पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਗੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਣਾਈ
गड़्हि काइआ सीगार बहु भांति बणाई ॥
Gaṛėh kā▫i▫ā sīgār baho bẖāʼnṯ baṇā▫ī.
The fortress of the body has been decorated and adorned in so many ways.

ਰੰਗ ਪਰੰਗ ਕਤੀਫਿਆ ਪਹਿਰਹਿ ਧਰ ਮਾਈ
रंग परंग कतीफिआ पहिरहि धर माई ॥
Rang parang kaṯīfi▫ā pahirahi ḏẖar mā▫ī.
The wealthy wear beautiful silk robes of various colors.

ਲਾਲ ਸੁਪੇਦ ਦੁਲੀਚਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਸਭਾ ਬਣਾਈ
लाल सुपेद दुलीचिआ बहु सभा बणाई ॥
Lāl supeḏ ḏulīcẖi▫ā baho sabẖā baṇā▫ī.
They hold elegant and beautiful courts, on red and white carpets.

ਦੁਖੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਭੋਗਣਾ ਗਰਬੈ ਗਰਬਾਈ
दुखु खाणा दुखु भोगणा गरबै गरबाई ॥
Ḏukẖ kẖāṇā ḏukẖ bẖogṇā garbai garbā▫ī.
But they eat in pain, and in pain they seek pleasure; they are very proud of their pride.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਅੰਤਿ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥੨੪॥
नानक नामु न चेतिओ अंति लए छडाई ॥२४॥
Nānak nām na cẖeṯi▫o anṯ la▫e cẖẖadā▫ī. ||24||
O Nanak, the mortal does not even think of the Name, which shall deliver him in the end. ||24||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਸਹਜੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੁਤੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇ
सहजे सुखि सुती सबदि समाइ ॥
Sėhje sukẖ suṯī sabaḏ samā▫e.
She sleeps in intuitive peace and poise, absorbed in the Word of the Shabad.

ਆਪੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਈ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇ
आपे प्रभि मेलि लई गलि लाइ ॥
Āpe parabẖ mel la▫ī gal lā▫e.
God hugs her close in His Embrace, and merges her into Himself.

ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਚੂਕੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ
दुबिधा चूकी सहजि सुभाइ ॥
Ḏubiḏẖā cẖūkī sahj subẖā▫e.
Duality is eradicated with intuitive ease.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ
अंतरि नामु वसिआ मनि आइ ॥
Anṯar nām vasi▫ā man ā▫e.
The Naam comes to abide in her mind.

ਸੇ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ਜਿ ਭੰਨਿ ਘੜਾਇ
से कंठि लाए जि भंनि घड़ाइ ॥
Se kanṯẖ lā▫e jė bẖann gẖaṛā▫e.
He hugs close in His Embrace those who shatter and reform their beings.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਹੁਣਿ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
नानक जो धुरि मिले से हुणि आणि मिलाइ ॥१॥
Nānak jo ḏẖur mile se huṇ āṇ milā▫e. ||1||
O Nanak, those who are predestined to meet Him, come and meet Him now. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਕਿਆ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਹਿ ਹੋਰਿ
जिन्ही नामु विसारिआ किआ जपु जापहि होरि ॥
Jinĥī nām visāri▫ā ki▫ā jap jāpėh hor.
Those who forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord - so what if they chant other chants?

ਬਿਸਟਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੀਟ ਸੇ ਮੁਠੇ ਧੰਧੈ ਚੋਰਿ
बिसटा अंदरि कीट से मुठे धंधै चोरि ॥
Bistā anḏar kīt se muṯẖe ḏẖanḏẖai cẖor.
They are maggots in manure, plundered by the thief of worldly entanglements.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਝੂਠੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਹੋਰਿ ॥੨॥
नानक नामु न वीसरै झूठे लालच होरि ॥२॥
Nānak nām na vīsrai jẖūṯẖe lālacẖ hor. ||2||
O Nanak, never forget the Naam; greed for anything else is false. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜਗਿ ਸੋਈ
नामु सलाहनि नामु मंनि असथिरु जगि सोई ॥
Nām salāhan nām man asthir jag so▫ī.
Those who praise the Naam, and believe in the Naam, are eternally stable in this world.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ
हिरदै हरि हरि चितवै दूजा नही कोई ॥
Hirḏai har har cẖiṯvai ḏūjā nahī ko▫ī.
Within their hearts, they dwell on the Lord, and nothing else at all.

ਰੋਮਿ ਰੋਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਰੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਈ
रोमि रोमि हरि उचरै खिनु खिनु हरि सोई ॥
Rom rom har ucẖrai kẖin kẖin har so▫ī.
With each and every hair, they chant the Lord's Name, each and every instant, the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਕਾਰਥਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਈ
गुरमुखि जनमु सकारथा निरमलु मलु खोई ॥
Gurmukẖ janam sakārthā nirmal mal kẖo▫ī.
The birth of the Gurmukh is fruitful and certified; pure and unstained, his filth is washed away.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਦਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੨੫॥
नानक जीवदा पुरखु धिआइआ अमरा पदु होई ॥२५॥
Nānak jīvḏā purakẖ ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā amrā paḏ ho▫ī. ||25||
O Nanak, meditating on the Lord of eternal life, the status of immortality is obtained. ||25||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ
सलोकु मः ३ ॥
Salok mėhlā 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਹੋਰਿ
जिनी नामु विसारिआ बहु करम कमावहि होरि ॥
Jinī nām visāri▫ā baho karam kamāvėh hor.
Those who forget the Naam and do other things,

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਜਿਉ ਸੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਉਪਰਿ ਚੋਰ ॥੧॥
नानक जम पुरि बधे मारीअहि जिउ संन्ही उपरि चोर ॥१॥
Nānak jam pur baḏẖe mārī▫ah ji▫o sanĥī upar cẖor. ||1||
O Nanak, will be bound and gagged and beaten in the City of Death, like the thief caught red-handed. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ५ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਧਰਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੀ ਆਕਾਸੁ ਸੁਹੰਦਾ ਜਪੰਦਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ
धरति सुहावड़ी आकासु सुहंदा जपंदिआ हरि नाउ ॥
Ḏẖaraṯ suhāvaṛī ākās suhanḏā japanḏi▫ā har nā▫o.
The earth is beauteous, and the sky is lovely, chanting the Name of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਤਨ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਕਾਉ ॥੨॥
नानक नाम विहूणिआ तिन्ह तन खावहि काउ ॥२॥
Nānak nām vihūṇi▫ā ṯinĥ ṯan kẖāvėh kā▫o. ||2||
O Nanak, those who lack the Naam - their carcasses are eaten by the crows. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਜ ਮਹਲੀ ਵਾਸਾ
नामु सलाहनि भाउ करि निज महली वासा ॥
Nām salāhan bẖā▫o kar nij mahlī vāsā.
Those who lovingly praise the Naam, and dwell in the mansion of the self deep within,

ਓਇ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਆਵਨੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ
ओइ बाहुड़ि जोनि न आवनी फिरि होहि न बिनासा ॥
O▫e bāhuṛ jon na āvnī fir hohi na bināsā.
do not enter into reincarnation ever again; they shall never be destroyed.

ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਭ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ
हरि सेती रंगि रवि रहे सभ सास गिरासा ॥
Har seṯī rang rav rahe sabẖ sās girāsā.
They remain immersed and absorbed in the love of the Lord, with every breath and morsel of food.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਦੇ ਉਤਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ
हरि का रंगु कदे न उतरै गुरमुखि परगासा ॥
Har kā rang kaḏe na uṯrai gurmukẖ pargāsā.
The color of the Lord's Love never fades away; the Gurmukhs are enlightened.

ਓਇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਾ ॥੨੬॥
ओइ किरपा करि कै मेलिअनु नानक हरि पासा ॥२६॥
O▫e kirpā kar kai meli▫an Nānak har pāsā. ||26||
Granting His Grace, He unites them with Himself; O Nanak, the Lord keeps them by His side. ||26||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः ३ ॥

Shalok, Third Mehl:

ਜਿਚਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਹਰੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਹੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ
जिचरु इहु मनु लहरी विचि है हउमै बहुतु अहंकारु ॥
Jicẖar ih man lahrī vicẖ hai ha▫umai bahuṯ ahaʼnkār.
As long as his mind is disturbed by waves, he is caught in ego and egotistical pride.

ਸਬਦੈ ਸਾਦੁ ਆਵਈ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ
सबदै सादु न आवई नामि न लगै पिआरु ॥
Sabḏai sāḏ na āvī nām na lagai pi▫ār.
He does not find the taste of the Shabad, and he does not embrace love for the Name.

ਸੇਵਾ ਥਾਇ ਪਵਈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਖਪਿ ਖਪਿ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ
सेवा थाइ न पवई तिस की खपि खपि होइ खुआरु ॥
Sevā thā▫e na pav▫ī ṯis kī kẖap kẖap ho▫e kẖu▫ār.
His service is not accepted; worrying and worrying, he wastes away in misery.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋਈ ਆਖੀਐ ਜੋ ਸਿਰੁ ਧਰੇ ਉਤਾਰਿ
नानक सेवकु सोई आखीऐ जो सिरु धरे उतारि ॥
Nānak sevak so▫ī ākẖī▫ai jo sir ḏẖare uṯār.
O Nanak, he alone is called a selfless servant, who cuts off his head, and offers it to the Lord.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲਏ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਖੈ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
सतिगुर का भाणा मंनि लए सबदु रखै उर धारि ॥१॥
Saṯgur kā bẖāṇā man la▫e sabaḏ rakẖai ur ḏẖār. ||1||
He accepts the Will of the True Guru, and enshrines the Shabad within his heart. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः ३ ॥
Mėhlā 3.
Third Mehl:

ਸੋ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਜੋ ਖਸਮੈ ਭਾਵੈ
सो जपु तपु सेवा चाकरी जो खसमै भावै ॥
So jap ṯap sevā cẖākrī jo kẖasmai bẖāvai.
That is chanting and meditation, work and selfless service, which is pleasing to our Lord and Master.

ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਆਪਤੁ ਗਵਾਵੈ
आपे बखसे मेलि लए आपतु गवावै ॥
Āpe bakẖse mel la▫e āpaṯ gavāvai.
The Lord Himself forgives, and takes away self-conceit, and unites the mortals with Himself.

ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਦੇ ਵੀਛੁੜੈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ
मिलिआ कदे न वीछुड़ै जोती जोति मिलावै ॥
Mili▫ā kaḏe na vīcẖẖuṛai joṯī joṯ milāvai.
United with the Lord, the mortal is never separated again; his light merges into the Light.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੋ ਬੁਝਸੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
नानक गुर परसादी सो बुझसी जिसु आपि बुझावै ॥२॥
Nānak gur parsādī so bujẖsī jis āp bujẖāvai. ||2||
O Nanak, by Guru's Grace, the mortal understands, when the Lord allows him to understand. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥

Pauree:

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ
सभु को लेखे विचि है मनमुखु अहंकारी ॥
Sabẖ ko lekẖe vicẖ hai manmukẖ ahaʼnkārī.
All are held accountable, even the egotistical self-willed manmukhs.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਦੇ ਚੇਤਈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰੀ
हरि नामु कदे न चेतई जमकालु सिरि मारी ॥
Har nām kaḏe na cẖeṯ▫ī jamkāl sir mārī.
They never even think of the Name of the Lord; the Messenger of Death shall hit them on their heads.
