ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਉਬਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਰਖਵਾਲਿਆ ॥੩੦॥
नानक गुर सरणाई उबरे हरि गुर रखवालिआ ॥३०॥
Nānak gur sarṇā▫ī ubre har gur rakẖvāli▫ā. ||30||
Nanak has come to the Sanctuary of the Guru, and is saved. The Guru, the Lord, is his Protector. ||30||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਵਾਦੁ ਵਖਾਣਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਸੁਆਇ
पड़ि पड़ि पंडित वादु वखाणदे माइआ मोह सुआइ ॥
Paṛ paṛ pandiṯ vāḏ vkẖāṇḏe mā▫i▫ā moh su▫ā▫e.
Reading and writing, the Pandits engage in debates and disputes; they are attached to the flavors of Maya.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ
दूजै भाइ नामु विसारिआ मन मूरख मिलै सजाइ ॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e nām visāri▫ā man mūrakẖ milai sajā▫e.
In the love of duality, they forget the Naam. Those foolish mortals shall receive their punishment.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਿਸੈ ਸੇਵਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਦੇਦਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਇ
जिन्हि कीते तिसै न सेवन्ही देदा रिजकु समाइ ॥
Jiniĥ kīṯe ṯisai na sevnĥī ḏeḏā rijak samā▫e.
They do not serve the One who created them, who gives sustenance to all.

ਜਮ ਕਾ ਫਾਹਾ ਗਲਹੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਇ
जम का फाहा गलहु न कटीऐ फिरि फिरि आवहि जाइ ॥
Jam kā fāhā galhu na katī▫ai fir fir āvahi jā▫e.
The noose of Death around their necks is not cut off; they come and go in reincarnation, over and over again.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਆਇ
जिन कउ पूरबि लिखिआ सतिगुरु मिलिआ तिन आइ ॥
Jin ka▫o pūrab likẖi▫ā saṯgur mili▫ā ṯin ā▫e.
The True Guru comes and meets those who have such pre-ordained destiny.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
अनदिनु नामु धिआइदे नानक सचि समाइ ॥१॥
An▫ḏin nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏe Nānak sacẖ samā▫e. ||1||
Night and day, they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; O Nanak, they merge into the True Lord. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਸਚੁ ਵਣਜਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਹਿ
सचु वणजहि सचु सेवदे जि गुरमुखि पैरी पाहि ॥
Sacẖ vaṇjahi sacẖ sevḏe jė gurmukẖ pairī pāhi.
Those Gurmukhs who fall at His Feet deal with the True Lord and serve the True Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਚਲਹਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
नानक गुर कै भाणै जे चलहि सहजे सचि समाहि ॥२॥
Nānak gur kai bẖāṇai je cẖalėh sėhje sacẖ samāhi. ||2||
O Nanak, those who walk in harmony with the Guru's Will are intuitively absorbed in the True Lord. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਆਸਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਅਤਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਘਣਾ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ
आसा विचि अति दुखु घणा मनमुखि चितु लाइआ ॥
Āsā vicẖ aṯ ḏukẖ gẖaṇā manmukẖ cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā.
In hope, there is very great pain; the self-willed manmukh focuses his consciousness on it.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ
गुरमुखि भए निरास परम सुखु पाइआ ॥
Gurmukẖ bẖa▫e nirās param sukẖ pā▫i▫ā.
The Gurmukhs become desireless, and attain supreme peace.

ਵਿਚੇ ਗਿਰਹ ਉਦਾਸ ਅਲਿਪਤ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇਆ
विचे गिरह उदास अलिपत लिव लाइआ ॥
vicẖe girah uḏās alipaṯ liv lā▫i▫ā.
In the midst of their household, they remain detached; they are lovingly attuned to the Detached Lord.

ਓਨਾ ਸੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਇਆ
ओना सोगु विजोगु न विआपई हरि भाणा भाइआ ॥
Onā sog vijog na vi▫āpa▫ī har bẖāṇā bẖā▫i▫ā.
Sorrow and separation do not cling to them at all. They are pleased with the Lord's Will.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੩੧॥
नानक हरि सेती सदा रवि रहे धुरि लए मिलाइआ ॥३१॥
Nānak har seṯī saḏā rav rahe ḏẖur la▫e milā▫i▫ā. ||31||
O Nanak, they remain forever immersed in the Primal Lord, who blends them with Himself. ||31||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਪਰਾਈ ਅਮਾਣ ਕਿਉ ਰਖੀਐ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ
पराई अमाण किउ रखीऐ दिती ही सुखु होइ ॥
Parā▫ī amāṇ ki▫o rakẖī▫ai ḏiṯī hī sukẖ ho▫e.
Why keep what is held in trust for another? Giving it back, peace is found.

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰ ਥੈ ਟਿਕੈ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ
गुर का सबदु गुर थै टिकै होर थै परगटु न होइ ॥
Gur kā sabaḏ gur thai tikai hor thai pargat na ho▫e.
The Word of the Guru's Shabad rests in the Guru; it does not appear through anyone else.

ਅੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਵਸਿ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਪਇਆ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਵੇਚਣ ਜਾਇ
अंन्हे वसि माणकु पइआ घरि घरि वेचण जाइ ॥
Aʼnnĥe vas māṇak pa▫i▫ā gẖar gẖar vecẖaṇ jā▫e.
The blind man finds a jewel, and goes from house to house selling it.

ਓਨਾ ਪਰਖ ਆਵਈ ਅਢੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ
ओना परख न आवई अढु न पलै पाइ ॥
Onā parakẖ na āvī adẖ na palai pā▫e.
But they cannot appraise it, and they do not offer him even half a shell for it.

ਜੇ ਆਪਿ ਪਰਖ ਆਵਈ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਰਖੀਆ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਲਇਓੁ ਪਰਖਾਇ
जे आपि परख न आवई तां पारखीआ थावहु लइओ परखाइ ॥
Je āp parakẖ na āvī ṯāʼn pārkẖī▫ā thāvhu la▫i▫o parkẖā▫e.
If he cannot appraise it himself, then he should have it appraised by an appraiser.

ਜੇ ਓਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਵਥੁ ਲਹੈ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ
जे ओसु नालि चितु लाए तां वथु लहै नउ निधि पलै पाइ ॥
Je os nāl cẖiṯ lā▫e ṯāʼn vath lahai na▫o niḏẖ palai pā▫e.
If he focuses his consciousness, then he obtains the true object, and he is blessed with the nine treasures.

ਘਰਿ ਹੋਦੈ ਧਨਿ ਜਗੁ ਭੁਖਾ ਮੁਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਇ
घरि होदै धनि जगु भुखा मुआ बिनु सतिगुर सोझी न होइ ॥
Gẖar hoḏai ḏẖan jag bẖukẖā mu▫ā bin saṯgur sojẖī na ho▫e.
The wealth is within the house, while the world is dying of hunger. Without the True Guru, no one has a clue.

ਸਬਦੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਿਥੈ ਸੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਕੋਇ
सबदु सीतलु मनि तनि वसै तिथै सोगु विजोगु न कोइ ॥
Sabaḏ sīṯal man ṯan vasai ṯithai sog vijog na ko▫e.
When the cooling and soothing Shabad comes to dwell in the mind and body, there is no sorrow or separation there.

ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ਆਪਿ ਗਰਬੁ ਕਰੇ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਏ
वसतु पराई आपि गरबु करे मूरखु आपु गणाए ॥
vasaṯ parā▫ī āp garab kare mūrakẖ āp gaṇā▫e.
The object belongs to someone else, but the fool is proud of it, and shows his shallow nature.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਕਿਨੈ ਪਾਇਓ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
नानक बिनु बूझे किनै न पाइओ फिरि फिरि आवै जाए ॥१॥
Nānak bin būjẖe kinai na pā▫i▫o fir fir āvai jā▫e. ||1||
O Nanak, without understanding, no one obtains it; they come and go in reincarnation, over and over again. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਰਸੇ ਸਜਣ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ
मनि अनदु भइआ मिलिआ हरि प्रीतमु सरसे सजण संत पिआरे ॥
Man anaḏ bẖa▫i▫ā mili▫ā har parīṯam sarse sajaṇ sanṯ pi▫āre.
My mind is in ecstasy; I have met my Beloved Lord. My beloved friends, the Saints, are delighted.

ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ
जो धुरि मिले न विछुड़हि कबहू जि आपि मेले करतारे ॥
Jo ḏẖur mile na vicẖẖuṛėh kabhū jė āp mele karṯāre.
Those who are united with the Primal Lord shall never be separated again. The Creator has united them with Himself.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ
अंतरि सबदु रविआ गुरु पाइआ सगले दूख निवारे ॥
Anṯar sabaḏ ravi▫ā gur pā▫i▫ā sagle ḏūkẖ nivāre.
The Shabad permeates my inner being, and I have found the Guru; all my sorrows are dispelled.

ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਖਾਂ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ
हरि सुखदाता सदा सलाही अंतरि रखां उर धारे ॥
Har sukẖ▫ḏāṯa saḏā salāhī anṯar rakẖāʼn ur ḏẖāre.
I praise forever the Lord, the Giver of peace; I keep Him enshrined deep within my heart.

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਕਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ
मनमुखु तिन की बखीली कि करे जि सचै सबदि सवारे ॥
Manmukẖ ṯin kī bakẖīlī kė kare jė sacẖai sabaḏ savāre.
How can the self-willed manmukh gossip about those who are embellished and exalted in the True Word of the Shabad?

ਓਨਾ ਦੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਤਿ ਰਖਸੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪਏ ਗੁਰ ਦੁਆਰੇ
ओना दी आपि पति रखसी मेरा पिआरा सरणागति पए गुर दुआरे ॥
Onā ḏī āp paṯ rakẖsī merā pi▫ārā sarṇāgaṯ pa▫e gur ḏu▫āre.
My Beloved Himself preserves the honor of those who have come to the Guru's Door seeking Sanctuary.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਭਏ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
नानक गुरमुखि से सुहेले भए मुख ऊजल दरबारे ॥२॥
Nānak gurmukẖ se suhele bẖa▫e mukẖ ūjal ḏarbāre. ||2||
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs are filled with joy; their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਧਾਇਆ
इसतरी पुरखै बहु प्रीति मिलि मोहु वधाइआ ॥
Isṯarī purkẖai baho parīṯ mil moh vaḏẖā▫i▫ā.
The husband and wife are very much in love; joining together, their love increases.

ਪੁਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਨਿਤ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ
पुत्रु कलत्रु नित वेखै विगसै मोहि माइआ ॥
Puṯar kalaṯar niṯ vekẖai vigsai mohi mā▫i▫ā.
Gazing on his children and his wife, the man is pleased and attached to Maya.

ਦੇਸਿ ਪਰਦੇਸਿ ਧਨੁ ਚੋਰਾਇ ਆਣਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ
देसि परदेसि धनु चोराइ आणि मुहि पाइआ ॥
Ḏes parḏes ḏẖan cẖorā▫e āṇ muhi pā▫i▫ā.
Stealing the wealth of his own country and other lands, he brings it home and feeds them.
