ਜਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
Jah sevak gopāl gusā▫ī.
where the servants of the Lord of the World abide.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
Parabẖ suparsan bẖa▫e gopāl.
God, the Lord of the World, is pleased and satisfied with me.
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਬਿਤਾਲ ॥੫॥
Janam janam ke mite biṯāl. ||5||
My disharmony with Him of so many lifetimes is ended. ||5||
|
ਹੋਮ ਜਗ ਉਰਧ ਤਪ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
Hom jag uraḏẖ ṯap pūjā.
Burnt offerings, sacred feasts, intense meditations with the body upside-down, worship services
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰੀਜਾ ॥
Kot ṯirath isnān karījā.
and taking millions of cleansing baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage
|
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਨਿਮਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Cẖaran kamal nimakẖ riḏai ḏẖāre.
- the merits of all these are obtained by enshrining the Lord's Lotus Feet within the heart, even for an instant.

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜਪਤ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰੇ ॥੬॥
Gobinḏ japaṯ sabẖ kāraj sāre. ||6||
Meditating on the Lord of the Universe, all one's affairs are resolved. ||6||

ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
Ūcẖe ṯe ūcẖā parabẖ thān.
God's Place is the highest of the high.
|
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਲਾਵਹਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
Har jan lāvėh sahj ḏẖi▫ān.
The Lord's humble servants intuitively focus their meditation on Him.
|
ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਬਾਂਛਉ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
Ḏās ḏāsan kī bāʼncẖẖa▫o ḏẖūr.
I long for the dust of the slaves of the Lord's slaves.
|
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੭॥
Sarab kalā parīṯam bẖarpūr. ||7||
My Beloved Lord is overflowing with all powers. ||7||
|
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
Māṯ piṯā har parīṯam nerā.
My Beloved Lord, my Mother and Father, is always near.
|
ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
Mīṯ sājan bẖarvāsā ṯerā.
O my Friend and Companion, You are my Trusted Support.
|
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ॥
Kar gėh līne apune ḏās.
God takes His slaves by the hand, and makes them His Own.
|
ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥੮॥੩॥੨॥੭॥੧੨॥
Jap jīvai Nānak guṇṯās. ||8||3||2||7||12||
Nanak lives by meditating on the Lord, the Treasure of Virtue. ||8||3||2||7||12||

ਮਰਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਕਾ ਨਾਸੀ ॥
Maran jīvan kī sankā nāsī.
My anxious fears of death and rebirth have been taken away.

ਆਪਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਹਜ ਪਰਗਾਸੀ ॥੧॥
Āpan rang sahj pargāsī. ||1||
The Celestial Lord has shown His Love for me. ||1||
|
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅੰਧਿਆਰਾ ॥
Pargatī joṯ miti▫ā anḏẖi▫ārā.
The Divine Light has dawned, and darkness has been dispelled.
|
ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Rām raṯan pā▫i▫ā karaṯ bīcẖārā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Contemplating the Lord, I have obtained the Jewel of His Name. ||1||Pause||

ਜਹ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਇਆਨਾ ॥
Jah anand ḏukẖ ḏūr pa▫i▫ānā.
Pain runs far away from that place where there is bliss.
|
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਕੁ ਲਿਵ ਤਤੁ ਲੁਕਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
Man mānak liv ṯaṯ lukānā. ||2||
The jewel of the mind is focused and attuned to the essence of reality. ||2||
|
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
Jo kicẖẖ ho▫ā so ṯerā bẖāṇā.
Whatever happens is by the Pleasure of Your Will.
|
ਜੋ ਇਵ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥੩॥
Jo iv būjẖai so sahj samāṇā. ||3||
Whoever understands this, is intuitively merged in the Lord. ||3||

ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ਖੀਣਾ ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr kilbikẖ ga▫e kẖīṇā.
Says Kabeer, my sins have been obliterated.

ਮਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਲੀਣਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
Man bẖa▫i▫ā jagjīvan līṇā. ||4||1||
My mind has merged into the Lord, the Life of the World. ||4||1||

ਅਲਹੁ ਏਕੁ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਬਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਮੁਲਖੁ ਕਿਸੁ ਕੇਰਾ ॥
Alhu ek masīṯ basaṯ hai avar mulakẖ kis kerā.
If the Lord Allah lives only in the mosque, then to whom does the rest of the world belong?

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਦੁਹ ਮਹਿ ਤਤੁ ਨ ਹੇਰਾ ॥੧॥
Hinḏū mūraṯ nām nivāsī ḏuh mėh ṯaṯ na herā. ||1||
According to the Hindus, the Lord's Name abides in the idol, but there is no truth in either of these claims. ||1||
|
ਅਲਹ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਵਉ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਈ ॥
Alah rām jīva▫o ṯere nā▫ī.
O Allah, O Raam, I live by Your Name.

ਤੂ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਹਰਾਮਤਿ ਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ŧū kar mihrāmaṯ sā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Please show mercy to me, O Master. ||1||Pause||

ਦਖਨ ਦੇਸਿ ਹਰੀ ਕਾ ਬਾਸਾ ਪਛਿਮਿ ਅਲਹ ਮੁਕਾਮਾ ॥
Ḏakẖan ḏes harī kā bāsā pacẖẖim alah mukāmā.
The God of the Hindus lives in the southern lands, and the God of the Muslims lives in the west.

ਦਿਲ ਮਹਿ ਖੋਜਿ ਦਿਲੈ ਦਿਲਿ ਖੋਜਹੁ ਏਹੀ ਠਉਰ ਮੁਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥
Ḏil mėh kẖoj ḏilai ḏil kẖojahu ehī ṯẖa▫ur mukāmā. ||2||
So search in your heart - look deep into your heart of hearts; this is the home and the place where God lives. ||2||

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਨ ਗਿਆਸ ਕਰਹਿ ਚਉਬੀਸਾ ਕਾਜੀ ਮਹ ਰਮਜਾਨਾ ॥
Barahman gi▫ās karahi cẖa▫ubīsā kājī mah ramjānā.
The Brahmins observe twenty-four fasts during the year, and the Muslims fast during the month of Ramadaan.

ਗਿਆਰਹ ਮਾਸ ਪਾਸ ਕੈ ਰਾਖੇ ਏਕੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
Gi▫ārėh mās pās kai rākẖe ekai māhi niḏẖānā. ||3||
The Muslims set aside eleven months, and claim that the treasure is only in the one month. ||3||
|
ਕਹਾ ਉਡੀਸੇ ਮਜਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਨਾਂਏਂ ॥
Kahā udīse majan kī▫ā ki▫ā masīṯ sir nāʼn▫eʼn.
What is the use of bathing at Orissa? Why do the Muslims bow their heads in the mosque?

ਦਿਲ ਮਹਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਨਿਵਾਜ ਗੁਜਾਰੈ ਕਿਆ ਹਜ ਕਾਬੈ ਜਾਂਏਂ ॥੪॥
Ḏil mėh kapat nivāj gujārai ki▫ā haj kābai jāʼn▫eʼn. ||4||
If someone has deception in his heart, what good is it for him to utter prayers? And what good is it for him to go on pilgrimage to Mecca? ||4||
|
ਏਤੇ ਅਉਰਤ ਮਰਦਾ ਸਾਜੇ ਏ ਸਭ ਰੂਪ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥
Ėṯe a▫uraṯ marḏā sāje e sabẖ rūp ṯumĥāre.
You fashioned all these men and women, Lord. All these are Your Forms.

ਕਬੀਰੁ ਪੂੰਗਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਅਲਹ ਕਾ ਸਭ ਗੁਰ ਪੀਰ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
Kabīr pūngrā rām alah kā sabẖ gur pīr hamāre. ||5||
Kabeer is the child of God, Allah, Raam. All the Gurus and prophets are mine. ||5||
|
ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਨਰ ਨਰਵੈ ਪਰਹੁ ਏਕ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
Kahaṯ Kabīr sunhu nar narvai parahu ek kī sarnā.
Says Kabeer, listen, O men and women: seek the Sanctuary of the One.

ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਨਿਹਚੈ ਤਰਨਾ ॥੬॥੨॥
Keval nām japahu re parānī ṯab hī nihcẖai ṯarnā. ||6||2||
Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O mortals, and you shall surely be carried across. ||6||2||

ਅਵਲਿ ਅਲਹ ਨੂਰੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਬੰਦੇ ॥
Aval alah nūr upā▫i▫ā kuḏraṯ ke sabẖ banḏe.
First, Allah created the Light; then, by His Creative Power, He made all mortal beings.

ਏਕ ਨੂਰ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਕਉਨ ਭਲੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਦੇ ॥੧॥
Ėk nūr ṯe sabẖ jag upji▫ā ka▫un bẖale ko manḏe. ||1||
From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad? ||1||
