ਪਾਪ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਨੂਰ ਸਭਿ ਲਦੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਰੀ
पाप बिकार मनूर सभि लदे बहु भारी ॥
Pāp bikār manūr sabẖ laḏe baho bẖārī.
Their sin and corruption are like rusty slag; they carry such a heavy load.

ਮਾਰਗੁ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਡਰਾਵਣਾ ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਤਾਰੀ
मारगु बिखमु डरावणा किउ तरीऐ तारी ॥
Mārag bikẖam darāvaṇā ki▫o ṯarī▫ai ṯārī.
The path is treacherous and terrifying; how can they cross over to the other side?

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥੨੭॥
नानक गुरि राखे से उबरे हरि नामि उधारी ॥२७॥
Nānak gur rākẖe se ubre har nām uḏẖārī. ||27||
O Nanak, those whom the Guru protects are saved. They are saved in the Name of the Lord. ||27||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ
विणु सतिगुर सेवे सुखु नही मरि जमहि वारो वार ॥
viṇ saṯgur seve sukẖ nahī mar jamėh vāro vār.
Without serving the True Guru, no one finds peace; mortals die and are reborn, over and over again.

ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਪਾਈਅਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਵਿਕਾਰ
मोह ठगउली पाईअनु बहु दूजै भाइ विकार ॥
Moh ṯẖag▫ulī pā▫ī▫an baho ḏūjai bẖā▫e vikār.
They have been given the drug of emotional attachment; in love with duality, they are totally corrupt.

ਇਕਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਉਬਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ
इकि गुर परसादी उबरे तिसु जन कउ करहि सभि नमसकार ॥
Ik gur parsādī ubre ṯis jan ka▫o karahi sabẖ namaskār.
Some are saved, by Guru's Grace. Everyone humbly bows before such humble beings.

ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ ॥੧॥
नानक अनदिनु नामु धिआइ तू अंतरि जितु पावहि मोख दुआर ॥१॥
Nānak an▫ḏin nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e ṯū anṯar jiṯ pāvahi mokẖ ḏu▫ār. ||1||
O Nanak, meditate on the Naam, deep within yourself, day and night. You shall find the Door of Salvation. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਮਰਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ
माइआ मोहि विसारिआ सचु मरणा हरि नामु ॥
Mā▫i▫ā mohi visāri▫ā sacẖ marṇā har nām.
Emotionally attached to Maya, the mortal forgets truth, death and the Name of the Lord.

ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤਿਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹਾਮੁ
धंधा करतिआ जनमु गइआ अंदरि दुखु सहामु ॥
Ḏẖanḏẖā karṯi▫ā janam ga▫i▫ā anḏar ḏukẖ sahām.
Engaged in worldly affairs, his life wastes away; deep within himself, he suffers in pain.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਰਾਮੁ ॥੨॥
नानक सतिगुरु सेवि सुखु पाइआ जिन्ह पूरबि लिखिआ करामु ॥२॥
Nānak saṯgur sev sukẖ pā▫i▫ā jinĥ pūrab likẖi▫ā karām. ||2||
O Nanak, those who have the karma of such pre-ordained destiny, serve the True Guru and find peace. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਲੇਖਾ ਪੜੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਹੋਈ
लेखा पड़ीऐ हरि नामु फिरि लेखु न होई ॥
Lekẖā paṛī▫ai har nām fir lekẖ na ho▫ī.
Read the account of the Name of the Lord, and you shall never again be called to account.

ਪੁਛਿ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਦ ਢੋਈ
पुछि न सकै कोइ हरि दरि सद ढोई ॥
Pucẖẖ na sakai ko▫e har ḏar saḏ dẖo▫ī.
No one will question you, and you will always be safe in the Court of the Lord.

ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਦੇ ਭੇਟ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਨਿਤ ਹੋਈ
जमकालु मिलै दे भेट सेवकु नित होई ॥
Jamkāl milai ḏe bẖet sevak niṯ ho▫ī.
The Messenger of Death will meet you, and be your constant servant.

ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪਤਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਲੋਈ
पूरे गुर ते महलु पाइआ पति परगटु लोई ॥
Pūre gur ṯe mahal pā▫i▫ā paṯ pargat lo▫ī.
Through the Perfect Guru, you shall find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. You shall be famous throughout the world.

ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀ ਦਰਿ ਵਜਦੇ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੨੮॥
नानक अनहद धुनी दरि वजदे मिलिआ हरि सोई ॥२८॥
Nānak anhaḏ ḏẖunī ḏar vajḏe mili▫ā har so▫ī. ||28||
O Nanak, the unstruck celestial melody vibrates at your door; come and merge with the Lord. ||28||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਰੁ
गुर का कहिआ जे करे सुखी हू सुखु सारु ॥
Gur kā kahi▫ā je kare sukẖī hū sukẖ sār.
Whoever follows the Guru's Teachings, attains the most sublime peace of all peace.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਣੀ ਭਉ ਕਟੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
गुर की करणी भउ कटीऐ नानक पावहि पारु ॥१॥
Gur kī karṇī bẖa▫o katī▫ai Nānak pāvahi pār. ||1||
Acting in accordance with the Guru, his fear is cut away; O Nanak, he is carried across. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਸਚੁ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਨਾ ਥੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੋਇ
सचु पुराणा ना थीऐ नामु न मैला होइ ॥
Sacẖ purāṇā nā thī▫ai nām na mailā ho▫e.
The True Lord does not grow old; His Naam is never dirtied.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਚਲੈ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਆਵਣੁ ਹੋਇ
गुर कै भाणै जे चलै बहुड़ि न आवणु होइ ॥
Gur kai bẖāṇai je cẖalai bahuṛ na āvaṇ ho▫e.
Whoever walks in harmony with the Guru's Will, shall not be reborn again.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਐ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਦੋਇ ॥੨॥
नानक नामि विसारिऐ आवण जाणा दोइ ॥२॥
Nānak nām visāri▫ai āvaṇ jāṇā ḏo▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, those who forget the Naam, come and go in reincarnation. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ
मंगत जनु जाचै दानु हरि देहु सुभाइ ॥
Mangaṯ jan jācẖai ḏān har ḏeh subẖā▫e.
I am a beggar; I ask this blessing of You: O Lord, please embellish me with Your Love.

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਹੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇ
हरि दरसन की पिआस है दरसनि त्रिपताइ ॥
Har ḏarsan kī pi▫ās hai ḏarsan ṯaripṯā▫ai.
I am so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan; His Darshan brings me satisfaction.

ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਘੜੀ ਜੀਵਊ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਮਰਾਂ ਮਾਇ
खिनु पलु घड़ी न जीवऊ बिनु देखे मरां माइ ॥
Kẖin pal gẖaṛī na jīv▫ū bin ḏekẖe marāʼn mā▫e.
I cannot live for a moment, for even an instant, without seeing Him, O my mother.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭ ਥਾਇ
सतिगुरि नालि दिखालिआ रवि रहिआ सभ थाइ ॥
Saṯgur nāl ḏikẖāli▫ā rav rahi▫ā sabẖ thā▫e.
The Guru has shown me that the Lord is always with me; He is permeating and pervading all places.

ਸੁਤਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਉਠਾਲਿ ਦੇਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨੯॥
सुतिआ आपि उठालि देइ नानक लिव लाइ ॥२९॥
Suṯi▫ā āp uṯẖāl ḏe▫e Nānak liv lā▫e. ||29||
He Himself wakes the sleepers, O Nanak, and lovingly attunes them to Himself. ||29||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ

Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੋਲਿ ਜਾਣਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਓਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ
मनमुख बोलि न जाणन्ही ओना अंदरि कामु क्रोधु अहंकारु ॥
Manmukẖ bol na jāṇanĥī onā anḏar kām kroḏẖ ahaʼnkār.
The self-willed manmukhs do not even know how to speak. They are filled with sexual desire, anger and egotism.

ਥਾਉ ਕੁਥਾਉ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਸਦਾ ਚਿਤਵਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ
थाउ कुथाउ न जाणनी सदा चितवहि बिकार ॥
Thā▫o kuthā▫o na jāṇnī saḏā cẖiṯvahi bikār.
They do not know the difference between good and bad; they constantly think of corruption.

ਦਰਗਹ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਓਥੈ ਹੋਹਿ ਕੂੜਿਆਰ
दरगह लेखा मंगीऐ ओथै होहि कूड़िआर ॥
Ḏargėh lekẖā mangī▫ai othai hohi kūṛi▫ār.
In the Lord's Court, they are called to account, and they are judged to be false.

ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਈਅਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ
आपे स्रिसटि उपाईअनु आपि करे बीचारु ॥
Āpe sarisat upā▫ī▫an āp kare bīcẖār.
He Himself creates the Universe. He Himself contemplates it.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਖੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ॥੧॥
नानक किस नो आखीऐ सभु वरतै आपि सचिआरु ॥१॥
Nānak kis no ākẖī▫ai sabẖ varṯai āp sacẖiār. ||1||
O Nanak, whom should we tell? The True Lord is permeating and pervading all. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥

Third Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ
हरि गुरमुखि तिन्ही अराधिआ जिन्ह करमि परापति होइ ॥
Har gurmukẖ ṯinĥī arāḏẖi▫ā jinĥ karam parāpaṯ ho▫e.
The Gurmukhs worship and adore the Lord; they receive the good karma of their actions.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
नानक हउ बलिहारी तिन्ह कउ जिन्ह हरि मनि वसिआ सोइ ॥२॥
Nānak ha▫o balihārī ṯinĥ ka▫o jinĥ har man vasi▫ā so▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those whose minds are filled with the Lord. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਆਸ ਕਰੇ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਬਹੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਜਾਣਿਆ
आस करे सभु लोकु बहु जीवणु जाणिआ ॥
Ās kare sabẖ lok baho jīvaṇ jāṇi▫ā.
All people cherish hope, that they will live long lives.

ਨਿਤ ਜੀਵਣ ਕਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਗੜ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮੰਡਪ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ
नित जीवण कउ चितु गड़्ह मंडप सवारिआ ॥
Niṯ jīvaṇ ka▫o cẖiṯ gaṛĥ mandap savāri▫ā.
They wish to live forever; they adorn and embellish their forts and mansions.

ਵਲਵੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਹਿਰਿ ਆਣਿਆ
वलवंच करि उपाव माइआ हिरि आणिआ ॥
valvancẖ kar upāv mā▫i▫ā hir āṇi▫ā.
By various frauds and deceptions, they steal the wealth of others.

ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ ਸਾਸ ਆਵ ਘਟੈ ਬੇਤਾਲਿਆ
जमकालु निहाले सास आव घटै बेतालिआ ॥
Jamkāl nihāle sās āv gẖatai beṯāli▫ā.
But the Messenger of Death keeps his gaze on their breath, and the life of those goblins decreases day by day.
