ਪੂਜ ਕਰੇ ਰਖੈ ਨਾਵਾਲਿ
पूज करे रखै नावालि ॥
Pūj kare rakẖai nāvāl.
You wash your stone gods and worship them.

ਕੁੰਗੂ ਚੰਨਣੁ ਫੁਲ ਚੜਾਏ
कुंगू चंनणु फुल चड़ाए ॥
Kungū cẖannaṇ ful cẖaṛā▫e.
You offer saffron, sandalwood and flowers.

ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਪੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਨਾਏ
पैरी पै पै बहुतु मनाए ॥
Pairī pai pai bahuṯ manā▫e.
Falling at their feet, you try so hard to appease them.

ਮਾਣੂਆ ਮੰਗਿ ਮੰਗਿ ਪੈਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੈ ਖਾਇ
माणूआ मंगि मंगि पैन्है खाइ ॥
Māṇū▫ā mang mang painĥai kẖā▫e.
Begging, begging from other people, you get things to wear and eat.

ਅੰਧੀ ਕੰਮੀ ਅੰਧ ਸਜਾਇ
अंधी कमी अंध सजाइ ॥
Anḏẖī kammī anḏẖ sajā▫e.
For your blind deeds, you will be blindly punished.

ਭੁਖਿਆ ਦੇਇ ਮਰਦਿਆ ਰਖੈ
भुखिआ देइ न मरदिआ रखै ॥
Bẖukẖi▫ā ḏe▫e na marḏi▫ā rakẖai.
Your idol does not feed the hungry, or save the dying.

ਅੰਧਾ ਝਗੜਾ ਅੰਧੀ ਸਥੈ ॥੧॥
अंधा झगड़ा अंधी सथै ॥१॥
Anḏẖā jẖagṛā anḏẖī sathai. ||1||
The blind assembly argues in blindness. ||1||

ਮਹਲਾ
महला १ ॥
Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl:

ਸਭੇ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਜੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ
सभे सुरती जोग सभि सभे बेद पुराण ॥
Sabẖe surṯī jog sabẖ sabẖe beḏ purāṇ.
All intuitive understanding, all Yoga, all the Vedas and Puraanas.

ਸਭੇ ਕਰਣੇ ਤਪ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਿਆਨ
सभे करणे तप सभि सभे गीत गिआन ॥
Sabẖe karṇe ṯap sabẖ sabẖe gīṯ gi▫ān.
All actions, all penances, all songs and spiritual wisdom.

ਸਭੇ ਬੁਧੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਭਿ ਥਾਨ
सभे बुधी सुधि सभि सभि तीरथ सभि थान ॥
Sabẖe buḏẖī suḏẖ sabẖ sabẖ ṯirath sabẖ thān.
All intellect, all enlightenment, all sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

ਸਭਿ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਅਮਰ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਸਭਿ ਖਾਨ
सभि पातिसाहीआ अमर सभि सभि खुसीआ सभि खान ॥
Sabẖ pāṯisāhī▫ā amar sabẖ sabẖ kẖusī▫ā sabẖ kẖān.
All kingdoms, all royal commands, all joys and all delicacies.

ਸਭੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਵ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨ
सभे माणस देव सभि सभे जोग धिआन ॥
Sabẖe māṇas ḏev sabẖ sabẖe jog ḏẖi▫ān.
All mankind, all divinities, all Yoga and meditation.

ਸਭੇ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਖੰਡ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਜੀਅ ਜਹਾਨ
सभे पुरीआ खंड सभि सभे जीअ जहान ॥
Sabẖe purī▫ā kẖand sabẖ sabẖe jī▫a jahān.
All worlds, all celestial realms; all the beings of the universe.

ਹੁਕਮਿ ਚਲਾਏ ਆਪਣੈ ਕਰਮੀ ਵਹੈ ਕਲਾਮ
हुकमि चलाए आपणै करमी वहै कलाम ॥
Hukam cẖalā▫e āpṇai karmī vahai kalām.
According to His Hukam, He commands them. His Pen writes out the account of their actions.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਸਚੁ ਸਭਾ ਦੀਬਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
नानक सचा सचि नाइ सचु सभा दीबानु ॥२॥
Nānak sacẖā sacẖ nā▫e sacẖ sabẖā ḏībān. ||2||
O Nanak, True is the Lord, and True is His Name. True is His Congregation and His Court. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਈ
नाइ मंनिऐ सुखु ऊपजै नामे गति होई ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai sukẖ ūpjai nāme gaṯ ho▫ī.
With faith in the Name, peace wells up; the Name brings emancipation.

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਈ
नाइ मंनिऐ पति पाईऐ हिरदै हरि सोई ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai paṯ pā▫ī▫ai hirḏai har so▫ī.
With faith in the Name, honor is obtained. The Lord is enshrined in the heart.

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਲੰਘੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਹੋਈ
नाइ मंनिऐ भवजलु लंघीऐ फिरि बिघनु न होई ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai bẖavjal langẖī▫ai fir bigẖan na ho▫ī.
With faith in the Name, one crosses over the terrifying world-ocean, and no obstructions are ever again encountered.

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਪੰਥੁ ਪਰਗਟਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਈ
नाइ मंनिऐ पंथु परगटा नामे सभ लोई ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai panth pargatā nāme sabẖ lo▫ī.
With faith in the Name, the Path is revealed; through the Name, one is totally enlightened.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ ਜਿਨ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੯॥
नानक सतिगुरि मिलिऐ नाउ मंनीऐ जिन देवै सोई ॥९॥
Nānak saṯgur mili▫ai nā▫o mannī▫ai jin ḏevai so▫ī. ||9||
O Nanak, meeting with the True Guru, one comes to have faith in the Name; he alone has faith, who is blessed with it. ||9||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः १ ॥
Salok mėhlā 1.
Shalok, First Mehl:

ਪੁਰੀਆ ਖੰਡਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਇਕ ਪੈਰਿ ਧਿਆਏ
पुरीआ खंडा सिरि करे इक पैरि धिआए ॥
Purī▫ā kẖanda sir kare ik pair ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
The mortal walks on his head through the worlds and realms; he meditates, balanced on one foot.

ਪਉਣੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਜਪੁ ਕਰੇ ਸਿਰੁ ਮੁੰਡੀ ਤਲੈ ਦੇਇ
पउणु मारि मनि जपु करे सिरु मुंडी तलै देइ ॥
Pa▫uṇ mār man jap kare sir mundī ṯalai ḏe▫e.
Controlling the wind of the breath, he meditates within his mind, tucking his chin down into his chest.

ਕਿਸੁ ਉਪਰਿ ਓਹੁ ਟਿਕ ਟਿਕੈ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਜੋਰੁ ਕਰੇਇ
किसु उपरि ओहु टिक टिकै किस नो जोरु करेइ ॥
Kis upar oh tik tikai kis no jor kare▫i.
What does he lean on? Where does he get his power?

ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਹੀਐ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਦੇਇ
किस नो कहीऐ नानका किस नो करता देइ ॥
Kis no kahī▫ai nānkā kis no karṯā ḏe▫e.
What can be said, O Nanak? Who is blessed by the Creator?

ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਹਾਏ ਆਪਣੈ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਣੇਇ ॥੧॥
हुकमि रहाए आपणै मूरखु आपु गणेइ ॥१॥
Hukam rahā▫e āpṇai mūrakẖ āp gaṇe▫e. ||1||
God keeps all under His Command, but the fool shows off himself. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः १ ॥
Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl:

ਹੈ ਹੈ ਆਖਾਂ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟੀ ਹੂ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ
है है आखां कोटि कोटि कोटी हू कोटि कोटि ॥
Hai hai ākẖāʼn kot kot kotī hū kot kot.
He is, He is - I say it millions upon millions, millions upon millions of times.

ਆਖੂੰ ਆਖਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਹਣਿ ਆਵੈ ਤੋਟਿ
आखूं आखां सदा सदा कहणि न आवै तोटि ॥
Ākẖūʼn ākẖāʼn saḏā saḏā kahaṇ na āvai ṯot.
With my mouth I say it, forever and ever; there is no end to this speech.

ਨਾ ਹਉ ਥਕਾਂ ਠਾਕੀਆ ਏਵਡ ਰਖਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ
ना हउ थकां न ठाकीआ एवड रखहि जोति ॥
Nā ha▫o thakāʼn na ṯẖākī▫ā evad rakẖėh joṯ.
I do not get tired, and I will not be stopped; this is how great my determination is.

ਨਾਨਕ ਚਸਿਅਹੁ ਚੁਖ ਬਿੰਦ ਉਪਰਿ ਆਖਣੁ ਦੋਸੁ ॥੨॥
नानक चसिअहु चुख बिंद उपरि आखणु दोसु ॥२॥
Nānak cẖasi▫ahu cẖukẖ binḏ upar ākẖaṇ ḏos. ||2||
O Nanak, this is tiny and insignificant. To say that it is more, is wrong. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ
पउड़ी ॥
Pa▫oṛī.
Pauree:

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਕੁਲੁ ਉਧਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ
नाइ मंनिऐ कुलु उधरै सभु कुट्मबु सबाइआ ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai kul uḏẖrai sabẖ kutamb sabā▫i▫ā.
With faith in the Name, all one's ancestors and family are saved.

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਉਧਰੈ ਜਿਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਇਆ
नाइ मंनिऐ संगति उधरै जिन रिदै वसाइआ ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai sangaṯ uḏẖrai jin riḏai vasā▫i▫ā.
With faith in the Name, one's associates are saved; enshrine it within your heart.

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਣਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਇਆ
नाइ मंनिऐ सुणि उधरे जिन रसन रसाइआ ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai suṇ uḏẖre jin rasan rasā▫i▫ā.
With faith in the Name, those who hear it are saved; let your tongue delight in it.

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਗਈ ਜਿਨ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ
नाइ मंनिऐ दुख भुख गई जिन नामि चितु लाइआ ॥
Nā▫e mani▫ai ḏukẖ bẖukẖ ga▫ī jin nām cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā.
With faith in the Name, pain and hunger are dispelled; let your consciousness be attached to the Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧੦॥
नानक नामु तिनी सालाहिआ जिन गुरू मिलाइआ ॥१०॥
Nānak nām ṯinī salāhi▫ā jin gurū milā▫i▫ā. ||10||
O Nanak, they alone Praise the Name, who meet with the Guru. ||10||

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ
सलोक मः १ ॥
Salok mėhlā 1.
Shalok, First Mehl:

ਸਭੇ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਭਿ ਦਿਹ ਸਭਿ ਥਿਤੀ ਸਭਿ ਵਾਰ
सभे राती सभि दिह सभि थिती सभि वार ॥
Sabẖe rāṯī sabẖ ḏih sabẖ thiṯī sabẖ vār.
All nights, all days, all dates, all days of the week;

ਸਭੇ ਰੁਤੀ ਮਾਹ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਭਿ ਭਾਰ
सभे रुती माह सभि सभि धरतीं सभि भार ॥
Sabẖe ruṯī māh sabẖ sabẖ ḏẖarṯīʼn sabẖ bẖār.
All seasons, all months, all the earth and everything on it.

ਸਭੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਉਣ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਅਗਨੀ ਪਾਤਾਲ
सभे पाणी पउण सभि सभि अगनी पाताल ॥
Sabẖe pāṇī pa▫uṇ sabẖ sabẖ agnī pāṯāl.
All waters, all winds, all fires and underworlds.

ਸਭੇ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਖੰਡ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਅ ਲੋਅ ਆਕਾਰ
सभे पुरीआ खंड सभि सभि लोअ लोअ आकार ॥
Sabẖe purī▫ā kẖand sabẖ sabẖ lo▫a lo▫a ākār.
All solar systems and galaxies, all worlds, people and forms.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਜਾਪੀ ਕੇਤੜਾ ਕਹਿ ਸਕੀਜੈ ਕਾਰ
हुकमु न जापी केतड़ा कहि न सकीजै कार ॥
Hukam na jāpī keṯ▫ṛā kahi na sakījai kār.
No one knows how great the Hukam of His Command is; no one can describe His actions.

ਆਖਹਿ ਥਕਹਿ ਆਖਿ ਆਖਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ
आखहि थकहि आखि आखि करि सिफतीं वीचार ॥
Ākẖahi thakėh ākẖ ākẖ kar sifṯīʼn vīcẖār.
Mortals may utter, chant, recite and contemplate His Praises until they grow weary.

ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਪੁੜੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
त्रिणु न पाइओ बपुड़ी नानकु कहै गवार ॥१॥
Ŧariṇ na pā▫i▫o bapuṛī Nānak kahai gavār. ||1||
The poor fools, O Nanak, cannot find even a tiny bit of the Lord. ||1||

ਮਃ
मः १ ॥
Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl:

ਅਖੀ ਪਰਣੈ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਾਂ ਦੇਖਾਂ ਸਭੁ ਆਕਾਰੁ
अखीं परणै जे फिरां देखां सभु आकारु ॥
Akẖīʼn parṇai je firāʼn ḏekẖāʼn sabẖ ākār.
If I were to walk around with my eyes wide open, gazing at all the created forms;

ਪੁਛਾ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਪੰਡਿਤਾਂ ਪੁਛਾ ਬੇਦ ਬੀਚਾਰ
पुछा गिआनी पंडितां पुछा बेद बीचार ॥
Pucẖẖā gi▫ānī pandẖiṯāʼn pucẖẖā beḏ bīcẖār.
I could ask the spiritual teachers and religious scholars, and those who contemplate the Vedas;
