥੨੨੫॥
कोई आइ मिलैगो गाहकी लेगो महगे मोलि ॥२२५॥
Ko▫ī ā▫e milaigo gāhkī lego mahge mol. ||225||
If a buyer can be found, it will go for a high price. ||225||

ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਲਿਓ ਕਟਕੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ
कबीर राम नामु जानिओ नही पालिओ कटकु कुट्मबु ॥
Kabīr rām nām jāni▫o nahī pāli▫o katak kutamb.
Kabeer, the mortal does not know the Lord's Name, but he has raised a very large family.

ਧੰਧੇ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਮਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭਈ ਬੰਬ ॥੨੨੬॥
धंधे ही महि मरि गइओ बाहरि भई न ब्मब ॥२२६॥
Ḏẖanḏẖe hī mėh mar ga▫i▫o bāhar bẖa▫ī na bamb. ||226||
He dies in the midst of his worldly affairs, and then he is not heard in the external world. ||226||

ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖੀ ਕੇਰੇ ਮਾਟੁਕੇ ਪਲੁ ਪਲੁ ਗਈ ਬਿਹਾਇ
कबीर आखी केरे माटुके पलु पलु गई बिहाइ ॥
Kabīr ākẖī kere mātuke pal pal ga▫ī bihā▫e.
Kabeer, in the blink of an eye, moment by moment, life is passing by.

ਮਨੁ ਜੰਜਾਲੁ ਛੋਡਈ ਜਮ ਦੀਆ ਦਮਾਮਾ ਆਇ ॥੨੨੭॥
मनु जंजालु न छोडई जम दीआ दमामा आइ ॥२२७॥
Man janjāl na cẖẖod▫ī jam ḏī▫ā ḏamāmā ā▫e. ||227||
The mortal does not give up his worldly entanglements; the Messenger of Death walks in and beats the drum. ||227||

ਕਬੀਰ ਤਰਵਰ ਰੂਪੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਫਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ
कबीर तरवर रूपी रामु है फल रूपी बैरागु ॥
Kabīr ṯarvar rūpī rām hai fal rūpī bairāg.
Kabeer, the Lord is the tree, and disillusionment with the world is the fruit.

ਛਾਇਆ ਰੂਪੀ ਸਾਧੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਤਜਿਆ ਬਾਦੁ ਬਿਬਾਦੁ ॥੨੨੮॥
छाइआ रूपी साधु है जिनि तजिआ बादु बिबादु ॥२२८॥
Cẖẖā▫i▫ā rūpī sāḏẖ hai jin ṯaji▫ā bāḏ bibāḏ. ||228||
The Holy man, who has abandoned useless arguments, is the shade of the tree. ||228||

ਕਬੀਰ ਐਸਾ ਬੀਜੁ ਬੋਇ ਬਾਰਹ ਮਾਸ ਫਲੰਤ
कबीर ऐसा बीजु बोइ बारह मास फलंत ॥
Kabīr aisā bīj bo▫e bārah mās falanṯ.
Kabeer, plant the seeds of such a plant, which shall bear fruit throughout the twelve months,

ਸੀਤਲ ਛਾਇਆ ਗਹਿਰ ਫਲ ਪੰਖੀ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੰਤ ॥੨੨੯॥
सीतल छाइआ गहिर फल पंखी केल करंत ॥२२९॥
Sīṯal cẖẖā▫i▫ā gahir fal pankẖī kel karanṯ. ||229||
with cooling shade and abundant fruit, upon which birds joyously play. ||229||

ਕਬੀਰ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਦਯਾ ਫਲੁ ਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਜੀਵੰਤ
कबीर दाता तरवरु दया फलु उपकारी जीवंत ॥
Kabīr ḏāṯā ṯarvar ḏa▫yā fal upkārī jīvanṯ.
Kabeer, the Great Giver is the tree, which blesses all with the fruit of compassion.

ਪੰਖੀ ਚਲੇ ਦਿਸਾਵਰੀ ਬਿਰਖਾ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲੰਤ ॥੨੩੦॥
पंखी चले दिसावरी बिरखा सुफल फलंत ॥२३०॥
Pankẖī cẖale ḏisāvarī birkẖā sufal falanṯ. ||230||
When the birds migrate to other lands, O Tree, you bear the fruits. ||230||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇ ਲਿਲਾਟ
कबीर साधू संगु परापती लिखिआ होइ लिलाट ॥
Kabīr sāḏẖū sang parāpaṯī likẖi▫ā ho▫e lilāt.
Kabeer, the mortal finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, if he has such destiny written upon his forehead.
