ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
आठ पहर पारब्रहमु धिआई सदा सदा गुन गाइआ ॥
Āṯẖ pahar pārbarahm ḏẖi▫ā▫ī saḏā saḏā gun gā▫i▫ā.
Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on the Supreme Lord God; I sing His Glorious Praises forever and ever.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
कहु नानक मेरे पूरे मनोरथ पारब्रहमु गुरु पाइआ ॥४॥४॥
Kaho Nānak mere pūre manorath pārbarahm gur pā▫i▫ā. ||4||4||
Says Nanak, my desires have been fulfilled; I have found my Guru, the Supreme Lord God. ||4||4||

ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Parbẖāṯī mėhlā 5.
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ॥
सिमरत नामु किलबिख सभि नासे ॥
Simraṯ nām kilbikẖ sabẖ nāse.
Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, all my sins have been erased.
|
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
सचु नामु गुरि दीनी रासे ॥
Sacẖ nām gur ḏīnī rāse.
The Guru has blessed me with the Capital of the True Name.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੇ ॥
प्रभ की दरगह सोभावंते ॥
Parabẖ kī ḏargėh sobẖāvanṯe.
God's servants are embellished and exalted in His Court;
|
ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹੰਤੇ ॥੧॥
सेवक सेवि सदा सोहंते ॥१॥
Sevak sev saḏā sohanṯe. ||1||
serving Him, they look beauteous forever. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
हरि हरि नामु जपहु मेरे भाई ॥
Har har nām japahu mere bẖā▫ī.
Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सगले रोग दोख सभि बिनसहि अगिआनु अंधेरा मन ते जाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sagle rog ḏokẖ sabẖ binsahi agi▫ān anḏẖerā man ṯe jā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
All sickness and sin shall be erased; your mind shall be rid of the darkness of ignorance. ||1||Pause||

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੀਤ ॥
जनम मरन गुरि राखे मीत ॥
Janam maran gur rākẖe mīṯ.
The Guru has saved me from death and rebirth, O friend;
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
हरि के नाम सिउ लागी प्रीति ॥
Har ke nām si▫o lāgī parīṯ.
I am in love with the Name of the Lord.
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਕਲੇਸ ॥
कोटि जनम के गए कलेस ॥
Kot janam ke ga▫e kales.
The suffering of millions of incarnations is gone;
|
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਹੋਸ ॥੨॥
जो तिसु भावै सो भल होस ॥२॥
Jo ṯis bẖāvai so bẖal hos. ||2||
whatever pleases Him is good. ||2||
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
तिसु गुर कउ हउ सद बलि जाई ॥
Ŧis gur ka▫o ha▫o saḏ bal jā▫ī.
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru;
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
जिसु प्रसादि हरि नामु धिआई ॥
Jis parsāḏ har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫ī.
by His Grace, I meditate on the Lord's Name.
|
ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
ऐसा गुरु पाईऐ वडभागी ॥
Aisā gur pā▫ī▫ai vadbẖāgī.
By great good fortune, such a Guru is found;
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੩॥
जिसु मिलते राम लिव लागी ॥३॥
Jis milṯe rām liv lāgī. ||3||
meeting Him, one is lovingly attuned to the Lord. ||3||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
करि किरपा पारब्रहम सुआमी ॥
Kar kirpā pārbarahm su▫āmī.
Please be merciful, O Supreme Lord God, O Lord and Master,
|
ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
सगल घटा के अंतरजामी ॥
Sagal gẖatā ke anṯarjāmī.
Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
आठ पहर अपुनी लिव लाइ ॥
Āṯẖ pahar apunī liv lā▫e.
Twenty-four hours a day, I am lovingly attuned to You.
|
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
जनु नानकु प्रभ की सरनाइ ॥४॥५॥
Jan Nānak parabẖ kī sarnā▫e. ||4||5||
Servant Nanak has come to the Sanctuary of God. ||4||5||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਏ ॥
करि किरपा अपुने प्रभि कीए ॥
Kar kirpā apune parabẖ kī▫e.
In His Mercy, God has made me His Own.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਨ ਕਉ ਦੀਏ ॥
हरि का नामु जपन कउ दीए ॥
Har kā nām japan ka▫o ḏī▫e.
He has blessed me with the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
|
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਬਿੰਦ ॥
आठ पहर गुन गाइ गुबिंद ॥
Āṯẖ pahar gun gā▫e gubinḏ.
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.

ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਉਤਰੀ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
भै बिनसे उतरी सभ चिंद ॥१॥
Bẖai binse uṯrī sabẖ cẖinḏ. ||1||
Fear is dispelled, and all anxiety has been alleviated. ||1||
|
ਉਬਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ॥
उबरे सतिगुर चरनी लागि ॥
Ubre saṯgur cẖarnī lāg.
I have been saved, touching the Feet of the True Guru.
|
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮੀਠਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जो गुरु कहै सोई भल मीठा मन की मति तिआगि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jo gur kahai so▫ī bẖal mīṯẖā man kī maṯ ṯi▫āg. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Whatever the Guru says is good and sweet to me. I have renounced the intellectual wisdom of my mind. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
मनि तनि वसिआ हरि प्रभु सोई ॥
Man ṯan vasi▫ā har parabẖ so▫ī.
That Lord God abides within my mind and body.
|
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
कलि कलेस किछु बिघनु न होई ॥
Kal kales kicẖẖ bigẖan na ho▫ī.
There are no conflicts, pains or obstacles.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
सदा सदा प्रभु जीअ कै संगि ॥
Saḏā saḏā parabẖ jī▫a kai sang.
Forever and ever, God is with my soul.
|
ਉਤਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
उतरी मैलु नाम कै रंगि ॥२॥
Uṯrī mail nām kai rang. ||2||
Filth and pollution are washed away by the Love of the Name. ||2||
|
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
चरन कमल सिउ लागो पिआरु ॥
Cẖaran kamal si▫o lāgo pi▫ār.
I am in love with the Lotus Feet of the Lord;
|
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
बिनसे काम क्रोध अहंकार ॥
Binse kām kroḏẖ ahaʼnkār.
I am no longer consumed by sexual desire, anger and egotism.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਨ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥
प्रभ मिलन का मारगु जानां ॥
Parabẖ milan kā mārag jānāʼn.
Now, I know the way to meet God.
|
ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਂ ॥੩॥
भाइ भगति हरि सिउ मनु मानां ॥३॥
Bẖā▫e bẖagaṯ har si▫o man mānāʼn. ||3||
Through loving devotional worship, my mind is pleased and appeased with the Lord. ||3||
|
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
सुणि सजण संत मीत सुहेले ॥
Suṇ sajaṇ sanṯ mīṯ suhele.
Listen, O friends, Saints, my exalted companions.
|
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥
नामु रतनु हरि अगह अतोले ॥
Nām raṯan har agah aṯole.
The Jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is unfathomable and immeasurable.
|
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
सदा सदा प्रभु गुण निधि गाईऐ ॥
Saḏā saḏā parabẖ guṇ niḏẖ gā▫ī▫ai.
Forever and ever, sing the Glories of God, the Treasure of Virtue.
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੬॥
कहु नानक वडभागी पाईऐ ॥४॥६॥
Kaho Nānak vadbẖāgī pā▫ī▫ai. ||4||6||
Says Nanak, by great good fortune, He is found. ||4||6||

ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਸੇਈ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
से धनवंत सेई सचु साहा ॥
Se ḏẖanvanṯ se▫ī sacẖ sāhā.
They are wealthy, and they are the true merchants,
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥੧॥
हरि की दरगह नामु विसाहा ॥१॥
Har kī ḏargėh nām visāhā. ||1||
who have the credit of the Naam in the Court of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੀਤ ॥
हरि हरि नामु जपहु मन मीत ॥
Har har nām japahu man mīṯ.
So chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in your mind, my friends.
|
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुरु पूरा पाईऐ वडभागी निरमल पूरन रीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur pūrā pā▫ī▫ai vadbẖāgī nirmal pūran rīṯ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Perfect Guru is found by great good fortune, and then one's lifestyle becomes perfect and immaculate. ||1||Pause||
|
ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਭੁ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥
पाइआ लाभु वजी वाधाई ॥
Pā▫i▫ā lābẖ vajī vāḏẖā▫ī.
They earn the profit, and the congratulations pour in;
|
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥
संत प्रसादि हरि के गुन गाई ॥२॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ har ke gun gā▫ī. ||2||
by the Grace of the Saints, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
|
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
सफल जनमु जीवन परवाणु ॥
Safal janam jīvan parvāṇ.
Their lives are fruitful and prosperous, and their birth is approved;
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
गुर परसादी हरि रंगु माणु ॥३॥
Gur parsādī har rang māṇ. ||3||
by Guru's Grace, they enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||3||
|
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
बिनसे काम क्रोध अहंकार ॥
Binse kām kroḏẖ ahaʼnkār.
Sexuality, anger and egotism are wiped away;
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक गुरमुखि उतरहि पारि ॥४॥७॥
Nānak gurmukẖ uṯrėh pār. ||4||7||
O Nanak, as Gurmukh, they are carried across to the other shore. ||4||7||

The Guru is Perfect, and Perfect is His Power.
