ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥
जीअ दानु देइ त्रिपतासे सचै नामि समाही ॥
Jī▫a ḏān ḏe▫e ṯaripṯāse sacẖai nām samāhī.
Bestowing the gift of the soul, He satisfies the mortal beings, and merges them in the True Name.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
अनदिनु हरि रविआ रिद अंतरि सहजि समाधि लगाही ॥२॥
An▫ḏin har ravi▫ā riḏ anṯar sahj samāḏẖ lagāhī. ||2||
Night and day, they ravish and enjoy the Lord within the heart; they are intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੇਦਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
सतिगुर सबदी इहु मनु भेदिआ हिरदै साची बाणी ॥
Saṯgur sabḏī ih man bẖeḏi▫ā hirḏai sācẖī baṇī.
The Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, has pierced my mind. The True Word of His Bani permeates my heart.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
मेरा प्रभु अलखु न जाई लखिआ गुरमुखि अकथ कहाणी ॥
Merā parabẖ alakẖ na jā▫ī lakẖi▫ā gurmukẖ akath kahāṇī.
My God is Unseen; He cannot be seen. The Gurmukh speaks the Unspoken.

ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
आपे दइआ करे सुखदाता जपीऐ सारिंगपाणी ॥३॥
Āpe ḏa▫i▫ā kare sukẖ▫ḏāṯa japī▫ai sāringpāṇī. ||3||
When the Giver of peace grants His Grace, the mortal being meditates on the Lord, the Life of the Universe. ||3||

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
आवण जाणा बहुड़ि न होवै गुरमुखि सहजि धिआइआ ॥
Āvaṇ jāṇā bahuṛ na hovai gurmukẖ sahj ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
He does not come and go in reincarnation any longer; the Gurmukh meditates intuitively.

ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਨੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
मन ही ते मनु मिलिआ सुआमी मन ही मंनु समाइआ ॥
Man hī ṯe man mili▫ā su▫āmī man hī man samā▫i▫ā.
From the mind, the mind merges into our Lord and Master; the mind is absorbed into the Mind.

ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
साचे ही सचु साचि पतीजै विचहु आपु गवाइआ ॥४॥
Sācẖe hī sacẖ sācẖ paṯījai vicẖahu āp gavā▫i▫ā. ||4||
In truth, the True Lord is pleased with truth; eradicate egotism from within yourself. ||4||

ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
एको एकु वसै मनि सुआमी दूजा अवरु न कोई ॥
Ėko ek vasai man su▫āmī ḏūjā avar na ko▫ī.
Our One and Only Lord and Master dwells within the mind; there is no other at all.

ਏਕੋੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ ਜਗਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
एको नामु अम्रितु है मीठा जगि निरमल सचु सोई ॥
Ėko nām amriṯ hai mīṯẖā jag nirmal sacẖ so▫ī.
The One Name is Sweet Ambrosial Nectar; it is Immaculate Truth in the world.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੪॥
नानक नामु प्रभू ते पाईऐ जिन कउ धुरि लिखिआ होई ॥५॥४॥
Nānak nām parabẖū ṯe pā▫ī▫ai jin ka▫o ḏẖur likẖi▫ā ho▫ī. ||5||4||
O Nanak, the Name of God is obtained, by those who are so predestined. ||5||4||

ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਭਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
गण गंधरब नामे सभि उधरे गुर का सबदु वीचारि ॥
Gaṇ ganḏẖarab nāme sabẖ uḏẖre gur kā sabaḏ vīcẖār.
All the heavenly heralds and celestial singers are saved through the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਦ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
हउमै मारि सद मंनि वसाइआ हरि राखिआ उरि धारि ॥
Ha▫umai mār saḏ man vasā▫i▫ā har rākẖi▫ā ur ḏẖār.
They contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad. Subduing their ego, the Name abides in their minds; they keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
जिसहि बुझाए सोई बूझै जिस नो आपे लए मिलाइ ॥
Jisahi bujẖā▫e so▫ī būjẖai jis no āpe la▫e milā▫e.
He alone understands, whom the Lord causes to understand; the Lord unites him with Himself.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਗਾਂਵੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
अनदिनु बाणी सबदे गांवै साचि रहै लिव लाइ ॥१॥
An▫ḏin baṇī sabḏe gāʼnvai sācẖ rahai liv lā▫e. ||1||
Night and day, he sings the Word of the Shabad and the Guru's Bani; he remains lovingly attuned to the True Lord. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥
मन मेरे खिनु खिनु नामु सम्हालि ॥
Man mere kẖin kẖin nām samĥāl.
O my mind, each and every moment, dwell on the Naam.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर की दाति सबद सुखु अंतरि सदा निबहै तेरै नालि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur kī ḏāṯ sabaḏ sukẖ anṯar saḏā nibhai ṯerai nāl. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The Shabad is the Guru's Gift. It shall bring you lasting peace deep within; it shall always stand by you. ||1||Pause||
|
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
मनमुख पाखंडु कदे न चूकै दूजै भाइ दुखु पाए ॥
Manmukẖ pakẖand kaḏe na cẖūkai ḏūjai bẖā▫e ḏukẖ pā▫e.
The self-willed manmukhs never give up their hypocrisy; in the love of duality, they suffer in pain.

ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
नामु विसारि बिखिआ मनि राते बिरथा जनमु गवाए ॥
Nām visār bikẖi▫ā man rāṯe birthā janam gavā▫e.
Forgetting the Naam, their minds are imbued with corruption. They waste away their lives uselessly.

ਇਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ॥
इह वेला फिरि हथि न आवै अनदिनु सदा पछुताए ॥
Ih velā fir hath na āvai an▫ḏin saḏā pacẖẖuṯā▫e.
This opportunity shall not come into their hands again; night and day, they shall always regret and repent.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੨॥
मरि मरि जनमै कदे न बूझै विसटा माहि समाए ॥२॥
Mar mar janmai kaḏe na būjẖai vistā māhi samā▫e. ||2||
They die and die again and again, only to be reborn, but they never understand. They rot away in manure. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
गुरमुखि नामि रते से उधरे गुर का सबदु वीचारि ॥
Gurmukẖ nām raṯe se uḏẖre gur kā sabaḏ vīcẖār.
The Gurmukhs are imbued with the Naam, and are saved; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
जीवन मुकति हरि नामु धिआइआ हरि राखिआ उरि धारि ॥
Jīvan mukaṯ har nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā har rākẖi▫ā ur ḏẖār.
Meditating on the Name of the Lord, they are Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive. They enshrine the Lord within their hearts.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
मनु तनु निरमलु निरमल मति ऊतम ऊतम बाणी होई ॥
Man ṯan nirmal nirmal maṯ ūṯam ūṯam baṇī ho▫ī.
Their minds and bodies are immaculate, their intellect is immaculate and sublime. Their speech is sublime as well.

ਏਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
एको पुरखु एकु प्रभु जाता दूजा अवरु न कोई ॥३॥
Ėko purakẖ ek parabẖ jāṯā ḏūjā avar na ko▫ī. ||3||
They realize the One Primal Being, the One Lord God. There is no other at all. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
आपे करे कराए प्रभु आपे आपे नदरि करेइ ॥
Āpe kare karā▫e parabẖ āpe āpe naḏar kare▫i.
God Himself is the Doer, and He Himself is the Cause of causes. He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮੇਇ ॥
मनु तनु राता गुर की बाणी सेवा सुरति समेइ ॥
Man ṯan rāṯā gur kī baṇī sevā suraṯ same▫e.
My mind and body are imbued with the Word of the Guru's Bani. My consciousness is immersed in His service.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਲਖਾਇ ॥
अंतरि वसिआ अलख अभेवा गुरमुखि होइ लखाइ ॥
Anṯar vasi▫ā alakẖ abẖevā gurmukẖ ho▫e lakẖā▫e.
The Unseen and Inscrutable Lord dwells deep within. He is seen only by the Gurmukh.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
नानक जिसु भावै तिसु आपे देवै भावै तिवै चलाइ ॥४॥५॥
Nānak jis bẖāvai ṯis āpe ḏevai bẖāvai ṯivai cẖalā▫e. ||4||5||
O Nanak, He gives to whomever He pleases. According to the Pleasure of His Will, He leads the mortals on. ||4||5||

ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਦੁਤੁਕੇ ॥
मलार महला ३ दुतुके ॥

Malaar, Third Mehl, Du-Tukas:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
सतिगुर ते पावै घरु दरु महलु सु थानु ॥
Saṯgur ṯe pāvai gẖar ḏar mahal so thān.
Through the True Guru, the mortal obtains the special place, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence in his own home.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
गुर सबदी चूकै अभिमानु ॥१॥
Gur sabḏī cẖūkai abẖimān. ||1||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, his egotistical pride is dispelled. ||1||
|
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
जिन कउ लिलाटि लिखिआ धुरि नामु ॥
Jin ka▫o lilāt likẖi▫ā ḏẖur nām.
Those who have the Naam inscribed on their foreheads,
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अनदिनु नामु सदा सदा धिआवहि साची दरगह पावहि मानु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
An▫ḏin nām saḏā saḏā ḏẖi▫āvahi sācẖī ḏargėh pāvahi mān. ||1|| rahā▫o.
meditate on the Naam night and day, forever and ever. They are honored in the True Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
मन की बिधि सतिगुर ते जाणै अनदिनु लागै सद हरि सिउ धिआनु ॥
Man kī biḏẖ saṯgur ṯe jāṇai an▫ḏin lāgai saḏ har si▫o ḏẖi▫ān.
From the True Guru, they learn the ways and means of the mind. Night and day, they focus their meditation on the Lord forever.
