ਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਬਰਨਿ ਸਾਕਉ ਓਇ ਊਤਮ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਨ ॥੩॥
जन की महिमा बरनि न साकउ ओइ ऊतम हरि हरि केन ॥३॥
Jan kī mahimā baran na sāka▫o o▫e ūṯam har har ken. ||3||
I cannot even describe the noble grandeur of such humble beings; the Lord, Har, Har, has made them sublime and exalted. ||3||

ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਹ ਵਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਰਾਸਿ ਦੇਨ
तुम्ह हरि साह वडे प्रभ सुआमी हम वणजारे रासि देन ॥
Ŧumĥ har sāh vade parabẖ su▫āmī ham vaṇjāre rās ḏen.
You, Lord are the Great Merchant-Banker; O God, my Lord and Master, I am just a poor peddler; please bless me with the wealth.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਲਦਿ ਵਾਖਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੇਨ ॥੪॥੨॥
जन नानक कउ दइआ प्रभ धारहु लदि वाखरु हरि हरि लेन ॥४॥२॥
Jan Nānak ka▫o ḏa▫i▫ā parabẖ ḏẖārahu laḏ vākẖar har har len. ||4||2||
Please bestow Your Kindness and Mercy upon servant Nanak, God, so that he may load up the merchandise of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||2||

ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ
कानड़ा महला ४ ॥
Kānṛā mėhlā 4.
Kaanraa, Fourth Mehl:

ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਗਾਸ
जपि मन राम नाम परगास ॥
Jap man rām nām pargās.
O mind, chant the Name of the Lord, and be enlightened.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਵਿਚੇ ਗਿਰਹ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि के संत मिलि प्रीति लगानी विचे गिरह उदास ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har ke sanṯ mil parīṯ lagānī vicẖe girah uḏās. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meet with the Saints of the Lord, and focus your love; remain balanced and detached within your own household. ||1||Pause||

ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਪਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾਸ
हम हरि हिरदै जपिओ नामु नरहरि प्रभि क्रिपा करी किरपास ॥
Ham har hirḏai japi▫o nām narhar parabẖ kirpā karī kirpās.
I chant the Name of the Lord, Har-Har, within my heart; God the Merciful has shown His Mercy.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸਿਆ ਉਦਮ ਭਏ ਮਿਲਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ॥੧॥
अनदिनु अनदु भइआ मनु बिगसिआ उदम भए मिलन की आस ॥१॥
An▫ḏin anaḏ bẖa▫i▫ā man bigsi▫ā uḏam bẖa▫e milan kī ās. ||1||
Night and day, I am in ecstasy; my mind has blossomed forth, rejuvenated. I am trying - I hope to meet my Lord. ||1||

ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਾਸ ਲੀਏ ਹਮ ਗ੍ਰਾਸ
हम हरि सुआमी प्रीति लगाई जितने सास लीए हम ग्रास ॥
Ham har su▫āmī parīṯ lagā▫ī jiṯne sās lī▫e ham garās.
I am in love with the Lord, my Lord and Master; I love Him with every breath and morsel of food I take.

ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦਹਨ ਭਏ ਖਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂਟਿ ਗਏ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਫਾਸ ॥੨॥
किलबिख दहन भए खिन अंतरि तूटि गए माइआ के फास ॥२॥
Kilbikẖ ḏahan bẖa▫e kẖin anṯar ṯūt ga▫e mā▫i▫ā ke fās. ||2||
My sins were burnt away in an instant; the noose of the bondage of Maya was loosened. ||2||

ਕਿਆ ਹਮ ਕਿਰਮ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਰਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾਸ
किआ हम किरम किआ करम कमावहि मूरख मुगध रखे प्रभ तास ॥
Ki▫ā ham kiram ki▫ā karam kamāvėh mūrakẖ mugaḏẖ rakẖe parabẖ ṯās.
I am such a worm! What karma am I creating? What can I do? I am a fool, a total idiot, but God has saved me.

ਅਵਗਨੀਆਰੇ ਪਾਥਰ ਭਾਰੇ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਤਰੇ ਤਰਾਸ ॥੩॥
अवगनीआरे पाथर भारे सतसंगति मिलि तरे तरास ॥३॥
Avganī▫āre pāthar bẖāre saṯsangaṯ mil ṯare ṯarās. ||3||
I am unworthy, heavy as stone, but joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I am carried across to the other side. ||3||

ਜੇਤੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਰੀ ਜਗਦੀਸਰਿ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਊਚ ਹਮ ਨੀਚ ਬਿਖਿਆਸ
जेती स्रिसटि करी जगदीसरि ते सभि ऊच हम नीच बिखिआस ॥
Jeṯī sarisat karī jagḏīsar ṯe sabẖ ūcẖ ham nīcẖ bikẖi▫ās.
The Universe which God created is all above me; I am the lowest, engrossed in corruption.

ਹਮਰੇ ਅਵਗੁਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਟੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸ ॥੪॥੩॥
हमरे अवगुन संगि गुर मेटे जन नानक मेलि लीए प्रभ पास ॥४॥३॥
Hamre avgun sang gur mete jan Nānak mel lī▫e parabẖ pās. ||4||3||
With the Guru, my faults and demerits have been erased. Servant Nanak has been united with God Himself. ||4||3||

ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ
कानड़ा महला ४ ॥
Kānṛā mėhlā 4.
Kaanraa, Fourth Mehl:

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਵਾਕ
मेरै मनि राम नामु जपिओ गुर वाक ॥
Merai man rām nām japi▫o gur vāk.
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, through the Guru's Word.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਗਦੀਸਰਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਗਇਓ ਸਭ ਝਾਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि हरि क्रिपा करी जगदीसरि दुरमति दूजा भाउ गइओ सभ झाक ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har har kirpā karī jagḏīsar ḏurmaṯ ḏūjā bẖā▫o ga▫i▫o sabẖ jẖāk. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Lord, Har, Har, has shown me His Mercy, and my evil-mindedness, love of duality and sense of alienation are totally gone, thanks to the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਨਾ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵਿਓ ਗੁਪਲਾਕ
नाना रूप रंग हरि केरे घटि घटि रामु रविओ गुपलाक ॥
Nānā rūp rang har kere gẖat gẖat rām ravi▫o guplāk.
There are so many forms and colors of the Lord. The Lord is pervading each and every heart, and yet He is hidden from view.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਉਘਰਿ ਗਏ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕੇ ਤਾਕ ॥੧॥
हरि के संत मिले हरि प्रगटे उघरि गए बिखिआ के ताक ॥१॥
Har ke sanṯ mile har pargate ugẖar ga▫e bikẖi▫ā ke ṯāk. ||1||
Meeting with the Lord's Saints, the Lord is revealed, and the doors of corruption are shattered. ||1||

ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਹੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਜਿਨ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿਕ ਰਸਾਕ
संत जना की बहुतु बहु सोभा जिन उरि धारिओ हरि रसिक रसाक ॥
Sanṯ janā kī bahuṯ baho sobẖā jin ur ḏẖāri▫o har rasik rasāk.
The glory of the Saintly beings is absolutely great; they lovingly enshrine the Lord of Bliss and Delight within their hearts.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜੈਸੇ ਗਊ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਛਰਾਕ ॥੨॥
हरि के संत मिले हरि मिलिआ जैसे गऊ देखि बछराक ॥२॥
Har ke sanṯ mile har mili▫ā jaise ga▫ū ḏekẖ bacẖẖrāk. ||2||
Meeting with the Lord's Saints, I meet with the Lord, just as when the calf is seen - the cow is there as well. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਊਤਮ ਜਨਕ ਜਨਾਕ
हरि के संत जना महि हरि हरि ते जन ऊतम जनक जनाक ॥
Har ke sanṯ janā mėh har har ṯe jan ūṯam janak janāk.
The Lord, Har, Har, is within the humble Saints of the Lord; they are exalted - they know, and they inspire others to know as well.

ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਾਸੁ ਬਸਾਨੀ ਛੂਟਿ ਗਈ ਮੁਸਕੀ ਮੁਸਕਾਕ ॥੩॥
तिन हरि हिरदै बासु बसानी छूटि गई मुसकी मुसकाक ॥३॥
Ŧin har hirḏai bās basānī cẖẖūt ga▫ī muskī muskāk. ||3||
The fragrance of the Lord permeates their hearts; they have abandoned the foul stench. ||3||

ਤੁਮਰੇ ਜਨ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਅਪਨਾਕ
तुमरे जन तुम्ह ही प्रभ कीए हरि राखि लेहु आपन अपनाक ॥
Ŧumre jan ṯumĥ hī parabẖ kī▫e har rākẖ leho āpan apnāk.
You make those humble beings Your Own, God; You protect Your Own, O Lord.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸਖਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਕ ॥੪॥੪॥
जन नानक के सखा हरि भाई मात पिता बंधप हरि साक ॥४॥४॥
Jan Nānak ke sakẖā har bẖā▫ī māṯ piṯā banḏẖap har sāk. ||4||4||
The Lord is servant Nanak's companion; the Lord is his sibling, mother, father, relative and relation. ||4||4||

ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਚੀਤਿ
मेरे मन हरि हरि राम नामु जपि चीति ॥
Mere man har har rām nām jap cẖīṯ.
O my mind, consciously chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਗੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਵੇੜ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲੀਓ ਗੜੁ ਜੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
हरि हरि वसतु माइआ गड़्हि वेड़्ही गुर कै सबदि लीओ गड़ु जीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har har vasaṯ mā▫i▫ā gaṛėh veṛĥī gur kai sabaḏ lī▫o gaṛ jīṯ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The commodity of the Lord, Har, Har, is locked in the fortress of Maya; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I have conquered the fortress. ||1||Pause||

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਬਹੁ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਆ ਲੁਬਧੋ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਮੋਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ
मिथिआ भरमि भरमि बहु भ्रमिआ लुबधो पुत्र कलत्र मोह प्रीति ॥
Mithi▫ā bẖaram bẖaram baho bẖarmi▫ā lubḏẖo puṯar kalṯar moh parīṯ.
In false doubt and superstition, people wander all around, lured by love and emotional attachment to their children and families.

ਜੈਸੇ ਤਰਵਰ ਕੀ ਤੁਛ ਛਾਇਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਦੇਹ ਭੀਤਿ ॥੧॥
जैसे तरवर की तुछ छाइआ खिन महि बिनसि जाइ देह भीति ॥१॥
Jaise ṯarvar kī ṯucẖẖ cẖẖā▫i▫ā kẖin mėh binas jā▫e ḏeh bẖīṯ. ||1||
But just like the passing shade of the tree, your body-wall shall crumble in an instant. ||1||

ਹਮਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜਨ ਊਤਮ ਜਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਿ
हमरे प्रान प्रीतम जन ऊतम जिन मिलिआ मनि होइ प्रतीति ॥
Hamre parān parīṯam jan ūṯam jin mili▫ā man ho▫e parṯīṯ.
The humble beings are exalted; they are my breath of life and my beloveds; meeting them, my mind is filled with faith.

ਪਰਚੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥
परचै रामु रविआ घट अंतरि असथिरु रामु रविआ रंगि प्रीति ॥२॥
Parcẖai rām ravi▫ā gẖat anṯar asthir rām ravi▫ā rang parīṯ. ||2||
Deep within the heart, I am happy with the Pervading Lord; with love and joy, I dwell upon the Steady and Stable Lord. ||2||
