ਗੁਣ ਰਮੰਤ ਦੂਖ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਰਿਦ ਭਇਅੰਤ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥੩॥
गुण रमंत दूख नासहि रिद भइअंत सांति ॥३॥
Guṇ ramanṯ ḏūkẖ nāsėh riḏ bẖa▫i▫anṯ sāʼnṯ. ||3||
Uttering His Glorious Praises, suffering is eradicated, and the heart becomes tranquil and calm. ||3||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਉ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੫॥
अम्रिता रसु पीउ रसना नानक हरि रंगि रात ॥४॥४॥१५॥
Amriṯā ras pī▫o rasnā Nānak har rang rāṯ. ||4||4||15||
Drink in the Sweet, Sublime Ambrosial Nectar, O Nanak, and be imbued with the Love of the Lord. ||4||4||15||

ਸਾਜਨਾ ਸੰਤ ਆਉ ਮੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
साजना संत आउ मेरै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sājnā sanṯ ā▫o merai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O friends, O Saints, come to me. ||1||Pause||

ਆਨਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਸਮਲਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਪਰੇਰੈ ॥੧॥
आनदा गुन गाइ मंगल कसमला मिटि जाहि परेरै ॥१॥
Ānḏā gun gā▫e mangal kasmalā mit jāhi parerai. ||1||
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with pleasure and joy, the sins will be erased and thrown away. ||1||

ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ਧਰਉ ਮਾਥੈ ਚਾਂਦਨਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਅੰਧੇਰੈ ॥੨॥
संत चरन धरउ माथै चांदना ग्रिहि होइ अंधेरै ॥२॥
Sanṯ cẖaran ḏẖara▫o māthai cẖāʼnḏnā garihi ho▫e anḏẖerai. ||2||
Touch your forehead to the feet of the Saints, and your dark household shall be illumined. ||2||

ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਜਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਨੇਰੈ ॥੩॥
संत प्रसादि कमलु बिगसै गोबिंद भजउ पेखि नेरै ॥३॥
Sanṯ parsāḏ kamal bigsai gobinḏ bẖaja▫o pekẖ nerai. ||3||
By the Grace of the Saints, the heart-lotus blossoms forth. Vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the Universe, and see Him near at hand. ||3||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਏ ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹ ਬੇਰੈ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੬॥
प्रभ क्रिपा ते संत पाए वारि वारि नानक उह बेरै ॥४॥५॥१६॥
Parabẖ kirpā ṯe sanṯ pā▫e vār vār Nānak uh berai. ||4||5||16||
By the Grace of God, I have found the Saints. Over and over again, Nanak is a sacrifice to that moment. ||4||5||16||

ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ॥

Cẖaran saran gopāl ṯerī.
I seek the Sanctuary of Your Lotus Feet, O Lord of the World.

ਮੋਹ ਮਾਨ ਧੋਹ ਭਰਮ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਜੈ ਕਾਟਿ ਬੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मोह मान धोह भरम राखि लीजै काटि बेरी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Moh mān ḏẖoh bẖaram rākẖ lījai kāt berī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Save me from emotional attachment, pride, deception and doubt; please cut away these ropes which bind me. ||1||Pause||

ਬੂਡਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ॥
बूडत संसार सागर ॥
Būdaṯ sansār sāgar.
I am drowning in the world-ocean.
|
ਉਧਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਰਤਨਾਗਰ ॥੧॥
उधरे हरि सिमरि रतनागर ॥१॥
Uḏẖre har simar raṯnāgar. ||1||
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the Source of Jewels, I am saved. ||1||
|
ਸੀਤਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
सीतला हरि नामु तेरा ॥
Sīṯlā har nām ṯerā.
Your Name, Lord, is cooling and soothing.
|
ਪੂਰਨੋ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੨॥
पूरनो ठाकुर प्रभु मेरा ॥२॥
Pūrno ṯẖākur parabẖ merā. ||2||
God, my Lord and Master, is Perfect. ||2||
|
ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਨ ॥
दीन दरद निवारि तारन ॥
Ḏīn ḏaraḏ nivār ṯāran.
You are the Deliverer, the Destroyer of the sufferings of the meek and the poor.
|
ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ॥੩॥
हरि क्रिपा निधि पतित उधारन ॥३॥
Har kirpā niḏẖ paṯiṯ uḏẖāran. ||3||
The Lord is the Treasure of Mercy, the Saving Grace of sinners. ||3||
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਦੂਖ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
कोटि जनम दूख करि पाइओ ॥
Kot janam ḏūkẖ kar pā▫i▫o.
I have suffered the pains of millions of incarnations.
|
ਸੁਖੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੭॥
सुखी नानक गुरि नामु द्रिड़ाइओ ॥४॥६॥१७॥
Sukẖī Nānak gur nām ḏariṛ▫ā▫i▫o. ||4||6||17||
Nanak is at peace; the Guru has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me. ||4||6||17||

धनि उह प्रीति चरन संगि लागी ॥
Ḏẖan uh parīṯ cẖaran sang lāgī.
Blessed is that love, which is attuned to the Lord's Feet.

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कोटि जाप ताप सुख पाए आइ मिले पूरन बडभागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kot jāp ṯāp sukẖ pā▫e ā▫e mile pūran badbẖāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The peace which comes from millions of chants and deep meditations is obtained by perfect good fortune and destiny. ||1||Pause||

ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਵਰ ਓਟ ਸਗਲੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
मोहि अनाथु दासु जनु तेरा अवर ओट सगली मोहि तिआगी ॥
Mohi anāth ḏās jan ṯerā avar ot saglī mohi ṯi▫āgī.
I am Your helpless servant and slave; I have given up all other support.

ਭੋਰ ਭਰਮ ਕਾਟੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗੀ ॥੧॥
भोर भरम काटे प्रभ सिमरत गिआन अंजन मिलि सोवत जागी ॥१॥
Bẖor bẖaram kāte parabẖ simraṯ gi▫ān anjan mil sovaṯ jāgī. ||1||
Every trace of doubt has been eradicated, remembering God in meditation. I have applied the ointment of spiritual wisdom, and awakened from my sleep. ||1||

ਤੂ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਅਤਿ ਬਡੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਰਤਨਾਗੀ ॥
तू अथाहु अति बडो सुआमी क्रिपा सिंधु पूरन रतनागी ॥
Ŧū athāhu aṯ bado su▫āmī kirpā sinḏẖ pūran raṯnāgī.
You are Unfathomable, Great and Utterly Vast, O my Lord and Master, Ocean of Mercy, Source of Jewels.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਚਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਮਸਤਕੁ ਆਨਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੮॥
नानकु जाचकु हरि हरि नामु मांगै मसतकु आनि धरिओ प्रभ पागी ॥२॥७॥१८॥
Nānak jācẖak har har nām māʼngai masṯak ān ḏẖari▫o parabẖ pāgī. ||2||7||18||
Nanak, the beggar, begs for the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; he rests his forehead upon God's Feet. ||2||7||18||

ਕੁਚਿਲ ਕਠੋਰ ਕਪਟ ਕਾਮੀ ॥
कुचिल कठोर कपट कामी ॥
Kucẖil kaṯẖor kapat kāmī.
I am filthy, hard-hearted, deceitful and obsessed with sexual desire.
|
ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਤਾਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जिउ जानहि तिउ तारि सुआमी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ji▫o jānėh ṯi▫o ṯār su▫āmī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Please carry me across, as You wish, O my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਕਲ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
तू समरथु सरनि जोगु तू राखहि अपनी कल धारि ॥१॥
Ŧū samrath saran jog ṯū rākẖahi apnī kal ḏẖār. ||1||
You are All-powerful and Potent to grant Sanctuary. Exerting Your Power, You protect us. ||1||
|
ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਨੇਮ ਸੁਚਿ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਾਹੀ ਇਨ ਬਿਧੇ ਛੁਟਕਾਰ ॥
जाप ताप नेम सुचि संजम नाही इन बिधे छुटकार ॥
Jāp ṯāp nem sucẖ sanjam nāhī in biḏẖe cẖẖutkār.
Chanting and deep meditation, penance and austere self-discipline, fasting and purification - salvation does not come by any of these means.

ਗਰਤ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੯॥
गरत घोर अंध ते काढहु प्रभ नानक नदरि निहारि ॥२॥८॥१९॥
Garaṯ gẖor anḏẖ ṯe kādẖahu parabẖ Nānak naḏar nihār. ||2||8||19||
Please lift me up and out of this deep, dark ditch; O God, please bless Nanak with Your Glance of Grace. ||2||8||19||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਨਰਪਤਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੈ ॥
नाराइन नरपति नमसकारै ॥
Nārā▫in narpaṯ namaskārai.
The one who bows in humble reverence to the Primal Lord, the Lord of all beings
|
ਐਸੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऐसे गुर कउ बलि बलि जाईऐ आपि मुकतु मोहि तारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Aise gur ka▫o bal bal jā▫ī▫ai āp mukaṯ mohi ṯārai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
- I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to such a Guru; He Himself is liberated, and He carries me across as well. ||1||Pause||

ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਗੁਨ ਕਹੀਐ ਅੰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਪਾਰੈ ॥
कवन कवन कवन गुन कहीऐ अंतु नही कछु पारै ॥
Kavan kavan kavan gun kahī▫ai anṯ nahī kacẖẖ pārai.
Which, which, which of Your Glorious Virtues should I chant? There is no end or limitation to them.

ਲਾਖ ਲਾਖ ਲਾਖ ਕਈ ਕੋਰੈ ਕੋ ਹੈ ਐਸੋ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
लाख लाख लाख कई कोरै को है ऐसो बीचारै ॥१॥
Lākẖ lākẖ lākẖ ka▫ī korai ko hai aiso bīcẖārai. ||1||
There are thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, many millions of them, but those who contemplate them are very rare. ||1||
