ਤਾਸੁ ਪਟੰਤਰ ਨਾ ਪੁਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥੧੫੯॥
तासु पटंतर ना पुजै हरि जन की पनिहारि ॥१५९॥
Ŧās patanṯar na pujai har jan kī panihār. ||159||
But she is not equal to the water-carrier of the Lord’s humble servant. ||159||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨਾਰੀ ਕਿਉ ਨਿੰਦੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਰੀ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
कबीर न्रिप नारी किउ निंदीऐ किउ हरि चेरी कउ मानु ॥
Kabīr nrip nārī ki▫o ninḏī▫ai ki▫o har cẖerī ka▫o mān.
Kabir! Why do you slander the wife of the king? Why do you honor the slave of the Lord?

ਓਹ ਮਾਂਗ ਸਵਾਰੈ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਉ ਓਹ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧੬੦॥
ओह मांग सवारै बिखै कउ ओह सिमरै हरि नामु ॥१६०॥
Oh māʼng savārai bikẖai ka▫o oh simrai har nām. ||160||
Because one combs her hair for corruption, while the other remembers the Name of the Lord. ||160||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਥੂਨੀ ਪਾਈ ਥਿਤਿ ਭਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬੰਧੀ ਧੀਰ ॥
कबीर थूनी पाई थिति भई सतिगुर बंधी धीर ॥
Kabīr thūnī pā▫ī thiṯ bẖa▫ī saṯgur banḏẖī ḏẖīr.
Kabir! With the Support of the Lord’s Pillar, I have become steady and stable.

ਕਬੀਰ ਹੀਰਾ ਬਨਜਿਆ ਮਾਨ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੀਰ ॥੧੬੧॥
कबीर हीरा बनजिआ मान सरोवर तीर ॥१६१॥
Kabīr hīrā banji▫ā mān sarovar ṯīr. ||161||
The True Guru has given me courage. Kabir, I have purchased the diamond, on the banks of the Mansarovar Lake. ||161||

ਕਬੀਰ ਹਰਿ ਹੀਰਾ ਜਨ ਜਉਹਰੀ ਲੇ ਕੈ ਮਾਂਡੈ ਹਾਟ ॥
कबीर हरि हीरा जन जउहरी ले कै मांडै हाट ॥
Kabīr har hīrā jan ja▫uharī le kai māʼndai hāt.
Kabir! The Lord is the Diamond, and the Lord’s humble servant is the jeweler who has set up his shop.

ਜਬ ਹੀ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਪਾਰਖੂ ਤਬ ਹੀਰਨ ਕੀ ਸਾਟ ॥੧੬੨॥
जब ही पाईअहि पारखू तब हीरन की साट ॥१६२॥
Jab hī pā▫ī▫ah pārkẖū ṯab hīran kī sāt. ||162||
As soon as an appraiser is found, the price of the jewel is set. ||162||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਮ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਐਸਾ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਨਿਤ ॥
कबीर काम परे हरि सिमरीऐ ऐसा सिमरहु नित ॥
Kabīr kām pare har simrī▫ai aisā simrahu niṯ.
Kabir! You remember the Lord in meditation, only when the need arises. You should remember Him all the time.

ਅਮਰਾ ਪੁਰ ਬਾਸਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਇਆ ਬਹੋਰੈ ਬਿਤ ॥੧੬੩॥
अमरा पुर बासा करहु हरि गइआ बहोरै बित ॥१६३॥
Amrā pur bāsā karahu har ga▫i▫ā bahorai biṯ. ||163||
You shall dwell in the city of immortality, and the Lord shall restore the wealth you lost. ||163||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਉ ਦੁਇ ਭਲੇ ਏਕੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਇਕੁ ਰਾਮੁ ॥
कबीर सेवा कउ दुइ भले एकु संतु इकु रामु ॥
Kabīr sevā ka▫o ḏu▫e bẖale ek sanṯ ik rām.
Kabir! It is good to perform selfless service for two - the Saints and the Lord.

ਰਾਮੁ ਜੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੋ ਸੰਤੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧੬੪॥
रामु जु दाता मुकति को संतु जपावै नामु ॥१६४॥
Rām jo ḏāṯā mukaṯ ko sanṯ japāvai nām. ||164||
The Lord is the Giver of liberation, and the Saint inspires us to chant the Naam. ||164||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਗਏ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਰੀ ਬਹੀਰ ॥
कबीर जिह मारगि पंडित गए पाछै परी बहीर ॥
Kabīr jih mārag pandiṯ ga▫e pācẖẖai parī bahīr.
Kabir! The crowds follow the path which the Pandits, the religious scholars, have taken.

ਇਕ ਅਵਘਟ ਘਾਟੀ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਤਿਹ ਚੜਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਕਬੀਰ ॥੧੬੫॥
इक अवघट घाटी राम की तिह चड़ि रहिओ कबीर ॥१६५॥
Ik avgẖat gẖātī rām kī ṯih cẖaṛ rahi▫o Kabīr. ||165||
There is a difficult and treacherous cliff on that path to the Lord; Kabir is climbing that cliff. ||165||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੇ ਦੋਖੇ ਮੂਆ ਚਾਲਤ ਕੁਲ ਕੀ ਕਾਨਿ ॥
कबीर दुनीआ के दोखे मूआ चालत कुल की कानि ॥
Kabīr ḏunī▫ā ke ḏokẖe mū▫ā cẖālaṯ kul kī kān.
Kabir! The mortal dies of his worldly troubles and pain, after worrying about his family.

ਤਬ ਕੁਲੁ ਕਿਸ ਕਾ ਲਾਜਸੀ ਜਬ ਲੇ ਧਰਹਿ ਮਸਾਨਿ ॥੧੬੬॥
तब कुलु किस का लाजसी जब ले धरहि मसानि ॥१६६॥
Ŧab kul kis kā lājsī jab le ḏẖarėh masān. ||166||
Whose family is dishonored, when he is placed on the funeral pyre? ||166||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਡੂਬਹਿਗੋ ਰੇ ਬਾਪੁਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਲੋਗਨ ਕੀ ਕਾਨਿ ॥
कबीर डूबहिगो रे बापुरे बहु लोगन की कानि ॥
Kabīr dūb▫higo re bāpure baho logan kī kān.
Kabir! You shall drown, you wretched being, from worrying about what other people think.

ਪਾਰੋਸੀ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹੂਆ ਤੂ ਅਪਨੇ ਭੀ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੧੬੭॥
पारोसी के जो हूआ तू अपने भी जानु ॥१६७॥
Pārosī ke jo hū▫ā ṯū apne bẖī jān. ||167||
You know that whatever happens to your neighbors, will also happen to you. ||167||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਭਲੀ ਮਧੂਕਰੀ ਨਾਨਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਜੁ ॥
कबीर भली मधूकरी नाना बिधि को नाजु ॥
Kabīr bẖalī maḏẖūkrī nānā biḏẖ ko nāj.
Kabir! Even dry bread, made of various grains, is good.
|
ਦਾਵਾ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬਡਾ ਦੇਸੁ ਬਡ ਰਾਜੁ ॥੧੬੮॥
दावा काहू को नही बडा देसु बड राजु ॥१६८॥
Ḏāvā kāhū ko nahī badā ḏes bad rāj. ||168||
No one brags about it, throughout the vast country and great empire. ||168||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਦਾਵੈ ਦਾਝਨੁ ਹੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਦਾਵੈ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਸੰਕ ॥
कबीर दावै दाझनु होतु है निरदावै रहै निसंक ॥
Kabīr ḏāvai ḏājẖan hoṯ hai nirḏāvai rahai nisank.
Kabir! Those who brag, shall burn. Those who do not brag remain carefree.
|
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਦਾਵੈ ਰਹੈ ਸੋ ਗਨੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੋ ਰੰਕ ॥੧੬੯॥
जो जनु निरदावै रहै सो गनै इंद्र सो रंक ॥१६९॥
Jo jan nirḏāvai rahai so ganai inḏar so rank. ||169||
That humble being who does not brag, looks upon the gods and the poor alike. ||169||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਲਿ ਸਮੁਹਾ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਭਰਾ ਪੀ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਈ ਨੀਰੁ ॥
कबीर पालि समुहा सरवरु भरा पी न सकै कोई नीरु ॥
Kabīr pāl samuhā sarvar bẖarā pī na sakai ko▫ī nīr.
Kabir! The pool is filled to overflowing, but no one can drink the water from it.
|
ਭਾਗ ਬਡੇ ਤੈ ਪਾਇਓ ਤੂੰ ਭਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਪੀਉ ਕਬੀਰ ॥੧੭੦॥
भाग बडे तै पाइओ तूं भरि भरि पीउ कबीर ॥१७०॥
Bẖāg bade ṯai pā▫i▫o ṯūʼn bẖar bẖar pī▫o Kabīr. ||170||
By great good fortune, you have found it; drink it handfuls, O Kabir. ||170||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਪਰਭਾਤੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਖਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਇਹੁ ਖਿਸੈ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥
कबीर परभाते तारे खिसहि तिउ इहु खिसै सरीरु ॥
Kabīr parbẖāṯe ṯāre kẖisėh ṯi▫o ih kẖisai sarīr.
Kabir! Just as the stars disappear at dawn, so shall this body disappear.

ਏ ਦੁਇ ਅਖਰ ਨਾ ਖਿਸਹਿ ਸੋ ਗਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਕਬੀਰੁ ॥੧੭੧॥
ए दुइ अखर ना खिसहि सो गहि रहिओ कबीरु ॥१७१॥
Ė ḏu▫e akẖar nā kẖisėh so gėh rahi▫o Kabīr. ||171||
Only the letters of God’s Name do not disappear; Kabir holds these tight. ||171||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋਠੀ ਕਾਠ ਕੀ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਆਗਿ ॥
कबीर कोठी काठ की दह दिसि लागी आगि ॥
Kabīr koṯẖī kāṯẖ kī ḏah ḏis lāgī āg.
Kabir! The wooden house is burning on all sides.
|
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਲਿ ਮੂਏ ਮੂਰਖ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੧੭੨॥
पंडित पंडित जलि मूए मूरख उबरे भागि ॥१७२॥
Pandiṯ pandiṯ jal mū▫e mūrakẖ ubre bẖāg. ||172||
The Pandits, the religious scholars, have been burnt to death, while the illiterate ones run to safety. ||172||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਸਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੁ ਕਾਗਦ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਹਾਇ ॥
कबीर संसा दूरि करु कागद देह बिहाइ ॥
Kabīr sansā ḏūr kar kāgaḏ ḏeh bihā▫e.
Kabir! Give up your skepticism; let your papers float away.
|
ਬਾਵਨ ਅਖਰ ਸੋਧਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧੭੩॥
बावन अखर सोधि कै हरि चरनी चितु लाइ ॥१७३॥
Bāvan akẖar soḏẖ kai har cẖarnī cẖiṯ lā▫e. ||173||
Find the essence of the letters of the alphabet, and focus your consciousness on the Lord. ||173||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤੁ ਨ ਛਾਡੈ ਸੰਤਈ ਜਉ ਕੋਟਿਕ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਅਸੰਤ ॥
कबीर संतु न छाडै संतई जउ कोटिक मिलहि असंत ॥
Kabīr sanṯ na cẖẖādai sanṯ▫ī ja▫o kotik milėh asanṯ.
Kabir! The Saint does not forsake his Saintly nature, even though he meets with millions of evil-doers.

ਮਲਿਆਗਰੁ ਭੁਯੰਗਮ ਬੇਢਿਓ ਤ ਸੀਤਲਤਾ ਨ ਤਜੰਤ ॥੧੭੪॥
मलिआगरु भुयंगम बेढिओ त सीतलता न तजंत ॥१७४॥
Mali▫āgar bẖuyangam bedẖi▫o ṯa sīṯalṯā na ṯajanṯ. ||174||
Even when sandalwood is surrounded by snakes, it does not give up its cooling fragrance. ||174||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
कबीर मनु सीतलु भइआ पाइआ ब्रहम गिआनु ॥
Kabīr man sīṯal bẖa▫i▫ā pā▫i▫ā barahm gi▫ān.
Kabir! My mind is cooled and soothed; I have become God-conscious.

ਜਿਨਿ ਜੁਆਲਾ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਰਿਆ ਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਉਦਕ ਸਮਾਨਿ ॥੧੭੫॥
जिनि जुआला जगु जारिआ सु जन के उदक समानि ॥१७५॥
Jin ju▫ālā jag jāri▫ā so jan ke uḏak samān. ||175||
The fire which has burnt the world is like water to the Lord’s humble servant. ||175||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
कबीर सारी सिरजनहार की जानै नाही कोइ ॥
Kabīr sārī sirjanhār kī jānai nāhī ko▫e.
Kabir! No one knows the Play of the Creator Lord.

ਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ਆਪਨ ਧਨੀ ਕੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦੀਵਾਨੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੧੭੬॥
कै जानै आपन धनी कै दासु दीवानी होइ ॥१७६॥
Kai jānai āpan ḏẖanī kai ḏās ḏīvānī ho▫e. ||176||
Only the Lord Himself and the slaves at His Court understand it. ||176||
|
ਕਬੀਰ ਭਲੀ ਭਈ ਜੋ ਭਉ ਪਰਿਆ ਦਿਸਾ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਭੂਲਿ ॥
कबीर भली भई जो भउ परिआ दिसा गई सभ भूलि ॥
Kabīr bẖalī bẖa▫ī jo bẖa▫o pari▫ā ḏisā ga▫īʼn sabẖ bẖūl.
Kabir! It is good that I feel the Fear of God; I have forgotten everything else.
