ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
तेरे जन धिआवहि इक मनि इक चिति ते साधू सुख पावहि जपि हरि हरि नामु निधान ॥
Ŧere jan ḏẖi▫āvahi ik man ik cẖiṯ ṯe sāḏẖū sukẖ pāvahi jap har har nām niḏẖān.
Your humble servants focus their consciousness and meditate on You with one-pointed mind; those Holy beings find peace, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Treasure of Bliss.

ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥
उसतति करहि प्रभ तेरीआ मिलि साधू साध जना गुर सतिगुरू भगवान ॥१॥
Usṯaṯ karahi parabẖ ṯerī▫ā mil sāḏẖū sāḏẖ janā gur saṯgurū bẖagvān. ||1||
They sing Your Praises, God, meeting with the Holy, the Holy people, and the Guru, the True Guru, O Lord God. ||1||
|
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੇ ਤਰੇ ਭਵ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨ ॥
जिन कै हिरदै तू सुआमी ते सुख फल पावहि ते तरे भव सिंधु ते भगत हरि जान ॥
Jin kai hirḏai ṯū su▫āmī ṯe sukẖ fal pāvahi ṯe ṯare bẖav sinḏẖ ṯe bẖagaṯ har jān.
They alone obtain the fruit of peace, within whose hearts You, O my Lord and Master, abide. They cross over the terrifying world-ocean - they are known as the Lord's devotees.

ਤਿਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਹਮ ਲਾਇ ਹਰੇ ਹਮ ਲਾਇ ਹਰੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨॥
तिन सेवा हम लाइ हरे हम लाइ हरे जन नानक के हरि तू तू तू तू तू भगवान ॥२॥६॥१२॥
Ŧin sevā ham lā▫e hare ham lā▫e hare jan Nānak ke har ṯū ṯū ṯū ṯū ṯū bẖagvān. ||2||6||12||
Please enjoin me to their service, Lord, please enjoin me to their service. O Lord God, You, You, You, You, You are the Lord of servant Nanak. ||2||6||12||

ਗਾਈਐ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ॥
गाईऐ गुण गोपाल क्रिपा निधि ॥
Gā▫ī▫ai guṇ gopāl kirpā niḏẖ.
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the World, the Treasure of Mercy.

ਦੁਖ ਬਿਦਾਰਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਧਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
दुख बिदारन सुखदाते सतिगुर जा कउ भेटत होइ सगल सिधि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏukẖ biḏāran sukẖ▫ḏāṯe saṯgur jā ka▫o bẖetaṯ ho▫e sagal siḏẖ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The True Guru is the Destroyer of pain, the Giver of peace; meeting Him, one is totally fulfilled. ||1||Pause||

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਾਧਾਰੈ ॥
सिमरत नामु मनहि साधारै ॥
Simraṯ nām manėh saḏẖārai.
Meditate in remembrance on the Naam, the Support of the mind.
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧੀ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
कोटि पराधी खिन महि तारै ॥१॥
Kot parāḏẖī kẖin mėh ṯārai. ||1||
Millions of sinners are carried across in an instant. ||1||
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
जा कउ चीति आवै गुरु अपना ॥
Jā ka▫o cẖīṯ āvai gur apnā.
Whoever remembers his Guru,
|
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਦੂਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਤਿਲੁ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੨॥
ता कउ दूखु नही तिलु सुपना ॥२॥
Ŧā ka▫o ḏūkẖ nahī ṯil supnā. ||2||
shall not suffer sorrow, even in dreams. ||2||
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
जा कउ सतिगुरु अपना राखै ॥
Jā ka▫o saṯgur apnā rākẖai.
Whoever keeps his Guru enshrined within
|
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੩॥
सो जनु हरि रसु रसना चाखै ॥३॥
So jan har ras rasnā cẖākẖai. ||3||
- that humble being tastes the sublime essence of the Lord with his tongue. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਇਆ ॥
कहु नानक गुरि कीनी मइआ ॥
Kaho Nānak gur kīnī ma▫i▫ā.
Says Nanak, the Guru has been Kind to me;
|
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥
हलति पलति मुख ऊजल भइआ ॥४॥१॥
Halaṯ palaṯ mukẖ ūjal bẖa▫i▫ā. ||4||1||
here and hereafter, my face is radiant. ||4||1||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:

ਆਰਾਧਉ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪਨੇ ॥
आराधउ तुझहि सुआमी अपने ॥
Ārāḏẖa▫o ṯujẖėh su▫āmī apne.
I worship and adore You, my Lord and Master.

ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ऊठत बैठत सोवत जागत सासि सासि सासि हरि जपने ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ūṯẖaṯ baiṯẖaṯ sovaṯ jāgaṯ sās sās sās har japne. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Standing up and sitting down, while sleeping and awake, with each and every breath, I meditate on the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
ता कै हिरदै बसिओ नामु ॥
Ŧā kai hirḏai basi▫o nām.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within the hearts of those,
|
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
जा कउ सुआमी कीनो दानु ॥१॥
Jā ka▫o su▫āmī kīno ḏān. ||1||
whose Lord and Master blesses them with this gift. ||1||
|
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਆਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥
ता कै हिरदै आई सांति ॥
Ŧā kai hirḏai ā▫ī sāʼnṯ.
Peace and tranquility come into the hearts of those
|
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਂਤਿ ॥੨॥
ठाकुर भेटे गुर बचनांति ॥२॥
Ŧẖākur bẖete gur bacẖnāʼnṯ. ||2||
who meet their Lord and Master, through the Word of the Guru. ||2||
|
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਬੀਨ ॥
सरब कला सोई परबीन ॥
Sarab kalā so▫ī parbīn.
Those are wise and blessed with all powers,
|
ਨਾਮ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨ ॥੩॥
नाम मंत्रु जा कउ गुरि दीन ॥३॥
Nām manṯar jā ka▫o gur ḏīn. ||3||
whom the Guru blesses with the Mantra of the Naam. ||3||
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
कहु नानक ता कै बलि जाउ ॥
Kaho Nānak ṯā kai bal jā▫o.
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those
|
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੨॥
कलिजुग महि पाइआ जिनि नाउ ॥४॥२॥
Kalijug mėh pā▫i▫ā jin nā▫o. ||4||2||
who are blessed with the Name in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||4||2||

ਕੀਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਗਾਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਸਨਾਂ ॥
कीरति प्रभ की गाउ मेरी रसनां ॥
Kīraṯ parabẖ kī gā▫o merī rasnāʼn.
Sing the Praises of God, O my tongue.

ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਊਹਾਂ ਚਰਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਬਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनिक बार करि बंदन संतन ऊहां चरन गोबिंद जी के बसना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anik bār kar banḏan sanṯan ūhāʼn cẖaran gobinḏ jī ke basnā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Humbly bow to the Saints, over and over again; through them, the Feet of the Lord of the Universe shall come to abide within you. ||1||Pause||
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
अनिक भांति करि दुआरु न पावउ ॥
Anik bẖāʼnṯ kar ḏu▫ār na pāva▫o.
The Door to the Lord cannot be found by any other means.
|
ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥
होइ क्रिपालु त हरि हरि धिआवउ ॥१॥
Ho▫e kirpāl ṯa har har ḏẖi▫āva▫o. ||1||
When He becomes Merciful, we come to meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹ ਨ ਸੋਧਾ ॥
कोटि करम करि देह न सोधा ॥
Kot karam kar ḏeh na soḏẖā.
The body is not purified by millions of rituals.
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਮਨੁ ਪਰਬੋਧਾ ॥੨॥
साधसंगति महि मनु परबोधा ॥२॥
Sāḏẖsangaṯ mėh man parboḏẖā. ||2||
The mind is awakened and enlightened only in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||
|
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਨ ਬੂਝੀ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
त्रिसन न बूझी बहु रंग माइआ ॥
Ŧarisan na būjẖī baho rang mā▫i▫ā.
Thirst and desire are not quenched by enjoying the many pleasures of Maya.

ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
नामु लैत सरब सुख पाइआ ॥३॥
Nām laiṯ sarab sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||3||
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, total peace is found. ||3||
|
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
पारब्रहम जब भए दइआल ॥
Pārbarahm jab bẖa▫e ḏa▫i▫āl.
When the Supreme Lord God becomes Merciful,
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਉ ਛੂਟੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੪॥੩॥
कहु नानक तउ छूटे जंजाल ॥४॥३॥
Kaho Nānak ṯa▫o cẖẖūte janjāl. ||4||3||
says Nanak, then one is rid of worldly entanglements. ||4||3||

ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਐਸੀ ਮਾਂਗੁ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਤੇ ॥
ऐसी मांगु गोबिद ते ॥
Aisī māʼng gobiḏ ṯe.
Beg for such blessings from the Lord of the Universe:

ਟਹਲ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਜਪਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
टहल संतन की संगु साधू का हरि नामां जपि परम गते ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Tahal sanṯan kī sang sāḏẖū kā har nāmāʼn jap param gaṯe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
to work for the Saints, and the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Chanting the Name of the Lord, the supreme status is obtained. ||1||Pause||
|
ਪੂਜਾ ਚਰਨਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
पूजा चरना ठाकुर सरना ॥
Pūjā cẖarnā ṯẖākur sarnā.
Worship the Feet of Your Lord and Master, and seek His Sanctuary.
|
ਸੋਈ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
सोई कुसलु जु प्रभ जीउ करना ॥१॥
So▫ī kusal jo parabẖ jī▫o karnā. ||1||
Take joy in whatever God does. ||1||
|
ਸਫਲ ਹੋਤ ਇਹ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
सफल होत इह दुरलभ देही ॥
Safal hoṯ ih ḏurlabẖ ḏehī.
This precious human body becomes fruitful,
