ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਅਤੁਲੁ ਕਿਉ ਤੋਲੀਐ ਵਿਣੁ ਤੋਲੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ
अतुलु किउ तोलीऐ विणु तोले पाइआ न जाइ ॥
Aṯul ki▫o ṯolī▫ai viṇ ṯole pā▫i▫ā na jā▫e.
How can the unweighable be weighed? Without weighing Him, He cannot be obtained.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਗੁਣ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ
गुर कै सबदि वीचारीऐ गुण महि रहै समाइ ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ vīcẖārī▫ai guṇ mėh rahai samā▫e.
Reflect on the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and immerse yourself in His Glorious Virtues.

ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਆਪਿ ਤੋਲਸੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇ
अपणा आपु आपि तोलसी आपे मिलै मिलाइ ॥
Apṇā āp āp ṯolsī āpe milai milā▫e.
He Himself weighs Himself; He unites in Union with Himself.

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਜਾਇ
तिस की कीमति ना पवै कहणा किछू न जाइ ॥
Ŧis kī kīmaṯ nā pavai kahṇā kicẖẖū na jā▫e.
His value cannot be estimated; nothing can be said about this.

ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੀ ਬੂਝ ਦਿਤੀ ਬੁਝਾਇ
हउ बलिहारी गुर आपणे जिनि सची बूझ दिती बुझाइ ॥
Ha▫o balihārī gur āpṇe jin sacẖī būjẖ ḏiṯī bujẖā▫e.
I am a sacrifice to my Guru; He has made me realize this true realization.

ਜਗਤੁ ਮੁਸੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਲੁਟੀਐ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੂਝ ਪਾਇ
जगतु मुसै अम्रितु लुटीऐ मनमुख बूझ न पाइ ॥
Jagaṯ musai amriṯ lūtī▫ai manmukẖ būjẖ na pā▫e.
The world has been deceived, and the Ambrosial Nectar is being plundered. The self-willed manmukh does not realize this.

ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਚਲਸੀ ਜਾਸੀ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ
विणु नावै नालि न चलसी जासी जनमु गवाइ ॥
viṇ nāvai nāl na cẖalsī jāsī janam gavā▫e.
Without the Name, nothing will go along with him; he wastes his life, and departs.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਜਾਗੇ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਘਰੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਦੂਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਾਇ ॥੮॥
गुरमती जागे तिन्ही घरु रखिआ दूता का किछु न वसाइ ॥८॥
Gurmaṯī jāge ṯinĥī gẖar rakẖi▫ā ḏūṯā kā kicẖẖ na vasā▫e. ||8||
Those who follow the Guru's Teachings and remain awake and aware, preserve and protect the home of their heart; demons have no power against them. ||8||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਬਾਬੀਹਾ ਨਾ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ਨਾ ਤਰਸਾਇ ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ
बाबीहा ना बिललाइ ना तरसाइ एहु मनु खसम का हुकमु मंनि ॥
Bābīhā nā billā▫e nā ṯarsā▫e ehu man kẖasam kā hukam man.
O rainbird, do not cry out. Do not let this mind of yours be so thirsty for a drop of water. Obey the Hukam, the Command of your Lord and Master,

ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਤਿਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਚੜੈ ਚਵਗਲਿ ਵੰਨੁ ॥੧॥
नानक हुकमि मंनिऐ तिख उतरै चड़ै चवगलि वंनु ॥१॥
Nānak hukam mani▫ai ṯikẖ uṯrai cẖaṛai cẖavgal vann. ||1||
and your thirst shall be quenched. Your love for Him shall increase four-fold. ||1||

Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਬਾਬੀਹਾ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਵਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਜਲ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਫਿਰਾਹਿ
बाबीहा जल महि तेरा वासु है जल ही माहि फिराहि ॥
Bābīhā jal mėh ṯerā vās hai jal hī māhi firāhi.
O rainbird, your place is in the water; you move around in the water.

ਜਲ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਜਾਣਹੀ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਕੂਕਣ ਪਾਹਿ
जल की सार न जाणही तां तूं कूकण पाहि ॥
Jal kī sār na jāṇhī ṯāʼn ṯūʼn kūkaṇ pāhi.
But you do not appreciate the water, and so you cry out.

ਜਲ ਥਲ ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਵਰਸਦਾ ਖਾਲੀ ਕੋ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹਿ
जल थल चहु दिसि वरसदा खाली को थाउ नाहि ॥
Jal thal cẖahu ḏis varasḏā kẖālī ko thā▫o nāhi.
In the water and on the land, it rains down in the ten directions. No place is left dry.

ਏਤੈ ਜਲਿ ਵਰਸਦੈ ਤਿਖ ਮਰਹਿ ਭਾਗ ਤਿਨਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ
एतै जलि वरसदै तिख मरहि भाग तिना के नाहि ॥
Ėṯai jal varsaḏai ṯikẖ marėh bẖāg ṯinā ke nāhi.
With so much rain, those who are die of thirst are very unfortunate.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਈ ਜਿਨ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
नानक गुरमुखि तिन सोझी पई जिन वसिआ मन माहि ॥२॥
Nānak gurmukẖ ṯin sojẖī pa▫ī jin vasi▫ā man māhi. ||2||
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs understand; the Lord abides within their minds. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਨਾਥ ਜਤੀ ਸਿਧ ਪੀਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਇਆ
नाथ जती सिध पीर किनै अंतु न पाइआ ॥
Nāth jaṯī siḏẖ pīr kinai anṯ na pā▫i▫ā.
The Yogic Masters, celibates, Siddhas and spiritual teachers - none of them has found the limits of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੁਝੈ ਸਮਾਇਆ
गुरमुखि नामु धिआइ तुझै समाइआ ॥
Gurmukẖ nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e ṯujẖai samā▫i▫ā.
The Gurmukhs meditate on the Naam, and merge in You, O Lord.

ਜੁਗ ਛਤੀਹ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਭਾਇਆ
जुग छतीह गुबारु तिस ही भाइआ ॥
Jug cẖẖaṯīh gubār ṯis hī bẖā▫i▫ā.
For thirty-six ages, God remained in utter darkness, as He pleased.

ਜਲਾ ਬਿੰਬੁ ਅਸਰਾਲੁ ਤਿਨੈ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ
जला बि्मबु असरालु तिनै वरताइआ ॥
Jalā bimb asrāl ṯinai varṯā▫i▫ā.
The vast expanse of water swirled around.

ਨੀਲੁ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਸਰਜੀਤੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ
नीलु अनीलु अगमु सरजीतु सबाइआ ॥
Nīl anīl agamm sarjīṯ sabā▫i▫ā.
The Creator of all is Infinite, Endless and Inaccessible.

ਅਗਨਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਵਾਦੁ ਭੁਖ ਤਿਹਾਇਆ
अगनि उपाई वादु भुख तिहाइआ ॥
Agan upā▫ī vāḏ bẖukẖ ṯihā▫i▫ā.
He formed fire and conflict, hunger and thirst.

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਇਆ
दुनीआ कै सिरि कालु दूजा भाइआ ॥
Ḏunī▫ā kai sir kāl ḏūjā bẖā▫i▫ā.
Death hangs over the heads of the people of the world, in the love of duality.

ਰਖੈ ਰਖਣਹਾਰੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ॥੯॥
रखै रखणहारु जिनि सबदु बुझाइआ ॥९॥
Rakẖai rakẖaṇhār jin sabaḏ bujẖā▫i▫ā. ||9||
The Savior Lord saves those who realize the Word of the Shabad. ||9||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਇਹੁ ਜਲੁ ਸਭ ਤੈ ਵਰਸਦਾ ਵਰਸੈ ਭਾਇ ਸੁਭਾਇ
इहु जलु सभ तै वरसदा वरसै भाइ सुभाइ ॥
Ih jal sabẖ ṯai varasḏā varsai bẖā▫e subẖā▫e.
This rain pours down on all; it rains down in accordance with God's Loving Will.

ਸੇ ਬਿਰਖਾ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੇ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ
से बिरखा हरीआवले जो गुरमुखि रहे समाइ ॥
Se birkẖā harī▫āvle jo gurmukẖ rahe samā▫e.
Those trees become green and lush, which remain immersed in the Guru's Word.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਏਨਾ ਜੰਤਾ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
नानक नदरी सुखु होइ एना जंता का दुखु जाइ ॥१॥
Nānak naḏrī sukẖ ho▫e enā janṯā kā ḏukẖ jā▫e. ||1||
O Nanak, by His Grace, there is peace; the pain of these creatures is gone. ||1||

Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਭਿੰਨੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਵੁਠਾ ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਇ
भिंनी रैणि चमकिआ वुठा छहबर लाइ ॥
Bẖinnī raiṇ cẖamki▫ā vuṯẖā cẖẖahbar lā▫e.
The night is wet with dew; lightning flashes, and the rain pours down in torrents.

ਜਿਤੁ ਵੁਠੈ ਅਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਹੁ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ
जितु वुठै अनु धनु बहुतु ऊपजै जां सहु करे रजाइ ॥
Jiṯ vuṯẖai an ḏẖan bahuṯ ūpjai jāʼn saho kare rajā▫e.
Food and wealth are produced in abundance when it rains, if it is the Will of God.

ਜਿਤੁ ਖਾਧੈ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀਐ ਜੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ
जितु खाधै मनु त्रिपतीऐ जीआं जुगति समाइ ॥
Jiṯ kẖāḏẖai man ṯaripaṯ▫ī▫ai jī▫āʼn jugaṯ samā▫e.
Consuming it, the minds of His creatures are satisfied, and they adopt the lifestyle of the way.

ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਹੈ ਕਦੇ ਆਵੈ ਕਦੇ ਜਾਇ
इहु धनु करते का खेलु है कदे आवै कदे जाइ ॥
Ih ḏẖan karṯe kā kẖel hai kaḏe āvai kaḏe jā▫e.
This wealth is the play of the Creator Lord. Sometimes it comes, and sometimes it goes.

ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ
गिआनीआ का धनु नामु है सद ही रहै समाइ ॥
Gi▫ānī▫ā kā ḏẖan nām hai saḏ hī rahai samā▫e.
The Naam is the wealth of the spiritually wise. It is permeating and pervading forever.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
नानक जिन कउ नदरि करे तां इहु धनु पलै पाइ ॥२॥
Nānak jin ka▫o naḏar kare ṯāʼn ih ḏẖan palai pā▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, those who are blessed with His Glance of Grace receive this wealth. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਉ ਕੈ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ
आपि कराए करे आपि हउ कै सिउ करी पुकार ॥
Āp karā▫e kare āp ha▫o kai si▫o karī pukār.
He Himself does, and causes all to be done. Unto whom can I complain?

ਆਪੇ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗਸੀ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ਕਾਰ
आपे लेखा मंगसी आपि कराए कार ॥
Āpe lekẖā mangsī āp karā▫e kār.
He Himself calls the mortal beings to account; He Himself causes them to act.

ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਗਾਵਾਰੁ
जो तिसु भावै सो थीऐ हुकमु करे गावारु ॥
Jo ṯis bẖāvai so thī▫ai hukam kare gāvār.
Whatever pleases Him happens. Only a fool issues commands.

ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਏ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ
आपि छडाए छुटीऐ आपे बखसणहारु ॥
Āp cẖẖadā▫e cẖẖutī▫ai āpe bakẖsaṇhār.
He Himself saves and redeems; He Himself is the Forgiver.

ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੇ ਆਪਿ ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰੁ
आपे वेखै सुणे आपि सभसै दे आधारु ॥
Āpe vekẖai suṇe āp sabẖsai ḏe āḏẖār.
He Himself sees, and He Himself hears; He gives His Support to all.

ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ
सभ महि एकु वरतदा सिरि सिरि करे बीचारु ॥
Sabẖ mėh ek varaṯḏā sir sir kare bīcẖār.
He alone is pervading and permeating all; He considers each and every one.
