ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕੀ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੧੪੧॥
जिउ जिउ भगति कबीर की तिउ तिउ राम निवास ॥१४१॥
Ji▫o ji▫o bẖagaṯ Kabīr kī ṯi▫o ṯi▫o rām nivās. ||141||
The more Kabeer worships Him, the more the Lord abides within his mind. ||141||

ਕਬੀਰ ਗਹਗਚਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਕੈ ਕਾਂਠੈ ਰਹਿ ਗਇਓ ਰਾਮੁ
कबीर गहगचि परिओ कुट्मब कै कांठै रहि गइओ रामु ॥
Kabīr gahgacẖ pari▫o kutamb kai kāʼnṯẖai rėh ga▫i▫o rām.
Kabeer, the mortal has fallen into the grip of family life, and the Lord has been set aside.

ਆਇ ਪਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੇ ਬੀਚਹਿ ਧੂਮਾ ਧਾਮ ॥੧੪੨॥
आइ परे धरम राइ के बीचहि धूमा धाम ॥१४२॥
Ā▫e pare ḏẖaram rā▫e ke bīcẖėh ḏẖūmā ḏẖām. ||142||
The messengers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma descend upon the mortal, in the midst of all his pomp and ceremony. ||142||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਕਤ ਤੇ ਸੂਕਰ ਭਲਾ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਛਾ ਗਾਉ
कबीर साकत ते सूकर भला राखै आछा गाउ ॥
Kabīr sākaṯ ṯe sūkar bẖalā rākẖai ācẖẖā gā▫o.
Kabeer, even a pig is better than the faithless cynic; at least the pig keeps the village clean.

ਉਹੁ ਸਾਕਤੁ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਮਰਿ ਗਇਆ ਕੋਇ ਲੈਹੈ ਨਾਉ ॥੧੪੩॥
उहु साकतु बपुरा मरि गइआ कोइ न लैहै नाउ ॥१४३॥
Uho sākaṯ bapurā mar ga▫i▫ā ko▫e na laihai nā▫o. ||143||
When the wretched, faithless cynic dies, no one even mentions his name. ||143||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਜੋਰਿ ਕੈ ਜੋਰੇ ਲਾਖ ਕਰੋਰਿ
कबीर कउडी कउडी जोरि कै जोरे लाख करोरि ॥
Kabīr ka▫udī ka▫udī jor kai jore lākẖ karor.
Kabeer, the mortal gathers wealth, shell by shell, accumulating thousands and millions.

ਚਲਤੀ ਬਾਰ ਕਛੁ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਲਈ ਲੰਗੋਟੀ ਤੋਰਿ ॥੧੪੪॥
चलती बार न कछु मिलिओ लई लंगोटी तोरि ॥१४४॥
Cẖalṯī bār na kacẖẖ mili▫o la▫ī langotī ṯor. ||144||
But when the time of his departure comes, he takes nothing at all with him. He is even stripped of his loin-cloth. ||144||

ਕਬੀਰ ਬੈਸਨੋ ਹੂਆ ਕਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਮਾਲਾ ਮੇਲੀਂ ਚਾਰਿ
कबीर बैसनो हूआ त किआ भइआ माला मेलीं चारि ॥
Kabīr baisno hū▫ā ṯa ki▫ā bẖa▫i▫ā mālā melīʼn cẖār.
Kabeer, what good is it to become a devotee of Vishnu, and wear four malas?

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬਾਰਹਾ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਭਰੀ ਭੰਗਾਰ ॥੧੪੫॥
बाहरि कंचनु बारहा भीतरि भरी भंगार ॥१४५॥
Bāhar kancẖan bārhā bẖīṯar bẖarī bẖangār. ||145||
On the outside, he may look like pure gold, but on the inside, he is stuffed with dust. ||145||

ਕਬੀਰ ਰੋੜਾ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੁ ਬਾਟ ਕਾ ਤਜਿ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ
कबीर रोड़ा होइ रहु बाट का तजि मन का अभिमानु ॥
Kabīr roṛā ho▫e rahu bāt kā ṯaj man kā abẖimān.
Kabeer, let yourself be a pebble on the path; abandon your egotistical pride.

ਐਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਾਹਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੧੪੬॥
ऐसा कोई दासु होइ ताहि मिलै भगवानु ॥१४६॥
Aisā ko▫ī ḏās ho▫e ṯāhi milai bẖagvān. ||146||
Such a humble slave shall meet the Lord God. ||146||

ਕਬੀਰ ਰੋੜਾ ਹੂਆ ਕਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਪੰਥੀ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੇਇ
कबीर रोड़ा हूआ त किआ भइआ पंथी कउ दुखु देइ ॥
Kabīr roṛā hū▫ā ṯa ki▫ā bẖa▫i▫ā panthī ka▫o ḏukẖ ḏe▫e.
Kabeer, what good would it be, to be a pebble? It would only hurt the traveler on the path.

ਐਸਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਉ ਧਰਨੀ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਹ ॥੧੪੭॥
ऐसा तेरा दासु है जिउ धरनी महि खेह ॥१४७॥
Aisā ṯerā ḏās hai ji▫o ḏẖarnī mėh kẖeh. ||147||
Your slave, O Lord, is like the dust of the earth. ||147||

ਕਬੀਰ ਖੇਹ ਹੂਈ ਤਉ ਕਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਜਉ ਉਡਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਅੰਗ
कबीर खेह हूई तउ किआ भइआ जउ उडि लागै अंग ॥
Kabīr kẖeh hū▫ī ṯa▫o ki▫ā bẖa▫i▫ā ja▫o ud lāgai ang.
Kabeer, what then, if one could become dust? It is blown up by the wind, and sticks to the body.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਐਸਾ ਚਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਨੀ ਸਰਬੰਗ ॥੧੪੮॥
हरि जनु ऐसा चाहीऐ जिउ पानी सरबंग ॥१४८॥
Har jan aisā cẖāhī▫ai ji▫o pānī sarbang. ||148||
The humble servant of the Lord should be like water, which cleans everything. ||148||

ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਨੀ ਹੂਆ ਕਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਸੀਰਾ ਤਾਤਾ ਹੋਇ
कबीर पानी हूआ त किआ भइआ सीरा ताता होइ ॥
Kabīr pānī hū▫ā ṯa ki▫ā bẖa▫i▫ā sīrā ṯāṯā ho▫e.
Kabeer, what then, if one could become water? It becomes cold, then hot.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਐਸਾ ਚਾਹੀਐ ਜੈਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਹੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੧੪੯॥
हरि जनु ऐसा चाहीऐ जैसा हरि ही होइ ॥१४९॥
Har jan aisā cẖāhī▫ai jaisā har hī ho▫e. ||149||
The humble servant of the Lord should be just like the Lord. ||149||

ਊਚ ਭਵਨ ਕਨਕਾਮਨੀ ਸਿਖਰਿ ਧਜਾ ਫਹਰਾਇ
ऊच भवन कनकामनी सिखरि धजा फहराइ ॥
Ūcẖ bẖavan kankāmnī sikẖar ḏẖajā fėhrā▫e.
The banners wave above the lofty mansions, filled with gold and beautiful women.

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਭਲੀ ਮਧੂਕਰੀ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧੫੦॥
ता ते भली मधूकरी संतसंगि गुन गाइ ॥१५०॥
Ŧā ṯe bẖalī maḏẖūkrī saṯsang gun gā▫e. ||150||
But better than these is dry bread, if one sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord in the Society of the Saints. ||150||

ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਟਨ ਤੇ ਊਜਰੁ ਭਲਾ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤ ਜਿਹ ਠਾਇ
कबीर पाटन ते ऊजरु भला राम भगत जिह ठाइ ॥
Kabīr pātan ṯe ūjar bẖalā rām bẖagaṯ jih ṯẖā▫e.
Kabeer, the wilderness is better than a city, if the Lord's devotees live there.

ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਜਮ ਪੁਰੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਂਇ ॥੧੫੧॥
राम सनेही बाहरा जम पुरु मेरे भांइ ॥१५१॥
Rām sanehī bāhrā jam pur mere bẖāʼn▫e. ||151||
Without my Beloved Lord, it is like the City of Death for me. ||151||

ਕਬੀਰ ਗੰਗ ਜਮੁਨ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੁੰਨ ਕੇ ਘਾਟ
कबीर गंग जमुन के अंतरे सहज सुंन के घाट ॥
Kabīr gang jamun ke anṯre sahj sunn ke gẖāt.
Kabeer, between the Ganges and Jamunaa Rivers, on the shore of Celestial Silence,

ਤਹਾ ਕਬੀਰੈ ਮਟੁ ਕੀਆ ਖੋਜਤ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਬਾਟ ॥੧੫੨॥
तहा कबीरै मटु कीआ खोजत मुनि जन बाट ॥१५२॥
Ŧahā kabīrai mat kī▫ā kẖojaṯ mun jan bāt. ||152||
there, Kabeer has made his home. The silent sages and the humble servants of the Lord search for the way to get there. ||152||

ਕਬੀਰ ਜੈਸੀ ਉਪਜੀ ਪੇਡ ਤੇ ਜਉ ਤੈਸੀ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਓੜਿ
कबीर जैसी उपजी पेड ते जउ तैसी निबहै ओड़ि ॥
Kabīr jaisī upjī ped ṯe ja▫o ṯaisī nibhai oṛ.
Kabeer, if the mortal continues to love the Lord in the end, as he pledged in the beginning,

ਹੀਰਾ ਕਿਸ ਕਾ ਬਾਪੁਰਾ ਪੁਜਹਿ ਰਤਨ ਕਰੋੜਿ ॥੧੫੩॥
हीरा किस का बापुरा पुजहि न रतन करोड़ि ॥१५३॥
Hīrā kis kā bāpurā pujėh na raṯan karoṛ. ||153||
no poor diamond, not even millions of jewels, can equal him. ||153||

ਕਬੀਰਾ ਏਕੁ ਅਚੰਭਉ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਹੀਰਾ ਹਾਟ ਬਿਕਾਇ
कबीरा एकु अच्मभउ देखिओ हीरा हाट बिकाइ ॥
Kabīrā ek acẖambẖa▫o ḏekẖi▫o hīrā hāt bikā▫e.
Kabeer, I saw a strange and wonderful thing. A jewel was being sold in a store.

ਬਨਜਨਹਾਰੇ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕਉਡੀ ਬਦਲੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੫੪॥
बनजनहारे बाहरा कउडी बदलै जाइ ॥१५४॥
Banjanhāre bāhrā ka▫udī baḏlai jā▫e. ||154||
Because there was no buyer, it was going in exchange for a shell. ||154||

ਕਬੀਰਾ ਜਹਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਤਹ ਧਰਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਤਹ ਪਾਪੁ
कबीरा जहा गिआनु तह धरमु है जहा झूठु तह पापु ॥
Kabīrā jahā gi▫ān ṯah ḏẖaram hai jahā jẖūṯẖ ṯah pāp.
Kabeer, where there is spiritual wisdom, there is righteousness and Dharma. Where there is falsehood, there is sin.

ਜਹਾ ਲੋਭੁ ਤਹ ਕਾਲੁ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਖਿਮਾ ਤਹ ਆਪਿ ॥੧੫੫॥
जहा लोभु तह कालु है जहा खिमा तह आपि ॥१५५॥
Jahā lobẖ ṯah kāl hai jahā kẖimā ṯah āp. ||155||
Where there is greed, there is death. Where there is forgiveness, there is God Himself. ||155||

ਕਬੀਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਤਜੀ ਕਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਜਉ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਜਿਆ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਇ
कबीर माइआ तजी त किआ भइआ जउ मानु तजिआ नही जाइ ॥
Kabīr mā▫i▫ā ṯajī ṯa ki▫ā bẖa▫i▫ā ja▫o mān ṯaji▫ā nahī jā▫e.
Kabeer, what good is it to give up Maya, if the mortal does not give up his pride?

ਮਾਨ ਮੁਨੀ ਮੁਨਿਵਰ ਗਲੇ ਮਾਨੁ ਸਭੈ ਕਉ ਖਾਇ ॥੧੫੬॥
मान मुनी मुनिवर गले मानु सभै कउ खाइ ॥१५६॥
Mān munī munivar gale mān sabẖai ka▫o kẖā▫e. ||156||
Even the silent sages and seers are destroyed by pride; pride eats up everything. ||156||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਬਦੁ ਜੁ ਬਾਹਿਆ ਏਕੁ
कबीर साचा सतिगुरु मै मिलिआ सबदु जु बाहिआ एकु ॥
Kabīr sācẖā saṯgur mai mili▫ā sabaḏ jo bāhi▫ā ek.
Kabeer, the True Guru has met me; He aimed the Arrow of the Shabad at me.

ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਭੁਇ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਰਿਆ ਕਲੇਜੇ ਛੇਕੁ ॥੧੫੭॥
लागत ही भुइ मिलि गइआ परिआ कलेजे छेकु ॥१५७॥
Lāgaṯ hī bẖu▫e mil ga▫i▫ā pari▫ā kaleje cẖẖek. ||157||
As soon as it struck me, I fell to the ground with a hole in my heart. ||157||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੈ ਜਉ ਸਿਖਾ ਮਹਿ ਚੂਕ
कबीर साचा सतिगुरु किआ करै जउ सिखा महि चूक ॥
Kabīr sācẖā saṯgur ki▫ā karai ja▫o sikẖā mėh cẖūk.
Kabeer, what can the True Guru do, when His Sikhs are at fault?

ਅੰਧੇ ਏਕ ਲਾਗਈ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਂਸੁ ਬਜਾਈਐ ਫੂਕ ॥੧੫੮॥
अंधे एक न लागई जिउ बांसु बजाईऐ फूक ॥१५८॥
Anḏẖe ek na lāg▫ī ji▫o bāʼns bajā▫ī▫ai fūk. ||158||
The blind do not take in any of His Teachings; it is as useless as blowing into bamboo. ||158||

ਕਬੀਰ ਹੈ ਗੈ ਬਾਹਨ ਸਘਨ ਘਨ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤੀ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ
कबीर है गै बाहन सघन घन छत्रपती की नारि ॥
Kabīr hai gai bāhan sagẖan gẖan cẖẖaṯarpaṯī kī nār.
Kabeer, the wife of the king has all sorts of horses, elephants and carriages.
