ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਆ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ਚੂਕਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
जिस ते होआ तिसहि समाणा चूकि गइआ पासारा ॥४॥१॥
Jis ṯe ho▫ā ṯisėh samāṇā cẖūk ga▫i▫ā pāsārā. ||4||1||
It shall eventually merge back into that from which it came, and all its expanse shall be gone. ||4||1||

ਜਿਨੀ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਸੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇ ॥
जिनी हुकमु पछाणिआ से मेले हउमै सबदि जलाइ ॥
Jinī hukam pacẖẖāṇi▫ā se mele ha▫umai sabaḏ jalā▫e.
Those who realize the Hukam of the Lord's Command are united with Him; through the Word of His Shabad, their egotism is burnt away.

ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
सची भगति करहि दिनु राती सचि रहे लिव लाइ ॥
Sacẖī bẖagaṯ karahi ḏin rāṯī sacẖ rahe liv lā▫e.
They perform true devotional worship day and night; they remain lovingly attuned to the True Lord.

ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੧॥
सदा सचु हरि वेखदे गुर कै सबदि सुभाइ ॥१॥
Saḏā sacẖ har vekẖ▫ḏe gur kai sabaḏ subẖā▫e. ||1||
They gaze on their True Lord forever, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, with loving ease. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
मन रे हुकमु मंनि सुखु होइ ॥
Man re hukam man sukẖ ho▫e.
O mortal, accept His Will and find peace.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਭਾਵਦਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
प्रभ भाणा अपणा भावदा जिसु बखसे तिसु बिघनु न कोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Parabẖ bẖāṇā apṇā bẖāvḏā jis bakẖse ṯis bigẖan na ko▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
God is pleased by the Pleasure of His Own Will. Whomever He forgives, meets no obstacles on the way. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਸਭਾ ਧਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਭਾਇ ॥
त्रै गुण सभा धातु है ना हरि भगति न भाइ ॥
Ŧarai guṇ sabẖā ḏẖāṯ hai nā har bẖagaṯ na bẖā▫e.
Under the influence of the three gunas, the three dispositions, the mind wanders everywhere, without love or devotion to the Lord.

ਗਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
गति मुकति कदे न होवई हउमै करम कमाहि ॥
Gaṯ mukaṯ kaḏe na hova▫ī ha▫umai karam kamāhi.
No one is ever saved or liberated, by doing deeds in ego.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਪਇਐ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਫਿਰਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
साहिब भावै सो थीऐ पइऐ किरति फिराहि ॥२॥
Sāhib bẖāvai so thī▫ai pa▫i▫ai kiraṯ firāhi. ||2||
Whatever our Lord and Master wills, comes to pass. People wander according to their past actions. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਿਐ ਮਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਰਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
सतिगुर भेटिऐ मनु मरि रहै हरि नामु वसै मनि आइ ॥
Saṯgur bẖeti▫ai man mar rahai har nām vasai man ā▫e.
Meeting with the True Guru, the mind is overpowered; the Lord's Name comes to abide in the mind.

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
तिस की कीमति ना पवै कहणा किछू न जाइ ॥
Ŧis kī kīmaṯ nā pavai kahṇā kicẖẖū na jā▫e.
The value of such a person cannot be estimated; nothing at all can be said about him.

ਚਉਥੈ ਪਦਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
चउथै पदि वासा होइआ सचै रहै समाइ ॥३॥
Cẖa▫uthai paḏ vāsā ho▫i▫ā sacẖai rahai samā▫e. ||3||
He comes to dwell in the fourth state; he remains merged in the True Lord. ||3||
|
ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਹੈ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
मेरा हरि प्रभु अगमु अगोचरु है कीमति कहणु न जाइ ॥
Merā har parabẖ agam agocẖar hai kīmaṯ kahaṇ na jā▫e.
My Lord God is Inaccessible and Unfathomable. His value cannot be expressed.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਸਬਦੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
गुर परसादी बुझीऐ सबदे कार कमाइ ॥
Gur parsādī bujẖī▫ai sabḏe kār kamā▫e.
By Guru's Grace, he comes to understand, and live the Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
नानक नामु सलाहि तू हरि हरि दरि सोभा पाइ ॥४॥२॥
Nānak nām salāhi ṯū har har ḏar sobẖā pā▫e. ||4||2||
O Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. ||4||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
गुरमुखि कोई विरला बूझै जिस नो नदरि करेइ ॥
Gurmukẖ ko▫ī virlā būjẖai jis no naḏar kare▫i.
Rare is that person who, as Gurmukh, understands; the Lord has bestowed His Glance of Grace.

ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਖਸੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
गुर बिनु दाता कोई नाही बखसे नदरि करेइ ॥
Gur bin ḏāṯā ko▫ī nāhī bakẖse naḏar kare▫i.
There is no Giver except the Guru. He grants His Grace and forgives.

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਊਪਜੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏਇ ॥੧॥
गुर मिलिऐ सांति ऊपजै अनदिनु नामु लएइ ॥१॥
Gur mili▫ai sāʼnṯ ūpjai an▫ḏin nām la▫e▫e. ||1||
Meeting the Guru, peace and tranquility well up; chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, day and night. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
मेरे मन हरि अम्रित नामु धिआइ ॥
Mere man har amriṯ nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
O my mind, meditate on the Ambrosial Name of the Lord.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਾਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतिगुरु पुरखु मिलै नाउ पाईऐ हरि नामे सदा समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṯgur purakẖ milai nā▫o pā▫ī▫ai har nāme saḏā samā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Meeting with the True Guru and the Primal Being, the Name is obtained, and one remains forever absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
मनमुख सदा विछुड़े फिरहि कोइ न किस ही नालि ॥
Manmukẖ saḏā vicẖẖuṛe firėh ko▫e na kis hī nāl.
The self-willed manmukhs are forever separated from the Lord; no one is with them.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਡਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ॥
हउमै वडा रोगु है सिरि मारे जमकालि ॥
Ha▫umai vadā rog hai sir māre jamkāl.
They are stricken with the great disease of egotism; they are hit on the head by the Messenger of Death.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥੨॥
गुरमति सतसंगति न विछुड़हि अनदिनु नामु सम्हालि ॥२॥
Gurmaṯ saṯsangaṯ na vicẖẖuṛėh an▫ḏin nām samĥāl. ||2||
Those who follow the Guru's Teachings are never separated from the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. They dwell on the Naam, night and day. ||2||
|
ਸਭਨਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਤੂ ਨਿਤ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
सभना करता एकु तू नित करि देखहि वीचारु ॥
Sabẖnā karṯā ek ṯū niṯ kar ḏekẖėh vīcẖār.
You are the One and Only Creator of all. You continually create, watch over and contemplate.

ਇਕਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਬਖਸੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
इकि गुरमुखि आपि मिलाइआ बखसे भगति भंडार ॥
Ik gurmukẖ āp milā▫i▫ā bakẖse bẖagaṯ bẖandār.
Some are Gurmukh - You unite them with Yourself. You bless then with the treasure of devotion.

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਕਾਰ ॥੩॥
तू आपे सभु किछु जाणदा किसु आगै करी पूकार ॥३॥
Ŧū āpe sabẖ kicẖẖ jāṇḏā kis āgai karī pūkār. ||3||
You Yourself know everything. Unto whom should I complain? ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
हरि हरि नामु अम्रितु है नदरी पाइआ जाइ ॥
Har har nām amriṯ hai naḏrī pā▫i▫ā jā▫e.
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Ambrosial Nectar. By the Lord's Grace, it is obtained.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
अनदिनु हरि हरि उचरै गुर कै सहजि सुभाइ ॥
An▫ḏin har har ucẖrai gur kai sahj subẖā▫e.
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, night and day, the intuitive peace and poise of the Guru is obtained.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥
नानक नामु निधानु है नामे ही चितु लाइ ॥४॥३॥
Nānak nām niḏẖān hai nāme hī cẖiṯ lā▫e. ||4||3||
O Nanak, the Naam is the greatest treasure. Focus your consciousness on the Naam. ||4||3||

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
गुरु सालाही सदा सुखदाता प्रभु नाराइणु सोई ॥
Gur sālāhī saḏā sukẖ▫ḏāṯa parabẖ nārā▫iṇ so▫ī.
I praise the Guru, the Giver of peace, forever. He truly is the Lord God.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੋਈ ॥
गुर परसादि परम पदु पाइआ वडी वडिआई होई ॥
Gur parsāḏ param paḏ pā▫i▫ā vadī vadi▫ā▫ī ho▫ī.
By Guru's Grace, I have obtained the supreme status. His glorious greatness is glorious!

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥
अनदिनु गुण गावै नित साचे सचि समावै सोई ॥१॥
An▫ḏin guṇ gāvai niṯ sācẖe sacẖ samāvai so▫ī. ||1||
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, merges in the True Lord. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
मन रे गुरमुखि रिदै वीचारि ॥
Man re gurmukẖ riḏai vīcẖār.
O mortal, contemplate the Guru's Word in your heart.

ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਚਲਣੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तजि कूड़ु कुट्मबु हउमै बिखु त्रिसना चलणु रिदै सम्हालि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧaj kūṛ kutamb ha▫umai bikẖ ṯarisnā cẖalaṇ riḏai samĥāl. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Abandon your false family, poisonous egotism and desire; remember in your heart, that you will have to leave. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਹੋਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
सतिगुरु दाता राम नाम का होरु दाता कोई नाही ॥
Saṯgur ḏāṯā rām nām kā hor ḏāṯā ko▫ī nāhī.
The True Guru is the Giver of the Lord's Name. There is no other giver at all.
