ਪਸਰੀ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਰਸਿ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸੇ ਸਸਿ ਘਰਿ ਸੂਰੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
पसरी किरणि रसि कमल बिगासे ससि घरि सूरु समाइआ ॥
Pasrī kiraṇ ras kamal bigāse sas gẖar sūr samā▫i▫ā.
When the ray of gnosis spreads across the heart lotus, it joyfully blossoms and the sun enters the house of the moon.

ਕਾਲੁ ਬਿਧੁੰਸਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
कालु बिधुंसि मनसा मनि मारी गुर प्रसादि प्रभु पाइआ ॥३॥
Kāl biḏẖuns mansā man mārī gur parsāḏ parabẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||3||
Attaining unto the Lord, by the Guru's grace, I have overcome death and nipped my desire in the very mind.

ਅਤਿ ਰਸਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਰਾਤੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
अति रसि रंगि चलूलै राती दूजा रंगु न कोई ॥
Aṯ ras rang cẖalūlai rāṯī ḏūjā rang na ko▫ī.
I am now imbued with the deep red colour of the Lord's supreme love and am rid of other hues.

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਸਨਿ ਰਸਾਏ ਰਾਤੇ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥੧੫॥
नानक रसनि रसाए राते रवि रहिआ प्रभु सोई ॥४॥१५॥
Nānak rasan rasā▫e rāṯe rav rahi▫ā parabẖ so▫ī. ||4||15||
Nanak, my tongue is imbued with the relish of that Lord, who is pervading all over.

ਬਾਰਹ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਵਲ ਖਪਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ਚਹੁ ਛਿਅ ਮਹਿ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ॥
बारह महि रावल खपि जावहि चहु छिअ महि संनिआसी ॥
Bārah mėh rāval kẖap jāvėh cẖahu cẖẖi▫a mėh sani▫āsī.
Divided in twelve sects, the yogis are ruined and so are the four and six sects of sanyaisies.

ਜੋਗੀ ਕਾਪੜੀਆ ਸਿਰਖੂਥੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਗਲਿ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੧॥
जोगी कापड़ीआ सिरखूथे बिनु सबदै गलि फासी ॥१॥
Jogī kāpṛī▫ā sirkẖūthe bin sabḏai gal fāsī. ||1||
Similarly, the disciples of Gorakh, the mendicants in tatters and the plucked headed ones are loaded with the halter around their necks, bereft as they are, of the Lord's Name.

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥
सबदि रते पूरे बैरागी ॥
Sabaḏ raṯe pūre bairāgī.
Perfectly detached are they, who are imbued with the Lord's Name.
|
ਅਉਹਠਿ ਹਸਤ ਮਹਿ ਭੀਖਿਆ ਜਾਚੀ ਏਕ ਭਾਇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अउहठि हसत महि भीखिआ जाची एक भाइ लिव लागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
A▫uhaṯẖ hasaṯ mėh bẖīkẖi▫ā jācẖī ek bẖā▫e liv lāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
And embracing love and affection for the One Lord, they seek to obtain the alms of His Name in their mind's hand. Pause.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣ ਵਾਦੁ ਪੜਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਕਰਣੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਾਏ ॥
ब्रहमण वादु पड़हि करि किरिआ करणी करम कराए ॥
Barahmaṇ vāḏ paṛėh kar kiri▫ā karṇī karam karā▫e.
The Brahmans read about strifes, do the ceremonial deeds and daily routine and make others perform rituals.

ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
बिनु बूझे किछु सूझै नाही मनमुखु विछुड़ि दुखु पाए ॥२॥
Bin būjẖe kicẖẖ sūjẖai nāhī manmukẖ vicẖẖuṛ ḏukẖ pā▫e. ||2||
But without knowing the Lord, those egocentrics understand naught and, separated from God, they suffer pain.

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਸੂਚਾਚਾਰੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੇ ॥
सबदि मिले से सूचाचारी साची दरगह माने ॥
Sabaḏ mile se sūcẖācẖārī sācẖī ḏargėh māne.
They, alone who are blessed with the Guru's word are immaculate and are approved in the True court.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਨਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਨੇ ॥੩॥
अनदिनु नामि रतनि लिव लागे जुगि जुगि साचि समाने ॥३॥
An▫ḏin nām raṯan liv lāge jug jug sācẖ samāne. ||3||
Night and day, they remain attuned to the jewel of the Name and remain merged in the True Lord all the ages through.

ਸਗਲੇ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸੁਚਿ ਸੰਜਮ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਸੇ ॥
सगले करम धरम सुचि संजम जप तप तीरथ सबदि वसे ॥
Sagle karam ḏẖaram sucẖ sanjam jap ṯap ṯirath sabaḏ vase.
All the virtuous deeds, religious acts, purification, self-mortifications, devotions, austerities and pilgrimage to the holies abide in the Lord's Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਦੂਖ ਪਰਾਛਤ ਕਾਲ ਨਸੇ ॥੪॥੧੬॥
नानक सतिगुर मिलै मिलाइआ दूख पराछत काल नसे ॥४॥१६॥
Nānak saṯgur milai milā▫i▫ā ḏūkẖ parācẖẖaṯ kāl nase. ||4||16||
Nanak, if the True Guru is met, he unites man with the Lord and then sorrow, sin and death flee away.

ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੀ ॥
संता की रेणु साध जन संगति हरि कीरति तरु तारी ॥
Sanṯā kī reṇ sāḏẖ jan sangaṯ har kīraṯ ṯar ṯārī.
The dust of the saints feet, the association of the pious persons and the Lord's praises are a boat to cross the world stream.

ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਜਮੁ ਡਰਪੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
कहा करै बपुरा जमु डरपै गुरमुखि रिदै मुरारी ॥१॥
Kahā karai bapurā jam darpai gurmukẖ riḏai murārī. ||1||
What can the poor and awestricken Yama do unto the Guru-ward, within whose mind, God, the Enemy of ego, abides?

ਜਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ॥
जलि जाउ जीवनु नाम बिना ॥
Jal jā▫o jīvan nām binā.
May the life, bereft of the Lord's Name, be burnt down.
|
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਉ ਜਪਮਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਵੈ ਸਾਦੁ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि जपि जापु जपउ जपमाली गुरमुखि आवै सादु मना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har jap jāp japa▫o japmālī gurmukẖ āvai sāḏ manā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
By the Guru's grace, contemplate and remember I my God, and tell the beads of the rosary of His Name and my mind enjoys His flavour. Pause.

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਸਾਚੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਕਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
गुर उपदेस साचु सुखु जा कउ किआ तिसु उपमा कहीऐ ॥
Gur upḏes sācẖ sukẖ jā ka▫o ki▫ā ṯis upmā kahī▫ai.
Whosoever, by the Guru's instructions, is blessed with True bliss, how can I narrate his glory?

ਲਾਲ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਖੋਜਤ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੨॥
लाल जवेहर रतन पदारथ खोजत गुरमुखि लहीऐ ॥२॥
Lāl javehar raṯan paḏārath kẖojaṯ gurmukẖ lahī▫ai. ||2||
Searching by the Guru's grace, one finds the ruby, jewel and emeralds like wealth of the Lord's Name.

ਚੀਨੈ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਚੌ ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
चीनै गिआनु धिआनु धनु साचौ एक सबदि लिव लावै ॥
Cẖīnai gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān ḏẖan sācẖou ek sabaḏ liv lāvai.
The mortal should rest his mind on the treasures of true gnosis and meditation and ought to remain attuned to the One Lord's holy word.

ਨਿਰਾਲੰਬੁ ਨਿਰਹਾਰੁ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
निराल्मबु निरहारु निहकेवलु निरभउ ताड़ी लावै ॥३॥
Nirālamb nirhār nihkeval nirbẖa▫o ṯāṛī lāvai. ||3||
He should remain tranced in the Self-dependent, Hungerless, Immaculate and Fearless Lord.

ਸਾਇਰ ਸਪਤ ਭਰੇ ਜਲ ਨਿਰਮਲਿ ਉਲਟੀ ਨਾਵ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥
साइर सपत भरे जल निरमलि उलटी नाव तरावै ॥
Sā▫ir sapaṯ bẖare jal nirmal ultī nāv ṯarāvai.
His seven seas are then filled with the immaculate water of the Name and the inverted boat of his mind upturns and floats across.

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਤੌ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੪॥
बाहरि जातौ ठाकि रहावै गुरमुखि सहजि समावै ॥४॥
Bāhar jāṯou ṯẖāk rahāvai gurmukẖ sahj samāvai. ||4||
His outgoing mind, he stops and stays and by the Guru's grace, merge he in the Lord.

ਸੋ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਸੋ ਦਾਸੁ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ॥
सो गिरही सो दासु उदासी जिनि गुरमुखि आपु पछानिआ ॥
So girhī so ḏās uḏāsī jin gurmukẖ āp pacẖẖāni▫ā.
He alone is the householder and ascetic, who through the Guru, knows his-self.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੫॥੧੭॥
नानकु कहै अवरु नही दूजा साच सबदि मनु मानिआ ॥५॥१७॥
Nānak kahai avar nahī ḏūjā sācẖ sabaḏ man māni▫ā. ||5||17||
Says Nanak, he, whose mind is propitiated with the True Name, sees not another but the Lord.

ਰਾਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਚਉਪਦੇ
रागु प्रभाती महला ३ चउपदे
Rāg parbẖāṯī mėhlā 3 cẖa▫upḏe
Rag Parbhati 3rd Guru. Chaupadas.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By the true Guru's grace, is He obtained.
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
गुरमुखि विरला कोई बूझै सबदे रहिआ समाई ॥
Gurmukẖ virlā ko▫ī būjẖai sabḏe rahi▫ā samā▫ī.
Some rare one realise, by the Guru's grace, that the Lord is contained in the Guru's word.

ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥
नामि रते सदा सुखु पावै साचि रहै लिव लाई ॥१॥
Nām raṯe saḏā sukẖ pāvai sācẖ rahai liv lā▫ī. ||1||
They, who are imbued with the Name, ever obtain peace and remain attuned to the True Lord.
