ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਚੈ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਕੋ ਆਧਾਰ ॥੨॥੭੮॥੧੦੧॥
नानक दासु दरसु प्रभ जाचै मन तन को आधार ॥२॥७८॥१०१॥
Nānak ḏās ḏaras parabẖ jācẖai man ṯan ko āḏẖār. ||2||78||101||
Slave Nanak asks for the Blessed Vision of God. It is the Support of his mind and body. ||2||78||101||

सारग महला ५ ॥
Sārag mėhlā 5.
Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੈਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੀਉ
मैला हरि के नाम बिनु जीउ ॥
Mailā har ke nām bin jī▫o.
Without the Name of the Lord, the soul is polluted.

ਤਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਪੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
तिनि प्रभि साचै आपि भुलाइआ बिखै ठगउरी पीउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ŧin parabẖ sācẖai āp bẖulā▫i▫ā bikẖai ṯẖag▫urī pī▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
The True Lord God has Himself administered the intoxicating drug of corruption, and led the mortal astray. ||1||Pause||

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੌ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਂਤੀ ਥਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਕਤਹੂ ਪਾਈ
कोटि जनम भ्रमतौ बहु भांती थिति नही कतहू पाई ॥
Kot janam bẖarmaṯou baho bẖāʼnṯī thiṯ nahī kaṯhū pā▫ī.
Wandering through millions of incarnations in countless ways, he does not find stability anywhere.

ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸਾਕਤੁ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
पूरा सतिगुरु सहजि न भेटिआ साकतु आवै जाई ॥१॥
Pūrā saṯgur sahj na bẖeti▫ā sākaṯ āvai jā▫ī. ||1||
The faithless cynic does not intuitively meet with the Perfect True Guru; he continues coming and going in reincarnation. ||1||

ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਦਾਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ
राखि लेहु प्रभ सम्रिथ दाते तुम प्रभ अगम अपार ॥
Rākẖ leho parabẖ sammrith ḏāṯe ṯum parabẖ agam apār.
Please save me, O All-powerful Lord God, O Great Giver; O God, You are Inaccessible and Infinite.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰਿਓ ਪਾਰ ॥੨॥੭੯॥੧੦੨॥
नानक दास तेरी सरणाई भवजलु उतरिओ पार ॥२॥७९॥१०२॥
Nānak ḏās ṯerī sarṇā▫ī bẖavjal uṯri▫o pār. ||2||79||102||
Slave Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary, to cross over the terrible world-ocean, and reach the other shore. ||2||79||102||

सारग महला ५ ॥
Sārag mėhlā 5.
Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਰਮਣ ਕਉ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਾਦ
रमण कउ राम के गुण बाद ॥
Ramaṇ ka▫o rām ke guṇ bāḏ.
To chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord is Sublime.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
साधसंगि धिआईऐ परमेसरु अम्रित जा के सुआद ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sāḏẖsang ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai parmesar amriṯ jā ke su▫āḏ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Transcendent Lord God; The taste of His essence is Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||Pause||

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਏਕੁ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਦ
सिमरत एकु अचुत अबिनासी बिनसे माइआ माद ॥
Simraṯ ek acẖuṯ abẖināsī binse mā▫i▫ā māḏ.
Meditating in remembrance on the One Unmoving, Eternal, Unchanging Lord God, the intoxication of Maya wears off.

ਸਹਜ ਅਨਦ ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਭਏ ਬਿਖਾਦ ॥੧॥
सहज अनद अनहद धुनि बाणी बहुरि न भए बिखाद ॥१॥
Sahj anaḏ anhaḏ ḏẖun baṇī bahur na bẖa▫e bikẖāḏ. ||1||
One who is blessed with intuitive peace and poise, and the vibrations of the Unstruck Celestial Bani, never suffers again. ||1||

ਸਨਕਾਦਿਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ਗਾਵਤ ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਕ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ
सनकादिक ब्रहमादिक गावत गावत सुक प्रहिलाद ॥
Sankāḏik barahmāḏik gāvaṯ gāvaṯ suk par▫hilāḏ.
Even Brahma and his sons sing God's Praises; Sukdayv and Prahlaad sing His Praises as well.

ਪੀਵਤ ਅਮਿਉ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥੨॥੮੦॥੧੦੩॥
पीवत अमिउ मनोहर हरि रसु जपि नानक हरि बिसमाद ॥२॥८०॥१०३॥
Pīvaṯ ami▫o manohar har ras jap Nānak har bismāḏ. ||2||80||103||
Drinking in the fascinating Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's sublime essence, Nanak meditates on the Amazing Lord. ||2||80||103||

ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਕੋਟ
कीन्हे पाप के बहु कोट ॥
Kīnĥe pāp ke baho kot.
He commits many millions of sins.

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨੀ ਥਕਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਤਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਛੋਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
दिनसु रैनी थकत नाही कतहि नाही छोट ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ḏinas rainī thakaṯ nāhī kaṯėh nāhī cẖẖot. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Day and night, he does not get tired of them, and he never finds release. ||1||Pause||

ਮਹਾ ਬਜਰ ਬਿਖ ਬਿਆਧੀ ਸਿਰਿ ਉਠਾਈ ਪੋਟ
महा बजर बिख बिआधी सिरि उठाई पोट ॥
Mahā bajar bikẖ bi▫āḏẖī sir uṯẖā▫ī pot.
He carries on his head a terrible, heavy load of sin and corruption.

ਉਘਰਿ ਗਈਆਂ ਖਿਨਹਿ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜਮਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਾਸੇ ਝੋਟ ॥੧॥
उघरि गईआं खिनहि भीतरि जमहि ग्रासे झोट ॥१॥
Ugẖar ga▫ī▫āʼn kẖinėh bẖīṯar jamėh garāse jẖot. ||1||
In an instant, he is exposed. The Messenger of Death seizes him by his hair. ||1||

ਪਸੁ ਪਰੇਤ ਉਸਟ ਗਰਧਭ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨੀ ਲੇਟ
पसु परेत उसट गरधभ अनिक जोनी लेट ॥
Pas pareṯ usat garḏẖabẖ anik jonī let.
He is consigned to countless forms of reincarnation, into beasts, ghosts, camels and donkeys.

ਭਜੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਛੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਫੇਟ ॥੨॥੮੧॥੧੦੪॥
भजु साधसंगि गोबिंद नानक कछु न लागै फेट ॥२॥८१॥१०४॥
Bẖaj sāḏẖsang gobinḏ Nānak kacẖẖ na lāgai fet. ||2||81||104||
Vibrating and meditating on the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, you shall never be struck or harmed at all. ||2||81||104||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਅੰਧੇ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਸੂ ਕੇ ਗਟਾਕ
अंधे खावहि बिसू के गटाक ॥
Anḏẖe kẖāvėh bisū ke gatāk.
He is so blind! He is eating loads of poison.

ਨੈਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਹੁਟਿਓ ਸਾਸੁ ਗਇਓ ਤਤ ਘਾਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
नैन स्रवन सरीरु सभु हुटिओ सासु गइओ तत घाट ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Nain sarvan sarīr sabẖ huti▫o sās ga▫i▫o ṯaṯ gẖāt. ||1|| rahā▫o.
His eyes, ears and body are totally exhausted; he shall lose his breath in an instant. ||1||Pause||

ਅਨਾਥ ਰਞਾਣਿ ਉਦਰੁ ਲੇ ਪੋਖਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਗਈਆ ਹਾਟਿ
अनाथ रञाणि उदरु ले पोखहि माइआ गईआ हाटि ॥
Anāth rañaṇ uḏar le pokẖėh mā▫i▫ā ga▫ī▫ā hāt.
Making the poor suffer, he fills his belly, but the wealth of Maya shall not go with him.

ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਰਤ ਕਰਤ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ਕਬਹੁ ਸਾਕਹਿ ਛਾਂਟਿ ॥੧॥
किलबिख करत करत पछुतावहि कबहु न साकहि छांटि ॥१॥
Kilbikẖ karaṯ karaṯ pacẖẖuṯāvahi kabahu na sākėh cẖẖāʼnt. ||1||
Committing sinful mistakes again and again, he regrets and repents, but he can never give them up. ||1||

ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਜਮਦੂਤੀ ਆਇ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਓ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਮੂੰਡ ਉਪਰਿ ਮਟਾਕ
निंदकु जमदूती आइ संघारिओ देवहि मूंड उपरि मटाक ॥
Ninḏak jamḏūṯī ā▫e sangẖāri▫o ḏevėh mūnd upar matāk.
The Messenger of Death comes to slaughter the slanderer; he beats him on his head.

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਨ ਕਟਾਰੀ ਆਪਸ ਕਉ ਲਾਈ ਮਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਫਾਟ ॥੨॥੮੨॥੧੦੫॥
नानक आपन कटारी आपस कउ लाई मनु अपना कीनो फाट ॥२॥८२॥१०५॥
Nānak āpan katārī āpas ka▫o lā▫ī man apnā kīno fāt. ||2||82||105||
O Nanak, he cuts himself with his own dagger, and damages his own mind. ||2||82||105||

ਟੂਟੀ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਅਧ ਬੀਚ
टूटी निंदक की अध बीच ॥
Tūtī ninḏak kī aḏẖ bīcẖ.
The slanderer is destroyed in mid-stream.

ਜਨ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਕਉ ਆਇ ਪਹੂਚੀ ਮੀਚ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
जन का राखा आपि सुआमी बेमुख कउ आइ पहूची मीच ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jan kā rākẖā āp su▫āmī bemukẖ ka▫o ā▫e pahūcẖī mīcẖ. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Our Lord and Master is the Saving Grace, the Protector of His humble servants; those who have turned their backs on the Guru are overtaken by death. ||1||Pause||

ਉਸ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਸੁਣਈ ਕਹੀ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਪਾਵੈ
उस का कहिआ कोइ न सुणई कही न बैसणु पावै ॥
Us kā kahi▫ā ko▫e na suṇ▫ī kahī na baisaṇ pāvai.
No one listens to what he says; he is not allowed to sit anywhere.

ਈਹਾਂ ਦੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਨਰਕੁ ਭੁੰਚੈ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਰਮਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
ईहां दुखु आगै नरकु भुंचै बहु जोनी भरमावै ॥१॥
Īhāʼn ḏukẖ āgai narak bẖuncẖai baho jonī bẖarmāvai. ||1||
He suffers in pain here, and falls into hell hereafter. He wanders in endless reincarnations. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਖੰਡੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ
प्रगटु भइआ खंडी ब्रहमंडी कीता अपणा पाइआ ॥
Pargat bẖa▫i▫ā kẖandī barahmandī kīṯā apṇā pā▫i▫ā.
He has become infamous across worlds and galaxies; he receives according to what he has done.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੮੩॥੧੦੬॥
नानक सरणि निरभउ करते की अनद मंगल गुण गाइआ ॥२॥८३॥१०६॥
Nānak saraṇ nirbẖa▫o karṯe kī anaḏ mangal guṇ gā▫i▫ā. ||2||83||106||
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Fearless Creator Lord; he sings His Glorious Praises in ecstasy and bliss. ||2||83||106||

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਚਲਤ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰਿ

Ŧarisnā cẖalaṯ baho parkār.
Desire plays itself out in so many ways.
