ਪੂਰਾ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पूरा भागु होवै मुखि मसतकि सदा हरि के गुण गाहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pūrā bẖāg hovai mukẖ masṯak saḏā har ke guṇ gāhi. ||1|| rahā▫o.
If perfect destiny is writ on thy face and forehead, then sing thou ever the praise of the God. Pause.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ॥
अम्रित नामु भोजनु हरि देइ ॥
Amriṯ nām bẖojan har ḏe▫e.
God alone gives the fare of the Name-Nectar.

ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਲੇਇ ॥
कोटि मधे कोई विरला लेइ ॥
Kot maḏẖe ko▫ī virlā le▫e.
Out of millions, rare is the one, who attains unto it,
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਅਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥
जिस नो अपणी नदरि करेइ ॥१॥
Jis no apṇī naḏar kare▫i. ||1||
he is the one, on whom He shows His mercy.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਵਸਾਇ ॥
गुर के चरण मन माहि वसाइ ॥
Gur ke cẖaraṇ man māhi vasā▫e.
Whosoever enshrines the Guru's feet in his mind,
|
ਦੁਖੁ ਅਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
दुखु अन्हेरा अंदरहु जाइ ॥
Ḏukẖ anĥerā anḏrahu jā▫e.
he is rid of pain and inner darkness,
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
आपे साचा लए मिलाइ ॥२॥
Āpe sācẖā la▫e milā▫e. ||2||
and him, the True Lord unites with Himself.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
गुर की बाणी सिउ लाइ पिआरु ॥
Gur kī baṇī si▫o lā▫e pi▫ār.
Embrace thou love for the Guru's word.
|
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਏਹੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
ऐथै ओथै एहु अधारु ॥
Aithai othai ehu aḏẖār.
Here and hereafter, this alone is thy support.
|
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
आपे देवै सिरजनहारु ॥३॥
Āpe ḏevai sirjanhār. ||3||
The Creator, of Himself, blesses man with the love of the Guru's word.
|
ਸਚਾ ਮਨਾਏ ਅਪਣਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
सचा मनाए अपणा भाणा ॥
Sacẖā manā▫e apṇā bẖāṇā.
Whom the True Lord makes one to submit to His will,
|
ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੋੁਜਾਣਾ ॥
सोई भगतु सुघड़ु सोजाणा ॥
So▫ī bẖagaṯ sugẖaṛ sojāṇā.
he alone is an accomplished and wise saint.
|
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੭॥੭॥੨੪॥
नानकु तिस कै सद कुरबाणा ॥४॥७॥१७॥७॥२४॥
Nānak ṯis kai saḏ kurbāṇā. ||4||7||17||7||24||
Nanak is ever a sacrifice unto him.

ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਬਿਭਾਸ
प्रभाती महला ४ बिभास
Parbẖāṯī mėhlā 4 bibẖās
Parbhati 4th Guru Bibhas.
|
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By the True Guru's grace, is He obtained.
|
ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗਾਨ ॥
रसकि रसकि गुन गावह गुरमति लिव उनमनि नामि लगान ॥
Rasak rasak gun gāvah gurmaṯ liv unman nām lagān.
By the Guru's instructions, I sing the Lord's praise with love and relish and my mind is attuned to the most-exalted Name.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਮ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੧॥
अम्रितु रसु पीआ गुर सबदी हम नाम विटहु कुरबान ॥१॥
Amriṯ ras pī▫ā gur sabḏī ham nām vitahu kurbān. ||1||
Through the Guru's word, I in-drink the Immortalising Name-Nectar. Unto the Lord's Name, I am a sacrifice.

ਹਮਰੇ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥
हमरे जगजीवन हरि प्रान ॥
Hamre jagjīvan har parān.
God, the life of the world, is my vital breath.
|
ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤੁ ਦੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि ऊतमु रिद अंतरि भाइओ गुरि मंतु दीओ हरि कान ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har ūṯam riḏ anṯar bẖā▫i▫o gur manṯ ḏī▫o har kān. ||1|| rahā▫o.
When the Guru ministered the Name through my ears, the Supreme Lord became pleasing unto my mind. Pause.

ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਨ ॥
आवहु संत मिलहु मेरे भाई मिलि हरि हरि नामु वखान ॥
Āvhu sanṯ milhu mere bẖā▫ī mil har har nām vakẖān.
O brother saints, come and meet me, so that getting together, we may utter the Lord God's Name.

ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨ ॥੨॥
कितु बिधि किउ पाईऐ प्रभु अपुना मो कउ करहु उपदेसु हरि दान ॥२॥
Kiṯ biḏẖ ki▫o pā▫ī▫ai parabẖ apunā mo ka▫o karahu upḏes har ḏān. ||2||
Bless ye me, with the bounty of the Lord's Name and instruct me as to by what means and how can I attain unto my Lord?

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਜਾਨ ॥
सतसंगति महि हरि हरि वसिआ मिलि संगति हरि गुन जान ॥
Saṯsangaṯ mėh har har vasi▫ā mil sangaṯ har gun jān.
The Lord God abides in the saints society. Meeting with their association, God's virtues are known.
|
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੩॥
वडै भागि सतसंगति पाई गुरु सतिगुरु परसि भगवान ॥३॥
vadai bẖāg saṯsangaṯ pā▫ī gur saṯgur paras bẖagvān. ||3||
It is by great good fortune that one is blest with the saints congregation and through the great True Guru, one meets with the Lord.

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ॥
गुन गावह प्रभ अगम ठाकुर के गुन गाइ रहे हैरान ॥
Gun gāvah parabẖ agam ṯẖākur ke gun gā▫e rahe hairān.
I sing the praise of my Unfathomable Lord Master and, singing His praise, I am struck with wonder.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਖਿਨ ਦਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥
जन नानक कउ गुरि किरपा धारी हरि नामु दीओ खिन दान ॥४॥१॥
Jan Nānak ka▫o gur kirpā ḏẖārī har nām ḏī▫o kẖin ḏān. ||4||1||
The Guru has shown mercy unto slave Nanak and, in a moment, has he blessed him with the gift of the Lord's Name.

ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
प्रभाती महला ४ ॥
Parbẖāṯī mėhlā 4.
Parbhati 4th Guru.

ਉਗਵੈ ਸੂਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਸਭ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਲ ॥
उगवै सूरु गुरमुखि हरि बोलहि सभ रैनि सम्हालहि हरि गाल ॥
Ugvai sūr gurmukẖ har bolėh sabẖ rain samĥālih har gāl.
With the sunrise, the Guru-ward utters the Lord's Name and remembers he, the Divine gospel the whole night through.

ਹਮਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਮ ਲੋਚ ਲਗਾਈ ਹਮ ਕਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਲ ॥੧॥
हमरै प्रभि हम लोच लगाई हम करह प्रभू हरि भाल ॥१॥
Hamrai parabẖ ham locẖ lagā▫ī ham karah parabẖū har bẖāl. ||1||
My Lord has welled up the craving within me and I search ever my Lord God.
|
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
मेरा मनु साधू धूरि रवाल ॥
Merā man sāḏẖū ḏẖūr ravāl.
My soul is the dust, yea, the dust of the saints feet.
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਹ ਹਮ ਬਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि हरि नामु द्रिड़ाइओ गुरि मीठा गुर पग झारह हम बाल ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har har nām ḏariṛ▫ā▫i▫o gur mīṯẖā gur pag jẖārah ham bāl. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Guru has implanted the Lord God's sweet Name within me and I dust the Guru's feet with my hair. Pause.

ਸਾਕਤ ਕਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਅੰਧਾਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਫਾਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲ ॥
साकत कउ दिनु रैनि अंधारी मोहि फाथे माइआ जाल ॥
Sākaṯ ka▫o ḏin rain anḏẖārī mohi fāthe mā▫i▫ā jāl.
Dark are the day and night for the mammon worshippers, they are caught in snare of the love of riches.

ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਰਿਨਿ ਬਾਧੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਾਲ ॥੨॥
खिनु पलु हरि प्रभु रिदै न वसिओ रिनि बाधे बहु बिधि बाल ॥२॥
Kẖin pal har parabẖ riḏai na vasi▫o rin bāḏẖe baho biḏẖ bāl. ||2||
The Lord God abides not in their mind even for an instant and a moment. Their every hair is bound, in many ways, with the debt of God.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਉ ਛੂਟੇ ਮਮਤਾ ਜਾਲ ॥
सतसंगति मिलि मति बुधि पाई हउ छूटे ममता जाल ॥
Saṯsangaṯ mil maṯ buḏẖ pā▫ī ha▫o cẖẖūte mamṯā jāl.
Meeting the society of saints, one attains good understanding and wisdom and is released from the snare of ego and attachment.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੩॥
हरि नामा हरि मीठ लगाना गुरि कीए सबदि निहाल ॥३॥
Har nāmā har mīṯẖ lagānā gur kī▫e sabaḏ nihāl. ||3||
God's Name and God seem sweet unto me and, through his word, the Guru has make me happy.

ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਗੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
हम बारिक गुर अगम गुसाई गुर करि किरपा प्रतिपाल ॥
Ham bārik gur agam gusā▫ī gur kar kirpā parṯipāl.
The Guru is my unfathomable Lord and I am his child, in his mercy, the Guru sustains me.

ਬਿਖੁ ਭਉਜਲ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥੪॥੨॥
बिखु भउजल डुबदे काढि लेहु प्रभ गुर नानक बाल गुपाल ॥४॥२॥
Bikẖ bẖa▫ojal dubḏe kādẖ leho parabẖ gur Nānak bāl gupāl. ||4||2||
O Great Lord, the World-Cherisher, Nanak, Thy child is drowning in the dreadful ocean of poison. Mercifully save Thou him.

इकु खिनु हरि प्रभि किरपा धारी गुन गाए रसक रसीक ॥
Ik kẖin har parabẖ kirpā ḏẖārī gun gā▫e rasak rasīk.
When the Lord God shows mercy unto me, even for an instant, I sing His praise with utter joy.
