ਜਬ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਆਇ ਬਸੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਸਨਿ ਤਬ ਹਮ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
जब प्रिअ आइ बसे ग्रिहि आसनि तब हम मंगलु गाइआ ॥
Jab pari▫a ā▫e base garihi āsan ṯab ham mangal gā▫i▫ā.
When my Beloved came to live in my house, I began to sing the songs of bliss.

ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
मीत साजन मेरे भए सुहेले प्रभु पूरा गुरू मिलाइआ ॥३॥
Mīṯ sājan mere bẖa▫e suhele parabẖ pūrā gurū milā▫i▫ā. ||3||
My friends and companions are happy; God leads me to meet the Perfect Guru. ||3||

ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਹਮਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
सखी सहेली भए अनंदा गुरि कारज हमरे पूरे ॥
Sakẖī sahelī bẖa▫e ananḏā gur kāraj hamre pūre.
My friends and companions are in ecstasy; the Guru has completed all my projects.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਦੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥
कहु नानक वरु मिलिआ सुखदाता छोडि न जाई दूरे ॥४॥३॥
Kaho Nānak var mili▫ā sukẖ▫ḏāṯa cẖẖod na jā▫ī ḏūre. ||4||3||
Says Nanak, I have met my Husband, the Giver of peace; He shall never leave me and go away. ||4||3||

ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਕੀਟ ਕੀਟ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਪਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਖ ਜਠਰ ਕਉ ਭਰਤੇ ॥
राज ते कीट कीट ते सुरपति करि दोख जठर कउ भरते ॥
Rāj ṯe kīt kīt ṯe surpaṯ kar ḏokẖ jaṯẖar ka▫o bẖarṯe.
From a king to a worm, and from a worm to the lord of gods, they engage in evil to fill their bellies.

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਆਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ਹਰਤੇ ॥੧॥
क्रिपा निधि छोडि आन कउ पूजहि आतम घाती हरते ॥१॥
Kirpā niḏẖ cẖẖod ān ka▫o pūjėh āṯam gẖāṯī harṯe. ||1||
They renounce the Lord, the Ocean of Mercy, and worship some other; they are thieves and killers of the soul. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਤੇ ਦੁਖਿ ਦੁਖਿ ਮਰਤੇ ॥
हरि बिसरत ते दुखि दुखि मरते ॥
Har bisraṯ ṯe ḏukẖ ḏukẖ marṯe.
Forgetting the Lord, they suffer in sorrow and die.

ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਭ੍ਰਮਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਟੇਕ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਧਰਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनिक बार भ्रमहि बहु जोनी टेक न काहू धरते ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Anik bār bẖarmėh baho jonī tek na kāhū ḏẖarṯe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
They wander lost in reincarnation through all sorts of species; they do not find shelter anywhere. ||1||Pause||

ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਨ ਕਉ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਖਲ ਖਰ ਤੇ ॥
तिआगि सुआमी आन कउ चितवत मूड़ मुगध खल खर ते ॥
Ŧi▫āg su▫āmī ān ka▫o cẖiṯvaṯ mūṛ mugaḏẖ kẖal kẖar ṯe.
Those who abandon their Lord and Master and think of some other, are foolish, stupid, idiotic donkeys.

ਕਾਗਰ ਨਾਵ ਲੰਘਹਿ ਕਤ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਕਥਤ ਹਮ ਤਰਤੇ ॥੨॥
कागर नाव लंघहि कत सागरु ब्रिथा कथत हम तरते ॥२॥
Kāgar nāv langẖėh kaṯ sāgar baritha kathaṯ ham ṯarṯe. ||2||
How can they cross over the ocean in a paper boat? Their egotistical boasts that they will cross over are meaningless. ||2||

ਸਿਵ ਬਿਰੰਚਿ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੁਰ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਰਤੇ ॥
सिव बिरंचि असुर सुर जेते काल अगनि महि जरते ॥
Siv birancẖ asur sur jeṯe kāl agan mėh jarṯe.
Shiva, Brahma, angels and demons, all burn in the fire of death.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਨ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਨ ਡਾਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਤੇ ॥੩॥੪॥
नानक सरनि चरन कमलन की तुम्ह न डारहु प्रभ करते ॥३॥४॥
Nānak saran cẖaran kamlan kī ṯumĥ na dārahu parabẖ karṯe. ||3||4||
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord's Lotus Feet; O God, Creator, please do not send me into exile. ||3||4||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਓਇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
प्रभ मेरे ओइ बैरागी तिआगी ॥
Parabẖ mere o▫e bairāgī ṯi▫āgī.
My God is detached and free of desire.

ਹਉ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हउ इकु खिनु तिसु बिनु रहि न सकउ प्रीति हमारी लागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ha▫o ik kẖin ṯis bin rėh na saka▫o parīṯ hamārī lāgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I cannot survive without Him, even for an instant. I am so in love with Him. ||1||Pause||

ਉਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਜਾਗੀ ॥
उन कै संगि मोहि प्रभु चिति आवै संत प्रसादि मोहि जागी ॥
Un kai sang mohi parabẖ cẖiṯ āvai sanṯ parsāḏ mohi jāgī.
Associating with the Saints, God has come into my consciousness. By their Grace, I have been awakened.

ਸੁਨਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਂਗੀ ॥੧॥
सुनि उपदेसु भए मन निरमल गुन गाए रंगि रांगी ॥१॥
Sun upḏes bẖa▫e man nirmal gun gā▫e rang rāʼngī. ||1||
Hearing the Teachings, my mind has become immaculate. Imbued with the Lord's Love, I sing His Glorious Praises. ||1||

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਕੀਏ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਭਏ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
इहु मनु देइ कीए संत मीता क्रिपाल भए बडभागीं ॥
Ih man ḏe▫e kī▫e sanṯ mīṯā kirpāl bẖa▫e badbẖāgīʼn.
Dedicating this mind, I have made friends with the Saints. They have become merciful to me; I am very fortunate.

ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਰੇਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਪਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੧॥੫॥
महा सुखु पाइआ बरनि न साकउ रेनु नानक जन पागी ॥२॥१॥५॥
Mahā sukẖ pā▫i▫ā baran na sāka▫o ren Nānak jan pāgī. ||2||1||5||
I have found absolute peace - I cannot describe it. Nanak has obtained the dust of the feet of the humble. ||2||1||5||

ਮਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
माई मोहि प्रीतमु देहु मिलाई ॥
Mā▫ī mohi parīṯam ḏeh milā▫ī.
O mother, please lead me to union with my Beloved.

ਸਗਲ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਸੁਖ ਭਰਿ ਸੂਤੀ ਜਿਹ ਘਰਿ ਲਾਲੁ ਬਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सगल सहेली सुख भरि सूती जिह घरि लालु बसाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sagal sahelī sukẖ bẖar sūṯī jih gẖar lāl basā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
All my friends and companions sleep totally in peace; their Beloved Lord has come into the homes of their hearts. ||1||Pause||

ਮੋਹਿ ਅਵਗਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨਿ ਕਿਆ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
मोहि अवगन प्रभु सदा दइआला मोहि निरगुनि किआ चतुराई ॥
Mohi avgan parabẖ saḏā ḏa▫i▫ālā mohi nirgun ki▫ā cẖaṯurā▫ī.
I am worthless; God is forever Merciful. I am unworthy; what clever tricks could I try?

ਕਰਉ ਬਰਾਬਰਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਕੀ ਢੀਠਾਈ ॥੧॥
करउ बराबरि जो प्रिअ संगि रातीं इह हउमै की ढीठाई ॥१॥
Kara▫o barābar jo pari▫a sang rāṯīʼn ih ha▫umai kī dẖīṯẖā▫ī. ||1||
I claim to be on a par with those who are imbued with the Love of their Beloved. This is my stubborn egotism. ||1||
|
ਭਈ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਇਕ ਤਾਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
भई निमाणी सरनि इक ताकी गुर सतिगुर पुरख सुखदाई ॥
Bẖa▫ī nimāṇī saran ik ṯākī gur saṯgur purakẖ sukẖ▫ḏā▫ī.
I am dishonored - I seek the Sanctuary of the One, the Guru, the True Guru, the Primal Being, the Giver of peace.

ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਹਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਾਈ ॥੨॥੨॥੬॥
एक निमख महि मेरा सभु दुखु काटिआ नानक सुखि रैनि बिहाई ॥२॥२॥६॥
Ėk nimakẖ mėh merā sabẖ ḏukẖ kāti▫ā Nānak sukẖ rain bihā▫ī. ||2||2||6||
In an instant, all my pains have been taken away; Nanak passes the night of his life in peace. ||2||2||6||

बरसु मेघ जी तिलु बिलमु न लाउ ॥
Baras megẖ jī ṯil bilam na lā▫o.
Rain down, O cloud; do not delay.

ਬਰਸੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਧਾਰੇ ਹੋਇ ਅਨਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बरसु पिआरे मनहि सधारे होइ अनदु सदा मनि चाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Baras pi▫āre manėh saḏẖāre ho▫e anaḏ saḏā man cẖā▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O beloved cloud, O support of the mind, you bring lasting bliss and joy to the mind. ||1||Pause||

ਹਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਧਰ ਸੁਆਮੀਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੇ ॥
हम तेरी धर सुआमीआ मेरे तू किउ मनहु बिसारे ॥
Ham ṯerī ḏẖar su▫āmī▫ā mere ṯū ki▫o manhu bisāre.
I take to Your Support, O my Lord and Master; how could You forget me?
