ਬਿਸਮ ਬਿਸਮ ਬਿਸਮ ਹੀ ਭਈ ਹੈ ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਰੰਗਾਰੈ ॥
बिसम बिसम बिसम ही भई है लाल गुलाल रंगारै ॥
Bisam bisam bisam hī bẖa▫ī hai lāl gulāl rangārai.
I am wonder-struck, wonder-struck, wonder-struck and amazed, dyed in the deep crimson color of my Beloved.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਸੁ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਉ ਚਾਖਿ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਮੁਸਕਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੦॥
कहु नानक संतन रसु आई है जिउ चाखि गूंगा मुसकारै ॥२॥१॥२०॥
Kaho Nānak sanṯan ras ā▫ī hai ji▫o cẖākẖ gūngā muskārai. ||2||1||20||
Says Nanak, the Saints savor this sublime essence, like the mute, who tastes the sweet candy, but only smiles. ||2||1||20||

ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਨ ॥
न जानी संतन प्रभ बिनु आन ॥
Na jānī sanṯan parabẖ bin ān.
The Saints do not know any other except God.
|
ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਸਭ ਪੇਖਿ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਬਕਨੋ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऊच नीच सभ पेखि समानो मुखि बकनो मनि मान ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ūcẖ nīcẖ sabẖ pekẖ samāno mukẖ bakno man mān. ||1|| rahā▫o.
They look upon all equally, the high and the low; they speak of Him with their mouths, and honor Him in their minds. ||1||Pause||

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥
घटि घटि पूरि रहे सुख सागर भै भंजन मेरे प्रान ॥
Gẖat gẖat pūr rahe sukẖ sāgar bẖai bẖanjan mere parān.
He is pervading and permeating each and every heart; He is the Ocean of Peace, the Destroyer of fear. He is my praanaa - the Breath of Life.

ਮਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਇਓ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਨਾਸਿਓ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਨ ॥੧॥
मनहि प्रगासु भइओ भ्रमु नासिओ मंत्रु दीओ गुर कान ॥१॥
Manėh pargās bẖa▫i▫o bẖaram nāsi▫o manṯar ḏī▫o gur kān. ||1||
My mind was enlightened, and my doubt was dispelled, when the Guru whispered His Mantra into my ears. ||1||

ਕਰਤ ਰਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਤਗ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਗ੍ਯ੍ਯਿਾਨ ॥
करत रहे क्रतग्य करुणा मै अंतरजामी ग्यिान ॥
Karaṯ rahe karṯaga▫y karuṇā mai anṯarjāmī gi▫yān.
He is All-powerful, the Ocean of Mercy, the All-knowing Searcher of Hearts.

ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਾਂਗਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੧॥
आठ पहर नानक जसु गावै मांगन कउ हरि दान ॥२॥२॥२१॥
Āṯẖ pahar Nānak jas gāvai māʼngan ka▫o har ḏān. ||2||2||21||
Twenty-four hours a day Nanak sings His Praises, and begs for the Gift of the Lord. ||2||2||21||

ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਵਨ ਕਉ ਕਈ ਕੇਤੈ ॥
कहन कहावन कउ कई केतै ॥
Kahan kahāvan ka▫o ka▫ī keṯai.
Many speak and talk about God.
|
ਐਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਬਿਰਲੋ ਹੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੋ ਤਤ ਜੋਗ ਕਉ ਬੇਤੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऐसो जनु बिरलो है सेवकु जो तत जोग कउ बेतै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Aiso jan birlo hai sevak jo ṯaṯ jog ka▫o beṯai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
But one who understands the essence of Yoga - such a humble servant is very rare||1||Pause||

ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਏਕੈ ਏਕੀ ਨੇਤੈ ॥
दुखु नाही सभु सुखु ही है रे एकै एकी नेतै ॥
Ḏukẖ nāhī sabẖ sukẖ hī hai re ekai ekī neṯai.
He has no pain - he is totally at peace. With his eyes, he sees only the One Lord.

ਬੁਰਾ ਨਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਭਲਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਹਾਰ ਨਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੇਤੈ ॥੧॥
बुरा नही सभु भला ही है रे हार नही सभ जेतै ॥१॥
Burā nahī sabẖ bẖalā hī hai re hār nahī sabẖ jeṯai. ||1||
No one seems evil to him - all are good. There is no defeat - he is totally victorious. ||1||
|
ਸੋਗੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਖੀ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਲੇਤੈ ॥
सोगु नाही सदा हरखी है रे छोडि नाही किछु लेतै ॥
Sog nāhī saḏā harkẖī hai re cẖẖod nāhī kicẖẖ leṯai.
He is never in sorrow - he is always happy; but he gives this up, and does not take anything.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹੈ ਕਤ ਆਵੈ ਕਤ ਰਮਤੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੨੨॥
कहु नानक जनु हरि हरि हरि है कत आवै कत रमतै ॥२॥३॥२२॥
Kaho Nānak jan har har har hai kaṯ āvai kaṯ ramṯai. ||2||3||22||
Says Nanak, the humble servant of the Lord is himself the Lord, Har, Har; he does not come and go in reincarnation. ||2||3||22||

ਹੀਏ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
हीए को प्रीतमु बिसरि न जाइ ॥
Hī▫e ko parīṯam bisar na jā▫e.
I pray that my heart may never forget my Beloved.

ਤਨ ਮਨ ਗਲਤ ਭਏ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗੇ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਮੋਰੀ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तन मन गलत भए तिह संगे मोहनी मोहि रही मोरी माइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧan man galaṯ bẖa▫e ṯih sange mohnī mohi rahī morī mā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
My body and mind are blended with Him, but the Enticer, Maya, is enticing me, O my mother. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਪਹਿ ਕਹਉ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਹਉ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਤੇਊ ਤੇਊ ਗਹੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਟਕਾਇ ॥
जै जै पहि कहउ ब्रिथा हउ अपुनी तेऊ तेऊ गहे रहे अटकाइ ॥
Jai jai pėh kaha▫o baritha ha▫o apunī ṯe▫ū ṯe▫ū gahe rahe atkā▫e.
Those unto whom I tell my pain and frustration - they themselves are caught and stuck.

ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕੀ ਏਕੈ ਜਾਲੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗੰਠਿ ਨਹੀ ਛੋਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
अनिक भांति की एकै जाली ता की गंठि नही छोराइ ॥१॥
Anik bẖāʼnṯ kī ekai jālī ṯā kī ganṯẖ nahī cẖẖorā▫e. ||1||
In all sorts of ways, Maya has cast the net; the knots cannot be loosened. ||1||
|
ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਆਇਓ ਸੰਤਨ ਹੀ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥
फिरत फिरत नानक दासु आइओ संतन ही सरनाइ ॥
Firaṯ firaṯ Nānak ḏās ā▫i▫o sanṯan hī sarnā▫e.
Wandering and roaming, slave Nanak has come to the Sanctuary of the Saints.

ਕਾਟੇ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੀਓ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਇ ॥੨॥੪॥੨੩॥
काटे अगिआन भरम मोह माइआ लीओ कंठि लगाइ ॥२॥४॥२३॥
Kāte agi▫ān bẖaram moh mā▫i▫ā lī▫o kanṯẖ lagā▫e. ||2||4||23||
The bonds of ignorance, doubt, emotional attachment and the love of Maya have been cut; God hugs me close in His Embrace. ||2||4||23||

ਆਨਦ ਰੰਗ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥
आनद रंग बिनोद हमारै ॥
Ānaḏ rang binoḏ hamārai.
My home is filled with ecstasy, pleasure and joy.

ਨਾਮੋ ਗਾਵਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नामो गावनु नामु धिआवनु नामु हमारे प्रान अधारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Nāmo gāvan nām ḏẖi▫āvan nām hamāre parān aḏẖārai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I sing the Naam, and I meditate on the Naam. The Naam is the Support of my breath of life. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮੋ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥
नामो गिआनु नामु इसनाना हरि नामु हमारे कारज सवारै ॥
Nāmo gi▫ān nām isnānā har nām hamāre kāraj savārai.
The Naam is spiritual wisdom, the Naam is my purifying bath. The Naam resolves all my affairs.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਡਾਈ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
हरि नामो सोभा नामु बडाई भउजलु बिखमु नामु हरि तारै ॥१॥
Har nāmo sobẖā nām badā▫ī bẖa▫ojal bikẖam nām har ṯārai. ||1||
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is glorious grandeur; the Naam is glorious greatness. The Name of the Lord carries me across the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||
|
ਅਗਮ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਲਾਲ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨਾਰੈ ॥
अगम पदारथ लाल अमोला भइओ परापति गुर चरनारै ॥
Agam paḏārath lāl amolā bẖa▫i▫o parāpaṯ gur cẖarnārai.
The Unfathomable Treasure, the Priceless Gem - I have received it, through the Guru's Feet.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ਮਗਨ ਭਏ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਦਰਸਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੨੪॥
कहु नानक प्रभ भए क्रिपाला मगन भए हीअरै दरसारै ॥२॥५॥२४॥
Kaho Nānak parabẖ bẖa▫e kirpālā magan bẖa▫e hī▫arai ḏarsārai. ||2||5||24||
Says Nanak, God has become Merciful; my heart is intoxicated by the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||2||5||24||

ਸਾਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇਰੋ ॥
साजन मीत सुआमी नेरो ॥
Sājan mīṯ su▫āmī nero.
My Friend, my Best Friend, my Lord and Master, is near.
|
ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਭਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਥੋਰੈ ਕਾਜ ਬੁਰੋ ਕਹ ਫੇਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
पेखत सुनत सभन कै संगे थोरै काज बुरो कह फेरो ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Pekẖaṯ sunaṯ sabẖan kai sange thorai kāj buro kah fero. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He sees and hears everything; He is with everyone. You are here for such short time - why do you do evil? ||1||Pause||
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੇਤੋ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ਕਛੂ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਤੇਰੋ ॥
नाम बिना जेतो लपटाइओ कछू नही नाही कछु तेरो ॥
Nām binā jeṯo laptā▫i▫o kacẖẖū nahī nāhī kacẖẖ ṯero.
Except for the Naam, whatever you are involved with is nothing - nothing is yours.

ਆਗੈ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਆਵਤ ਸਭ ਪਰਗਟ ਈਹਾ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਭਰਮ ਅੰਧੇਰੋ ॥੧॥
आगै द्रिसटि आवत सभ परगट ईहा मोहिओ भरम अंधेरो ॥१॥
Āgai ḏarisat āvaṯ sabẖ pargat īhā mohi▫o bẖaram anḏẖero. ||1||
Hereafter, everything is revealed to your gaze; but in this world, all are enticed by the darkness of doubt. ||1||
|
ਅਟਕਿਓ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਬਿਸੇਰੋ ॥
अटकिओ सुत बनिता संग माइआ देवनहारु दातारु बिसेरो ॥
Atki▫o suṯ baniṯā sang mā▫i▫ā ḏevanhār ḏāṯār bisero.
People are caught in Maya, attached to their children and spouses. They have forgotten the Great and Generous Giver.
